Need advice - want high end VV/VW Mod
Dasfriek replied to zonomo's topic in General Vaping Discussion
I really like the Hana mods V3 with the DNA30 electronics. It's a box style mod, but very nice looking. The $250 price tag means I'll most likely never get to own one. -
Hopefully that does the trick. But I still feel a CE5 and and non variable voltage ego's is not adaquate for good throat hits. A spinner and Evod would be my minamum and a Vamo/Mvp and ProTank2 would be my best cheap suggestion.
-
I'd wait on some ejuice suppliers to be listed than just buying something from a Google search. That place may be fine, but the guys here will know the perfect place to buy from. I buy equipment from sweet-vapes.com and buy my juice locally.
-
I'd say it's equipment that's lacking, You have progressed past it. But nothing is cheap on the good side of equipment. First you need a mod, I'd suggest the innokin MVP so you don't need to buy batteries and charger as it's built into the MVP. If you prefer to use replaceable batteries and charger so you can swap charged cells in as needed is suggest SVD or Vamo. The MVP and SVD both come with a I30 tank which some like, but I prefer Kanger ProTanks. Either the PT2,PT3 or PT Aero. You could spend as little as $70 or as much as $150 on the stuff I listed. Why buy all this? Power and quality designed products that came about due to the small cheaper stuff not able to deliver what people wanted. I'd suggest looking for a local vape shot and look at what you may like and works for you. Buying local is almost always more expensive over buying online, but having a local shop to help while your new can be a big help. Once you try the good stuff you will be amazed at the difference! Oh and stick with a 70/30 or 80/20 PG/VG ratio on your juice as suggested above.

I bought a spare smoke glass for my Aero tank and it's labeled in a Kanger package. I've noticed it get sticky and softish to the touch and I can scratch it with my finger nail. I will put the original back on soon. It seems to be all on the outside also and my juice has never had any issues even in plastic tanks. My PT2 mini has the same glass but it's holding up better, but my nail will scratch in. Imo it's a coating on both and not colored glass. Clear glass will be all I buy anymore.

If you only have a mech mod, I'd find a tank with a good selection of coil resistances to match the mods power. Even better pick a tank you can easily and cheaply rebuild your own coils to your liking. The PT2 would be the best choice imo.
-
If you dry burned it you could have melted the rubber insulator on the bottom. I'd try a vodka rinse and dry it and learn to take the top post off for more accurate burns. Personally I don't do them.
-
I will most likely start rebuilding them, I just don't look forward to doing double coils. I like the doubles as my juice burns on single coils pushed the the vapor output I prefer.
-
I don't clean my coils other than blow them out when I refill the tank. I'm with mcquinn in that once a coil reaches a certain point no cleaning makes it work anything close to what a new one would. This is why I rebuild my PT coils, or just buy new ones since they are rather inexpensive and last a week or 2 even with heavy use. This is becoming an issue the the new dual coils in the Aero tanks. They use much more power and I'm trashing them in 2 days use now. And since they aren't as cheap I'm gonna have to start rebuilding these or buying in bulk online as they are $3 each locally.

A question for vapers who have been at this awhile...
Dasfriek replied to Tam's topic in General Vaping Discussion
I tend to stick with a main setup and a main juice, and switch to a whole new setup and juice I keep for a backup and a 3rd when my main juice looses it kick on my taste buds or mood. I'm not fickle I'm obsessive if not almost OCD. Every setup and combo must be ready to be vaped at a moments notion and be a perfect vape every time, if not I'll spend hours getting it right. I even keep 2 mobile setups like this when I leave the house. I had to quit rebuildables as I fooled with it more than I vaped it. This would explain my exclusive use of Kanger Protanks. They are consistent and easy to mod to my preferences. I have 7 of the buggers with 2 PT1's in storage to be passed on as a gift some day. How some people make due with ce5's and a few spinners seems impossible to me. More power to them if it keeps them happy and off the analogs! What's odd is I spent 30 years using Copenhagen snuff and never once swayed or tried to chew anything else. But I have been using the same main juice for almost a year now and it's just as yummy as the day I found it. -
My juice burns if I try and push a single coil hard enough to equal what the new dual coils can produce. Plus the vapor is produced so fast it's like puffing a full hit rather than sucking until it cuts off.
-
Try a PT base on that setup as the slotted 510 connector on the VTR allows even more air to be pulled threw the base and coil. I run at 9-10 watts and it beats my SVD and Aero tank with it's original base by a good margin.
-
On the go: 1100mah spinner with mini PT2 and 70/30 pg/vg Bazinga Punch from Buckeye vapers. At home: VTR and Aero tank with juice listed above. This combo perferms so well it's amazing! Secondary setup so I can keep my taste buds clean: SVD with Aero tank and Mindblower juice 70/30 mix.

Try going into a busy bar on a weekend with an 18650 mod and pretty Pyrex tank. I had to get the bartender to fix me a vodka soakmy napkin as many strangers just had to try my setup. Cheaper? Hardly! My juice bill is $75 a month and I buy in bulk and get discounts. That's what I use and not stock pile every month. My mom wants my new VTR and Aero tank setup, is give it to her if she would give up anologs. She had a Vv spinner and Evod now. I live in Columbus, Ohio and this town has exploded from 1 true vape store to I think 10 in the last year. The 3 shops I frequent are always full of customers. What I look forward to is all the innovations in the vape world since the market is picking up so much steam. I'm one of the few people who started vaping for it's enjoyment, but by chance it made me stop a 30 year old copenhagen snuff addiction. As doing both at the same time made me I'll due to excess nicotine. Yes I could have went with 0% Nic but that's like drinking non alcoholic beer.

Try a different mod, my Vamo hates 1 certain PT base I own out of 3. It's draw is way too tight no matter how much I can't see any differences in it and used every trick to modify it to correct it. Btw it works perfect on my other mods.

New Stuff - eVic & Vivi Nova Tank & MP Props!
Dasfriek replied to Deckyon's topic in General Vaping Discussion
After going to a Vamo and an SVD I'm spoiled while at home with larger mods. I'm kinda lost as to a "Vivi Nova PT"? Can you link or post a pic of the tank? I use an ATA-T2 genie clone and LOVE it once I learned to build the wick and coil correctly. It hits as good as the Kanger Protank just has a different type of hit. -
Hi, Sorry I missed your question. I live in Grove City a suburb of Columbus. I buy most of my equipment locally when possible. But I just ordered the KPT-Mini a few minutes ago. It will most likely replace my EVOD for my on-the-go pvd. I'll use a custom wick and coil in it also, it vapes better than a stock PT coil. It took me 2 weeks and many attempts and a few videos to finally get one right, rebuilding PT coils are much easier than my ATA-T2. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jnuYJeoS6Fc is a great video that got me on the right track. My KPT and the ATA-T2 are fighting to see who gets used as my main tank. Both are great when setup right and modded. But they both hit differently and the flavors even with the same juice taste different, plus the ATA-T2 keeps me from nodding my other tanks more since its made to be tinkered with.

I guess I have dumb luck, but I stay at 3.5v-3.7v and or 7watts too 9w and its going down im using 1.4-1.6 ohm coils now. So I'm using regulated pv's and a spinner on the go. The Bazinga e-juice I found on my second taste of any juices and I've been hooked on it since, its not overly thick and turns lightly orange too orange if I don't rinse my tank enough.
-
I use a 50/50 pg/vg mix @24mg Bazinga juice from buckeyevapers. I've actually never had an EVOD tank burn out a coil either even before I started using PT coils in them. I used to pitch old coils at 3 weeks as I was to lazy to wash them, but I do enjoy rebuilding them now tho. I'd also want to add a correction on my post above that I can't edit: "I use 1.4ohm coils in my PT coils."
-
I pulled the 3 week old coil out of my PT after non-stop use, it was nasty when I pulled it apart. I'd suggest replacing them and skip cleaning them as the crap I saw loaded on the coils and wick no doubt affected performance. That is unless you can rebuild them, Which I now prefer. My PT coil that I rewicked and made a 1ohm coil for went into my EVOD last night and it hits like a rocket at 3.5v. Tonight I redo another and get into my PT this time.
-
I actually prefer Protank coils in my Evods, tight draws can give me headaches.
-
I love my KPT more than any other tank or clearo I've bought or tried, So I have to try one of these. Atm my AGA-t2 is fighting my PT for that spot, but since I've learned to build and mod PT coils its come down to my skills holding me back in making either perfect in my eyes.

Btw the lowest setting is 3.3v on the spinners, but I found 3.7v- 3.8v is the sweet spot for me. Going smaller usually means a higher price, lower reliability and a less enjoyable taste and hit. I too would rather an analog sized vape device over my "Sharpie" sized portable setups. I like and use 24mg ejuice, but 12mg-18mg would have worked just as well as my Protank is permanently stuck to my lips. I started vaping for pleasure myself as I smoked 3-4 analogs a day if even any at times, But I used Copenhagen snuff for 30 years and once I got my first vaping setup I haven't touched the snuff and the was over 3 weeks ago. It was never my intention to stop, it just happened that way as snuff and vaping together was too much nicotine. Imo you got a great setup as a first kit and its pieces even experienced Vapors still use and recommend. I prefer to have a home and portable setup both as at home I like the extra power and battery capacity and large tanks that only need filled once a day. My home setup is the size of a small too medium sized flashlight. But the vapes I get from it make its larger size tolerable.
-
Where you at in Ohio? Buckeye Vapors in Columbus has about 125 flavors but they will mix up anything you could imagine as they pour and mix their own juices. Just an idea until you can get mixing your own.

I have a 900mah non-spinner and an 1100mah spinner for outside the house travel when I need a portable setup. I'd recommend either to a new person to vaping, just don't use the variable voltage on the spinner until you know 100% how to use it correctly. It is hard and expensive to use and own a cigarette sized vapor device that works well, its one reason my portable setup is the size of a sharpie. And dare I say that the better vaping devices taste better and work better than most could imagine. I'm more addicted to vaping than I ever was using Copenhagen snuff. And its many times more enjoyable. I've tried a couple disposable clear tanks that were 808 sized and the pull was very tight, but the taste was plastic like and the foav9rs were way off. But many people here seem to like 808 sized cartomisers much better, hopefully I stated that right accuracy wise One mistake I bought was an E-Power 18650 mechanical mod for my first battery device, its weak power wise and let's just say its not defective but it may as well be. My 900mah non spinner works much better in the power department and gives strong vapes in comparison. So you don't have to spend a fortune to get a good quality setup that even experienced vapers still use and own. What I like is you can go basic and get quality stuff for reasonable prices or blow some extra money and later see what higher end vaping is about. Your only limit is your imagination and wallet.
