  1. Thought I'd let you guys know how my first try with these went. Ok got some of these XL ce2's from clouds of vapor yesterday. They are the 2.5 ohm ones. First impressions where poor. When trying to fill them the little straw like plastic syringe tip bent like a straw would and made it impossible to push it into the hole. I ended up just using a large gauge metal tip and just sticking it right on top of the hole and this seems to work much better than trying to get the little tip in there. I filled it with a mill or two and put it on my joker. I had the joker set at 5.1volts or whatever I had it at previously for regular cartos. The first hit was fine but after two burnt taste. 2.5ohms is no place for 5volts . I turned down the voltage to 3.77 but it still had trouble keeping the wick wet. I would have to let it sit for a minute between vapes. Very displeased so I got fed up and tossed them aside. Today I started playing with them again. After a night they seem to have hit their stride. I switched them to my homemade 3.7 box mod and for whatever reason they work great. In fact they work better than any other atty on it. unloaded it is at 3.88v the dropout voltage is surely more than the jokers .1 but I don't know why it works well on it and not on the joker. If I turn the joker down to 3.6 maybe thet will solve it. I guess in this case the manufacturer knows what they mean when they say 3,7 no higher. The vapor production is great and the flavor is too, throat hit is lacking with 12mg juice. When using regular cartos I would have to drip after 10-15 vapes and that would decline to dripping nearly as much as a standard atty in a day or two. These seem like they will go for hours maybe even a day. (I vape around 2 ml per day) Won't know until tomorrow. So even a small diff in voltage can be the difference between unusable and decent.
  2. Well picked up a joker av and it is great. Wish they thought to put a little lip near the atty connector to help with any leaks. Not that it makes it less awesome. Only problem I have found is the endcap. Didn't know why at first but it wouldn't work every once and a while. Hitting it would get it to work again but that made me worried. Tuned out that the endcap is very loose. It doesn't really snug up so if it backs out even very slightly it won't get a good connection. Could just be mine. Anyone else notice this?
  3. Just got mine in and i agree. I have not used any high voltage mods before. Had a 5v passthrough from china but this destroys it at 5v. Pretty much solved every gripe i've had with pv's since I started vaping! Regulated is a must.
  4. Had some cheap Chinese attys lying around that never worked well since I got them. Always tasted funny and seemed "plugged up". Took the wick out to see what this was all about. It seems to have solved the problem. Switched to cartos a couple months ago this may get me to buy some regular attys. Awesome thanks for the info.
  5. I bought one of these from electronicstix 3 months ago to get away from weak standard 510 batteries that left me high and dry while at the bar when I would vape like no tomorrow, I used it with a wall adapter and it was my on the go vape as well coupled with a usb power pack. Must say it has much more than paid for itself at $15. Within the first few weeks the plastic led cover fell off requiring glue. It fell off again and I didn't bother doing anything. I would just push it back on when it fell off. Near exactly on the 3 month mark the connection from the wire to board is going. If the wire is moved much it will disconnect and reconnect doing the blink 5 times deal and then will work again. Luckily I put in an order for a joker av the day this started. When it is plugged into the wall adapter it has great performance. On the battery or computer usb there is a noticeable drop in throat hit and vapor. It has served me well but I think it has come time to retire it. Just though I would let you know how the unit holds up after being used every day all day for 3 months as my main pv.
  6. agreed I use the ones from electronicstix and they have all been fine. Some better than others but fairly consistent. I refill many many times. Right now I'm using one that I cleaned with alcohol that is working ok from at least a month ago.
  7. I have pretty much switched to cartomizers but I do clean them. I still have 3 of my original cartos from my first pack and they still produce reasonably good vapor. I also clean them to use different flavors in the same one. I just throw them into a cup with rubbing alcohol (90%) and let them soak over night. I would like to use everclear as that isn't toxic and evaporates quicker but it's hard to come by and this is fine as long as you let them dry fully. In the morning i take a syringe and squirt it through a few times to clean out any remaining juice blow it out and let it dry. Doing this makes cartomizers last as long as stadard attys did for me. (after 3 months I could still use the first one I used if I wanted)
  8. Well got some DV flavors in and I am very pleased. The tiramisu is indeed tasty. I was very surprised how close to rhubarb they got with rhubarb crumble. Roast beef I like the least. Curiosity got the better of me on that one. It is vapable but I may need to give it some time or more flavor added to get it where I want it. All in all I like these DV flavors more than loranns.
  9. Hello there just wanted to and some info that helps me when diy mixing. One thing i recommend is getting some syringes. you can get these for very little money. $5 for 5 or so. I use 10ml syringes and have some 3ml coming to make flavoring measuring easier. just seams much easier to get exactly the amount you want faster. I looked at the calculator you use and it does work if you use the ml measurements but the drops are skewed to the person that made it. I use a couple calculators but the easiest is this online version http://www.todmuller...uice/ejuice.php This is just as good as some excel based calculators with less functionality, but I think it will work great for your purposes. ejuce_calculatorv11.zip This is an excel based calculator which is pretty cool. has recipes and it allows you to mix juices of diff strengths to make desired juice if needed. If you want to use a vg/pg mix you can divide up the value for non nic liquid however you want. You have a calc problem for sure which is why I like syringes. They will get a consistent ml measurement without all of the counting drops which vary with diff equipment. calculators often use values determined by the creators which change depending on what they use when making juice. Grab up some syringes and your problem will be solved. For example I like to make 15mg juice at 12ml. It comes to and even 3ml 60mg nic base / 3ml flavoring at 25% / 6ml of pg/vg. with syringes it is very quick and easy to make a bottle. 1 minute and you are set. gl and happy vaping. ejuce_calculatorv11.zip
  10. I ran the numbers through a juice calculator and for 33.95 you can either purchase 60ml @ 100mg / or 125ml @ 60mg for the same price. At a 15mg juice I could create 400ml from the 60ml 100mg base and 500ml with the 125ml at 60mg. So thats what I meant with the extra 100ml of juice. Just thought I would throw it out there that it would be more cost effective to use 60mg base at these prices. I checked 500ml at 60 and it is even more efficient. $10 less than 250ml at 100mg and you can create 335ml more juice at 15mg/ml. interesting... So $90 for 500ml of 60 is a pretty good deal I guess.
  11. I am a cheapskate when it comes to pv's so I have been looking for good cheap mixing supplies to drop the cost of vaping even more. I got some 60mg strength base for $45 for 60ml. I recently found some for $35 for 125ml at freedomsmokes. turns out it is more efficient to use 60mg strength as opposed to 100mg 60ml at the same price (100ml more yield). This is the cheapest I've found I was just wondering if anyone has found better or if this is as cheap as it gets.
  12. I wanted to know if anyone has tried cleaning and reusing older cartos. After a month on my first 5 I got 10 more in and boxed up the old ones. Since I wasn't going to use them anymore and there was a ton of old juice in em I thought I would try and clean them. Soaked them in alcohol over night and used a syringe to rinse the alcohol through a few times. After letting them dry and blowing them out refilled them and what do you know they work like new again! Anyone else had such luck?
  13. I tend to use the condom fill method on the first fill of an empty carto. After the first fill I switch to dripping in the end because there is alot of residual juice left in there and condom filling has too much juice when there is still juice in the carto.
  14. I've been hearing alot about this decadent vapor flavorings and tiramisu. I've only tried some lorann flavoring to limited effect. Is DV the best way to go? Any fav flavors I should know about?
  15. Glad to hear you got it ironed out. Carotmizers eh? Now you're talking! Love em!
  16. I started using cartos last month. My first 5 lasted me all month. 30 days exactly. When my next ten got in I stopped using the old ones but I probably still could. After a while some juice starts collecting in the filler. I made sure when that started happening to vape more before filling again. I wait until the filler is pretty much white again to make sure I get most of the old juice out of there. There is some slight vapor drop after a couple days but it stays steady after that. That was my test month and I decided if they lasted me 30 days it would be worth while. They did so I'm a happy camper. Tried a regular atty (knockoff) and it was absurd how little flavor I was getting from it. Cartos at 5v can't be beat imo. good luck
  17. I have switched to using cartos. That blue foam was the best filler I used when I was on standard carts. Should work great. Can't beat the flavor with cartos though.
  18. The PT with battery in line will do the trick if you like 3.7 volts. The one without battery runs at 5v and on the battery pack with 5v as well. Oh and there is a pretty awesome battery meter built into the battery pack so you know how much charge you have.
  19. Didn't think about it before but I never had the urge to crack a window. The only reason I used to is I never liked the smell of cigs at all especially when in an unventilated space.
  20. I would recommend getting one without the inline battery if you don't plan to use the unplugged PT to vape on the go. And if you want the extra battery life get a PT without the battery and buy a usb battery pack (such as the apc upb10 instead). This configuration will give you an extremely long battery life (1600mah), as well as a PT to vape at a computer or wall usb adapter while at 5v and give you 5v (maybe a little less) on the go. This has been the best and cheapest solution I could find.
  21. Hail to the carto! Just tried to go back to regular 510 and before all of the vapor left my lungs i was screwing a carto back on!
  22. Vanilla and RY4. until my mixing supplies arrive...then peanut butter cups!
  23. had to weigh in on this flavor issue. I have been using cartos for a month now (still using 3 of the original 5). I was getting to the end of the life of my first box. So thinking I would grab a couple of normal 510 attys as I hadn't used one in a while. Got them in and I have to say I went right back to the cartos and ordered another 10 of them. The flavor was just gone! I didn't realize how much better the flavor was until I tried standard attys again. I think I've been converted!
  24. I don't know how comfortable I feel about using these sweeteners from a health and safety standpoint. Eating some of these sweeteners has shown to have negative health effects, let alone inhaling them... edit: I wonder if ready made juices already have these in them. I don't like the idea.
  25. I found a few things around the forums. Have you tried an e liquid calculator? I also came across a list someone compiled as to the vapability of lorann flavorings. Good luck. excel based : ejuce_calculatorv11.zip online calc: http://www.todmuller.com/ejuice/ejuice.php Lorann vape list: LorAnn Flavourings.pdf ejuce_calculatorv11.zip LorAnn Flavourings.pdf
