  1. Judge upholds that FDA can regulate e-cigarettes A federal district judge in Washington Friday upheld the Food and Drug Administration’s decision to regulate electronic cigarettes and cigars like conventional cigarettes. In a 93-page decision, U.S. District Judge Amy Berman Jackson rejected arguments by Nicopure Labs, LLC, a Florida manufacturer of liquids used in e-cigarettes, and the Right to be Smoke-Free Coalition, which includes the American Vaping Association, e-cigarette companies and state trade groups. They had contended that the FDA, in deciding to regulate e-cigarettes and related products, exceeded its authority and violated the Administrative Procedure Act. But Jackson concluded that “the agency acted within the scope of its statutory authority.” Under the FDA rule, she noted, “manufacturers of e-cigarettes are now required to tell the 30 million people who use the devices what is actually in the liquid being vaporized and inhaled.” The fight over what’s known as the FDA “deeming rule” is far from over. Another half-dozen lawsuits are pending. Source
  2. Interesting. I've marked this post as promoted so hopefully some others can chime in and perhaps offer some incite.
  3. I've been vaping for almost 8 years now and I can't recall anyone mentioning anything like this off the top of my head. That would indicate to me that you've got a blood pressure issue, though I'm in no way a doctor. Do you get the pins and needles anywhere specific? Whole body? Have you tried using another e liquid rather than the brand you are using now? (And yikes if that did help, no e liquid should ever result in such a weird side effect)
  4. hmm I haven't heard of their new coils changing. 3-4 days sounds a bit short. :/
  5. The liquid that's usually in the atomizer, is normally zero nicotine, unflavored e liquid. They started doing it years ago when users would put an atomizer on without adding e liquid. (this was back when the devices were simple). These days however, it doesn't do much to help if someone forgets to add eliquid.
  6. Especially if you ever have to deal with traffic
  7. fooo! Didn't you have another account with us? (If so I can merge those accounts for yah)
  8. Most people refer to them now as "drop in coil tanks" though the names sort of change each year it seems like. Clearomizers are generally more like the CE4's. (At least that's what comes to my mind when I think of a clearo). TVF8's can produce some pretty hefty clouds and is a sub ohm unit, but rather than build your own coil, you "drop" a coil in and go. it's a convenience thing. (Like me, I use drop in coils because while making your own coils is the way to go, I just love the convenience of drop in coils) Another benifit to building your own coils is that it's cheaper however, please, for the love of vaping, look into battery safety. We've shied away from rebuildables not because they aren't awesome but we've had some....situations in which users were getting ahead of themselves. (Ridiculously low ohms, mixed with the wrong battery type, on a mechanical mod = a bad situation) We have a good rebuildable community here on the forum (see the rebuildable categories). Everyone is super helpful, it's always better to pester and ask than to be sorry
  9. That is correct. That's been the case since last year (though not too many vendors are actually following the rule). What this does is give vendors (and vapers at least) some breathing room over the next few years and potentially even some time to lobby against certain aspects of PMTA. (Though honestly, I feel it's probably here to stay). I know of a few large vendors who had exit strategies in place for next year. At least for now, those are sidelined.
  10. First, thanks for respecting the rules Generally speaking, so long as it's for personal use and you are up front about what you plan to do with the poll for the members sake, there really aren't any restrictions. Just no spamming or marketing and you're basically good to go.
  11. Sometimes it can be a bad coil but it's usually (there are other factors) one of two things. One, you didn't let the coil sit long enough to soak up liquid (that doesn't sound like what happened). The other issue is that the device you purchased is new and often is set on the highest wattage. The wattage on the device may have been too high for the coil and thus burning it out. (Sounds more likely to be the case). Generally speaking, when you use a new device you should always start the wattage low and slowly work up. (start at 8 watts and go from there). At some point, it will start to taste "off" and you can pull back the wattage a little. Then you have your sweet spot.

  13. whoah so my email box was filling up this morning. This is turning out to be quite a big deal. This pushes the shutdown date from August next year until well into 2022. This is big news actually. We just a big conference call last week about handling the August 2018 deadline. Talk about throwing a wrench into the mix. Not to steal FX's thunder I might create a new thread and push out to the social networks with more info.
  14. This is an older video but might help: If it makes you feel better, I've been vaping for 8 years and I still can't do it very well
  15. I just uploaded some modified files to the server, can you let me know if TapaTalk is now connecting for you? The Vapor Talk App should now also be back online (tested).
  16. Hey Gadget, Jeff broke it. Actually, we are having some issues with our open API that supports tapa talk and the Vapor Talk app. I hope to have this resolved as early as today. It's not you, it's us.
  17. This is actually a great question and one that I'm often asked. There is an easy way to actually visually see the difference between vaping and cigarettes. Grab a smoker and some tissue. Fold the tissue in half, then ask the smoker to blow through the tissue. Ask them to do this three more times. You'll be absolutely shocked at the yellowing left behind on the tissue paper. Now, repeat the process with your e cigarette, do it 5 or even 10 times. You should notice, no stain And if for some reason there was a stain, switch liquids because I've done this test more times than I can count for people and I've never stained tissue with an e-cigarette. On a side note, as british born guy, I'm pretty self conscious about my teeth. (Cavity free my whole life!). When I was a smoker, no matter how hard I tried, I generally suffered from yellowing. These days I'm pretty happy with how white my teeth are. It's been 8 years now and my teeth look great. (And any yellowing that I do have is likely from coffee).
  18. At the moment, the iPower 80 w/ Nautilus 2 and Vapor Talk's Crown Jewels. Enjoying the Nautilus 2 as a M2L device but it leaks a bit from time to time.
  19. Gov. Christie on Friday signed into law legislation that raises the minimum age for purchasing tobacco products and electronic cigarettes in New Jersey from 19 to 21. Vendors licensed to sell tobacco products would be subject to fines of up to $1,000 for violating the law. Christie, a Republican, has made anti-addiction initiatives a priority of his two terms in office. “By raising the minimum age to purchase tobacco products to 21, we are giving young people more time to develop a maturity and better understanding of how dangerous smoking can be, and that it is better to not start smoking in the first place,” Christie said in a statement. “My mother died from the effects of smoking, and no one should lose their life due to any addictive substance,” he said. “Additionally, the less people who develop costly tobacco habits that can cause heal read full story
  20. I had to share this as I find it so awesome. Google's voice technology varies it's output depending on the accent that is used.
  21. That's not unusual. Drama always fuels conversation. It's probably why Vapor Talk, at least compared to many other forums, is usually a little "quieter." Over the years, we always quickly shut down those types of posts. Debate of course is always fine but the rule is always "attack the topic and not the poster."
