  1. Welcome TnPat. You won't regret it!
  2. TC for me but i have a couple tanks that wont take a TC coil (not enough space on the deck) and I use kanthal builds. In order of importance: Flavor Coil longevity Vapor volume TC does that. I am similar in settings. On a single coil build temp 460ish and low mid 20sW. I make up for vapor in the juice. Im not a cloud chaser in particular, in fact most of thetime I prefer the clouds dialed back unless im outside
  3. Ducky - have you ever tried/reviewed juices from Lightning Vapes?
  4. Are you dry burning the coil before you rewick?
  5. Cotton is cheap. I like to change cotton out every few days. Takes a couple minutes. I let my TC coils go longer because they last longer. But I change flavors a lot too so I'm always changing out cotton. I'm gonna try the bacon. Cuz I like bacon.
  6. If you mean rebuilding factory premade coils, I don't bother. It's too easy to just build your own on an RBA section.
  7. Machine? I've never used the Melo if that's what you mean. I use the Kanger sub tank mini for all my TC stuff. Im happy.
  8. If you have a way to observe your read out as you vape (usually a mirror is needed) you can check out your temps as you fire the unit. If your temp rockets up to the limit too quickly, you probably have wattage set too high. When you hit the temp limit it shuts down your wattage and your coil dies. It stops applying power until temp drops. With too high a wattage you getca weak vape. Ideally you want to have it barely skate up to temp limit or not reach it so its still applying power to the coil. Remember, temp control loves airflow. Too little airflow will make you hit limit too fast too. You will learn a lot by reading thread. "Let's Talk Temp Control"
  9. With temp control, the battery should be regulating the wattage automatically - in other words, even if you set your wattage to 50w the temp function would attenuate the wattge down. However if you are burnining coils and/or cotton then you probably have temp limit set too high. I would start at 450 and regulate it up or down slightly from there. Somewhere in there you will find the sweet spot with your juice. It can vary between juices. Setting temp limit too high defeats the purpose of temp control. You should get decent vapor still but you won't get cloud blowing vapor on that set up. This will only work on the Ni and Ti, not the kanthal.
  10. He can't be dead.... But yikes. How do you get out of that! That was intense....
  11. I have both V1 and V2. The V2 is definitely more air. Not by a lot, but noticeable. im sorry I haven't been following close enough, but airflow is also dependent on coil build and wicking on the RBA section. It's not just about the slot settings but also size of coil, how much wick, how low or high the coil sits...
  12. speaking of which.....don't forget to order a couple extras...
  13. That's interesting. I never noticed because it's silly - I mean I don't that you'd ever run it lower especially in sub ohm. So I guess it's kind of moot. Anyway, I did a little experiment where I dropped a .6 ohm coil down to 7 watts and it definitely is firing the coil at what would appear to be a higher voltage. I did a bit further research and it seems that it will step down to the battery's minimum voltage output and it appears to be so. As I said I, think it's a non issue because I can't think of a time when you would fire a sub ohm coil at that low of a voltage anyway. When I do just an empiric test there doesn't seem to be much of a difference when I fire a .5 ohm coil at 7w up to about 15 or 16w, then it starts to jump up so there's definitely something going on there.
  14. can you explain that Jason? Because mine definitely steps down......???
  15. I am crazy about my IPV D2. It is awesome, comfortable, compact, simple and has the option for temp control if you so desire. You also can charge it without taking the battery out if you want.
  16. Ok, wow. I'm happy. I thought I was going to be waiting forever for my caps but I got the package today and all is right with the world. I'm impressed with 3AVape. Everything I received was authentic and I couldn't be happier with them.
  17. Are you buying 100 mg/ml? Do you know what pg/vg ratio you want to end up with? You will have to add vg with no nic as well if you are shooting for 50/50
  18. I went a little crazy this week..... 2 more subtank minis - black and SS Replacement caps for the invader mini 2 more carbon fiber wide drip tips 2 more batts and cases 1 sub box mini kit 1 IPV D2 mini 70W TC mod (I wanted something a little more elegant than he invader mini) Assorted wire and japanese cotton. A bunch of juice..... I think I'm going to need an organizer...haha
  19. Did you try lifting the center pin on the charger as well? The green light on the charger would indicate it's not making contact. Ir your battery is dead. Check the condition of the charger center pin. If you don't clean your battery before putting it on the charger it will gunk up the charger or corrode the charger contact and then it's toast.
  20. Probably the center pin on the battery is not making contact with the charger. This comes from screwing your tank on too tight. Gently lift the center pin on the battery.
