  1. Thanks everyone, It's great to hear that no one has had a problem or a fire. I think I'll probably just play it safe and do the charging in the day time. Sorry it took me so long to reply, but I've been out of town and away from the computer. ....Pam
  2. Thanks so much. I'm really not that worried. It's got to be safer than what's in cigarette smoke. ...Pam
  3. Thanks so much for the helpful input. Sorry to be so late in replying, but I've been out of town and away from the computer for the last two days. ...Pam
  4. Since I've been vaping, I've developed the strangest feeling in my throat. It's hard to describe, but it feels as if it has a coating on it. I drink coffee or sodas constantly, and you'd think that if it's the PG, it would wash off. Has anybody ever had this happen? If so, what did you do to counteract the feeling?
  5. All of these chargers that come out of China have no UL approval. Has anyone ever heard of one catching on fire? I've been a bit wary about leaving my batt on the charger during the night or while I'm away from the house. Can they be considered perfectly safe?
  6. Since I quit putting the juice on the cart, removed the cart, and am now dripping onto the atty, it's getting better. I think the attys are all probably the real thing, because they came from reliable and recommended sellers. In all likelihood the problem is me. Thanks for all your help!
  7. Well, I've tried twice to upload the pictures, but here's one last try. The one of the inside of the atty isn't very clear, but it's the best I could do.
  8. I've taken a picture of both the inside and the outside of the atty. I opened up a new one that is one of two that I also bought as spares from Rockymountainvapor.com. I haven't used either of them, but I looked carefully, and they look exactly like the ones I got from Arno. I'll edit the pictures and will try to upload them shortly.
  9. Yes, I see something that looks silver, but it looks more like a "C" shape on either side of the atomizer. It might go all the way around, but I'm not certain. I bought the starter kit from Arno at Awsomevapor.com, and I was told that he was a reliable seller. He seems to be very honest and is quite helpful.
  10. Hi friends, I started out using the carts that came with the 510 and found that they last only a few minutes before needing topping off again. I've been lifting the filler and putting enough juice on it so that it looks slushy and not puddled and then pushing it back in so that it's even with the edge of the mouthpiece. Sometimes I get a good throat hit from it, but most times I don't, and the cartridge needs re-juicing after only three or four hits. Now I'm trying direct dripping, but I'm not having much luck with that either. I blew out the atty, took the cart out of the mouthpiece, trimmed off the plastic a bit, then dripped two drops onto the atty. Still I'm getting only a modest amount of vapor, and after a few hits, it tastes really nasty. What can I do to get it to consistently give me those hard-hitting throat hits like I experience every once in a while and the big puff of vapor like Christopher shows in his demonstration video of the 510? Help!!!! ....Pam
  11. Thanks so much, everyone. I was hoping that you were going to say that they would last a while. A couple of spares for the day will do me for right now, but I will eventually get a PCC. ....Pam
  12. If I'm going to be out of the house for the better part of the day, could I take four or five charged Joye 510 batts with me and just pop on a new batt as each one runs down? I'm getting only about an hour and a half on a batt before it needs recharging. I have a car charger, but I don't remain in the car long enough for it to do a full charge. If I were to leave in the morning with my charged-up supply of batts, would the last one still be holding a charge by late evening? I'll probably spring for one of those charger cases eventually, but it seems just as easy to me to simply take along a few fully-charged batts. What do you think?
  13. I just read where the FDA said that they analyzed E-juice and found it to contain carcinogens and toxic chemicals. I thought it was reasonably safe. Can anyone elaborate on this?
  14. Thanks for the suggestions. I've never heard the thing about using coffee grounds, but I certainly won't have any problem coming up with some. I drink about 5 pots of coffee a day!
  15. Thanks, everyone, for the great suggestions. I'm going to give all of them a try and see what works best for me. And I love the idea from Gweetus for convenient dripping. I've got lots of carts, so I think I'll give that a try, too.
  16. Hi folks, You are the ones who got me off of analogs and onto E-cigs, so I hold you 100% responsible for my newly-found sense of smell!! Now here's the problem that you are obliged to tell me how to solve: My house stinks to high heaven! I've lived here about two years and have smoked in it daily. The smoke odor is in everything, even the walls smell, so it's no wonder my children complain when they come for a visit. HELP!!! Tell me what to do, and please don't say for me to have the whole inside of the house repainted. I just went through that right before I moved in, and it cost about 4 grand! I'm looking forward to suggestions. Thanks! ...Pam
  17. Whew!!!! When I saw the topic as "Rocky Mountain Vapors", my heart sank. I just knew that someone was complaining about a terrible experience with them. Praise the Lord, it was a positive comment followed by more of the same. I just ordered a battery and a couple of 510 attys from them yesterday and was just about ready to kick myself in the behind for not having done my homework before placing the order. Now I'm a happy vaper. Thanks, guys, for providing this information!
  18. I've had my Joye 510 for about a week now and would like to know what some of you do on a daily basis to maintain it. In the directions it says to clean the various parts with a tissue dipped in purified un-perfumed alcohol. What the heck is that? It also says to remove the cartridge at night and put the atomizer on a dry rack. Do any of you do that? I'm so addicted to cigs that I want one on the nightstand right next to my bed so that it'll be ready to light up first thing in the morning. Would it be a good idea to swap atomizers (I have 2)each day so that I can have one disassembled each night like the directions say? Or would it be better to use one atomizer only until such time that it poops completely out and not bother to disassemble it at all? I've ordered two spare attys plus a spare battery, so I should be able to have one ready to go at all times, that is, if it's ok to leave it assembled during the night. An unrelated question: How do you go about putting the wadding back into the cartridge when you do a refill? I make a god-awful mess and get that juice all over the countertop and myself. I tried using tweezers, but I always wind up putting it back with my fingers. Yuck! Do you drip the liquid right onto the wadding when you take it out, or is it better to put the semi-dry wadding back into a half filled cartridge? I've also noticed something: When the atty starts to dry out, I get that burned taste, so sometimes I just top off the cart with a couple of drops of juice or just direct drip it onto the atty. That works for a few drags but has to be repeated so often that it becomes aggravating. So I'll finally decide to take the wadding out to do a refill only to find that the wadding is still pretty well saturated and gooshy. Why isn't the liquid wicking onto the atomizer? OK, one final question: I stay away from the house a lot and don't want to always have to take a charger with me. I'd rather just take a couple of charged up batteries. How long will a charge last on an unused battery? Sorry I got so long-winded, but I'm full of questions at this point. I've tried using the search feature on the forum, but it apparently only allows you to search for individual words instead of phrases, i.e., refill batt. I've even tried using the plus sign like you do with internet searches but to no avail. Anyway - thanks a million for your patience with me. I look forward to your comments. ........Pam
  19. I've only been at this for about three days now, and I admit that I'm not completely off of analogs yet, but I've cut down tremendously. I don't own but one ashtray, and I always carried it with me from room to room and kept it emptied. Not pursuing that old habit was about to drive me crazy, so I just gave in to it. I take the ashtray with me and use it as a resting place for my 510 between drags. Old habits die hard, and that's a harmless one that's certainly not going to cause health problems. BTW - I live alone, so it doesn't look stupid to anyone but me. Guess I could refrain when company comes.
  20. Thanks, guys. I love the encouragement I'm getting from all of you. I've still got a lot of questions, but I'm learning something new every day.
  21. If I direct drip, will it damage the atty? About how many hits would I get from one drop placed on the atty? Will blowing out the atty clean it well enough after direct dripping? How do you do yours? It sounds like the way to go for me. Refilling that cart is messy. I suppose I'd get better at it after some practice, but it just sounds easier to drip on the atty.
  22. I received my Joye 510 yesterday and have charged each battery the full 8 hours, as Arno recommended. I put it all together this morning and started vaping only to discover that I wasn't getting much vapor at all, even by giving it a few primer puffs. The cartridge looked slushy to me, but I went ahead and dripped a couple of drops of juice onto it anyway. It seems to be doing a fairly good job now, but I'd still like to know if I did the right thing by adding extra juice to the cartridge. I don't want to anything to harm this little cream puff. Someone please let me know. I have another question, too, and I'm going to ask it because y'all (yes, I'm from the south) told me that there were no stupid questions. When the vapor diminishes, how will I know what the cause is? Is it the battery that needs recharging? Is it the cartridge that needs refilling? Is it the atomizer that's going on the fritz? Will the battery blink if it needs to be recharged even after I've let go of the on/off button? Now - one more question, and I'm done for right now. The cartridges that came with the 510 are filled with 18 mg juice. I'm not getting a powerful throat hit like I'd like. Does the strength of the nicotine have anything at all to do with this, or does the throat hit feel the same whether you're using 0 nicotine or the highest strength? Can't wait to hear from y'all. .....Pam
