  1. People vaping cannabis refer to "vaping oils" which contain thc. My guess is it's not eliquid and he's vaping it at too high a temp.
  2. Yes high nic will give that sensation but also high PG content in your juice will do that. You can try increasing the VG content of the juices you use (use juice with higher VG like 60 or 70%). Gradually dropping the nic will help over time but dropping too fast might not satisfy you. Congratulations, and good luck.
  3. Still 23mm wide? 1300 mah, though. Still, I like it. Stealthy little sucker.
  4. I've got 8 of those babies. They're awesome.
  5. You DONT want those coils you posted although the second one might work but I wouldn't. It doesnt save you jack.
  6. The short answer is since you have no experience rebuilding coils, taking on the dual coil pro tank 3 will be a challenge. You could rebuid them as single coils but don't xpect the same performance. I personally would not choose silica wicking material. Most people generally agree cotton tastes better and gives better performance. You would still need a coil winding tool regardless of wick material. If I were you, I would do a youtube search on rebuilding kanger pro tank coils so you can get an idea of what you are getting in to. You may find a specific video on the pro tank 3. Start there Notice his description is a 9 wrap 28ga coil on a 1.5mm rod. He's doing single coils
  7. They don't I'm pretty sure. She must mean the 60W, huh?
  8. You pretty much have it although no one hss ever made me take anything apart. Frankly it's ust been ignored. They know what it is. I just put everything in s clear baggie in my carry on and send it through the scanner. No biggie. I haven't flown in a couple of months. I vape discreetly in the airport but i dont blow clouds and I bring a higher pg content to minimize it. That's about it.
  9. .8 ohm is my go to on the RBA on the subtank mini. It's delicious and it doesn't chase everybody out. For fun I go to .5 but it's rare.
  10. If you do not have a specific setting for temp control of stainless steel then You are safest to use power mode provided that your battery can handle the amp limit. Personally I do not like to mix modes with materials not designed for that mode. It is not reliable. The VTC mini is a great box mod that can handle Ni, Ti or SS as well as Kanthal. As for wattage setting - that is more or less a matter of taste and experimentation. It's a little like asking what should I set my thermostat in my house to? I don't know - where do you live? Alaska or the tropics? At .25 ohm I would start at 35ish and work it up or down to taste.
  11. Nah. I call bs. Nowhere near 1% even if you could argue that the flavoring contains trace amounts (nearly immeasurable ) of nic. I think you can safely consider 0 nice to be 0 nic. The only other way 0 nic juice could contain any nic would be in sloppy manufacturing. Highly suspect assertion.
  12. Not higher temperature. TC is designed to shut down the coil at a specific temperature no matter the resistance. .5 is kind of high resistance for a nickel coil. Are you sure it's Nickel? I might be some other temp control material such as titanium or stainless steel. In in any case, it shouldn't matter much difference. It's kind of unusual that a company make a .25 and a .5 nickel coil. I can't speak authoritatively on this. It just doesn't make much sense to me
  13. Something wrong there. That's a mystery. Temp ceiling is usually about 600...... Mystery solved. 315 is degrees Celsius or the equivalent of 600 F that is probably set too high. Switch over to F. Or set it to about 220 or something
  14. Sorry just I re read your post. You should set to TC mode set wattage at about 30 and temp to about 450. Bump up the temp first if it's not enough. Then increase the wattage to maybe 35 - 40.
  15. Those, to me are all indications that your airflow is not set correctly. I'm not familiar with that tank specifically but that's where I'd start with it. High heat, no vapor means no or little airflow or improper airflow over the coil. After that it's juice and wicking.
  16. Are you using temp control coils (ss, Ni)? Or are you using kanthal. If you are not using temp control then you want to set the vtc to regular power mode and set your wattage to roughly 25W and work up from there til you get a satisfying vape.
  17. Yeah, ok. That mod cannot use .1 ohm Ni. Coils. You need the regulated TC mod (temp control) for that coil. You likely put that battery nearly under a direct short trying that coil. It sounds like you may have been reading something about the tesla steampunk TC mod and not realizing the difference. I don't know. You also might not have any kind of short circuit control on that mech mod. I'd be really careful in the future and not go too low res on that mech mod. You are very lucky!
  18. Is it the mechanical mod or the box mod? There's really only one reason a battery behaves that way. Too low of resistance matched up with an inadequate battery that can't handle the power. I'm glad you are ok. Consider yourself lucky. since you don't specify exactly what you are using it's kind of tough to troubleshoot.
  19. Hi Patricia sounds like your coil pin is stuck in the center of the internal threads of the spinner. Since the pin is not threaded, it's probably just jammed in there. And probably has a little juice in there making it sticky. That's a tough one. You might try swabbing it to clean it as much as possible. Then try inverting the spinner and working it with a needle. You could also try using a can of compressed air like they use to clean computer or electronic components and see if that will knock it out. good luck.
  20. Hi Pete. You only named the mod (battery and brain) but didn't name the tank you are using! Obviously the mod can't "leak" but only the tank. What tank are you using? Maybe we can help you. I find my VTC mini to be flawless but I top it with the youde zephyrus or the Kanger sub tank.
  21. With a little bit of experience and a little bit of mechanical aptitude there is no question in my mind that performance is far superior in DIY coils. In minutes I can make coils that far outperform any pre made coils. It's not even a contest, lol. They last longer and you can dial in the exact resistance that suits your vaping style. Not to mention you can make them for pennies on the dollar literally. It's the way to go if you are inclined. Pre mades are convenient and perform okay but it ends there.
  22. Yeah, Tam. I agree. Given how popular ecigs are, I see them quite frequently in my area. Those numbers seem low. Honestly, I see more people using e-cigs these days than I see regular smokers. its interesting that the whole tone of the article is kind of Ho-hum, no big deal like the FDA isn't even concerned because the market is so small. I find this hard to believe - at least, in my area with half a dozen quality vape shops (and a bunch more that aren't so great) vaping is big business.
  23. I suspect that your coil position may be bad. I spent a little time trying to find a build. It looks like the airflow comes from the top down across the coils then back up the chimney thru the mouth piece. It's a design I am not used to. But it looks like the position of the inner piece relative to the coils is critical. If your coils are positioned correctly make sure the top air shafts are positioned over the coils. I will try to find a good picture but they are hard to come by lol. This guy does a nice hi def video. At about the 7min mark you can see the position of the coils. Hopefully it matches your build. Good luck.
