  1. Agree 110% - I respect everyone else's choice to choose to believe that xploding battery story or to discard it as merely something else. Me personally tho I don't feel comfortable using any battery that is 'Unprotected' & I try to make sure any battery I use atleast looks authentic. I've done web searches for certain style batteries and with some of em they look as real as a bought bootleg DVD off the street. Regardless if that story is true or not I seriously think Vaprlife did the right thing. TBH I do believe they are the only ones who seemed to do the right thing. Not to knock anybody else but they still sell the same Mods that use the only battery I know of that has exploded, the CR2. That story could very well be a hoax but..... my money will not be spent on anything that turns me into a possible Explosion Test Dummy. And seriously the thing that bothers me the most bout all this is the fact there are ppl out there buying these CR2 powered Mods, that may or may not be dangerous, thinking they are guaranteed to be safe. If I didn't learn that 'Protected' Batteries exist just recently or ran across that TotallyWicked thread .....I coulda been one of those ppl. A possible candidate to be the next Test Dummy... If you know the possible danger and still buy, thats your choice. But atleast inform me so I'm not unaware and allow me to be an educated consumer BEFORE I make my purchase. I don't wanna find out the truth the hard way... I've spoke of this plenty enough on ECF & here.... I'll stop now.
  2. Thank you Dave & Chris as well. I appreciate everyone's response. I'm not really a center post/pole expert but I know I heard Grimmgreen or some other person speaking bout that. I'll see what kinda info ( preferably video ) I can dig up. lol Thx again guys.
  3. Yea I read all that thoroughly. Even those 'pics' I saw, which were very useful. So far I been using the 'Unprotected' battery solo and... no explosions YET w00t! J/K - I have been using & recharging that one with no problems. I was joking bout the exploding part. After a little more digging, it seems to be only the CR2's that go 'BOOM'. Still feel like i'm staring down the barrel of a loaded pistol tho lol but... I'm sure plenty of other ppl have used 'Unprotected' 10440 batteries & no problems of that type w/ that particular battery. I'm def gonna give your advice a shot tho, thx.
  4. After messing w/ this battery a little more, i'ma have just call it a defective battery and leave it as that. It worked perfectly 2 or 3 times & now it's acting as if it's no longer a 3.7V battery but something of a considerably less voltage. ( Lights my LEDS but not w/ atty attached ) I'll just hope for better luck w/ my batteries soon to be otw, if not alrdy. P.S. - Chris if you read this. NO I don't want you to mail me any replacements! LOL I'll just thank you & respectfuly decline your offer in advance, they're only batteries.
  5. OK I posted my 1st problem on someone else's thread titled "10440 Batteries" under Vapor Talk Store, The Supporting Suppliers Forum. I'll just do a quick rundown of the situation. Basicly one of my batteries 'lost' the tiny metal piece that sticks onto the positive end of the battery. Apparently if that happens your battery is no longer 'Protected'. Alright, that sux but **** happens so, meh; I ordered plenty more batteries from Vaprlife. But thats NOT why i'm posting battery issues once again.... This today is day number 2 since receiving my Spade kit. I've continued to alternate batteries in & out regardless of the now 'Unprotected' broken battery. One battery solo just isn't enough juice. I'll live with any consequences if they should arise... whatever.. So today I put my GOOD 'Protected' battery in the charger & passed out asleep. Woke up to find that a family member unplugged the charger, while I was asleep, cause the light was 'green' - fully charged. I put the GOOD fully 'Protected' & charged battery in w/o the atty on. Tested the power, lights up so attached the atty, fired it up and ........ nothing.... No Purple LED, No Heat, No Power...... nothing. Confused, cuz I just got done testing it for power w/o the atty attached, I plugged it back into the charger. The charger shows a 'green' light... wtf ...put the thing back into the Spade & it lights the LED back up. At that point my head was spinning. Attached the atty once more thinking I must be hallucinating! Once again... nothing...... Apparently the GOOD 'Protected' fully charged battery is strong enough to light up my Purple LED's but soon as I tighten the atty closer into place, nothing works. Ughhhhhhhh As it stands I now have 1 'Unprotected' battery ready at any minute to go 'KaBoooooom' & the OTHER 'Protected' battery unable to supply enough juice to heat my atty, wonderful! So now the question is: Is this ALL some form of 'bad luck' OR has anyone here had any battery issues relatively similar? P.S. - To be perfectly honest this is the type of BS that has kept me returning back to analogs since I stumbled upon the E-Cig almost 2mths ago and its all extremely disheartening.
  6. Or here if you prefer brass....... http://www.vaprlife.com/adapter.html BTW - From what I understand of not being a 'sealed' adapter.. actually they're designed that way on purpose. You're batteries should be sealed themselves if 'manual' + If your batteries are 'Auto' the sealed adapters won't work. Weather the adapter is sealed or not it won't effect juice getting into the battery. ( someone please correct me if i'm wrong ) The holes in some adapters are there to allow easier pulls. I've heard some atty's have a hard 'pull' and the holes remove that problem. I could be mistaken but that's my understanding of it. ( I actually ordered the sealed adapters for my Spade 510 to 801 atty going with that idea. )
  7. I had an issue w/ DOA batteries and atomizers on a $200 purchase. I actually joined this forum & ECF just to make sure I wouldn't have any headaches from shady business deals. I thought I would be safe, or atleast safer, and my bad experiences would be minimal. Not saying my experience with DietSmokes was shady but it just wasn't what I was expecting it to be. I received my purchase and that same exact day notified Parked bout the DOA items by ECF PM, E-Mail, his website's 'Ticket' System and even tried calling his phone # on the shipping label. After four days of no reply, I decided to google & see if others have had issues. I'm not going to go into details with what I had found posted but I will say it was enough of a concern to where I felt compelled to call my credit card's 800 number and ask for advice. They explained my options & I decided to ship the whole order back. All I wanted was replacements but after reading that others claimed to get no responses back from after as long as 6mths, I felt extremely vulnerable. After spending $200 & half my order arriving DOA I decided to dispute the charge just to be safe. Parked finally contacted me almost a full week later & said his 'Ticket' System was acting up. That was EXACTLY the same excuse I read about from past posts coming from Parked dating back nearly a year ago. >< To Parked's credit tho he did offer to refund my purchase & asked for me to cancel my dispute. I'm hoping he actually does what he said but as it stands I feel forced to go forward with my dispute unless otherwise notified by my credit card that my order has been refunded. From my own personal experience I can't really say I would recommend DietSmokes site for anyone to purchase from but I can say I feel fortunate my experience wasn't as bad as some others I have read. Parked seems like a reasonable enough and likeable guy. I just wish the dude would just step to the plate & make a change to how most people perceive his business practices. If its too much to handle for him then this probably isn't the right career path that he should be taking. Just my 0.02 BOTTOM LINE: That whole experience just makes me appreciate quality Customer Service, like Chris's, even more so.
