  1. Interesting. Thanks for the link. Any ball park quotes?
  2. Sorry didn't mean to come off hard I agree E Liquid does need to be tested. The problem is when it comes down to individual supplier testing. (Some tests can run upwards of 70k a batch) It would be nice to see the FDA work with the major E Liquid factories in China. This could solve the problem right off the bat. I've spoken to representatives from the factories in China who would be willing to work with the FDA if they'd be willing to work with them. However I don't see that happening any time soon.
  3. Never once has lead been found in E Liquid. In fact the when the FDA tested E Liquid months back even THEY didn't even find lead. So why create a scare where no scare is needed? Lead tainted products are usually found where paint is found. This is because years ago the United States exported all of their lead issued paint to China. At no point does paint ever come in contact with E Liquid. Not to mention you can pick up lead testing kits from Amazon for under 50 bucks for self assurance. (Although we don't advertise it we test all of our products for lead) Throwing something out there like that just scares off, would be vapers. You have to understand that most of this "American Made" E liquid is actually American MIXED. Suppliers purchase un flavored high level nic bottles from China and then mix in flavors into it here in the states. The irony behind it is classic. While not all suppliers do it this way, many do. (PS and JC created their own liquid from scratch)
  4. The last thing we need is home brewed nicotine. I'd take liquid from China any day over someone mixing it in their kitchen. This is exactly why the FDA wants regulation. The ecig industry is all over the place.
  5. Here is another story that made it to the front page of Google's Health section http://www.medpagetoday.com/PublicHealthPolicy/FDAGeneral/22103
  6. I agree 100%. In fact this is what we did with many of the state ban. It helped with the California ban immensely.
  7. I'll wait for this to calm down, everyone is just posting. Here are my points: Yea I'm surprised. Well not completely surprised but I thought they where working with the FDA. Although this could be a good time for them to really hold hands and figure out what needs to be done to make this work. At least they're trying. That's correct it's up to each company to perform the study. It depends on what the FDA is looking for. If they are looking for long term effects, that could take a very long time. If they're looking for short term, then a company with the right amount of money should be able to get this done. I think this would only be an option if an American company was willing to back them. I'd imagine some type of QC team would have to be sent to the factory to ensure everything was kosher. Depends. If they can resell the liquid that a bigger company has had approved then sure. I suppose if the factories worked with the FDA this might be a possibility but again it's up to the factory in China. I have a feeling smaller suppliers would be limited to hardware. I'm not 100% sure to be honest. I picked up the information from ECF: Here.
  8. No not at all actually. In fact since the release of the story we've had one order come in. (This may be different for other suppliers) Trust me, it's not us paying off the FDA
  9. Not hard to find Jeff. It's right here on the FDA's website: http://www.fda.gov/NewsEvents/Newsroom/PressAnnouncements/ucm225224.htm On that note watch your language please.
  10. I just want to make it clear to everyone that I'm all for regulation and improved safety of electronic cigarettes (of course) My worry is about a ban or handing over the technology to the same people that have been killing us for years. Judging by the articles here it sounds like the FDA may be changing their stance on things, but the lawsuit isn't over and my products are still getting seized at the boarder. So while they may appear to only be going after suppliers making false health claims and adding ED drugs into their liquid that isn't the case. We don't make any health claims in our store, in fact we where one of the FIRST American suppliers to add warning labels, yet monthly our products are taken by the FDA. Last time I checked my hardware didn't contain any E Liquid.
  11. @Three_Sixteen. I agree if they are only going after companies adding weird crap their E Liquid then they had it coming. But if they start going after regular E Liquid (remember the FDA is also going after PG/Nicotine mixes as well) Then it's a matter of time before the letters start trickling down to everyone else. I HOPE this isn't the case but let's hope for the best.
  12. That may be the case but I have a feeling this is big tobacco. I mean what are the chances that Phillip Morris would be doing clinical trials ON THE SAME day that this comes out? Sure perhaps in a couple of years an approved electronic cigarette will be released, but I can tell you right now I'm not buying it from Phillip Morris.
  13. Looks like someone just nailed it on the head. I just got this in from Rob at Altsmoke.
  14. Well it looks like they might not be going after companies that sell none nicotine, at least not yet. Perhaps that's the future, no nicotine in your E Liquid. I'm still getting information in from other suppliers but I'll be sure to keep everyone updated on anything new. Looks like the FDA is really starting to flex their muscle.
  15. Just in. The FDA is starting to send cease and desist letters to suppliers informing them they are breaking federal law. This is an important article that needs to be read. This is what we've all been expecting. This is NOT good news. From the Food and Drug Administrations website: http://www.fda.gov/NewsEvents/PublicHealthFocus/ucm172906.htm Also http://www.reuters.com/article/idUSTRE6893B720100910 http://abclocal.go.com/kabc/story?section=news/health/your_health&id=7659273
  16. The best way to tell is by looking at the cartomizer. It should look like a "slurpy" and not a pool of liquid. If in doubt, take a paper towel and place it over the cartomizer, take a big drag and any excess will end up on the paper towel.
  17. Article: http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/200398.php Interesting article. Basically the FDA is calling out 2 major companies for labeling their popular Green Tea drink brands (Lipton is one) inappropriately. Lipton is claiming an abundance of health benefits to drinking Green Tea. Apparently Lipton's ice cold Green tea is so low in antioxidants it's a joke. Hey, big surprise. What really caught my attention is the fact that the FDA states Lipton Green is a new drug as it claims (with the drinking benefits of Green Tea) that it can lower cholesterol. Can you believe that crap? The FDA considers Green Tea a new drug?! Un freakin believable. I think someone has flown far from the coo coo nest. These guys have lost their way and I honestly think they need to be shut down.
  18. One of the few factories that really push quality control is Joye Tech. Hence the reason that most well known supplier carry them. While SLB isn't bad (Bauway is horrible) Joye Tech IMO is the only way to go. Not really worth saving money for an atomizer that is going to need replaced in a week or two.
  19. Do not plug the battery back into the charger. Does this happen only with one battery or both? The reason I ask is this will help narrow down whether or not it's an issue with the charger or with the battery. Either way it sounds like something needs to be replaced.
  20. Not usually no. This normally happens with either Menthol e Liquid or when using a larger atomizer such as an 801/302
  21. Yea I saw that thread they also where not happy with the ceramic cartomizers. Thanks for taking one for the team!
  22. Yup you can use the classified section of the forum
  23. Yes it does get quite hot over time and it's really not worth risking burning anything inside your cart. Cartridges are pretty cheap and last quite some time. You'd be better of just buying new carts. Many members over the year or two have tried different things in carts and none seem to work that well. Remember direct dripping is also another great option
