FDA Deeming Regulation - What we know so far
Bebop replied to Christopher's topic in General Vaping Discussion
Maybe that's part of the plan. Scare the bejesus out of the retailers and watch them fold up themselves. So far, the only thing I've noticed are signs going up at a couple shops saying "starting August - 21 I.D. Required" . That's it. No other indications of panic. I did, however, go online and buy two more evic vtc minis and a couple of samsungs and 4 more spare RBA decks. And glass. Oh, and 2 more sub tank minis. . I'm not panicking. I think of it as .......insurance....... -
FDA REGULATIONS! VERY IMPORTANT!
Bebop replied to BirdDog's topic in Vaping Legislation & Regulation News
Careful, B. You're skating dangerously close to DIY. -
That's what I was hoping. I've never had any trouble at all. I know the airlines and personnel are well aware of vaping gear (they must see a lot of it). No one I've run in to in the past has even given it a second glance. Jeepers, they make a huge fuss over an open bottle of water. I mean, sometimes the world makes no sense to me, you know?

FDA Deeming Regulation - What we know so far
Bebop replied to Christopher's topic in General Vaping Discussion
We will likely be mourning the "good ole days" sad to say. but I agree with Christopher, the sad truth and the real tragedy is that this "regulation" will slow the progress of getting people smoke free. Period. Cost to the consumer will no longer be an incentive. Effectiveness of the cig-a-like with regard to quitting will pale in comparison with the gear we have now. There will be a lot more failure and some may even revert to analogs. I am am very proud of the fact that I am no longer pouring money in to the coffers of big tobacco. I'm proud of the great success I have had thanks to those before me who have shown me a way out of this trap. And I'm proud of the fact that my wife and I have converted many people over to vaping with about a 95% success rate largely because I got the knowledge and had options to recommend to people based on their smoking habits. I absolutely stand by sensible regulation designed to raise the standard of this industry. Of course we want it safe and we aren't trying to hook a new generation on an unhealthy lifestyle. But I am sorry, this is not progress where it really matters - the effective reduction of smoking related disease. This is a set back and frankly, a travesty for many people who will miss out on the benefits and opportunity offered by a well meaning community with a REAL solution to smoking related harm. This is three steps forward and two steps back. I hope I'm wrong. I hope there is great success for future vapers. But I can't help but feel a little like I've been scooped up and tossed back in to the waiting arms of big tobacco by association alone after I've worked so hard to get out of it's grasp. :END RANT:. -
I think it's been a year for me. I just dont want any surprises if I can help it.

Chris, you're a bad***. . I love it. In the coming zombie apocalypse, I want you in my group. Or maybe I should say "can I be in your group?" Haha. -
FDA Deeming Regulation - What we know so far
Bebop replied to Christopher's topic in General Vaping Discussion
Okay. Here's a wild question. (sorry if it's been addressed. I've been busy and haven't read everything yet.) If the FDA drops the hammer on vaping (and it is dropping) how does that affect VaporTalk and other sites where people will continue to talk vaping, share resources etc? How doesthis affect on line activity? How do they stop the juggernaught that IS vaping? I still can't fathom how this all fits. How will it be policed? Who's going to set fines and penalties. This can't happen overnight and won't go down without serious opposition. -
Wow, Tam. Congratulations. Thanks for all you do around here! Been a pleasure to follow in your footsteps.

I wouldn't throw in the towel just yet, comp. looking at all these regulations and requirements - can someone pleases show me how this is even possible to implement, let alone enforce, in under two years? It just doesn't seem possible.... -
RDA for MTL - Current Generations
Bebop replied to californialivin's topic in General Vaping Discussion
Interesting problem. Not much call for an RDA for MTL. I actually don't know of one but that doesn't mean they don't exist. I feel your pain as most RTAs don't like beyond about 30/70 vg ratio. I only have a couple of RDAs so I'm not an expert by any means but I've tried few and they all fall short on MTL. Sounds like you you might enjoy the H357 - a terrific MTL dripper but is not a great DL hit. But the flavor is great and you can have them customized for whatever juice you drip. They are not exactly new and have been out for maybe a couple of years. (At least I hope they are still around). -
Really looking forward to hearing how your conference goes, Christopher. Thanks for keeping us up on this.

Hi Tam. wow. Most of my Ni builds are pretty stable although they do tend to drop a little in resistance but not that much. oops, never mind. I had a bunch of brilliant ideas but I just re read your post and it looks like you checked everything I would have done. Thats funky. I would send it back, I'm afraid. Just ain't right.

FDA REGULATIONS! VERY IMPORTANT!
Bebop replied to BirdDog's topic in Vaping Legislation & Regulation News
I am of similar thought - I don't see this happening in 90 days. There will be serious challenges to this. A lot of people will lose out in a big way and a lot more in a small way. It is really tough getting an idea of where it goes from here. A lot is going to happen in the next couple of weeks. This Feb 2007 rules wipes out nearly all significant progress in vaping. I'm going to sit tight for the moment except for supporting CASAA in anyy way... If the vape community panics then it could be tough getting supplies. Except for juice I have everything I need for the next year or so... -
Snow Wolf 200W V1.5 - Voltage Dropoff
Bebop replied to ColtonHodge's topic in Troubleshooting & Technical Issues
My understanding is that once you over tax a battery it actually damages its capability to perform at its best and it starts to spiral down significantly in performance. Im not terribly confident in that last statement but I believe it to be true. Hopefully someone can corroborate that. -
FDA REGULATIONS! VERY IMPORTANT!
Bebop replied to BirdDog's topic in Vaping Legislation & Regulation News
Holy cow. I'm wading thru this legalese now. This has to be one of the biggest scams ever pulled off by the federal government. "(The) FDA is taking this action to reduce the death and disease from tobacco products. " Yikes. This would be funny if it weren't, in fact, tragic. I intend to read this entire issue then comment further... -
Snow Wolf 200W V1.5 - Voltage Dropoff
Bebop replied to ColtonHodge's topic in Troubleshooting & Technical Issues
A quick look reveals that battery was tested and performed average at 20A but has severe drop off above that. You are taxing over 20A with the Velocity set up as far as I can tell or at least near the limit. It should be fine in your other set ups. I don't think there is a true 40A battery out there. Not in the 3000 mah range. It would appear it's an average battery that performs ok on lighter loads but whay you describe hss all the earmarks of an under performing battery especially when driving over 60W. This is just a guess, really. The real battery gurus may be able to help you further or straighten me out. -
Yeah those are good. Nice find there, squid.

Ni200 is just a little springier and deforms easier. I usually just build em normal, wick them, then do a final little tweak with some pointed tweezers to even them out and they're good to go. You will figure it out pretty fast.

Snow Wolf 200W V1.5 - Voltage Dropoff
Bebop replied to ColtonHodge's topic in Troubleshooting & Technical Issues
Sounds like battery probs. Im not thst gamiliar with the snow wolf but I would say the battery is going or it's ot rated high enough continuous discharge rate. What battery are you using and what power vs ohm are you vaping? And how old is the battery? -
I don't mind a warm vape but vaping TC is definitely a cooler vape. You should have good luck with the that.

My wife went through hiccup stage long ago. Turns out she wasn't taking enough air in. We solved it two ways - by increasing the airflow and before that by starting the inhale with a short breath no vapor. She hasn't hiccupped since then.
-
Hilarious. Hope you enjoy Tam!

Yeah, when the spinners go, they just stop suddenly. I've had them last a year but one died fairly quickly at about 6 mos.
