  1. I think it's more of a moral issue than a health issue, personally. I generally don't vape around other people unless they are vaping too. But honestly I can't say that is completely without danger to others. We just don't fully know yet. I'm willing to take the risk for myself, because I personally belief it's much safer than smoking. But I won't impose that on others. It's not my choice to do that to them. Do I take a vape now and again in the house when others are around? Sure. Do I flaunt it? No. I stealth vape here and there. I make it work because I believe there is minimal risk in second hand vape. Minimal.
  2. I get it now, Rixter. Thanks! One of the beauties of this device is how airflow plays on temperature. Less airflow means more temperature. Dryness means more temperature. So this unit corrects for that automatically. That is awesome. I used to wonder why my wife was harder on coils than I am. Now I see the difference in vaping styles. I like an airy pull. My wife tends to just fire the coil and nurse the pull. This would correct that automatically. This is pretty awesome.
  3. Sorry I just saw you posted a video Rixter. I'll check that out. It would seem to follow that if the coil is so regulated, that it would be the equivalent of just vaping with lower voltages. Perhaps this is not an issue with lightweight vaping gear - 1.8 coils running 3.7 V, for example. Doesn't seem like you'd run in to temperature problems at 8 or 9 watts.
  4. Interesting. Is it automatic? In other words does it adjust for change in coil resistance? Or maybe I should ask - does it limit by voltage or by actual temperature, and how does it sense this? Just curious.
  5. Ok. Clue me in. What is temperature control and how does it work?
  6. The sweet-vapes site says that the airflow adjuster didn't function fully and reports that others are reporting the same thing. Let us know what you find.
  7. Yeah nothing wrong with trying to knock out the nic. Many have done it successfully. My advice, dont fret about weening yourself off nic. You can do it fairly rapidly. Much of what you are craving in a vape can be gotten from the nic. Trying to do it cold turkey like that reduces your success rate with vaping. Believe me, more people solve their dissatisfaction with vaping by upping their nic levels to get them off cigs. I would say a great majority attribute our success with vaping by dialing in the correct nic amount first. After that, you knock it down. One guy recently went from max nic down to nothing in a very short span of time. Different strokes for different folks. Just my opinion in what may work for you.
  8. What Tam has given you is solid advice. It will be miles ahead of those 7-11 rip-off packs. And you will likely be satisfied for some time. Honestly, I've been vaping for 2 years and the standard ego batteries and the pro tanks are my daily go to devices. They're easy to use and maintain, discreet and make good flavor and vapor with the right juice. That'll give you plenty of time to try out other stuff if you think you'll need more than that later. If you have an actual vape shop near you (vape only - no wanna be smoke shops) you can always stop in and check the gear and see what you like but just make sure you talk to somebody who knows what they're doing. They'll help you out to. Welcome aboard.
  9. Ha! My first car was a '68 square back .....
  10. The taxes on ONE PACK of cigarettes in New York is $5.36..... In Tennessee and Kentucky its $1.62.....That's from 2013 I hope we get off a little easier than that.
  11. Yeah, I get a light, natural fruit with nutty notes and an ambient creamy overlay that blossoms on the palate as if saying 'I'm not quite finished tasting so good just yet' - something like that.
  12. Chantix is still going strong in California. At least I think it's Chantix.....I don't remember to well because 50 seconds of the 1 minute commercial is spent giving you all the horrible and deadly side effects.... Truly sorry, George.
  13. And on a related subject - I don't know what it's like anywhere else but in California when there is a fender bender you you get 3 cop cars and a firetruck minimum, lol. Just an example of the bloated bureaucracy that can take place. Of course I'm sure there are other factors involved - possible liability and litigation and so forth but it really is approaching the ridiculous sometimes...
  14. I use as high as 30/70 in my pro tanks with no problem, however, I do rebuild my own coils and I make my coils a little larger than stock and take care to wick them in a way that promotes wicking action. (increased diameter, japanese cotton and the proper amount)
  15. At least the article is fairly honest with regard to source. It clearly names WHO as the instigator and driving force. It also gives factual data on the number of incidents and the dangers of consumers misusing the equipment. There are some positives there. But as Earthling states there is an agenda and this is the beginning of legitimizing the "war on vape". It only goes downhill from here, sad to say. There is a ton of tax money and government job justification in the balance. And we know how that plays out. Best we can hope for is to delay the inevitable. I hate to be so cynical but history has shown this is the way it goes. I havent even looked yet - is that a crab pot?
  16. I don't know.....at nearly $2.50 a coil I don't think that's such a great deal. Trouble with these high performance coils is they are great for a few days and then they drop off quickly. If you are a heavy vaper then you're looking at a little expense but if that's cool then no big deal. But then if you like to tinker then you could get in to rebuilding it using the RBA function and it may be okay.
