For use with the eGo, Most people will recommend that you purchase cartomizers and that you refill them with your own juice. However, to answer your question, you can by pre-filled cartomizers and never refill. But it is much more expensive than refilling. And flavors are limited in prefilled cartos. I know lots of people like various types of cartomizers. With the eGo, there are lots of adapters that you can purchase. The eGo has 510 female threads. I really like SmokeStik cartomizers. They are designed differently. They never burn and last much longer than anything else I've used. (meaning the atomizer inside lasts longer.) I've used 510s and 808s and SmokeStick(4081) cartos. I refill and can get 20-30 drops into the carto. So I purchased a 510 to 4081 adapter. The SmokeStik cartos are not inexpensive. And you can purchase them and not refill. Most people using the SS (general public) use them once, toss them and put on a new one. But I think that's a waste because they are easy to refill and last for many, many uses. So if you don't want to refill, you have options of purchasing pre-filled cartos. But if you want to, you have even more options to refill your own. Just make sure you put the juice in a box and way out of reach of the little one. AND make sure you wash your hands after handling.

Hey Martin, welcome to VaporTalk. I just wanted to say hello. I'm not an expert so really don't feel qualified to answer your questions. I do know that the sweetness varies. From what I hear PG is a little sweeter than VG. It has a natural sweetness to it. And many tobacco flavors have some cherry or vanilla in them. If you are getting headaches and nausea... sounds like you are using too strong a nic level. What strength are the cartomizers etc? Do they have a mg level? Some just say High and don't tell you what the mg of nicotine is. High can be anywhere from 18-36 mg. Someone who is much more informed than me will come along and give you all the help you'll ever need. This is a really friendly place. Again... welcome.

re: the eGo. I just bought one from same guys a few days ago. I love it. Huge vapor and flavor and really nice feel. I either direct drip or still use the SmokeStik carto. BTW... Jolly's an expert so... just sayin'... he's probably right.

There are a lot of people in this forum with more experience than I have. However, I had some of those problems too. The mouthfull of juice. Hold the carto up to a napkin/tissue and blow on the threaded end. I find this clears out the residual. No need to blow hard. Just enough to move the juice to the tissue. That almost always does it for me. Re: drops to refill. Because the wicking material differs and the consistency of the juice differs, the juice soaks down at different rates. If you can plan on it taking a little while, allowing it to sit and adding more, it will be less frustrating. Most videos don't show that because they don't have time to. Also, a toothpick down the side of the wicking material to allow the juice to flow down and soak in laterally, is sometimes helpful. If you can, always put a thread cap on the end when you are filling. It prevents the juice from flowing out and actually allows it to soak in better. Some people swear by blue filter material from a pet store (for fish tank filters). I think they mean for cartriges not cartomizers... but I'm not sure about that. Personally, I use SmokeStik cartomizers refilled with VT juice. They are more expensive and I use adapters on my 510/eGo or 808 batteries. They last a long time, never burn and I get 20-30 drops into them when refilling. (of course "drops" are relative.) I'm not a heavy vaper, but I have not had one fail yet.

The SmokeStik cartomizers are not inexpensive. But they seem to last a lot longer than other cartomizers I've used. If what you have is a 4081 style threads on the battery, then you don't need any adapter. If you opt for a 510 style (or something else) and want to use a SmokeStik cartomizer, you can get the adapter at http://www.shop.goodprophets.com/ GoodProphets is very inexpensive ($0.99 ea.) for their adapters and they list them in a way that is easy to understand. re: SmokeStik .... I don't know if they will ship from the US to Canada... I know there is a SmokeStik Canada but don't know about their practices regarding nicotine. If you call SmokeStik's customer service line, you will probably get Lorraine. She can help. (feel free to tell her I sent you ... HyOnLyph) Perhaps their other reps can help too but she's great. https://usa.smokestik.com/contact.htm Their cartomizers are refillable so if you can get the liquid, you can use it. Chris from this forum did a good video on refilling 4081 cartomizers. Does VaporTalk Store ship to Canada? If so, try some of their flavors... they are really great. I use them in SS cartos and get tons of flavor and vapor. If nicotine cartos is against the law in Canada, What do folks do in Canada who want to use ecigs???

Newb - Just Got Prosome - Looking For Harder Throat Hit!
HyOnLyph replied to pjb84's topic in New Vapers Forum
to all... isn't there some additive available out there that increases the throat hit besides voltage and nic level. I thought I saw something out there but can't remember. If I'm satisfied (regarding craving) with a lower nic level, I'd hate to increase my dependency if something else would give me the throat hit I want. -
yeah..um .... your signature really doesn't go well with the topic..... and the picture. Just sayin'!!!

Welcome. Glad you are with us. The choice of strength of Nicotine (mg/ml) isn't always about how much you smoke. It's a great place to start but it may change. My brother-in-law is a chainsmoker of unfiltered something-or-others that are supposed to be really strong. He tried some 36 mg (Ultra High) that I have and he almost passed out from the head-rush. That's why some of the more experienced people in this forum recommend that you get a variety of strengths. Purchasing a variety of strengths is the easiest way to determine what works for you. ( I have heard that some use higher strength in the AM and lower in the afternoon or for a casual vape.) Personally, I use zero nicotine now. Another alternative is to get the high nicotine and if it's too strong, cut it with Vegetable Glycerin (VG). You can buy Vegetable Glycerin at a drug store or vitamin store (even WalMart) in the lotions/cosmetics department. If you cut it, the strength is directly proportional to the % you cut it. So if you have 10 mls (quantity) of 24 mg (nicotine strength) and you add 10 mls of VG to it, you'll have 20 mls of a 12 mg mixture. Warning.. it will dilute the flavor. But at least you don't throw away eliquid. At first, I would recommned just purchasing a few different strengths. Either way, You will find a balance of strength and frequency of vaping that may not exactly coincide with your smoking habits. If you decide to try cutting your liquid, you may want to pick up an empty bottle with an eye dropper at the drug store when you buy the VG. I've had the pharmacist give them to me for free. I'll put in my plug for this forum's VaporTalkStore.com. They have amazing flavors. Their Mentha is great and can be added to other flavors to give it a little coolness. I've used their Mentha, Dulcis, Midnight and Grape. All very good. I'm partial to the Mentha and Midnight.

The Volcano Inferno is the same as a eGo but sure looks a little fancier and they are offering a more complete kit for $59. http://www.volcanoecigs.com/the-inferno.html

Sorry if I confused you. I figured since you were so pleased with Volcano that you wanted to be loyal to them. The Inferno is the same as an eGo. But the Inferno actually seems to have more stuff included in the kit. My response was based on the premise that you were choosing between the Magma and the Inferno. The Magma is the 510 clone and the Inferno is the eGo clone. Given that, I'd chose the Inferno. If I was ready to upgrade, I'd chose the Inferno over the smaller batery Magma. I am not sure about manufacurers. I know that Joye manufactures the 510 and the eGo. I don't know if the Volcano Magma and Inferno are also manufactured by Joye (and then re-branded) or if they are a different manufacturer. I've heard that the Inferno is of equal quality as the Joye eGo. By the way, I recently had the opportunity to hold the eGo type in my hand and it isn't a big as it appears in websites etc. It fits very comfortably in the hand and is easily hidden in the palm. Very nice fit.

Oops - Missile Launch Of Ca Coast
HyOnLyph replied to Brian's topic in The Vape Lounge - Off Topic Chat
These types of rockets go off all the time. About this time of year nearly every year. No mystery. It's been happening for 40+ years. -
I just want to thank Chris and everyone at VT for honoring our vets with that awesome header. That is amazing. God bless all our veterans.

Next time, put a lojack on that thing.

If I remember right, you have the V-kit. It is the least expensive kit that Volcano has and I think it's a L88B like the Blu. It got you started.. and that's a good thing. But now, you probably want quality and a long lasting battery. The Magma is a step up from the L88B to the 510 type. But not going to give you the life you want. I agree with Jolly. If I was going to step up, I'd go with an eGo type. Which is the Inferno. I really like their variety of batteries and I like the look of the engraving too. And since you've had such good luck with their customer service, there's no harm in loyalty.

Isn't Green Smoke an 808D-1 battery? Haven't a number of people found pretty good success with 808D-1 styles? If so, other than being way overpriced, what makes it worse than any other 808. I'm not disagreeing with the opinion of the GS. I've heard really bad comments about Green Smoke quality, so I'm just wondering.
-
Since it's a 4081, and IF you want to stick with the kit you have, You might want to give SmokeStik cartomizers a try. I know they are a little more expensive than normal cartos. But they are designed differently than most and never burn. They last a long time. I have not burned one out yet. (although I'm probably a light vaper) They are easy to refill. I use them with 4081 bettery and have adapters to use them with 510. They are really vaping machines. The down side is that they only come in tobacco or menthol. If you want to use your own juice, you will need to rinse them and refill. But their flavors are pretty good. Happy vaping.

Hi Erik, Are you by any chance skilled at electronics, soldering... do-it-yourself hobbies like RC cars or planes? If you are, once you get comfortable with your daily vape equipment... check out the mods section. It's pretty amazing what you can make with a couple of battery boxes, a switch and a few parts. Who knows, you may become the next Jolly.... (inside joke... resident modder). I tried to research the Volcano v-cig. It looks like it is what's called a L88B battery which is the same as a Blu. And a few other branded types. Eventually, you might want to upgrade. One thing I've noticed about some vapers.... I've seen them blow the money they are saving on something else. Instead of putting the cost of the cigarettes in a "kitty" to pay for ecig stuff, they just blow it on something else... So put the money away and save it for your ecig stuff. eCig parts are "consumables". They wear out. So Whenever you'd go and buy cigarettes, but that money in your sock drawer. Because you are going to save a lot of money... and when you do, you are gonna want to upgrade. And the money will be there.
-
I see on another thread that you already have a SafeCig. I thought you wanted to find a place for your first eCig. OK so you already know what not to buy. And you are finding the experience a little less than what you expected. I don't know one person that has been disappointed by the eGo. I haven't tried it myself because I'm short on $ and find my 510 and SS are meeting my needs nicely. I'm a light vaper. The eGo is a little larger than a regular analog or look-alike eCig. But it's actually cool looking and (from what I hear)fits really nice in the hand. If you want to go a little fancier... check out the Volcano Inferno http://www.volcanoecigs.com/the-inferno.html I have heard that it's the same as the eGo but with a little different finish and some extra stuff in the kit.

When you say "mid level"... what is the mg of the nicotine. For some suppliers mid is 24 w/ high being 30+ That's insane but everyone measures it a little differently. Also, some people tend to vape more than they smoked. It's a mental thing ... maybe afraid of not getting enough or thinking you can vape all you want since it's "healthy". Try to cut back on your nic level and purchase some zero nic juice for those times you just want a casual vape but not having the craving for the nicotine. VT's Mentha and Dulcis both come in zero nic. And their flavor is the same with or without the nicotine. Keeps us up-to-date on how you are doing. I have a feeling this is a question many people have had.

Hey HookahMan, I'm pretty surprised that someone hasn't jumped in to answer your question. The problem seems to be that the stores carry the brands that are cheaply made but very expensive. And certain products online (as recommended in this forum) are better quality and cheaper but you don't get the benefit of "hands on". IF you can find someone in your area in this forum, I'd see if you can get together.. I think that's your number one best bet. The only thing I'll say about "hands on" is that IF you must have a store to go to AND the cigarette look and feel is important to you.... the only "over the counter" eCig that I would recommend is SmokeStik. (Avoid Blu, SmokingEverywhere, SmokingAnywhere, Mall Kiosk brands, etc etc.) SmokeStik are expensive, ($99 for a starter kit w/ bonuses) but at least they are not cheaply made. I've used them and I know their quality and their customer service is great. They have a few locations in KY. https://usa.smokestik.com/show_locations.php?state=ky If the cigarette look and feel in your hand is a little less important, I'd take the advise of most people on this forum and just go with a 510 or eGo. You will invest less money and you will be happier in the long run. More likely than not... if you like vaping, you'll experiment with a variety of options. But at least your initial experience will be a happy one... and you will have spent less on the startup. On piece of advice... Take the money that you would spend on cigarettes and put it in a jar. If you are a pack-a-day smoker then put away $6-7 every day. Every time you would purchase smokes... instead put the same amount of money in a "kitty" somewhere so that you have cash to spend on ecigs. eCigs are consumables just like cigarettes. They don't last forever. Besides juice... Stuff wears out and burns up. Not nearly as expensive as cigarettes but you are going to need to spend money to keep it going. If you save the money, you'll have a lot of cash to play with other brands and mods. If you don't, you'll wonder why you have to keep spending $X every month or so to keep this going. So save the money for awhile until you get an idea of what you will want to spend on ecigs. Blessings ... and have a great time doing this.

I've never tried either. But it looks like from the research that they are basically the same. The Inferno and the eGo both have the same fittings so are compatible with 510 attys etc. IF that is the case, It kind of looks like (from your comments) the Inferno kit has a little more of what you are looking for. And to be honest, I like the finish on the Inferno better. Very cool diamond finish. I searched for reviews on line (youtube) and the Volcano reviews are almost all produced by Volcano. Very few impartial reviews if any. Tons of reviews on the eGo. You will always run into the question about whether or not the Inferno are true Joye batteries or lesser quality. Everyone here knows how long an eGo will last. But For $59 on the Inferno, it looks like it might be worth a try if the Inferno kit is more to your liking. If the USB connector on the bottom of the battery is what you are looking for, I'd probably go for it. (of course, if money is no object, you could always go for the Precise or hold out for production of the ShockWave http://forcedfuel50.fatcow.com/id78.html . ) sorry.... slip into dreamstate. I yield this opinion to anyone out there that has experience with either or both.
-
They must be out of stock on the higher nic level. Hang on, he'll get some more... then go for it. Also, while you're waiting... check out Midnight. It's my personal favorite out of all of VT juices. But they don't do zero nic in Midnight and I don't do nicotine. [heavy sigh]

Whoa, I looked right past that one. I was assuming it was a big bat. That's pretty cool to get a 6 volt that small.
