  1. Just ordered: 100ml bobo bounty and 100ml gorilla juice from avejuice, 100ml dragons blood and 100ml dragons tear from ecblends, 100ml custards last stand and 30 creme brulee from nicoticket. I get home for halloween so they will have steeped nicely and ready for vaping.
  2. Thanks for the replies. I dont plan on continuing to vape at 6 volts. It sort of just happened and I wanted to know and see how it performed. Great information. Personally I'm of the mindset for a longer battery life as I'm away from a power source for long periods of time. Happy Vaping.
  3. Ok. Today I was messing around and rebuilt my first nova coil. Thing is I must have screwed up and in the end when I tested the ohm's it showed a whopping 4.6 ohms. I thought bleh, what the heck, lets try it out and at the moment it seems to be holding up pretty well vaping at 6 volts. The taste seems to be just fine and no burning what so ever. My question is, is there anything dangerous that I need to know about when vaping a high ohm coil at high voltage? How will this affect battery life as well as opposed to vaping 1.5-1.8 ohm coils. I've googled and havent really found anything conclusive about it and am hoping some of you more experienced rebuilders can help me out here. As usual thanks a bunch in advance. DG
  4. My go to juice is Miser-e-Liquid's Ry4 with menthol @12mg and recently Dragons Blood 12mg from ECblends.
  5. I've got some white cotton yarn from Walmart (under $5 for the entire ball). I like your method. Similar enough like Rixter's. Now to try out the cotton yarn rather than the silica. I boiled my cotton for 45 minutes and let it air dry for about 36 hours. Thanks for the post.
  6. This may address all your concerns. Might be a little higher than expected (kick not included) but its built like a tank and it could be the only mod you might need for a long time. I'm gonna get this one as well and its been getting great reviews.
  7. Nope never once has TSA said anything about my bags. I have seen other passengers with larger baggies than quart size as well. My trips come in from Baghdad/Kuwait into Dulles, Washington. From there I fly to Tampa. And the same way out from Tampa to Dulles and back to Kuwait/Baghdad again. I've never had any issues on the legs between Tampa and Dulles. I have yet to fly a different route since I've been vaping. Good luck but if you want to test the gallon size baggie, take a few extra 5 quart size baggies just in case the TSA who check you have a problem with the gallon size. It will give you guaranteed place to still carry your liquids.
  8. It is massive. But the BAM 2 is even more massive. I was even considering the HAM but havent gotten comfortable enough with rebuilding full time yet.
  9. I never use or have used quart sized baggies. I always use gallon size bags. They dont care how big the baggie is as long as its a clear bag. At least in my experience. I would never put any of my vape supplies in my checked luggage. I consider it too valuable for that.
  10. I'm also gonna toy around as well. I'm gonna try a 5/3 and a 6/3 to see what I get. Interesting this stuff is. I love it.
  11. I travel internationally about every 2 months. I have never been stopped or questioned in any airport within the US or abroad. I normally carry up to 5 spare batteries as well as up to 500 + ml of juice in my carry on.
  12. Thanks for that tip about removing the needle before inserting the bottom grommet and pin. It makes sense. I wasnt actually removing the needle until after the entire assembly was put together. I will most definitely give that a shot. And as in your edit I did notice on earlier attempts that I did in fact push the wick up a tad when inserting the grommet and pin. Seriously though getting a consistent 1.5 ohms was super easy. Almost magical IMO. I'm using 3.5mm wick just like you have described in the OP. Thanks.
  13. I'm really interested in buying the Bombshell Stinger kit http://shop.hotvapes.com/BombShell-Stinger-Kit-StingerKit.htm I really like the idea of having the long lasting MNKE 26650 battery, the ability to kick it, and the sturdiness of the design as my overseas job involves being outdoors, in and out of armored vehicles, and constantly on foot. If any of you have any experience or not with this mod I would love to hear your views and opinions on it. I've seen GrimmGreen's video review and he seems to give it a great review.
  14. Began at 24mg, now at 12mg and beginning to toy with 6mg. When I get down to 0mg I will most likely still vape as I enjoy the flavors.
  15. I'm vaping 4-6ml a day. It could be a little more now that I am using 1.5 ohm attys. Seems to me that the lower I went and the power went up with it that the juice is just evaporating. I guess that is to be expected but I think if I was using standard 2.4 ohm attys I might be actually be vaping less. Weird huh?
  16. I've rebuilt 5 new heads using your method and all of them came out to a perfect 1.5 ohms. I must say though that I'm still experimenting because 2 out of the 5 although both 1.5 ohms I must have done something a little wrong as the draw was way too tough. I've since rebuilt them and they are working spot on. I dont know what I did wrong (perhaps wound the kanthal wire too tightly or something). Do any of you better at rebuilding have any ideas what I could have done wrong so others or myself wont make the same mistake? The other method I had been using (found on youtube) was to take a pin and thread it into the center of the silica wick. What a disaster that was for me because no matter how thin the needle the silica wick alway began to unthread itself when the needle was inserted. Your method is much more easier. Thanks again Rixter!
  17. Great tutorial. Very helpful. Congrats on the pin.
  18. When I went about cleaning my PT 2 I removed the flavor wick because it was slightly burnt. When I reassembled my tank I replaced the flavor wick. When I began to use my PT 2 I did notice some seepage and gurgling that I had never experienced before. I immediately disassembled the head and noticed that when I assembled the stem to the head that it crushed my flavor wick. It was not laying flat on top of the wick and coil assembly. It was skewered off to one side, which would allow fluid direct access to the wick and coil assembly. I made another flavor wick and used as much care as possible to avoid what I just explained. It apparently worked as my PT 2 has not leaked. This leads me to believe that the leakage that I experienced was due to the improper placement of the flavor wick. As a side note whenever I have replaced the the old head all together with a new one, I have never experienced any leakage or gurgling what so ever. YMMV
  19. +1 what irwink said. From what I have read many people do have flooding problems but it is from the improper placement / missing flavor wick after cleaning. That being said my protank 2 has no problems with leakage and I love it.
  20. Been doing some experimenting and I removed the rubber seal that comes on the post and sorta sits on the wick. IMO I can really taste the juice. Best juice taste yet and no leaks. YMMV.
  21. Before I left for work I bought a Kanger MT3S with 2 5 packs of replacement heads. When at work I tried it and decided I dont like it very much plus it only holds like 1.5-2 ml of juice. I was experimenting today and found out that even though the MT3S heads are a tad smaller they still work perfectly in my protank 2. I thought that with the slightly smaller head that I would experience some minor leaking issues, but I have been using it for half the morning and no leaks. I'm so stoked at this because I only bought one pack of replacement heads for my protank 2 and now I have 3. Woohoo!
  22. Thanks very much for the info Uma. I'm gonna check out the 'Bug' also. Experimenting with new mods is fun but I love being safe first. Knowledge is power.
  23. Cool many thanks IMEDIC. I've been doing tons of reading on the topic and have learned a lot. I've installed an app on my galaxy note 2 called ohms law calculator to assist me with understanding more about voltage, resistance and power. Its pretty cool and helps out as math was never my strong suit. All I have to do is input the information and it computes exactly the voltage or power based on the numbers input. A quick question though, when I am using the power (vw) calculator the first set of numbers its asks to be input is voltage. This is just the voltage of the battery correct? The second number to be input is the resistance and of course I know this is the ohm resistance of my cartomizer. When I input these two numbers it automatically gives me the power that I can vape at in watts. The thing that confuses me is the voltage number it asks for. I have an aw imr 18650. When it is fully charged it reads about 4.2 volts. Is this the voltage number the calculator is asking for? I feel that I'm so close to grasping this whole ohms law, but it really does confuse me sometimes. I apologize for asking so much and really appreciate everyones assistance. *edit* Or is the voltage input that the calculator is asking for the voltage that I like to vape at? So if this is right and let's say my sweet spot that I like to vape at is 4.2 volts then its 4.2 squared divided by resistance (ohms) which will equal 9.28 watts). Am I doing this right?
  24. Thanks Uma, but do you know if its safe to vape without the kick using standard cartomizers in the 1.8-3.0 ohm range? *edit* or will it burn them without the wattage regulation?
