No most APV's (other then a dna20 mod) won't fire a coil below a 1.1 because the circuitry is built that way. It stops you from having a short, or what it perceives as a short.

you can use any of the batteries with a kick grant. 18650, 18500,18490, 18350 they will all fit in the K100 with a kick. If you over discharge a battery you can essentially shorten the life or even kill it. It's not a huge problem even for people just starting on a mech because you will notice that it goes to almost nothing long before the battery over discharges.

Multiples would be a great idea too. Lol just kidding that's my wish list! Really just a twist or something like a vamo or tesla would be a great start for you. Then go with a larger protank or a davide and try those out. That would be a pretty solid start towards a great setup. You can always tweak it if something isn't great or up to your liking.
