Lyrical reacted to Tam in Having a bad vape day!
I'm so sorry to hear about your mother but I'm very glad you switched to vaping and made good on your promise. Best wishes for a long good vaping streak with your new mod!

Sorry to hear about your mother.
I have these off days as well. I noticed with me it's usually when I'm in a hurry.

I'm always up for more pictures too Steve!!
I'm ready for spring to get here so I can see my 6 box turtles again! I always worry that they won't make it over winter, and we've had an especially hard winter here.

Oh Tam...please give your mother a huge hug for me! Hugs to you too!
I understand. I lost my mom to COPD and emphysema 17 years ago. We suspected she had either one or both for years but she refused to go to the doctor. She smoked for 50 years and was up to two cartons of cigarettes a week.
She broke her arm and as they were putting her under sedation to operate on it, they discovered her breathing difficulties. She was then diagnosed and started treatment. She ended up getting pneumonia and passed away 9 1/2 weeks later. She made me promise to stop smoking. I promised I would. I just didn't say when. Obviously I finally made good on that promise a year ago!
18 months ago, after a cold turned into bronchitis and sent me to the emergency room, I too was diagnosed with COPD and emphysema.
I actually got a pack of my cigarettes out last night. I looked at them. I smelled them. I put them back! Woohoo!
I can't go back to them, I just can't. I won't. I got my V8 mech mod in the mail today and found a brand new Vivi Nova tank I didn't know I had. This thing is big and heavy and I'm not used to the bottom button but IT VAPES and hopefully my 4 day bad vape streak is through! (knocks on wood)
Thanks for your support Tam, and everyone, and Tam, remember to give your mother hugs for me!

Lyrical reacted to bcartervol98 in Pulmonary Surprise
I was in ICU for two days last Memorial Day after having symptoms of a heart attack. It ended up being severe dehydration ( I drank wayyy too much in the heat outside at the lake) causing edema but I was allowed to openly vape in my room. The cardiologist said my switch to vaping may have added not just years but decades to my life.

Kanger Protank II a couple weeks ago then a Smok Zmax. I love this thing. Huge step up from the ego batteries that I was using.

I had more Bad Vape days with the old 901 and 510 stick bats and attys than I do with the tanks and mods. But yeah, I still have them. I can empathize with your troubles.

Lyrical got a reaction from LiL Miss DeL ReY Vape in Good juices, priced great
I get a lot of my juices from Mt. Baker Vapor. I just checked my receipts, my orders range from 2 to 4 days to get to me. I especially like that you can have them add extra flavor "shots" to your bottles.

Lyrical reacted to Bebop in mods and VV / vw advice
3.7 volts is the industry "standard" in basic vaping. Any device that puts out a fixed voltage (isn't variable) is putting out roughly 3.7 volts. Generally it's the perfect balance of power to the heating element (coil) that produces enough heat to give you good vapor.
If you wanted to cook an egg, you could cook it on "low" and wait 15mins- but that's too long. If you cook it on "high" you burn the outside before it cooks in the middle. So somewhere there is a happy medium that balances the cooking time with thorough cooking. Same with vaporizing. 3.7 volts is the "medium" temp that gives you a nice vape. BUT...
Not all juices are created equal. And not all heating elements (coils) are created equal. Some juices can stand a little more heat and still taste good or even better. Some guys smarter than us figured out how to make custom heating coils that can vaporize lots of juice and produce big vapor and lots of taste. And so Variable Voltage was born. With variable voltage you can cook on medium low or stir fry your juice on high, but it requires a proper set up with coil and juice to make a difference.
For most of us "regular vapers" we will never vary our voltage outside of roughly 3.7 - 4.0 volts. In a regular off the shelf coil and tank set up 3.7 volts is the sweet spot and the only variation is the juice. Some juices can take a little more voltage and taste good. Some juices don't like a higher temp (in an off the shelf set up). Variable voltage give you the ability to finely adjust your voltage to your juice.
When you get in to advanced vaping and building your own coils then Variable voltage gives you lots more "playground". You can build super duper coils that can take high voltage and throw massive clouds but this requires more skill and technique and an aptitude for electronics and tinkering that a lot of people don't want to be bothered with to be safe. (Safety is a factor when dealing with advanced set ups. If you don't know what you are doing you can create an ego pipe bomb - I'm being dramatic)
Devices like the Vamo described above are slightly more advanced than a fixed voltage e-cig and are relatively safe because the tanks you put on top of them are still off-the-shelf and user friendly. But they do give you the variability to adjust voltage just like the ego twist or the vision spinner style batteries. They come with a few more features and bells and whistles and they are cool looking and match larger tanks and such.
Wattage - the short version is that the term wattage is used to describe the power that is generated when you put a certain voltage across a coil or heating element. When you "vary the wattage" you are still just "varying the voltage". It's looking at the same equation from two different sides and relatively meaningless to the average vaper.
Hope that helps a little.

I think everyone has days like that.
There was one particular day that I only took two batteries with tankfuls of juice in them. One coil died and the other was going -- fast. Just happened that on that day I didn't have any back ups with me like I usually do. Then a battery died and I discovered that I left my usual back up battery at home.
After that I just turned around and went back home. With things going south that fast for me I decided that I would be better off staying home for the rest of the day.
Hope the rest of your day went much smoother!

Lyrical got a reaction from Vispera in KVapor V81
Another thing I had been thinking of in wanting to get a mod is...I thought it would be more cost effective to just have to buy single batteries rather than buying new eGos or whatever when the old ones wear out.
It's all still cheaper than smoking...

You can put whatever you want on a mech mod its no different then having a regular ego but you get a better look and replaceable batteries my wife uses my k100 with pro tanks and loves the bigger size and look compared to ego style batteries

I just thought that was the "next step". I have the KR808d-1s I started out with, I have several eGos - from 450 mAh to 1100 mAh, a 1100 Vision Spinner and a 1300 mAh Vision Spinner, a1300 mAh Ego-C Twist, an iTaste MVP VV and an iTaste MVP.
Obsessive...or normal, I'm not sure.

I'm inclined to believe the word "obsessive" is relative. Lol!
