mischi3vous got a reaction from Ghostlarke in Federal legislation to tax e-cigs if FDA determines it is a "tobacco product"
The bottom line is, the government is losing money from all of us not buying analogs anymore and they have to find someway to make up that money. They didn't tax cigarettes so high because they want us off of them, but because we are addicted to them and they knew we'd pay. I'm sure if the government could find a way to do it they'd tax each and everyone of us for breathing.

mischi3vous reacted to Tam in It's been one year...
As of right now it's been one year since I got off analogs. Bought my first eGo T pass through on May 10, 2012 but still smoked while I got into vaping. Each day I smoked and wanted less until May 15th, I got off analogs completely and began vaping only. To be frank I've lit up a couple of times to satisfy my curiosity to see if I still had any desire to smoke again. After a couple drags I'd have to go brush my teeth and take a shower to get the taste out of my mouth and the smell out of my hair.
Since then it's been a wild ride while I've explored all kinds of new vapor related toys, found this forum and met some wonderful people who have been so very helpful. They've taught me so much and in turn I hope I've been able to pass some of that knowledge on to new vapers. I want to thank Christopher for creating this forum and for working tirelessly to make it even better. A special thank you to Kitsune for pushing direct dripping so much that I finally got the nerve to try it, and also to Blucavvy, Jeffb, Mark, McQuinn, VaperRon, Uma, and Rixter who patiently answered so many of my questions when I got stuck. I know I'm forgetting to name some people here but you have my wholehearted gratitude for your help and making me feel welcome.
After all the different methods tried, all the times I've tried to quit and failed miserably I'm so happy to be able to say, "This is it. I've been off cigarettes for one whole year. I hope to be able to say something like that next year...and the next...and the next...

mischi3vous got a reaction from tynik in Hi Everyone!
Welcome to Vapor Talk. Think I am finally about ready to make the big jump to no more cigarettes with vaping. I've cut down my smoking dramatically from 2 packs a day to just 5 cigarettes and I must say that I definately like the taste of the e-cig juice better than smoking tobacco.

Why would one want to "Kill a 10ml Bottle"? What did the 10ml bottle ever do to you?

mischi3vous got a reaction from daleron in New here with question about clearomizers
You can clean them, there's tons of videos on you tube on how I'm sure there's a few videos on this forum under tutorials. I've cleaned a few of mine it's not hard. To try out new flavors I've started using cartomizers they are cheap enough to throw away after you use them, I've gotten a few and taste my new juice I think I got a pack of 5 for around 3 dollars (can probably find them cheaper online). That way you're not really commited to a full clearomizer just to try them and if you decide to put them up to try later you haven't wasted much.

mischi3vous got a reaction from Christopher in Hello everyone, who can help me?
Thanks!! I am still fairly new to vaping so I wasn't sure, I haven't used a Nova. I think I'm kind of hooked on my Kanger T3's and Spinner.

mischi3vous reacted to Rixter in New here with question about clearomizers
Good point! I use all types of juice delivery devices, but the good ol' reliable Boge cartomizers are still a very cheap and effective way to vape hassle-free. They don't leak unless you over-fill them (just blow the excess out the bottom), and they last me a couple of weeks before the draw starts to tighten up some (YMMV).
I buy "bulk" and get 5 boxes of 'em (25 cartos) from SureVapes.com for $23 shipped. You can mix-n-match boxes of low or high resistance, standard or XL, & black or stainless steel.
BTW, if you plan on using a cone on your device to cover your carto, avoid the black Boges...the black "finish" is a vinyl wrap, which adds girth and causes the carto to fit too snugly through many cone openings, sealing off too much of your intake air in the process.

mischi3vous got a reaction from Uma in Article from E Cigarette Reviewed calls WHO to task
An interesting article where E Cigarettes Reviewed calls on the WHO to provide the research to back the bans against e-cigarettes in certain countries.

mischi3vous reacted to Tam in Liquid on battery contact normal?
Along with what Uma said, if you ever get gurgling from your cartomizer, atomizer, clearomizer, etc. Just unscrew it from the battery, dab the battery post, hold the tissue very loosely under the CE4 (we're going to pretend that's what you're using for this example so I don't have to keep typing everything every time ) and blow through the mouth piece.
Sometimes you get liquid inside the center post of the CE4 and that causes it to gurgle. Cleaning the battery post, dabbing out the under side of the CE4 and blowing through it to get the rest of the liquid out will also help.
There are a lot of really nice people on this forum. So much knowledge all in one place!

mischi3vous got a reaction from daleron in Husband has emphysema
Finally!! First night in a longgggggg time my hubby slept through the night, no coughing fits to wake him up with a need to use his rescue inhaler. He hasn't completely given up his cigarettes but we've found flavors he likes and he is using his e-cig.

Picked up a purple and a steel colored EVOD at my local brick and mortar store (Vapor Source). Also got a pack of five replacement coils and a 50 ml bottle of Mojito. It came in 30 PG/70 VG - much thicker than I usually use so I'll be thinning it with some distilled water once it's steeped.

mischi3vous reacted to mcquinn in Hello... Um, Vap-ers? lol
Welcome. You can get usable vapor from about any of them but an Ego type battery and a Vivi Nova tank or Vision Clearomisers will be more cost effective and less hassle in the long run.

I think you'll really like the Spinners. Go you! for finding one, they're always out of stock. I'm waiting for Gotvapes to get more 900 mAh in chrome right now.

mischi3vous got a reaction from Tam in Husband has emphysema
My husband was diagnosed with early stage emphysema a few years ago and since then he's been telling me that in order for him to quit smoking I need to quit. I can't say that I was ever into the idea of quitting because to be honest I enjoyed smoking. But I bought a couple of the n-joy kits about 5 years ago and gave it a shot, needless to say that was a complete flop what I enjoyed about smoking just wasn't there. Then he was gone in Afghanistan for a few years so I didn't worry about trying to quit.
He returned home about a year ago and he's being treated by the VA, well they finally gave him Chantix (I'm not so sure he really wants to quit). My daughter has a friend on facebook who was talking about this place she found local (Buckeye Vapors). I went and checked out what they had to offer..so much has changed since I bought the first n-joy's and for the better. I ended up spending almost $200 to get us both set up with stuff to start these are so much better the liquid with cartomizers is so much better than the other stuff I get the throat hit think that's what was missing before. First few days I went from 2 packs a day to 5 analogs a day had the typical sore throat for about 2 weeks woke up one morning and it was gone. My husband on the other hand, we've gone back to Buckeye Vapors and got him other flavors, stronger nicotine I've tried to explain to him about the sore throat and that if he'd just cut way back on the analogs and only use the e-cig and give it two weeks the sore throat would be gone but he doesn't believe me.
I can't believe I've figured out how I can quit (the reluctant one) and he's still going at the analog cigarettes. I'm not giving up my e-cigs it's nice to be able to breath when I wake up in the morning without the stuffy head and it's easier to breath period. Wish me luck on this journey because I think it's going to be a rough one to help him get him off the analogs and onto something that will be better for him.

mischi3vous reacted to lindsayfox in HuffPost Live Debate - No E-Cigarettes Allowed
Yes, but in this case "guilty until proven innocent". The media pretty much throws anything they can at e-cigs and expect us to prove them wrong. Is that fair?
I've used an analogy known as the "Russell's Teapot" - sound familiar? Well, basically it says that the anti-e-cig crowd should be the ones providing solid evidence to support their claims against e-cigs. It's a bit long but I think it calls for a great debate: *Link removed by admin*
I wrote a summary and rebuttal on the debate, in case anyone doesn't want to sit through the whole thing: *Link Removed by Admin*

mischi3vous got a reaction from lindsayfox in HuffPost Live Debate - No E-Cigarettes Allowed
Thanks for sharing! I agree it's like our legal system innocent until proven guilty. There is more than enough proof that cigarettes are bad for you, and yet they don't ban them so why ban e-cigs? They can't be nearly as hazardous to our health as cigarettes are.
