Then 'Airframe' will be added to my shortlist. I read 'State of Fear' after I read Timeline, it was good, but didn't impress me as much.
-
Indeed, my number one favorite western ever.
-
I've only read a couple Chrichton's, but I must say that 'Timeline' was one of my favorite books. I was told they made a movie of it, and I'm glad I never saw it, as I would find it impossible (as with most attempts) to duplicate the quality of the movie it created in 'my mind'. I never read 'Lonesome Dove', but I saw the mini series. My son read the book after seeing the mini series and said compared to the book, the mini series is like a 'condensed' version. I will either see a movie, or read the book, but never both.

Ludlum, The Scorpio Illusion

Highly, highly recommend 'The Forgotten Soldier' by Guy Sajer. An autobiographical account of a German infantryman sent to the Eastern front. Started reading it with a 'what the heck' motivation and then found it intriguing. You follow the transformation of a bright eyed, enthusiastic 17 years old (in 1943), to an emotionally broken and disillusioned 19 year old, during a retreat to (unbeknown to them) a country that no longer existed. One thing that stuck with me was that after other reads and all the movies, nothing ever relayed to me the absolute terror of being on the receiving end of an artillery assault as his book did. BTW, as a kid in the early 60's, got to hang out a lot in a gun shop 'loaded' with Garand's, M-1 carbines, K98's, Japanese Arisaka's, etc.......unbelievably cheap too. Also, not actually the European theater, but one that I really enjoyed was 'Battleship...the sinking of the Prince of Wales and the Repulse', by Martin Middlebrook. "..On Wednesday, December 10, 1941, two British battleships were sunk off Malaya by a Japanese air torpedo attack. They did not request the air support that could have saved them. 840 men died, and the survivors have not forgotten. This is the story of this torpedo attack..".

Do you mean to say that my boys in Singapore might possibly not have my best interest in heart, and may not be using the finest ingredients? I'm shocked. BTW, does anyone know why there is a big banner, like a warning sign, notifying you that the poster (who is the only one who can) has made an edit? Tam says: Transparency so you can see what's going on.

This one should piss you off and make you wish you could have been there a 1000 friends, all with M-4's and unlimited ammunition. Not for the timid, highly recommend. '..Shake Hands with the Devil: The Journey of Roméo Dallaire..'. "..a 2004 documentary film about the 1994 genocide in Rwanda..". "..Canadian Armed Forces General Roméo Dallaire was put in charge of a United Nations peacekeeping force during this 1994 genocide. His proposal called for 5,000 soldiers to permit orderly elections and the return of the refugees. The soldiers were never supplied and the killing began..".

Thanks, not really something 'making' me cough, just some light flem that you have to cough to get it up. I have only had that happen before at the very end of a cold that has run it's course (headache to sore throat to head cold to chest, etc.), but this just started out of the blue. We'll see, maybe it 'is' bug related.
-
Thanks.....looks like I posted a duplicate.
-
Kind of doubt it....no fever, no 'anything else' at all, just flem. I rarely come down with anything.

Probably should be in the 'Health' forum, but, as can be seen by the topic count, very few go there. So, I read something to give pause, and thought it should be seen: "..Hidden’ High Levels Of Cancer-Causing Formaldehyde Found in E-Cigarettes..". https://www.yahoo.com/health/hidden-high-levels-of-cancer-causing-108828992747.html May help explain the wet cough I have had for a few weeks, after 'vaping only' for 18 months. Never had this cough during 30 years of analogs. Probably time for me to quit the 'E's' also.

A follow up......yup, teflon plumbers tape, tear of a piece, roll it up like a string, wrap it around....bingo. And a $1 roll of it would make, oh, maybe 5000 o rings ........ and any size you want.
-
Duh me ..... didn't even realize there should be an O ring between tank and coil housing. If there was one, it's gone now. Mystery solved. Thanks. Until it comes, good ole plumbers tape should suffice.

I know this has been discussed here, tried a search, but the search has been 'loading' for a couple hours. Anyway, my kangor's leak seems to be increasing (between the tank and coil gasket). Doubling the gasket stopped it, but doesn't allow enough threading to be stable. Never had this problem with my Ego tanks. Is this curable, or toss it? A link to a previous thread would be good too. Thanks

Personally, I don't see how anybody could do an analog after vaping. For me it was 'instant switch' for good. Started at 24mg, now down to 6. I still have my last unopened pack bought July 2, 2013. I still look at it occasionally just to bring out an 'ugh'. IMO they have no taste and stink. Plus I've probably netted $1400 in savings so far. The only drawback I have is that I vape more than I smoked. But I guess that's because I can do it ANYWHERE.........no stink. And IMO, if you think you can 'gradually' switch.......forget it.
-
Thanks all, it's been a good refresher course.
-
Okay, I know there's oodles of info here somewhere, but I've done searches for 'coils', 'resistance', and 'ohms', but the 'loading' process goes on for hours, so I give up. So, can someone give me some links to discussions about 'coil resistance'? I'm trying to figure which one I should be using with standard 3.7 batts. I think I'm using 1.8 ohms, and the only thing that seems to give me a decent pull is the one VV batt I have when cranked up. Anyway, just looking to read some old threads if I can locate them. Thanks. BTW, still have the last unopened pack of analogs I purchased on July 1, 2013. I still love looking at it and thinking 'uck'.
-
I started with a couple VV's, but won't use them again. I find the standard 3.7v is fine for me. The big downer was that my VV's would unknowlingly creep their way up to higher voltage while going in and out of my pocket. I was often having to crank them back down after taking a surprise 'knock out' pull.

Good Flavor To Mix With Tobacco Juice?
kerk replied to doodler's topic in General eLiquid Discussion
I'm finding with all my samples, I am keeping some 'Eggnog' and 'Coconut Cream Pie' from EC Blends to use to doctor up any flavors that I don't care for alone, rather than toss them out. -
Looking for a GOOD Pumpkin Spice juice.
kerk replied to VaporDragon77's topic in General eLiquid Discussion
I have a sample of it. Didn't finish it as I don't care for it. To me it has a burnt taste, and it has steeped plenty long. Could be the coffee part of it, haven't tried any other coffees to know for sure if it's just me. I may try a plain pumpkin spice in the future. -
After 6 months I'm still trying to figure out what 2 or 3 flavors I want to order in quantity. He should like the 555 once he gets used to (and will prefer eventually) a touch of sweetness in his vape. My 'original' juice order was from Aqua Vaper, and I thought their 'Regular' was a pretty good one. I also like their 'Black Tobacco', but then, that's me. I would suggest checking out the 'Traditional Flavors' at EC Blends. It is all tobacco blends, and a lot of them to choose from, and the $2.50, 5 mil samples make it pretty good. He can try out 8 for $20.00.

Looking for a good RY4 - more tobacco, less carmel/vanilla
kerk replied to VaperG's topic in General eLiquid Discussion
It sounds like maybe EC Blends hears ya: RY 7 - eLiquid Flavor E-Liquid Flavor RY 7 (RY7) is a different and more robust tobacco version of our popular classic RY 4 with undertones of caramel and vanilla. The tobacco flavoring is different and intensified... -
Based on your smoke free ticker, if like me, I'm guessing that 215 days ago, those laughs would have would have had you coughing your head off.

Want to watch a movie to make you stop and 'think'? A movie to make you stare blindly at the screen for two minutes after it ends? 'Seven Pounds' with Will Smith. Don't like Will Smith? You will.
