30ml Vape Dudes: Coffee @ 70/30 11mg

I hadn't received the usual two emails from them and had ran out of both the above. Strange as they have been outstanding on dependability.
Then Shablam! The doorbell rings and I'm fully stocked!!

ChrisP reacted to Compenstine in Radio Shack Model: 22-182 Multimeter MOD
This was brought up in another thread, moding out a multimeter for testing atomizers. I had bought a Radio Shack Model: 22-182 Multimeter just for building coils and testing other E-cig needs. I promised a tutorial of what I did when I was done, well, here it is.
I started with a stock Radio Shack Model: 22-182 Multimeter
This Multimeter comes in its own case and is mounted with 2 screws into the case for changing the battery. I wanted to use the case it came in as it was very compact and is easy to store.
After some thought I decided to make a panel that would fit into where the test leads were stored. This would allow me to close the case lid and keep it all in one neat package. I found an old 5.25 black bay cover for a PC to make the panel. I used connectors I salvaged from dead 510 and 901 batteries and atomizes also some used wire from a old PC LED.
I wanted a tight fit for the panel so I made a template of the test lead storage plate from a piece of semi ridged clear plastic. Laying the plastic over the multimeter I traced out the shape I needed for my panel with a Sharpie. After cutting the template out, I traced it onto the 5.25 bay cover. I placed the template in the upper right corner of the bay cover. This would allow the downed edge to act as a stop and a support for the panel once in place. Using a Dremel I cut out the basic shape, leaving room to adjust it's shape to fit tight in the test lead storage area of the Multimeter. I used the Dremel with a sanding cylinder to shape it for clean fit. I used a 5/16th in drill bit to make the holes where the new leads would be mounted. This bit was a tad smaller than the atty and batt but, I wanted a tight fit. The 3/8ths bit was just a hair to large. I then took my Dremel and a small sanding cylinder to make the holes just the right size for them to fit nice an snug.
Note the holes are a little off I made a line to follow but the center punch moved a bit on the second hole from the top. Ooops lol
After that was all done and ready to go, I soldered the all the leads together. I did this before installing them into the panel so I wouldn't risk melting the plastic panel. Once soldered and mounted them into the panel. I did a test on all the new leads to make sure all had a good connection and they all worked. I did this by taking a base reading on 1 atty. Then using it with an adapter to test both the 510 and 901 atty leads. I then used 1 batt and did the same with the 510 and 901 batt leads. After it all tested a go, I then used 5min epoxy to glue the leads in place. I also added some to the wires so they would move and possibly break the solder joint. I want to be able to remove the panel when I want so the wires had to be secured. Once the epoxy had set, I retested the leads just to make sure all the leads were still working.
It was at this time that I cut the original leads from the multimeter making sure I left a little extra in case of a redo. I then soldered them to the leads of the panel. To protect the connection I used some shrink tubing on these connections.
Now it is time to pop in the panel and test it again.
It all tested good so there it is, a custom 510, 901 Atty and Batt tester. The space at the top allows me to add 4-5 adapters for testing other size attys, Batts or extending the lead up to test tanks that are to big around to fit directly on the 510 lead.

ChrisP reacted to Uma in No more ecigs in public in NYC
Big Pharma is pushing hard to force everyone onto Chantix, (main goal) & onto their other products (gum, patch, nicotrol, etc) until they can take over the world &ban natural nicotine, patent & promote synthetic nicotine, etc...
They've been caught literally lobbying officials with misinformation, (uk), and we all know how the aka fronts lobby here in the states.
Combine this with TSET bribing towns to ban eCigs, their fiercest financial foe, & the "non-profit" groups who thrive on smoke sales from TSET, plus the states who rake in ridiculous sales tax plus "incentives" to ban, ... And there's a huge war.
BUT, they don't have a leg to stand on. We must fight with truth and facts. They are basing their bans on lies, propaganda, & money. We have truth.
Send YOUR senators, congressmen, governors, DA's, the fact filled studies. Drexel, the full lancet study, IVAQS, and so on.
Send the same to newspapers, magazines, comment sections, get the truth out there!
They will not force feed me Chantix, they will NOT evict me from my home, job, insurance, or pursuit of happiness. They will NOT drive my family into a state of poverty over my having quit smoking!, they will NOT get away with their lies like we let them get away with the second hand smoking lies. We were considerate and gullible then, we didn't know better. NOW WE KNOW & they never saw us coming.
Don't despair. They are lobbying town by town, because even the FDA doesn't have legitimate reason to ban them. Big Pharma, tax hogs, grant hogs, are pushing these agendas. They might win a few battles, but there's no way they're going to win the war against our right to be smoke free.

Big Pharma's grants to bribe towns, universities, states, etc into banning their strongest competition, the eCigs

Cinnamon flavours in e-cigarettes: how inappropriate research can misinform the public and the (amateur) professionals
By Dr Farsalinos
Considerable debate has been focused on the issue of cinnamon flavors after a study was published in a toxicology journal declaring that such flavored liquids are cytotoxic. Just one month ago, a study published by our group also found that a cinnamon-flavored liquid was slightly cytotoxic (although still 10 times less toxic that tobacco smoke). I have already sent a letter to the editor of Toxicology in Vitro raising concerns about the latest study they published on cinnamon, however due to significant misinformation spread throughout the social media, I decided to publish this comment.
First of all, it was surprising to see a vendor removing cinnamon flavors from his sales list. According to a well-known e-cigarette activist, When a juice maker that fills thousands of bottles a day does this - you should listen. My response to this is: If the juice maker who fills thousands of bottles a day knew what he was doing, he should have found out about it before any research was published. What I mean is that makers have no idea about the cytotoxicity of their products. They are doing no research, so how would they know? But it is even worse that they are making such moves (to remove cinnamon flavors) without even reading (or understanding) the research they quote.
Let me explain. The latest study by Talbots group discussed about the cytotoxicity of cinnamon flavors in e-cigarette. Interestingly however, IF SOMEONE READS THE PAPER, he will find that the researchers never used any e-cigarette. Moreover, they never produced vapor! They tested the liquids in liquid form, not in vapor. How can you support that the results have implications for e-cigarette users when no e-cigarette was used and no vapor was produced? However, there is a bigger mistake. The authors mentioned that they tested 8 refill liquids with cinnamon flavor. They mention the names of the liquids and the companies they got them from. After personally searching on the internet and communicating with some companies, I found out that 4 of the samples were concentrated flavors, not refills. The authors themselves found cinnamaldehyde (the substance giving the cinnamon flavor in the liquid) at levels that differed between samples by up to 100 times. This confirms what I found: some of their samples were concentrated flavors.
Finally, there is still another problem in their study. They tested the substance itself (cinnamaldehyde) to see how toxic it is. They found it toxic at levels 400 times lower than currently approved for food use. This is a very strange result and it is hard to explain how regulatory authorities have accepted cinnamaldehyde to be available at such high levels (of course, before the approval, several tests were performed and it was not found toxic). The authors have to explain why their findings contradict previous research.
As I mentioned above, a letter to the editor has been sent and is currently evaluated for publication. In short, the results of this study have nothing to do with e-cigarette use and are more applicable to cinnamon use in food (since they tested the liquid in liquid form and they used several concentrated samples). Besides that, the reactions from manufacturers show that, unfortunately, they cannot accept their ignorance and instead of asking an expert so that they get informed, they react in a way that produces panic to vapers, does nothing to protect consumers and only results in a game of public relations tactics. This is even more unfortunate than the mistakes in the research protocol. As a final note, let's not forget that research has shown cinnamon to have anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant and maybe anti-cancer properties...

ChrisP reacted to Tam in Be concerned?
Did you know that PG is a powerful anti-bacterial? They use it in hospitals as well to kill bacteria.
While I don't want to have someone who is clearly sick and sneezing and coughing all over the place making my juice in filthy conditions, I like to think most places use at least some standard of cleanliness.

ChrisP reacted to Compenstine in Be concerned?
Even the big guys started in the kitchen. You can't compare a multi billion dollar company to a start-up. Granted it should be produced in a clean environment, but, you can't expect a mom and pop place to do what Coke, Pepsi and other big corps do out of the gate. The Juice makers that have a good product build up to better facilities. When doing my DIY juice I dedicate an area just for that. I keep it clean and tidy that is just common sense as well as safety. There are no pets allowed in the area, no kids... So long as someone is mindful of what they are doing I don't take issue with it. Profits from Juice are very small unless you are selling thousands of bottles a day. If a mom and pop place gets to that point then they have to expand out of necessity. That would be the time to upgrade a facility to were even more safety measures get put in place.

I want to wish everyone on Vapor Talk a Happy Thanksgiving. I want to take this opportunity to give thanks to all those VT members who have helped me successfully quit analogs and for helping me improve my vaping experience over the past 8 1/2 months. I'm missing Thanksgiving this year (overseas) so please have a huge plate of food for me.
May God bless you and your families.

I figured it would be nice to start a thread about the little pleasures....
(Some silliness ahead. I love being silly)
One thing that really brought my mood up back as a smoker was that fresh pack. I loved the sound taking the cellophane off, packing it, and pulling out that foil. ...so is that gone for me? No...
Now... It's the zipper on my vape case, the sound and feel of connecting my clearomizer to my battery, and the 5 clicks to fire it up - I just know some joy is a moment away when I hear those sounds.
My favorite is definitely the sound of connecting the clearomizer. It reminds me ever so slightly of when people assemble weapons in movies. I guess it is, in a way, a weapon - and I use it to blast away that naggy "I miss cigarettes" thought in my head.
Wanting a cig? .... (in my best "mobster" impression) Say hello to my little friend!

ChrisP got a reaction from HelloMiakoda in The little pleasures
I feel it's the ritual of the ritual itself. Time alone.
I enjoy vaping best in a quiet room instead of a windy or noisy area. I can hear the sizzle and feel the cloud surround me. Don't know that I need the nicotine during those moments. My psychological needs met.

ChrisP reacted to Compenstine in never smokers who vape
They will not be able to regulate me. I will build my own coils and devices while making my own juice. They can't regulate the supplies or my knowledge and ability to create.
I would rather see someone take up vaping rather than analogs any day.

ChrisP reacted to bcartervol98 in Very cool Experience Vaping > Nicorette
This weekend I and the other Den Leaders for my sons Cub Scout Pack took them "cave camping". It was a very cool trip but a couple of the parents were smokers and had asked if they could bring their "Nicorette" gum in with them. They asked since gum was expressedly forbidden so I told them I wasnt sure. Well as soon as we got into the cave the tour guide says "No Tobacco, No gum, No firearms, No open flame, etc.... One of the parents asked about nicorette and he said absolutely not.
I pulled the tour guide over to the side and asked him about vaping and explained it to him. He said that wouldn't be a problem. Since I always over pack I brought 4 fully charged Ego batteries and 4 full tanks of 24mg (just in case I was gonna have to sneak) I talked to the parents that smoked and set them each up with a battery and full tank to use for the trip and all 3 of them say they are going today to buy the starter kits. I sent them links and such but am sure they will just go to the B&M which is fine, their money. I was just proud to have led the way on hopefully a much healthier life for them and it all happened in a cave almost 2 miles below the earths surface!
Incidentally, even with 70pg liquids the vapor production is immense in 100% humidity lol.

ChrisP reacted to Proetus in Protank 2 / Mini Protank 2 / Replacement head interest thread
This is an interest thread to determine if we can get enough numbers to warrant a group buy. I do not have exact prices or any prices for that matter. Those vary greatly depending on the numbers ordered. I can give you the prices that these exact same items were on my last coop as a reference. More then likely the cost will be a touch higher as i don't expect to order 200 Protanks 200 Mini Protanks and 2500 heads Protank 2's were $10.53, Mini Protank 2 (w/ removable tips) were $7.83 and a 5pk of heads was $3.28.
The interest form does not gaurantee anything. It does not commit you to purchase anything or me to provide you anything. It is just that an interest form.
The way Coop's work is this. We determine an interest, IE how much we think we need. I contact the vendor get prices for X amount of product. I would start a new thread with an order form, shipping form and link to the spreadsheet for everyone to view. You would place your order for your items, once we meet MOQ (minimum order quantity) , i will send out invoices via paypal. Once all orders have been paid for i will submit payment to the vendor. The items will be shipped to me, i would inventory them, re-pack them and ship them out to you folks. There are a few costs associated with coops. These will all be viewable on the spreadsheet. Paypal is the only acceptable payment option.
1) The product you order 2) Shipping from me to you 3) Incidentals $1.00 per person (this covers bubblewrap, tape, Labels, gas to the post office etc) 4) Paypal fee's $.30+2.9% of your order. (this is non-negotiable) If you send money as a gift you have no recourse for a chargeback. It is for your protection.
Beings as this is a smaller community then where i normally run coops, we run into some challenges. Namely being numbers. If you have aren't sure you want to order or can pay for the order in a timely manner please, do not place an order. Reason being is this, if we do not meet our MOQ, there is no order. We do not have the numbers over here to pick up abandoned orders.
With all that said... here is the interest form for Protank 2's / Mini Protank 2's and 1.8-2.2 5pk Replacement heads.
