  1. Interesting.... It's the same with guitars (and other musical instruments). You can buy an "american made" instrument (and Thats debateable itself as some components are imported for sure) but the Amercan made instrument is going to cost you 3 - 5 times the cost of an import. And the damning thing is the quality of the imports is exceptional! You can buy a quality guitar for $1500 and less while you will pay upwards of $3000 and more for something comparable with a name. How do you compete with that? Is that not the success story of Toyota and others? I dont know what to do either but it doesnt give me much choice when recommending instruments to students.....
  2. Welcome. We have a few people here from Virginia but dont know anything specific to NoVa. I'm sure some will chime in.
  3. Lol I feel better now, thanks guys. I did a deep cleaning, you know, where they get out all the gizmos and scrape from your toes up? Yeah, real fun.... But there's a RC coming according to the doc so, oh boy, I get to do it again! Yay I just hadn't been numbed up since I started vaping and it was really weird.
  4. I can't feel it but I see vapor.... .....yes, I'm looking for all the sympathy I can muster up.
  5. Can you guys speak up? I'm having a hard time hearing you...
  6. Ive been trying to get warning points for over a year now. No luck. Im pretty sure only you can see your own warning points. We can't see yours.
  7. Even though, technically, vaping 2 x 6mg is the same amount of nicotine as 1/2 the amount in 12mg, comp is right. You have to vape twice as much over a longer period of time to get that nicotine and if you've been dipping and not spitting I would venture to say you should start at 24mg and I wouldn't even worry about getting too much until you notice that it's too much. You'll be able to tell. Minimally I would go with 18mg but it sounds like you're a candidate for 24mg IMO.
  8. ....pics.....we love pics around here.... Nothing incriminating of course...
  9. I want full reports when you get back. New gear, juices to die for etc etc...
  10. I would stay away from anything advertised on TV or anything sold at a location that sells anything other than vape supplies.
  11. Wet wick won't wick well Well, what wick will wick? When will wick wick well? Well, willy, when wick wry
  12. Water is not easily vaped and most people reject it. You can thin a juice very slightly but has to be mixed well. Also water will inhibit the wick from wicking. Dry it up best you can imo
  13. Yeah two things can happen with a coil. 1 is they have a flow rate that is faster than can be vaped and the juice just drips off the coil into the battery. Sometimes this happens with a brand new coil. The other is, as the coil gets used it gets a build up of gunk right at the coil and the wick loses it's ability to hold juice like a sponge and the juice being pulled in just rolls off the coil in to the battery. You'll notice this one if your tank seems to be chugging along fine or maybe it does fine for a few hits but as soon as you pause or put it down for a minute when you come back to it, it's gurgling. Not much to do but change the coil. Some juices just are worse offenders, especially the ones you love.
  14. Mine was lazy, though. you posted the images so you get bonus points.

  16. John Denver wrote this in 1966 but PP&M made it famous first All my tanks are packed I'm ready to go I'm vapin' here outside your door I hate to wake you up to say goodbye But the dawn is breakin' It's early morn The taxi's waitin' He's blowin' his horn My battery's so low That it could die So kiss me and smile for me Tell me you have my USB Back ups are what I need before I go 'Cause I'm vapin' on a jet plane Don't know when I can charge again Oh babe, I love Ego There's so many times my vape's run down 600 mah just makes me frown My Ego's flashing, babe I tell you now Ev'ry place I go, I'll think of you Ev'ry vape I take, I'll vape for you I'll bring your charger back I do vow So kiss me and smile for me Lend me 'least your USB Gotta charge my Ego on the go 'Cause I'm vapin' on a jet plane Don't know when I can charge again Oh babe, I Love Ego But, I'm vapin' on a jet plane Don't know when I'll be back again Oh babe, I hate to go
  17. Right, because airflow traveling over the coil intesifies the vapor production. But it has to be in a correct ratio to be effective much like the air/gas ratio in an internal combustion engine. Without that correct ratio you have inefficiency. Have you ever fired a coil without giving it airflow? It's not like it spits out a ton of vapor until you give it airflow. Even blowing across a coil being fired shows much more vapor. I know this varies depending on the device but you can even just fire off your ego and tank without sucking and it does practically nothing...
  18. I think there may be some differences between tanks and dripprrs, particularly sub ohming. I can see how excessive air can diminish flavor. There seems to be more to it than just airflow and there seems to be an optimum airflow in either case. There are just enough other factors in play that you can't pin it just on airflow. I find it intriguing that there is so much difference between devices that have the same juice and the same coil.
  19. 18 months and as happy as a clam (how happy are clams?) on ego battery and tank. I get all the vapor and all the taste I want, I have saved $$ and my "smoking budget" has dropped to like $50/ month (for 2 people). AND NO ANALOGS!
  20. I didn't touch the davide. It does just fine on it's own. (I'm buying more of these, 2ml or not) The smallest bit I could find on a quick trip to the hardware store was a 1/16th (.062). The original air holes in the protank appear to be roughly 1/32. I drilled out 2 of the three holes and it was probably a little too much. Using rough math, a hole twice as large gives 4Xs the airflow so as it turns out. Drilling 1 hole out to 1/16 was enough to give better performance and is about right. Drilling 2 was not a deal breaker bit probably too much and more than necessary. I drilled out 1 hole on the evod and it wasn't quite enough so I drilled out 2 it was a good improvement. The result: drilling out the protank and the evod greatly improved both vapor and flavor production. However, they still do not meet the Davide as equal. I suspect there are a couple of other factors: 1. The evod is plastic - enough said. Plastic tanks just don't measure up to glass 2. I suspect fine tuning is necessary based on coil resistance and voltage ( an argument for airflow control). Either engineered hole size or more simply airflow control base. 3. Design: there are other design differences in the tanks - capacity, length of chimney, diameter of chimney, inherent restiance in body and base etc... Conclusion - much can be improved by adjusting airflow, either by drilling out holes or using airflow control in combination with voltage and resistance but NOTHING BEATS A GOOD DESIGN!
  21. The answer lies in airflow That is for sure Read my next post And I'll give you the cure! .....maybe.
