BRAND NEW to this and need a little help
joe2003 replied to x9x9x9x9x9's topic in Troubleshooting & Technical Issues
doesn't the vamo have an rms and mean setting? I've heard that if a pv is on the mean setting it could have a harsher burnt taste because of the way it fires. I've also heard that the mean setting is less consistant ? I haven't kept up with all the diff. versions so I may be way off base lol -
Different vapor production with wattage levels
joe2003 replied to Grant951's topic in General Vaping Discussion
The innokin, like most boosted or electrical switch mods, has an amp limit. I think the v3 is around 2.5 amps. The only major limit on your kicked k100 is how much current the kick can pull from the batt.and what coil you put on it. HTH -
Of some old friends from the e-cig world. (with tongue planted firmly in cheek) Many of us **OV's** have fond although sometimes frustrated memories of these old friends. The M-401 has sadly passed and the RN-4075 is now defunct. While the 402 can still be found occasionally and the RN-4081 still has a small cult like following in the NJOY and Smokestik crowds. The KR808D-1 won the cigalike popularity contest and the 510, and the new kid on the block, the eGo connector won the MOD crowds love. But perhaps the saddest passing is the venerable and oft venerated DSE-801/BE-112/JOYE302's. Often hailed as the best compromise between the TH of the 510 and the clear taste of a 901,with the largest capacity, the now outdated 801 was beloved (and hated) by many. the BE-112 seems to be out of production and very few sellers still carry the 801/302's anymore. BUT I STILL HAVE A FEW! I haven't had to give in yet to these new punks:The gennies and RBA's and RDA's and and and... Well I only use 'em to taste new juices sometimes lol. They still work and taste great at ~5V. It really is great fun watching the progression of VAPING. **OV=original vaper(yes a sad play on the gangsters OG)

LR draws more amps and puts more strain on the batts. a higher mah can usually handle the strain better. That's why 650 or higher is usually recommended for LR coils. The best indication of a batts.potential to handle more amps is it's "C" rating but that info can be hard to find for specific batts. HTH

I really enjoy vaping a pipe but as with any mech mod the quality of the vape depends entirely on what you put on it I've been using a Smok 1.7 ohm carto in this tank from http://www.epipemods.com/pipe-supplies/510-2-0-ohm-cartomizers-xl-5-pack.html This is the pipe I have :Dwemer Bolivian Rose wood from epipemods.com

Thinking about picking up an iTaste MVP V2.0
joe2003 replied to Sweatervest13's topic in General Vaping Discussion
I'd recommend watching PBusardo's youtube review of the V2 before buying. I wanted this unit but the numbers just weren't good enough. I haven't tried any juice from madvapes in about 2 yrs. so no help there. -
A little more to feed your Chinese skepticism
joe2003 replied to kerk's topic in The Vape Lounge - Off Topic Chat
The broker, a small-time businessman from Taiwan named Michael Fan, had already received advice from ALW about how to get Chinese honey into the U.S. ALW executives had told him to ship his honey in black drums since the Chinese usually used green ones. And they had reminded him that the “taste should be better than regular mainland material.” Chinese honey was often harvested early and dried by machine rather than bees. This allowed the bees to produce more honey, but the honey often had an odor and taste similar to sauerkraut. Fan was told to mix sugar and syrup into the honey in Taiwan to dull the pungent flavor. For those that have trouble distinguishing: The Chinese sold it to an authorized buyer. Fan from Taiwan adulterated it at the instruction of ALW of Germany That is all. -
I would like to have one but I'll wait until I see a trusted reviewer showing that it can go a bit over 5 volts I've seen some nice wraps for them that will protect that fragile finish.

A little more to feed your Chinese skepticism
joe2003 replied to kerk's topic in The Vape Lounge - Off Topic Chat
This article had very little to do with the Chinese and everything to do with a greedy German business and at least 1 if not more greedy U.S businesses. While Chinese QC is always a bit suspect, all they did in this instance was to sell a product to an authorized buyer, who then used shady tactics and broke several laws in the redistribution of that product. As to the banned antibiotic in the honey every country has different regs for additives so the Chinese aren't culpable for selling it here since they didn't sell it to a U.S. company. Chinese bashing is popular all over the net and in many cases it's well deserved BUT ecig users need to remember and be thankful that if it weren't for the Chinese we wouldn't have ecigs at all! And as far as the juice debate that seems to be constantly ongoing there are a lot of people who would rather put their trust into a reputable Chinese company than some U.S. homebrew specialist who doesn't even have a decent clean room to work in. Personally I like and use both Chinese and U.S. ecig stuff, especially batts since it's damn near impossible to find Li-Ion batts manufactured anywhere else. just my .02,.02..02..02 lol -
It sounds like Oregon really wants to mix it up with BAMA. A&M put in a great effort today but still... ROLL TIDE !!!

Have some questions re: Halo vs. Volt cig-a-likes
joe2003 replied to imadragonkeeper's topic in General Vaping Discussion
I guess most of us here think the ego is a better option because it lasts longer and has more options as far as types of coils you can use on it. The small autos like the Volt are better for some situations like gaming etc,, if you like handsfree vaping, As far as the 808's like Volt,Bloog,Vapor4Life (V4L),Halo,V2 and so on most are interchangeable so mix n match away. The only limit I can think of as far as juice goes is that higher VG juices usually don't play well with cartomizers due to wicking issues. -
I think you will need to remove at least 1 of the flavor wicks it sounds like the juice is too thick to wick The Evod usually has 2 or 3 wicks plus the one inside the coil. Try removing them one at a time until you get good wicking but if you remove too many it will flood so keep up with them so you can put one back if needed. As far as the way the batt is acting,I think you are hitting the amp limits with those 1.8 coils.Since you have the 2.5's you'll prolly get better service from those. And as the E-mail from your vendor said it's not unusual for the ohms of the coils to fluctuate a few tenths.Dry coils measure different from wet etc...
-
I think you should contact your vendor. It sounds like you may have gotten a bad batt. They may tell you to try a higher ohm coil first but the iTaste should be able to handle the 1.8. Hopefully they will be able to resolve the issue without too much hassle. If not let us know, there are certainly more knowledgeable folks here than me,who may be able to offer some solutions.
-
Doesn't the iTaste have an ohm meter?try to see what the ohms on the coil are. Also look at the coil head to see what the ohms are listed at,if it's too low the batt will think it's a short. If you have some spare coils you could try one of those. If it measures O.K then you could try setting the itaste to it's lowest setting and see if it works.if it does then you can go up gradually until you find a spot you like or the batt stops working. Also if you have an ohm meter you could double check to see if the itaste is reading properly. If not then you may need to contact your vendor. HTH

I'll bet jeffb doesn't get down to 10 puffs an hour in his sleep lol.
-
Then I guess ya don't want me to tell ya that the vamo is actually firing at six volts lol. It's just turning it off and on so fast that it feels lower depending on where you set it
-
yep,3.8v with 2.2ohms is ~6.5 watts and 4.2 v with 2.5 ohms is ~ 7 watts Just remember it may taste a bit stronger when you're on the wattage setting due to the fact that the twists and spinners etc. have some voltage dropout under load but the watts setting on the vamo probly won't. HTH

Welcome to Variable Wattage, finding your sweet spot and staying there thru the duration of the batts charge and the changing ohms of your attys coil is awesome!!
