  1. Thanks for clearing that up. So far the burnt taste hasn't been metallic, so I guess I'm ok right now leaving the bridge in. If it comes to that point, maybe I'll try to remove it. I won't have anything to lose anyway by then. ...Pam
  2. Thanks! Guess I'll start saving my money. ...Pam
  3. Thanks for the info. I might try that soon. ...Pam
  4. Thanks, Vegas. I understood exactly what you meant, and I have a strainer I can put in the pot. Sounds like a great way to clean them. ...Pam
  5. Can the premade ones that cost $25 be reused and refilled?
  6. I just checked the VT store for the PT. They're sold out, but I assume they'll be getting some more soon. There was no price listed. About how much do they cost?
  7. I'm thrilled with all these wonderful replies. I'm going to buy one just as soon as I can. Thanks a million! ....Pam

  9. Wow! Great explanation, Schiz. I appreciate it. ...Pam
  10. Please excuse this reply. Somehow I accidentally skipped over a forum page where some of you sent the explanation. I'll try to be more careful next time. ...Pam
  11. Please explain to me how T-tips work. Thanks, Pam
  12. I clicked on the link to Stealthvapor, but I couldn't figure out what they were talking about or how much it will hold or how long you can go without refilling. They said that they have them in stock, but I never saw a link to a page where you can order them. How much do they cost? Will you post back after you've tried them out? I'd appreciate it. ...Pam
  13. That sounds great, and I assume you mean that you get those 10 draws from an atty that has no threads. Or do you mean no threads or bridge? Is there really any reason to take out the bridge? Seems to me that the threads would be what causes the burned taste.
  14. About how long do you let them sit in the boiling water? Do you keep it boiling the whole time the attys are sitting in it?
  15. I haven't yet bought a pass through, but all the ones I've seen connect to the USB port on the computer. I do like to vape at the computer, but I'd really like to have a pass through I can plug in to the wall socket and use on the couch while watching TV. Is there such a thing? If so, where can I obtain one? ....Pam
  16. Thanks, Snubber. I'm now up to two weeks and one day!!
  17. I'm still pretty much a noobie, especially when it comes to mods. I checked out your link and found the T-tips, but I certainly didn't find out anything about them or how they work. Can you explain a little further as to how to use them? I'd appreciate it. ...Pam
  18. That was exactly what I expected would happen if I juiced up several, but I just wanted to make sure before I tried it. Looks like I'm back to base one. Thanks! ...Pam
  19. Hi Guys, Thanks so much for the great info! I watched Phee's wick removal and bridge removal videos, and they are so very good! Many thanks to him for posting them. I have one question, though. If I remove all of the wicking, then drip, how many drops should I put, and how many hits should I expect before having to drip again with the standard 510? I don't feel comfortable trying to remove the bridge. As clumsy as I am, I'm sure to destroy the entire atty if I try that. I don't ever use carts. I was having to drip onto the cart to get some vapor any way, so I figured that I might as well remove them and just direct drip.
  20. Thanks so much for the suggestion. I haven't tried boiling the attys, but I have poured boiling distilled water through them. Perhaps I should do this more often. I do have two more attys that I haven't even used yet, just waiting on these to die. Maybe I should rotate them like I do the batteries.
  21. Today I ran several errands and was away from home for about three hours. I took my Joye 510, some liquid, and a spare battery. It seemed like every time I came out of a store, it was time to drip some more. And then a couple of times, I had to drip as I was going down the road. I obviously flooded the atty one time, so I had to take a napkin and mop it out a bit and juice it back up, all while driving. That was not a lot of fun. There's got to be a better way. I'm considering just taking three or four complete 510's with the attys already juiced up, but I'm sure I'll still have to drip some while I'm gone. Do any of you have any suggestions? I'd appreciate your input. ...Pam
  22. Hi - Yesterday I put a rolled-up piece of paper towel in my flooded atty, and when I took it out a little while ago, I noticed what looked like little bits of the towel on one side of the arched mesh metal part. (I don't know what that's called.) I took the tweezers and pulled it out only to discover that it was several short silky-looking threads. I assume that's actually part of the atty. I was hesitant to use it but went ahead and tried. It seems to work just fine, but have I damaged it? Just curious.
  23. Hi everybody, I've been rotating attys, but both of them behave the same way. I got my two starter sets from Arno at Awesomevapor.com and feel sure that they are the real thing. I'm using liquid from both Arno and Rockymountainvapor.com, and they both appear to be identical. I'm having to recharge the battery about every two hours or less, and I'm careful to wipe off the threads on the atty as well as the recessed part of the battery before I put it on the charger. I'm rotating among 5 batteries, and I even have them numbered 1-5 (I used a White Out pen to write on them.) I also wipe both of those parts whenever juice oozes out. I guess my biggest complaint is lack of consistency. One time the 510 will work great after dripping, giving me several great hits and no juice leaks out. Then the very next time I drip, it leaks, gives poor vapor, and just generally aggravates me. I've been using these two attys for three weeks now, so I find it hard to believe that they're pooping out. They seem to get quite hot.
  24. I apologize for always being in need of help and too inept to offer others any advice, but I'm determined to get this right! For a short while my Joye 510 was doing fine. I was using about 2 ml of juice a day and was getting some good throat hits from my dripping. Now it seems like I'm doing everything wrong. Let me begin by saying that I feel sure it's not the fault of the juice or the atty, because occasionally I still get great throat hits and about 10 hits from two drops on the atty. That's rare, though. Today I've been through almost 3 ml of juice in less than 4 hours! This is how it goes: I start out with a freshly charged battery. I drip two drops onto the atty that I have already blown out and blotted with a paper towel. I draw very slowly on my 510 and get only a small amount of vapor. Next draw is the same. The third draw produces a bit more vapor, but so far no good throat hits. Next draw produces a halfway decent throat hit. Then I get the burned taste. I put two more drops on the atty, take a draw that produces only a tiny bit of vapor. Then the juice starts coming out between the atty and the batt. I take it apart and dry off the connections, screw it back together, and take another draw. Again only a small amount of vapor is produced. Assuming that there may be a puddle of juice in the atty, I take a paper towel, roll it up, and mop out the atty. Now here comes the burned taste, so I have to add more drops, and the cycle continues. This is starting to drive me crazy. This juice isn't cheap, and I'm running through it really fast. The paper towel I've been using all morning barely has a dry spot on it from my mopping up the atty and cleaning up the juice that comes out onto my fingers. Heaven forbid that I try to vape in the car. Between mopping up juice and re-dripping the atty, I become an accident waiting to happen. BTW - it matters not which atty I use, this is the way it always happens. Thanks in advance for reading my rambling. I look forward to someone telling me what I'm doing wrong and how to correct my mistakes. I've already tried cartridges, and that was a real bummer for me, so I threw them out and went to direct dripping. I have a serious fear of resorting back to analogs, so I need to get this e-cig thing right! ....Pam
  25. Thanks for all the input, and it's good to hear that it's not just me with the strange feeling in the throat. I think that the problem probably does have a lot to do with the frequency of the hits. When I smoked my last analog a week ago today, I timed just how long it actually took to finish it, just smoking casually and not trying to break any speed records. I also counted the number of normal drags it took. It took me seven minutes and ten drags to finish it. Since I started direct dripping, I've found that two drops directly on the atty will last close to ten hits, so when I get that slightly burnt taste, I add two more drops and put the 510 down for a while. I had been vaping so much that it was like chain smoking. My throat is a little better now, but even if the problem persists, it still beats smoking analogs. ....Pam
