  1. I like squid's idea too. Only other thing I can offer is to thin out the cotton ends if you are using anything over 50 VG. I've found that a wispy wick flows better for higher VG
  2. Way to go, Brian! Seems like it was just yesterday when we joined. We've had some good times!
  3. Both. Sounds like your posts were drilled incorrectly.
  4. I get it now. Yeah I don't have that problem on mine. The coil leg compresses nicely on a flat surface.
  5. Can you tell us what RDA you are using? Single coil? Dual? What size and type of wire? Any pics? .77 is not too low. I would expect you to be somewhere in the 15 - 20W range.
  6. I love the Zephrus and I have 2 of them. I have both versions. V1 cannot really take a nickel build but V2 has a feature where you can do a single coil build. I don't know how you can do a dual coil nickel build on them. Just not enough room. im having a little trouble understanding your problem by your description. Nickel is much softer. Are you tightening the screws too much? I don't know based on your description what you are running in to. I look forward to some pictures and maybe I can help. I have not had the problem of the screws shearing off the legs unless they are too tight.
  7. You should give Comp's Margarita a shot. One of the best Lime vapes Ive had. Another great Lime is Ripe Vapes Key Lime Cookie - delish
  8. Goes to show you how temp is very critical for flavor. Often overlooked as most tend to just vape the hottest they can before burning. ☺
  9. No gloves. No eye wear. No nothing lol.
  10. Long story short... Dashed out to a brand new B & M in my neighborhood. It is literally 1 1/2 blocks from me. Now, this B & M is the newest one of a very successful chain around here. I had to pick up a quick juice. They make a decent house brand that is very vapable and priced reasonably. Any way. Of course they don't have 3mg in what I want so the girl pops off the top of a 0mg bottle and drops 3 drops of (presumably nic haha) in to a 30 ml gives it a couple shakes (its a 30/70 blend) and hands it to me. She does this right on the counter in front of me. Am I reacting badly? Wtf? I've never seen this before. Has anybody seen this before? I gotta tell you, it didn't sit well with me and I dont know, it was just a little too casual. Plus, i felt like I had to mix that sucker up a little more, lol. It just struck me as odd...
  11. Drop it to 16w Up your VG ratio? Pretty much purely a function of power and frequency although higher vg will give you more vapor. Also, higher nic might satisfy you longer.
  12. Thanks for coming back to publicly get your flogging! JK. Jump back on. Plenty of room.
  13. Welcome back to vaping! Im just going to leave some tips and advice. Rich is correct - the lower the ohm of your coil, the higher the wattage is required to fire that coil. That leads to shorter battery life. And that drops significantly fast below .5ohms. It also leads to lots of heat so it's not unusual that your tank is getting hot. I find vaping around .6 - .8 to be a happy medium, especially if you are in a situation where you can't easily swap out batteries. It's a good trade off between battery life and vapor production. next is airflow. Airflow over the coil is key to good vapor production. The lower the resistance, the more airflow you need to get the vapor production. So vaping below 1 ohm you'll likely be using wide open airflow on your tank. Good airflow also reduces heat. Tanks differ and you may find yourself experimenting with different tanks to find the differences and what you prefer. Vaping at at lower resistance and higher wattages can really shorten coil life. This is why many of us get in to building our own coils and rebuilding/rewicking. Keeps the coil fresh and optimum vapor production and flavor. Store bought pre made coils are pretty good these days but they don't last as long as your own builds. Pre made coils also vary in performance so there is some experimenting there to find what you like. juice - juices vary as well. Some like lower wattages and some like higher. Some burst with flavor and some are dull. Not all juices are created equal. Dark sweet juices will wreck a coil faster than lighter juices. Airflow plays a part here as well. Low airflow tends to cook the juice on the coil reducing its life. Thinner juices tend to vape faster with lower vapor production while thicker juices can take more wattage and produce more vapor. Temperature control (nickel/Titanium etc) adds another level of complication best left alone for the new vaper. Or have somebody who knows it well demonstrate it for you. It requires proper settings and experimentation to set it up correctly and make it satisfying. It is more significant to low ohm/high watt builds where "dry" hits are a problem (wick running dry). Hope that helps. Feel free to ask questions. Many here to help you.
  14. This is just a total guess based on your picture but it appears to be something like an 8 wrap 24 gauge on a 2.5mm which puts it at about .6 ohms. With the dual coil that would make it roughly .3ohm build on that deck. Just a wild guess so Shen's suggestion is just about right on.
  15. Freezing contracts the metal and if you're lucky the two parts will contract differently and they may come apart. Its a little trouble, but you could also try running glass end of base under very hot water taking care not to heat up knurled base. Press like you would to open a child safety cap - towards the bottle instead of away from the bottle (counterintuitive).
  16. 1. Try freezing it for a few minutes 2. Wrap a post it note around base, sticky side down. Works better than rubber band. Wash and dry hands well before trying. 3. Put slight amount of pressure in (counterintuitive) instead of out , in other words, press it together as you twist instead of pulling it apart as you twist. 4. Might be cross threaded? That could be a problem.
  17. Yeah. I just checked and those coils are not compatible although they look very similar. but yes, you can pair just about any tank with any mod. The only thing you have to watch out for is some mods can handle temp control and some can't. That's only important if you are using temp control coils. If you are using a temp control coil, you'll need to set the mod on temp control mode. Otherwise not a problem. I believe the IPv4 has temp control so just set the mode correctly for the tank/coil you are using.
  18. I wouldn't count on it being a perfect fit unless it specifically says so. You can't go by looks. Many appear to be the same to the eye but are not compatible. Does the YouTube vid specifically show that atomizer working with the vapeston?
  19. Are you experienced? (Cue Jimi). Cuz I don't see any advantage to unregulated. You'll have to fine tune your coil building,. Deal with voltage drop. I don't know, it might be true that with regulated you have more things that can fail in your rig but these days any reputable company making regulated mods that are reliable is the way to go. More consistent power you can control. Kinda no brainier for me. Build your coils and dial up the heat you want. Pretty simple. The only way to control power on an unregulated box is precise coil building. Hey, I'm no hardcore vaper but simple is better in my view. If you're a hobbyist and a tinkerer and you have lots of time for trial and error, go for it . JMO
  20. If you're going to use premade coils at that low of resistance you better plan on buying coils frequently. You just aren't going to get much life out of them until you get to the point where you are building them yourself and rewicking them. That's the trade off with hi watt coils. The factors that contribute to coil life are proper air flow and the type and content of your juice. Some juices are coil wreckers. Particularly dark sweet juices. Without enough airflow the juice just cooks on the coil shortening it's life. These hi watt premade coils are a bit of a scam. They're fantastic for a day or so and then they're gone. The saving grace is using a tank that lets you rebuild/rewick for pennies on the dollar. Not only can you build a better coil that will last longer but you can clean and rewick pretty successfully that'll stretch a coil out for weeks.
  21. That kit will get you started. If it doesn't satisfy you we can steer you in the right direction. if you're serious about quitting then the game is finding something that really satisfies your cravings until you can actually break free of the chemical addiction. Be prepared to try a few things, change juices and nic levels and do some experimenting. You have a great adventure ahead of you. It works! You can be free of tobacco (and a ton of other chemicals) Good luck!
  22. And get ready to pucker up! Not me, you....
