I think the main problem for the stock verticals is I believe they are press fit components. That usually means its tough to get them back together if you can get them apart. And you could damage them getting them apart. Tricky but I don't see how else you can replace the cotton. Nit to mention rebuilding the coil....

OMG. In 4 years I've never done this. Pulled out my mod after a long break. Fired it and started a big MTL pull. Thought I was gonna die! 80 watts on a .7ohm kanthal coil. About tore my head off! It was in my pocket and my keys must have bumped the wattage button up while I was sitting down. Why couldn't I have done that on my TC rig? Ya, no. It had to be the kanthal rig. I'm laughing about it now but let me tell you, that was no fun. I'll probably have to subtract a couple of months off my ciggy meter, haha. 'Cause that was like hot boxing a whole carton of lucky strike non filters - actually, now that I've said that, I think I'd rather hot box a carton of Lucky Strikes....

Help! How to put Subox mini into temp control mode?
Bebop replied to Sarah_1988's topic in General Vaping Discussion
It should just cycle thru the options with the same method for putting it in TC mode. You're looking for the initials to change in the window (in your pic the "NC") will change thru the various ccoil materials) -

Bebop replied to Sarah_1988's topic in General Vaping Discussion
Does your TC mode match the material of your coil? Ni - nickel SS - s tainless steel Ti - titanium it cant be just any mode it has to match what your coil is made of (the actual coil itself, not the case or housing). -
@VapeMama I wasn't so much chastising you as just trying to keep it real. As vapers we get excited about the many many pluses of vaping over smoking and the benefits so far outweigh the negatives that we tend to think of this as absolutely harmless but the truth is we can't say that in absolute terms as much as we want to. For all practical purposes I believe it is relatively harmless. In my opinion, it's probably worse just breathing the air in a major metropolitan area than it is to vape. And, we know how destructive smoking is, to ourselves and those around us. Vaping addresses the physical aspects and consequences of smoking and reduces it to a nearly harmless level. It doesn't address the addiction/habit and etiquette of the action unless the wise vaper so chooses himself. That's just a polite way of saying vaping doesn't turn a jerk in to a saint, lol.

I think there is truth in that. I have never seen a study on the percentage of nicotine absorbed but I would guess it's fairly high but not 100% or anything close to that. In most cases, users that produce a lot of clouds are already using eliquids greatly reduced in nicotine by as much as 90% so you have that to consider. I understand your complaint and feel this falls under etiquette. I personally believe that 2nd hand vapor is harmless but I think it's rude to subject a non smoker to vapor without their permission as a matter of etiquette. Especially in confined spaces. You have the right to protest and encourage you to do so but I think there is little personal risk to you in general.

By the way - "chemicals" is a word often tossed around as if it's inherently negative and automatically harmful and evil. "A chemical substance is a form of matter that has constant chemical composition and characteristic properties. It cannot be separated into components by physical separation methods, i.e., without breaking chemical bonds. Chemical substances can be chemical elements, chemical compounds, ions or alloys." Chemicals are a fact of the physical universe. The sweetest strawberry grown in a pristine organic field harvested by virgin cherubs wearing hypoallergenic gloves has chemicals, lol.

Well,. It's not true that there are NO CHEMICALS. But it is true that there are many chemicals not found in vapor that are abundant in cigarette smoke. There are some chemicals found in vapor that are also found in cigarette smoke but they are GREATLY reduced by a factor as much as 1/1400.

vaper: a person who vapes vapor: the atomized liquid that has the appearance of "smoke" but next to none of smoke's properties. smoke: practically non-existent in vapor read this. It is a pretty good and easy to read description of vapor and vaping: http://www.cigbuyer.com/inside-e-cigarette-liquids-and-vapor

hmmm.....something is wrong if your vaping 50/50 at 70 watts and not getting the vapor you want. it probably is the .5 clapton coil so I'm sure you're maxed out there. it's possible that you're burning out that coil pretty quickly and then it's not producing vapor very well after that. But 70 watts, how are you not getting a burnt taste from that sucker? I would do what Tam says and get your juice in 60 or 70 VG. You should notice lots more cloud plus you wont burn out those coils too fast...

Does unopened juice stay good longer?
Bebop replied to Patricia's topic in General eLiquid Discussion
Most manufacturers recommend NOT storing batteries in the fridge because, whole it's true that it slows the rate of discharge, if its not done carefully it can actually damage the battery. Extreme cold, condensation, are also bad. A cool place is recommended. But refrigeration doesn't buy you much especially since our batteries are rechargeable anyway. -
If they are older than 2 years you might want to consider new stuff. A lot has changed. And prices have dropped.

Does unopened juice stay good longer?
Bebop replied to Patricia's topic in General eLiquid Discussion
In theory it should last longer but as to how much longer? I suppose it depends on the seal. I don't think most wraps are vacuum sealed. It's just a protection seal to show the bottle is unopened. I would think that as long as the cap is tight, you'd get the best longevity out of the juice. Vacuum sealing removes the air, which is the main cause of degradation. But I don't think juices are vacuum sealed. -
But he's(she's) saying the 0 nic juices are bitter. Usually people have the opposite reaction. They taste 0 or 3 at the store and love it. Then take their 12 or 18 home and think it's terrible and bitter, which makes sense since nic adds bitterness. Something about this doesnt make sense. (including test tasting at the shop). 0 nic should be smooth and tasty, almost empty tasting. I do remember tasting tobacco flavors that taste fake and terrible without nicotine but taste much better with nicotine. Maybe thats the sensation? Not bitterness? I don't know. I would try 0 nic with higher pg and maybe a menthol added if you don't like fruity sweet flavors. You might like coffee flavors or tea flavors or maybe cinnamon flavors in 0 nic.

Liquid stinging/burning mouth
Bebop replied to VaperGamer's topic in Troubleshooting & Technical Issues
Interesting. I've never had a sub ohm coil set up tthat I could successfully mouth to lung hit. I'm going to have to play around with this and see what's up.- 14 replies

Top loaders- Kanger Toptank mini Aspire Triton V2 just a couple suggestions. As I said make sure the tank has high ohm coils available. (Or a deck you can build your own coils on)
-
He can pretty much choose any tank with a 510 connection he wants. Anything less than 28mm in diameter will look ok. 24mm or 25mm probably best. I would choose any tank that provides coils higher than 1.3 ohms as this Tesla will not fire a coil lower than that.

Liquid stinging/burning mouth
Bebop replied to VaperGamer's topic in Troubleshooting & Technical Issues
Great, man good luck. I should add, and this is just my experience, I can set up a high ohm coil (1.3 - 2.5 range) for either mouth to lung or direct to lung but I haven't had much success setting up low ohm and high watts for mouth to lung. I don't know why exactly, but doesn't work for me. I only mention it if having trouble mixing inhalation methods on one tank/coil set up.- 14 replies

Liquid stinging/burning mouth
Bebop replied to VaperGamer's topic in Troubleshooting & Technical Issues
It's not unusual to have a coil register a little high. At higher wattage, more airflow means more vapor. Play with it a little. Generally you'll want less airflow on MTL and more on direct to lung. Low airflow on high wattages is definitely going to reduce coil performance over time. Im not saying that's incorrect, just expect to go through coils faster.- 14 replies

Liquid stinging/burning mouth
Bebop replied to VaperGamer's topic in Troubleshooting & Technical Issues
A .5ohm coil jumping up to .64 can also be a sign of coil burn out. I would say 25watts is a good starting place. Do you pull vapor into your mouth before inhaling? (mouth-to-lung like a real cigarette) or do you inhale directly to lung? (direct-to-lung) What is your airflow set at?- 14 replies

Liquid stinging/burning mouth
Bebop replied to VaperGamer's topic in Troubleshooting & Technical Issues
It really depends more on the coil. I'm not familiar with that ceramic coil so I can't speak from experience on that. But I can speak from experience that vaping at 50watts on a .6ohm coil is really pushing that coil to extremes and it wouldn't surprise me that it's burnt out too quickly. The symptoms of a burnt coil are loss of flavor and harshness and sometimes spitting and splash. Do you have other options in coils for that device?- 14 replies

This is just my own preference but I can't vape 6mg at that high of wattage. It does vary by juice and coil but I find that's too much power for 6mg. That's for me though. You might find dropping your nic level a touch to 4mg might help. You might want to explore juices with higher VG to get more vapor at lower power levels.- 14 replies
