Honestly when it starts to taste "off" or not fresh, it's time to change. This varies from person to person but for me personally it's every 5 days give or take

Any 'drone' owners here?

This is controlled by TapaTalk. Their software hasn't caught up to the update yet. (Nothing that we can control) However I spoke to the devs and they have another update due to roll out, once it's out I'll apply it and hopefully it'll restore anything that seems to be missing. -
It's always great when you come across a new user and pull out an upgrade device. It's like a whole new world is opened for them (and you know likely they'll never go back to cigarettes which is even better)
-
I always smile when someone says which one is better for your health. The answer is probably neither. I've tried direct hitting (lung inhale) and it's just so darn harsh. I prefer pulling the vapor into mouth, inhale then exhale.
-
Yup, once upon a time we used to have "pen ecigs" which were these horrible little things that lasted all of about 2 days before the atomizer needed changed. I was vaping 24mg and it was barely enough. Back then we had 36mg bottles too. Since then ecigs have become extremly efficient (and much more reliable) and the heat tends to aid with the absorption much better.

Three days is more than enough in my opinion to keep them fresh and in good order
-
No bueno. This is why I change my coils out whenever possible.
-
Ah I see I was just curious And I wouldn't worry about it too much. While regulation is sure to come down the pipeline, I don't think it will be a massive blanket ban, not yet anyway. (even still, like anything, if you're a mixer or looking for something, where there's a will there's a way)
-
Do you mix your own?

This is it in a nutshell. VG to me feels like you're inhaling thick steam. While PG you can really feel the hit on the back of your throat, not dissimilar to cigarettes. When I use VG I feel like I have to puff puff puff to really get anywhere. Then I end up with a headache from vaping too much. While PG gives me that kick I just enjoy.
-
Bebop makes some good points. Juice quality is another big factor. Another thing is that in my experience anyway, VG tends to kill my coils faster than PG. (I've always been a PG guy going against the grain) But like Bebop said, there is no science to it, you can generally tell when the coil is starting to go down hill. I sort of compare it to those last few hits on a cigarette (you know where it gets really hot) you just sorta know at that point the cigarette is done.

I don't think there is any evidence to back up that claim (at least that I'm aware of) but I would agree it's probably not a good idea to keep an old coil going longer than it needs to. I notice quickly when a coil is starting to get old and it just tastes "off" that's enough for me personally to ditch it. They are cheap enough these days it's not worth it IMO to keep them around longer. While this is going to be subjective, I generally change my kanger coils out every 6-7 days give or take. Of course if you're vaping at a higher voltage or vape more than I do, it could be sooner or longer. I can say that I've seen close ups of older coils and it does look pretty nasty. There is a lot buildup that occurs and I don't think reburning and inhaling it's a good idea.

We sell the 30 watt units in the store and they fly off the shelves. The VT retail store gets a batch in on Monday and they're usually gone by Thursday. They're built well as we've probably only RMA'd a single unit EDIT: Cancel that, I read your title incorrectly. I was thinking of the iStick, so many boxes these days!

smoke alarm vs e-cigarettes... article 5-1-15
Christopher replied to HOOKER's topic in General Vape News
I've set off the smoke alarm...a few times. The most recent was at a hotel. They had a smoke detector right above the bed. I had a few people in my room and we were all vaping, completely forgot about the alarm and set it off. It was a smaller hotel and other than a stern warning didn't face any major issues. -
Bump when you Swap/Trade something...
Christopher replied to HOOKER's topic in General Vaping Discussion
You rang? I'd like to get some feedback from the members before creating a new section. Why not just post in the classifieds section with the bracket title [trade] ? Example in the classifieds section we have [buy] Looking to buy xyz [sell] looking to sell xyz [trade] and son on... Thoughts? -

I picked up a couple of 500gb Samsung 850's. They've come down in price a lot over the last year or two it's incredible. We have a store out here called Fry's which started price matching Amazon. So I hopped my *** down there for a good deal It's amazing how much of a speed boost you gain of them. I already have a pretty beefy system as it is but the SSD's really sped up my startup time. Though my biggest gripe was data transfer. It's not unusual for me to move around 80-100GB worth of data and I got tired of the transfer times. Right now I'm running two internal 500GB SSD's and on the outside you can see the hot swap bays. Those are hold a couple of 1TB hybrid drives. (Nothing fancy) and I've got two more in the locked drawer that are in cases. (Gotta keep backups of the backups) And yup gotta have the APC! It's saved my *** a few times. (I've got a pretty green system and I can pull about 30 minutes off that box alone) -

Well I'll be darn. Let me be the first to apologize. I went on my phone and said "Fine I'll take a screenshot and show them how to post a picture" and....there isn't anywhere to post a picture. Why it's taken this long for me to realize... is embarrassing. In fact I could have sworn I added an attachment link. A good part of this reason though is that when this software was released mobile was being used but not as wide spread as it is now. This is especially true since the tablet boom. Even my 80 year old neighbor is rocking skype and a gmail account. For example TapaTalk was released because at one point (before iOS 6) you couldn't upload to any website via iPhone. (That's no longer the case) While the SKIN/ THEME of this forum is fairly modern and up to date (especially for desktop users) the core is a little old. (Though it's solid. We very rarely have down time on the forum) It wasn't too long ago where our desktop user base was 80% now it's less than 40%. So we're starting to put a lot of focus on mobile we just haven't rolled out the changes for the forum just yet. (We store and front end now have a great mobile site) At any rate we're testing the newest version of Vapor Talk on a test server (even the staff haven't had a chance to play with it yet) and the mobile site is MUCH much better and easier to use. In fact it's full featured. Basically the site scales itself down rather than running a mobile platform separately. This means that any feature you find on the desktop version of the forum, you'll find on the mobile. (Including picture uploads) We're done updating the core files on the server and you'll likely see a major overhaul on the forum here pretty soon. (We're working on the back end as I type actually) So hang tight! I promise the changes are almost here
-
Is it the forum or are you using TapaTalk? If you're using Tapatalk then it's a 3rd party app that's the problem. If you're using our mobile site then it should be pretty straight forward.

Hey Folks, We have a number of customers who might not be aware they have usable points in the Vapor Talk store. (If you feel your missing points open a support ticket and we'll get you all squared away) Here's a quick breakdown on how the points system works: Earn 5 points for every $1 spent Bonus 250 points for new customers Earn 10 points for every written product review (Leave a comment/review on any product in the store and you'll receive 10 points) Redeem 50 points = 1 spendable dollar in the store
