  1. I should have clarified - I meant the post that is connected to the center pin, which is usually mounted through the center pin on the deck. The center pin will have threads that go up through the base and tighten that leg and post. That post has to be connected to the center pin somehow. Typically one post is rigid and machined or press fit to the base and the other is part of an assembly through the center pin. I've had a couple get loose and disconnect.
  2. Whoa, cowboy. He gave an opinion just like you did, except he was friendly about it, unlike you. What works for you is fine. But clearly the OP is not as experienced a vape god like you and therefore his opinion is probably more valid than yours. So do us a favor and tone it down a notch before you jump on somebody's ***. And it might help you if you take a little time to get to know the site and make a few friends before you start pissing in the pool.
  3. Not familiar with that deck either but check to make sure your posts are not loose, particularly the center post. That will cause both problems you describe too.
  4. Also what juice you changed from and to
  5. Can you post some details about coil and power levels you are using?
  6. Do you have a meter? put your tank together. Probe the center post on the 510 and the threads. Does it give you a resistance? If it does, it's not the tank and coil. did you "reboot" the mod? Reboot it with tank on and off.
  7. I know we're all just guessing at this point... have you looked to make sure you don't have an extra o-ring in the base or some other obstruction preventing the coil from seating properly? Or, maybe the coil is grinding and not seating all the way down? i don't know. Has all the earmarks of a coil not seating properly. All it takes is a little cross-threading and you think it's down or something.
  8. Hehe.....only thing missing is your guitar and amp.....or is it there?
  9. This is just my opinion but I always felt like the nautilus coils faded really fast compared to other tanks. They can take a good amount at the start but then they burn out. I don't think your wattage too high but it's in the high band for that coil. here are some other things to consider: darker sweeter juices in general and certain juices will clog a coil faster, particularly juices that have a lot of sugar. Just the nature of the beast. low airflow will also fowl them quicker. This is particularly true if you are a mouth to lung vaper. not letting the coil properly prime itself first will burn them out quicker it could be your juice. I used to get this Brazilian coffee juice that was absolutely tasty as could be. It wasn't even that sweet, but it was a coil killer so I gave it up only for that reason. You could try a 1.5 coil I believe in that tank, but I wouldn't expect that to solve your problem. you might have some luck with Temp Control coils. Pretty sure your 40watt mod is TC?
  10. Eanie meanie, chili beanie the spirits are about to speak! Got a pic of the deck????
  11. These are rough figures and are meant for demonstration. I am not advising you to do this pure nic is 1000mg per milliliter. 1 drop is approximately .06 milliliters therefore 1 drop is equal to 60 miligrams of nic. If your tank holds 2 mils then you would be increasing your nic level to 30mg plus whatever you nic level is in your juice already. If it's 12 then it would become 42. VERY DANGEROUS TO DO! When dealing with pure pure nicotine I wouldn't even consider adding it to less than 30 mils of juice. 1 drop added to 30 mils of juice would roughly increase it by 2mg. If if you have to ask this question, then you shouldn't be handling pure nicotine!!!! sorry to be so blunt but it's a fact!
  12. Good tips! so far, I'm vaping the stuff as fast as I make it. I will try an exercise some restraint haha.
  13. Milton the Monster.... Okay. What I learned this week is that I'm a total NEWB when it comes to mixing. I'm doing great with single flavors. No problem there. I can get the ratios I like, the proper nic and good single flavors that rival the best. I've made a great vanilla custard. A good carmel cappuccino. A good french vanilla. Peach? No problem. The problem comes with mixing flavors. In general, the problem is, when I mix peanut butter with banana I end up with something that is "in between". It's neither peanut butter nor banana. It washes out in to something non distinct. It's not horrible and it's totally vapable. But it doesn't have that separation that I'm looking for. It's kind of monotone. And that seems to generally happen when I'm marrying flavors. I don't know if this is a percentage issue or a flavor issue, or if it's tastebuds or what. Kind of perplexing. I'll keep at it. But it feels like I'm searxhing for the Holy Grail here!
  14. Sure. You won't have much control over it but it'll definitely be safe. What ohm coil are you running? if anything you may find it runs a little hot on full charge.
  15. I don't know if he'll "fight" but I see him being pivotal in a future episode. I'm looking forward to Neegan's destruction.
  16. Does it have an RBA deck? Cuz, if it does, I will go all gypsy on this thing
  17. *cough, cough....I think I'm coming down with something, *cough.....yep, Shinyitis
  18. That is another funny phenomenon. In my subtank mini RBA deck I can build a better coil than factory. I get consistently better flavor that the store bought coil. But in my zephyrus RBA deck I get a good build (dual) and a happy one but I can't seem to beat the premade dual coils flavor. However that flavor on the factory coils drops off heavily after a couple days while my coils hum along for a week or two with consistent flavor.
  19. Oooooh, a coffee flavor. Im working on one myself. How much french vanilla?
  20. Cool. I think in general it's hard to really state what a flavor build is. Probably because it's so subjective. It's easy to build for clouds. Flavor is more ellusive. I don't know why that is. Perhaps because many more things contribute to flavor. Flavor appears to be sensitive. For clouds you need power and airflow. Pretty simple. I have a couple of observations and a couple of theories about flavor. Juice - In the good old days before everybody went batcrap crazy about diacetyl and other additives in ejuice, it used to taste great. And it wasn't that hard to make it taste great. It tasted great as long as you didn't scorch it. It tasted great at 9 watts and it tasted great at 50 watts. Dual (or more) coils almost always create more flavor. I have no idea why, since it doesnt seem to be just about clouds. Perpaps it's surface area. I don't know. For whatever reason, more cloud does not mean more flavor. My sweet spot is 3mm (single or dual) .5 - .6 ohm about 25W - 35W. But I also love a .8 at about 20W on certain juices. I rarely vape at 40W or more unless Im fooling with a low ohm RDA for fun. It's just not my thing. I personally don't see the attraction of massive clouds and wasting juice. I do love a good cloud with great flavor. I'll take flavor any day and i find that in the .5 - .8 range
  21. let me try to understand and help you. When you say "sweet spot" what exaxctly are you referring to? A wattage? A flavor ? Cloud production? Most of us refer to a sweet spot as a combination of things, typically a coil resistance we prefer and a power level applied to that that yields a certain flavor and or clouds. I build my coils to my preference. I don't build a coild then find sweet spot after that. I think most builders have worked out by trial what they like, then build to that configuration. Do you know what resistance(s) you like? Do you build for flavor or for clouds or both? I recommend using a calculator to build to a couple of different resistances and try them out. When you are first figuring it out, use a voltage range (3.8 - 4.8 roughly) and let the wattage fall where it may. Then when you find your sweet spot build your coils to target that resistance and wattage combination.
