  1. I prefer "connoisseur" *sticks nose in air*
  2. Don't listen to Bebop. He can be a little zealous, overly dramatic and extraordinarily pompous sometimes. I know him personally and will deal with him accordingly. Just know that he holds coil builders in the highest regards and likens them to the great artisans of the past whose monuments endure the ages and awe generations. Im sure if he were here right now he'd say something simple like " If thoust aim for .4 and thou strike .38 or .42 then thee have hit the bull's eye as surely as the archer has split the apple atop his son's head" or something like that.
  3. Rewrapping a battery is not so uncommon. It could be innocent. I have one mod that is hard on the wrap and I wrapped them because the mod had caused a tear in the wrapping. Since the wrapping is absolutely key to the battery not shorting out, it is safer to rewrap the battery than to continue using a damaged wrap. having said that, I, of course know the history of the battery so I consider it personally safe to do. However since it is not your battery originally it's probably safer to just replace it.
  4. @Edna wow, dear. I don't know what happened. Thought I'd give Vape Wild a shot but I just wasted a half an hour shopping and creating an account and just before payment it sent me on a wild round of who knows what. Couldn't find out where to pay, couldn't enter the code, couldn't complete my order. My computer is fine. Maybe they're having a bad day because of the holiday, lol. I don't know but I gave up.
  5. I don't know....sounds an awful lot like burnt cotton... Hard to know until we get more details.
  6. Thank you Christopher for a very insightful answer. I appreciate taking the time to give us a detailed idea of this process.
  7. First of all, thank you Christopher for doing this. I really appreciate your dedication, your time and your efforts to keep us informed on this. You are a gentleman, a scholar, and a hell of a piano player. Thank you for putting VaporTalk here. the first thing I want to discuss is on line age verification. I have never had to do this. I'm curoious about how it works, what is required and the implications of leaving a hard trail and possibly compromising security, personal information and privacy issues as well as identity theft. it's one thing to walk in to a place and flash an ID in front of a clerk and be on my way. It's another matter when I have to supply information via electronic transfer to another location in cyberspace, personal info that I may not want "out there" that can be accessed by a 3rd party (or 2nd party for that matter). Particularly, if I have to do this multiple times with multiple vendors. Seems messy and I don't like it. So so my questions are: How is age verified on line? What exactly is required? Also, is there some way I can verify my age with ONE action and then obtain an "age verification status" that can then be used in multiple transaction sites - in other words, I prove to "A" that I'm over 21 and then "A" issues me a cyber stamp that I can use at numerous locations without having to give out the specific information over and over again? How does that work? I would rather have a notary verify my age, for instance, and issue me a "this guy is cool" card which is then accepted by vendors without having to give these vendors my "proof of age" every time I purchase. Does such a thing exist? All I need is to show that I'm over 21, not my actual birthdate tied to my name and address, for example. Im not overly paranoid when it comes to my on-line footprint but I believe in the right to privacy and the right to protect myself from excessive distribution of sensitive info. Mike
  8. My experience is that excessive heat deteriorates juice pretty fast, both in color and taste. Im sure it varies by juice. Generally keeping them at room temp or below seems to be ok but even a day or two in a hot car or something is pretty bad. You may have even noticed your juice darkening in a tank from atomizer heat (even more so with sub ohm). I haven't looked at any studies but I would think with these food grade flavorings that we do run the risk of it going rancid pretty quick with excessive heat.
  9. The Spinner 2 had(has) charging issues. Some people hacmve said that you must use a "Vision" charger in order for it to charge correctly however even that didn't work for me. I had a couple that worked fine with any charger and a couple that you had to connect then disconnect and reconnect in order for them to charge. I read a lot on this and never found a resolution. Vision claimed it was never a problem and the rest of us were crazy. Meanwhile we all suffered. I have long since switchedto different equipment so I'm not much help but if connecting and reconnecting doesn't work then I would suggest changing to another brand. Im surprised this is still an issue since this was a big deal maybe 1 1/2 years ago.
  10. My 2 cents - 50/50 is a good middle of the road mixture and will work in just about any device. mix your tobacco with cherry, peach, or maple. if you're not big on sweets like candy flavors then you will probably enjoy coffees, coffee mixes, Caramels, maples, vanillas and bakery type flavors. Play with your nic levels to get the throat hit you want. Probably 12 ish to start.
  11. This is a common error when vaping TC. You have to pick a balance between wattage and temp. You dont want heat to ramp up too quickly with high watts just to have TC shut it down. I think it's an error to boost wattage any higher than about 75% of what you might expect to vape normally at, then bump the temp around to get the best vape. It's kind of pointless to keep bumping up the wattage. Anytime i see someone pushing 600 deg with TC I know they're way beyond "TC" at that point. Most juices and cotton wicks reall are breaking down at that temp. If you can get a good long pull with good vapor production in the mid 400s to 480 say, then you'll get good vapor, flavor and coil and wick longevity. (and you'll see your watts bumping around 10 -15 if you watch to maintain it) If you're seeing your watts drop to 5 or less then you are totally defeating TC. TC was really designed to avoid the dreaded "dry wick" (and subsequent cotton burn). It has the side benefit of longer lasting coils and wicks when set properly.
  12. Coils can be finicky. They can change shape and move a little when they are heated up. Even moving them around a little can change their behavior, change their resistance. Just their position on the deck can change how they vape. Where they sit in relation to the airflow is HUGE and can be the difference between a sweet vale and a hot mess. You get better at it with practice and it doesn't hurt to get advice from experienced coil builders. You might want to check out the builds in the RBA section of this forum. Lots of pics there and you can compare your builds. Or better yet, post pics of your own builds so we can help you. But you you should definitely know what resistance and power you are building to and not just rely on what some guy told you. I'm not saying they are wrong, just saying the more you know what you are doing, the safer and more enjoyable it will be.
  13. You should inspect your builds. You could possibly be building too low (ohms) and you are just above the threshold and with use it's dropping too low in ti a virtual short. Why are they shorting out? Do you know? You're lucky you have a mod that is courteous enough to tell you you have a short. That's why you still have a face. As far as the burning throat you are vaping at high watts. A fresh coil always vapes nicely at higher wattages but with use you get deteriorization of the coil, deteriorization of the wick and at high temps they dont last long. I reccomend you have somebody who can help you inspect your builds and help you avoid shorts and make sure you are vaping within the safe limits of your batteries. And if you're going to vape high wattage then you should get used to your coils not lasting more than a couple of days. Besides, better builds and wicking helps them last longer.
  14. Need details your ohms your wattage your juice mix pg/vg if I had to guess with no information I'd say you're vaping sweet juice pretty hot with higher nic
  15. What is that? Like a dripper with a huge well? I have to look that one up...
  16. . thanks, Tam! Edna, if your B&M is smart they will welcome you to bring it in and they will fix it for free right in front of you and will send you home happy and with a free bottle of juice or something. My my boiling water for a minute trick didn't work either? Hmmmmm.... time to pull out all the stops...... *rummaging through drawer looking for holy water, a silver bullet, there's a wooden stake around here somewhere....*
  17. It shouldn't be that difficult, right? It's something simple...like......ebay!!!
  18. Huh what huh??? I'm awake I'm awake !......and will be for a while. .... If it turns out to be some ebay thing...I'll be disappointed
  19. Maybe one of the orings slipped out of place and it jammed. Did you try rocking the sleeve off as opposed to twisting or pulling? You know I'm not going to be able to sleep tonight til you get that **** thing off.
  20. Don't forget you need to line up the air holes with the coil. This is absolutely critical to coil function.
  21. Ok. That is weird.... Let me make sure I understand. Did you say you can take the RBA deck out without removing the sleeve? If thats true, dripping a few drops of juice down the inside of the sleeve. Let it work itself in to the space between the sleeve and the base. Try rotating the sleeve on the base to work the juice in to the orings. Really weird that it is that stuck.
  22. Yes. Get off the ciggys. Welcome
