  1. shooooooot just read the daily newspaper sometime. I swear they've no spellcheck. LOL
  2. . . . I made it 30 seconds. That's a LONG time for me ya know!!
  3. This is also true. However so far, an employer does not HAVE to provide health insurance. Generally with health insurance and life insurance you can be made to pay a higher rate if you are a higher risk. Such as being a smoker or whatever. My point wasn't that the employer should have no options, it was that what he is allowed to do is because we let them. The individual is independent, but not very powerful. The unions have too much power and very little concern for the worker, and the employer, usually, is just trying to run his business and maybe manage to make a profit. I don't think that a businessman making a profit is a bad thing, it's getting harder and harder to do LOL. Anyway....I have one of them OPINIONS..... hehe just like everyone else. Besides, I'm an ornery old woman, I bet you noticed LOL
  4. Yep......so why even mention preventing minors from purchasing? I mean if the product is BANNED... just how wud a minor buy it?
  5. Yes, it's amazing. I quite understand not wanting to hire someone who is going to come to work higher than a kite and not do a good job, or if they're operating dangerous equipment could actually harm OTHERS, but yeah they are going crazy. Because they are allowed to. You shouldn't be able to tell someone they can't smoke at home or have a beer after work, but sure seems to be getting that way.
  6. Mythbusters did an episode on just that. They found it 100% true. If you let the vehicle get down far enuff you can open the windows or the door, but generally you've panicked and used up your oxygen by that point. The things designed to break car windows in such situations DO work, they tested that too. So you either have to calmly let the pressure equalize so you can open the door, or have something to break the window with. Their tests were in a swimming pool, and in panic mode he still ran out of ear before the pressure equalization. He had a diver in there with there feeding him oxygen after that point, but us normal folks wouldn't. But if the windows are open, as seems to be the case most of the time with Uma, then the pressure equalizes fast and you can go out the window or even open the door and get out.
  7. Adore rants! I have my very own soapbox too. LOL Yes, most employment is "At Will" employment. Either party can end the employment at any time. The boss can say...all done. For any reason and no reason, and so can the employee. Contracted employment is different, but it's different on BOTH sides. If you leave before the contact ends there are consequences (fines or whatever).
  8. I've noticed that too... vaping away and button flashy done. I'm like whoa... duuuuuuuuuude. LOL I think it does lose a LITTLE power or something toward the end, but not enough that I notice. So I'm still loving my Ego. I'm a menthol smoker too, so I know what you mean. Did you notice that when you DO have one of those 3 cigs a day (I'm still at that too, I'm stubborn or something lol) that you get lightheaded? At first I thought it was a nicotine rush, but it happens in the morning too. That first ciggy i just don't wanna give up. So that's gotta actually be something else, specially since I only make it to about HALF a cig. That's oxygen loss plain and simple I think. (course I'm only guessing)
  9. Spose that's better than. . . Joe, you are pregnant.
  10. wooooooohooooooo! wtg! Nothing like adding reply to the wrong post ROFL WTG PUR! Just slap me, it been a loooooong day LOL
  11. WELCOME! That's not a bad idea, a glossary.
  12. Neccessity IS the mother of invention, jury rigs and bathrooms.
  13. "put state regulations in place since the FDA is not regulating the nicotine as a medical product and restricting access as it does to other smoking cessation products." I guess that particular state? Because back when I tried the patch I got it off a shelf in Walmart in Michigan. Facebook is used by all ages. You can hardly say that because an ad is on Facebook it's targeting teens. Of COURSE the teens think so, they've been told it over and over and over. They are the center of the universe, after all. Wait wait.. that's a whole nother rant too. I have too many rants in my head huh? LOL Just put the dang things behind the counter and require the same process as you use to buy cigarettes. VOILA problem solved. At least as solved as it ever got with cigarettes. They did that with pseudoephedrine. The one antihistimine that works for me and I have to sign my life away to buy it. But supposedly it is keeping it from being used in meth labs. Not my culture there so I don't know whether it works. But at least I can get it when it is necessary, it's just not as convenient as the usual cold medicines and all. No problem.
  14. It's not just the FDA, the politicians think we are stupid. And some people are. Otherwise who would have thought you'd have to put LABELS on balloons? Who thought that babies should play with balloons and plastic bags ... I don't know. Someone must have. So now the assumption is that we are ALL blooming idiots and we must be protected from ourselves. The fact that it rips liberties away left and right, that's just a BONUS to them. My mother didn't have to have childproof caps and locks on the cabinet doors, she taught us NO TOUCH. I had locks on the cabinet doors, AND taught mine NO TOUCH. My son figured out the locks by the time he was walking. They were toooo interesting. But the NO TOUCH worked. So did time out and supervision. ...but that's another rant altogether. LMAO
  15. Totally done that. BTW the vaporizer does NOT write, and the pen tastes awful. Whodda thunk it? Maybe we could just get them to make different color covers? that wud be sweet. )
  16. Sounds wonderful!!!! The title though, the title had me thinking Dr. Seuss... you know. . . Can I vape on a boat. Should I vape in my coat? Perhaps I could vape near a goat. You see? I should NOT be up this early.
  17. Well at least they just wanna keep them from KIDS....which is a GOOD thang. Good mornin ya'll by the way
  18. I know exactly what you mean. I have absolutely nothing against making sure these things are as safe as can be. And doing all that we can to keep them out of the hands of kids, and all the rest. The fear is that once they ban them, because they DO threaten big tobacco, we'll never see them again.
  19. Well they gave all the advice already so I'm just gonna say WELCOME.....glad you're here!
  20. I agree. But banning them because they haven't been studied, which is what they tried to do, is a horrible idea if you ask me. So my vote would be to hold em off til some studies get done - real studies, and published BEFORE the FDA gets to decide anything. And maybe stack up their results against the patch and gum.
  21. Oh yeah totally hate colds LOL. But maybe we will get normal colds now, instead of the cold, bronchitis... verging on pneumonia crap. One can hope!
  22. Yes indeed!. Today I had halfa cig. Guess what, they still taste awful. LOL So I think I'm right, few days more and I won't even think about them. I'm vaping an AWFUL lot.... but I don't want to go back up to 36. I was only on it cuz I was outta 24 LOL. But I still have some so I'll try it if I'm still vaping my eyes out tomorrow hehe. Keep smiling but PLEASE don't eat the Daisies. The tulips will be jealous. Or..... something
  23. Well I've heard tell of some women. . . . Slapping self and running off
