  1. EDIT: I've create a note in our changelog for this to be repaired.
  2. ah you know what, looks like you're using the old them (4.1) I forgot to switch everyone over last night. I'm going to adjust that real quick. (You can switch back if you'd like using the "Change Theme" option in the footer of the site) I'll have to make some edits to that template
  3. Alright folks I've created change log: Change font size from 12 to 14 Change text color from gray to something close to black Fix Purple highlighting issue Possibly add "new content" link in the footer of the forum If I'm missing anything else, let me know and I'll update
  4. ah I see what you mean now, that is pretty horrible! This we can fix no problem. Might take a day or so while we get a changelog going but that's no good. Thanks for bring it up, honest, these feedback threads are great for us. Seems to be the running complaint to far, this we'll definitely change!
  5. Tell you what I'll enable the .4 version for VIP's we are planning on adding a darker version of this theme as well (This is the default theme) The Goal is to have Default | Darker | Night Mode. As for the text I believe we can easily make the text bigger and also darker no problem, I can work on this this evening. As for the customization option per user this isn't planned until we switch over to the new software version of IPB (which is just around the corner) primarily because it's easier to code all at once. But if we can get everyone here to post all of their issues and feedback I'll create a bullet point list and work on it with the team so we can make some adjustments. @Comp can you screenshot the highlight issue you're talking about?
  6. Damn what a loss I think all of us remember these books pretty fondly.
  7. Sorry it took so long to get back on this (the support system is always faster than the forum when it comes to webmasters related issue) You should now be able to change your username. There was a permission issue that needed to be fixed for VIP members. If you're still having issues, feel free to contact us using the contact tab and I'll take another look at your account
  8. I think the members took care of this well enough, no need to lock.
  9. These changes likely won't be done by the time you wake up I'm sorry to say. Rather than half *** the change I'm forward all these sketches over to the design guys at my web dev company we also have a 3rd party guy that does some great work (fingers crossed) I'm hoping we can have him make the template forward compatible with the new IPB software update coming down the tube. That will allow us to keep the next design for the next 1-2 years
  10. Hey Guys, Here is a quick sketch I sent off to our designer. The colors aren't exact and this is a rough draw but the forum would essentially match the front end of the site exactly. There's also an "up to top" button on each post that will zoom you back up to the "new content" button
  11. ok well I appreciate the feedback from everyone! The focus seems to be on keep the new content button easy to find and use, side menu most are neutral and the most important thing is a light background with dark text without being too white. One thing I'd like to work on is changing the forum names slightly, they won't move, will just become a bit easier to understand. There are a few sub forums here that have a high bounce rate. This generally means newcomers are hitting that area and simply don't understand what it is they're looking at. So we need to simplify things down a bit further. At any rate, thanks to everyone for their feedback, if you have more, speak now or forever hold your peace as I'll start working on changes by this evening
  12. This is a great suggestion and in fact we'll do you one better. We have a major update rolling out in about a month or two. Once we're done the forum will load on the fly (no page load) the new content link is easier to access and will actually load up new posts etc without so much as a page refresh which is nice. (We have a small test board running) Does anyone else have any comment on the side bar menu vs top menu?
  13. Here are the actual post areas as you can see, not too dark with the light background
  14. Yes it would without a doubt be carried on both sides. (To keep things consistent) Not to many sites have side menus (except perhaps Amazon I suppose, usually it's product based sites) For us our goal is to feed forum traffic into the store just as much as into the forum. Without store sales, the forum would cease to exist after all so we're trying to keep a balance without forcing anyone's hand too much I'd have to get quite a bit more feedback from members before pulling the trigger on a change like this though. I will say, the interface is really nice!
  15. Well I'm glad we have feedback coming back on the white background! I'm actually surprised how many favor it (I do as well personally) It's interesting how we can have some contrasting views. What are your thoughts on a global sidebar menu? (This would be reflected in the store as well) It was an idea that came up we were slightly unsure about (though it is aesthetically pleasing)
  16. Actually if you just hit the forum link up top (same on the other theme as well) instead of home you'll hit the forum home page
  17. Hi Folks, So we changed the forum design a couple of weeks ago and it went over...meh. That's ok! I've come for some more feedback. This particular design now is pretty well favored and has been for some time. But I'd like to get some feedback from the members, all of you, this is your forum. What, if anything, do you not like about the current design? When we switched over, I think the biggest complaint was how "white" it was which can strain your eyes over time. (Not as much of an issue for mobile users) but something I completely understand. Our goal was to try and match the forum to the new front end (vaportalk.com) store/blog/. So I'm thinking perhaps we can come up with a happy medium, we match the forum to the front end design but perhaps the actual post areas themselves are darker? Maybe even a hybrid format? A penny for your thoughts and feedback Edit: To give an example of what I mean, what about something like this? A design like this would match our front end while still having the darker text areas so often requested. EDIT 2: So the dark background with light text as mostly been a "no go" in favor of light background darker text. Thoughts on a global side bar menu? this would be reflected on both the store and the forum naturally
  18. We actually use this thread to see what we need order in the VT store lol I think it's the longest thread on the forum
  19. Thank you! I'm glad you liked the newer skin, I liked it too but it wasn't favored much Looks like the social media links need updated on the new skin, I'll update this now. Thanks!
  20. Yup that is correct. The device simply uses two dual coils inside the tank
  21. Thanks! You guys are making me blush As far as forum software goes I agree, IPB is hands down the best. We've tweaked it quite a bit over the years but I don't think I'd ever make a switch. Way back when it used to be run on PHPBB3 (eh) but as it grew I quickly changed platforms. IPB 4.0 is due to be released pretty soon (they're on public beta right now) but given the amount of custom hooks etc we have we'll need to wait for a stable version before making the jump
  22. Just an FYI for everyone this issue has been fixed and resolved. You can now clear posts by sub forum as usual
