  1. My town is not so small but I live in a neighborhood of decent working class folks so I don't hesitate to knock on doors. Unfortunately I've yet to get a muffin offer though. Now I'm feeling a bit deprived.
  2. Mine has rolled off the table onto carpet a few times, a couple of times onto harder surfaces but never on concrete. It's survived it all. When my V1 control head started to come loose it was while I was changing tanks. I've run into "that device is no good because it might break if you drop it' threads ad nauseum. Try dropping your smartphone, tablet, or other electronic device and see how long it lasts. I don't understand the mentality that expects ecig devices to be indestructible.
  3. To quote George Carlin, " Never argue with an idiot. They'll only bring down to their level and beat you with experience."
  4. I think you'll like your evic. I've had a V1 since December of last year and use it all day every day. The newer ones have had an initial flaw corrected where the control head would separate. That happened to mine but epoxy fixed it. The new ones have screws that secure the head. The only other 'problem' I've had is that the finish is starting to wear off of the fire button. Go figure.
  5. When using a top coil device I always opt for the longer length for the same reason. I have also found it useful to fray them to aid in the wicking process.
  6. Very cool. It's great when your setup is working right for you.
  7. Could be that it has and that someone has shortly redelivered it. But nothing's ever gone missing. Maybe junk mail but they can send that astray all they want to.
  8. I get other peoples' mail maybe once every month or so. Some is for a different address on my street, some addressed to a totally different street. One of my letter carriers is also constantly on her cell phone. In fact I've never seen her not talking on her cell phone. Just like distracted driving, I'm pretty sure the distraction is responsible for mistakes here and there. I don't know what the work rules are for the USPS. I'd like to think such things are prohibited but in this country today I just don't know. Fortunately none of my mail has gone astray - yet. Odds are though that the day is coming.
  9. I don't see any difference between 4 hours in juice and 4 seconds. I generally take 4 or 5 unpowered hits to prime the wicks immediately after filling and that's it. When the wicks are saturated they're saturated. As to rinsing and drying prior to use I don't see the need. All i do is a quick dry burn to get any residual junk, if any, from the coil and go. For me after 4 hours of use I'm starting to see a decline in performance rather than an improvement.
  10. Yeah it looks like a box a watch or other jewelry would come in. I bought my first batch of PT's weeks ago with no fancy box so I was surprised when these arrived.
  11. I just received 2 spares from Cignot the other day that were in the 'presentation' box. My originals were just packaged in a carboard box. What I call the presentation box might come in handy when traveling.
  12. I won't disagree with that. However when I started vaping I was unemployed and pinching pennies. I'm back in the black now but that mentality's stayed with me. That plus I'm a tinkerer by nature.
  13. That little sleeve can be screwed up close to the tank to tighten airflow and away from the tank to loosen the draw. I can't use the ring on my devices but some people feel the ability to adjust airflow nice.
  14. I forgot to mention that I use pliers to pull the air tube from the actual coil section before cleaning. Once you have those 2 pieces apart remove the 2 flavor wicks, rinse with water and put them aside to dry. When reassembling it help to lubricate the end of the air tube where it press fits on the coil section with a little e juice. You'll have to use pliers either way (at least I do) but it makes it a little easier.
  15. I hold the tank upside down of course when I fill it. I usually fill to at least the top of the glass section and no more than 1/8" from the opening of the vent tube. I personally don't dry burn these coils until after a 24hr vodka soak. Then I use an eGo battery set at low voltage to fire it at something like 3 second bursts. Depending on how much crud there is I often use a tiny jewelers' screwdriver to gently scrape stuff away. Once you see no more smoke during the burn and the coil windings each glow brightly then it's as clean as it's going to get. Dry burning a coil after some use and cleaning is necessary for any kind of decent performance. It's either that or just keep buying new coils. Do NOT dry burn any coil at high voltage. You can fry one really quickly that way.
  16. I'm going to hold off on the V2 for awhile as I have no issue with V1's I already have. Increased capacity would be nice but not at the of expense increased size, at least not for me. I just hope they continue to offer the V1's for curmudgeons like me.
  17. Well I hadn't done it until just now reading your challenge of sorts. Interesting, peanut butter in 1 protank and butterscotch in another. I don't think you're sick though. Many years ago on a dare I ripped both ends from a new pack of cigarettes with just a narrow band of the wrapper holding them all in place. I then lit and proceeded to smoke 20 at once. Now that's sickness!
  18. If you're comfortable and satisfied with what you have there is no reason to go on. I thought I was there a couple of years ago. But the "next best thing" came along and I had to try it. And then there was another "next best thing". It was even better. I guess for me the siren song of "the next best thing" hasn't ended. Whatever the case it beats the hell out of smoking!
  19. For me the price wouldn't matter if it stayed as currently advertised. You only have to replace coil assemblies provided you don't go around dropping them frequently.. If you diy coils that recurring cost becomes negligible. If $19.50 breaks you how did you ever afford cigarettes?
  20. I've been waiting for some semi definitive word on when the FDA will make a move to tip me over the edge into diy'ing juice. This may be it. I've already got the hardware side covered for the 'Vapocalypse'.
  21. FWIW I'm done experimenting with cotton wicks. I've never had good repeatable success with it in any form from yarn to cotton balls to cheesecloth strands. And when it worked right the flavor was only marginally better. Another big downside for me was the inability to dry burn it. Different folks may have different results that suit them but that's been my experience with cotton. I've seen posts where people swear by bamboo yarn, butchers' twine, etc. I'll stick with silica for now. My only wish is that I could find the identical weave and size that Kanger uses.
  22. No that is not the reality of the product when working correcctly. If you are having issues after rewicking chances are good that the flavor wicks are not filling sufficient space to prevent excess juice from entering the coil/tube area and then just running into and out of the tube when on it's side. A new factory fresh coil assembly shouldn't do this at all unless defective. Stick a q-tip in the mouthpiece and invert the whole thing. That's a bandaid at least but not normally required. I did receive one new coil assembly that was missing the flavor wicks and therefore leaked. That was 1 out of maybe 25 that I've been through. Recoiling/rewicking has been more hit or miss for me. The coils fire fine but I sometimes don't get the flavor wicks just right. BTW I use 80% PG juices so any small defect will cause me leaks.
  23. They're really not that fragile. Mine have dropped short distances on to hard and carpeted surfaces but never on concrete. I wouldn't expect my smartphone or watch to be invulnerable either if I kept dropping them, especially on hard surfaces. If you value anything most people take care not to drop it. Accidents can happen anyway but can hopefully be kept at a minimum.
  24. I mentioned this in another thread in General Discussion but I'll repost here as it's a new product. http://www.sz-kanger.com/products/kanger-protank-2-clearomizer-pre-order-now-ship-in-july-25th The new version seems to address issues some folks have had as well as added capacity. The downside, if any, is that it's physically larger. That might be an issue for some.
  25. Looks like V2 is coming soon: http://www.sz-kanger.com/collections/kangertech-kanger-clearomizer/products/kanger-protank-2-clearomizer-pre-order-now-ship-in-july-25th
