Exposing the Public to E-cigs - A good Thing
Bebop replied to ArnieH's topic in General Vaping Discussion
I agree that people should be educated on the differences between vaping and smoking. But I'm not so sure that flaunting it to a wide general public, which is essentially promoting it, is good idea, IMO I, personally, would only recommend vaping to someone as an alternative to getting off analogs. I would not encourage anyone to take up vaping who isn't already a smoker. As much as I love vaping and am so happy to be off the analogs, I don't think advertising it or flaunting it to a non smoking public is the way to go. I'm not saying we have to hide it or be ashamed of it. But it is primarily a drug delivery system. I just think I'd rather not push it on others. Educate them where needed. No doubt, it's healthier than smoking. But there is a difference between "healthier than" and something being healthy. I personally cannot call vaping "healthy" and therefore promote it as such. Promote it to smokers, sure. Promote to the general public, not the best idea IMO. I am commenting on your topic Arnie -
I say dump the Riva and move on.

They make a collar that fits under your tank that would really dress that up nicely IMO . Nice rig

All of what has been suggested to you is slightly larger than what you have now but there is no way around that if you want better performance- longer battery life and more vapor. I suggest going with 1.8 ohm replacement coils and the second battery if length is your first concern. The first battery and the T3 suggested will be over an inch longer than what you have now

It should be a lith-ion battery and you should be able to charge it at any point without ill effect. The usb plug in point shouldnt matter either. The cord itself should have the transformer and THAT has to be compatible with the battery. Verify that first.

Lol!

I have a really hard time believing that, Tam Buster is man's best friend. If you hug him, he wont let you stop. If you sit on the couch, he has this way of creeping in to your lap really slowly like you wont notice he's doing anything. Lol

He means what is the name of the kit that you got

Buster 5 yr old Pitt/Lab ...he thinks he's a lap dog

Do I need to take a pic of my dog and use it as my avatar? Lol

All this talk of new gear has me salivating. I feel an expense coming on.

You know what comes after that.... a bigger battery, lol I definitely like the bottom feeders. I have 1 T3 that vapes awesome but leaks like crazy and I just figured out how to fix that but I also have a hard time with the top heavy rig.

Pretty sure its the flavoring used. I' e experienced the same thing. Although the formulas of the flavoring are usually proprietary, as best I can gather tbe amount of flavoring used in any juice can be as high as 20 - 25%. That's a pretty significant volume of the juice. But I have to say, the quality control of the clearomizers themselves including the coils is not that consistent. So you have a combination of the wicking material, the cut outs in the coil, the coil wrap itself etc and these can be contributing factors as well.

Peanut butter & coffee I dont know what I was thinking....

Ladies and gentlemen, stand back. This could be ugly. So last week i bought an octopus RDA. I know its one of the cheaper no frills RDAs and I vaped the heck out of it for a week. As is typical, I got bored, took it all apart, trimmed the wick, staightened the wire out, rewrapped the coil, put it all back together and it fired up and worked like new. The mad scientist in me (he lives very close to the surface, btw) did some poking around and I have now decided to rebuild it in the bunny cottontale configuration. Why, you ask? Because I can! Anyway, Ive decided to do some shopping for a basic mad scientist starter lab. I would love your input on some basic tools and supplies that I'll be wanting. Keeping in mind that I would like to have a little stock of silica, nichrome wire etc.. think of it like jr mad scientist starter kit. Tips? Suggestions?

Too early! But a great beer For now....

That is a nice clearomizer and the one I used for quite a while til I switched over to the Kanger T2

Yeah. The CE4s will come empty. Keep one tobacco only. The other, try the flavors. Fill halfway and give the wick a minute or two to prime and vape away. Vape it down. Might need to tip it to keep the wicks wet. Don't like it? Take apart dry it up and fill with something else. Eventually keep a few clearomizers with different flavors. You can try mixing the ice ice to make menthol tobacco. Some people like to mix a little fruit in tobacco. Just experiment. Have never used the vivi nova. The Kanger T2 is a step up from the CE4.

I noticed you picked extra flavor on all of them. How would you describe what you didn't like about the ones you rated lower? -
just bought e-cigbpen style starter from electra vapor, help!

I agree with this. Sounds like you need to go to a set up where you can customize your juice mixture. You may have sensitivity to pg. You can use a juice with a higher vg content but keep the nicotine up and that may work for you. -
Thanks for posting this, Uma. I have a T3 that goes totally unused because it's leaked straight out of the box and I'm sure this is why. Come to think of it, I have a T2 that floods easily. Haven't had that problem with them usually, but adding a flavor wick might fix that one. The video is a little long, but I liked that it was a good over view of the construction of the Kanger Clearomizer, using a 4-40 machine screw for forming a coil is brilliant, and adding a flavor wick to minimize leaking and flooding through coil is also cool. I learned a lot from this video.

Grant you'll do great to start with that kit. Pick up a couple extra CE4's. Not sure how you will test juices. If you dont like a flavor just pour it out, clean it out best you can and change to new juice. The old juice will pass in a few hits. Make it easy on yourself til you get going. Your main challenge will be finding the juice you can vape. What juices did you pick? Save some dough so you can upgrade in a few weeks
