It's no wonder why the FDA doesn't want this to come to light.
Think of all the prescriptions that vaping replaces.

This is another excellent read courtesy of Joe2003 .. thanks again Joe
Robert A. Hall is the actor who plays the coroner on CSI if you watch that show. He also is a Marine Vietnam War veteran.
This should be required reading for every man, woman and child in the United States of America .
"I'm 63 and I'm Tired"
by Robert A. Hall
I'm 63. Except for one semester in college when jobs were scarce and a six-month period when I was between jobs, but job-hunting every day, I've worked hard since I was 18. Despite some health challenges, I still put in 50-hour weeks, and haven't called in sick in seven or eight years. I make a good salary, but I didn't inherit my job or my income, and I worked to get where I am. Given the economy, there's no retirement in sight, and I'm tired. Very tired.
I'm tired of being told that I have to "spread the wealth" to people who don't have my work ethic. I'm tired of being told the government will take the money I earned, by force if necessary, and give it to people too lazy to earn it.
I'm tired of being told that I have to pay more taxes to "keep people in their homes." Sure, if they lost their jobs or got sick, I'm willing to help. But if they bought McMansions at three times the price of our paid-off, $250,000 condo, on one-third of my salary, then let the left-wing Congress-critters who passed Fannie and Freddie and the Community Reinvestment Act that created the bubble help them with their own money.
I'm tired of being told how bad America is by left-wing millionaires like Michael Moore, George Soros and Hollywood Entertainers who live in luxury because of the opportunities America offers. In thirty years, if they get their way, the United States will have the economy of Zimbabwe, the freedom of the press of China, the crime and violence of Mexico, the tolerance for Christian people of Iran, and the freedom of speech of Venezuela ....
I'm tired of being told that Islam is a "Religion of Peace," when every day I can read dozens of stories of Muslim men killing their sisters, wives and daughters for their family "honor"; of Muslims rioting over some slight offense; of Muslims murdering Christian and Jews because they aren't "believers"; of Muslims burning schools for girls; of Muslims stoning teenage rape victims to death for "adultery"; of Muslims mutilating the genitals of little girls; all in the name of Allah, because the Qur'an and Shari'a law tells them to.
I'm tired of being told that "race doesn't matter" in the post-racial world of Obama, when it's all that matters in affirmative action jobs, lower college admission and graduation standards for minorities (harming them the most), government contract set-asides, tolerance for the ghetto culture of violence and fatherless children that hurts minorities more than anyone, and in the appointment of U.S. Senators from Illinois.
I think it's very cool that we have a black president and that a black child is doing her homework at the desk where Lincoln wrote the Emancipation Proclamation. I just wish the black president was Condi Rice, or someone who believes more in freedom and the individual and less arrogantly of an all-knowing government. Like Bill Cosby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He's fabulous and everything he says makes sense! Why doesn't someone convince HIM to run!
I'm tired of being told that out of "tolerance for other cultures" we must let Saudi Arabia use our oil money to fund mosques and mandrassa Islamic schools to preach hate in America , while no American group is allowed to fund a church, synagogue or religious school in Saudi Arabia to teach love and tolerance.
I'm tired of being told I must lower my living standard to fight global warming, which no one is allowed to debate. My wife and I live in a two-bedroom apartment and carpool together five miles to our jobs. We also own a three-bedroom condo where our daughter and granddaughter live. Our carbon footprint is about 5% of Al Gore's, and if you're greener than Gore, you're green enough.
I'm tired of being told that drug addicts have a disease, and I must help support and treat them, and pay for the damage they do. Did a giant germ rush out of a dark alley, grab them, and stuff white powder up their noses while they tried to fight it off? I don't think *** people choose to be ***, but I #@*# sure think druggies chose to take drugs. And I'm tired of harassment from cool people treating me like a freak when I tell them I never tried marijuana.
I'm tired of illegal aliens being called "undocumented workers," especially the ones who aren't working, but are living on welfare or crime. What's next? Calling drug dealers, "Undocumented Pharmacists"? And, no, I'm not against Hispanics. Most of them are Catholic, and it's been a few hundred years since Catholics wanted to kill me for my religion. I'm willing to fast track for citizenship any Hispanic person, who can speak English, doesn't have a criminal record and who is self-supporting without family on welfare, or who serves honorably for three years in our military.... Those are the citizens we need.
I'm tired of latte liberals and journalists, who would never wear the uniform of the Republic themselves, or let their entitlement-handicapped kids near a recruiting station, trashing our military. They and their kids can sit at home, never having to make split-second decisions under life and death circumstances, and bad mouth better people than themselves. Do bad things happen in war? You bet. Do our troops sometimes misbehave? Sure. Does this compare with the atrocities that were the policy of our enemies for the last fifty years and still are? Not even close. So here's the deal. I'll let myself be subjected to all the humiliation and abuse that was heaped on terrorists at Abu Ghraib or Gitmo, and the critics can let themselves be subject to captivity by the Muslims, who tortured and beheaded Daniel Pearl in Pakistan, or the Muslims who tortured and murdered Marine Lt. Col. William Higgins in Lebanon, or the Muslims who ran the blood-spattered Al Qaeda torture rooms our troops found in Iraq, or the Muslims who cut off the heads of schoolgirls in Indonesia, because the girls were Christian. Then we'll compare notes. British and American soldiers are the only troops in history that civilians came to for help and handouts, instead of hiding from in fear.
I'm tired of people telling me that their party has a corner on virtue and the other party has a corner on corruption. Read the papers; bums are bipartisan. And I'm tired of people telling me we need bipartisanship. Thinking people know what they believe in and don't change their deeply held beliefs just to be bipartisan. I live in Illinois, where the "Illinois Combine" of Democrats has worked to loot the public for years. Not to mention the tax cheats in Obama's cabinet.
I'm tired of hearing wealthy athletes, entertainers and politicians of both parties talking about innocent mistakes, stupid mistakes or youthful mistakes, when we all know they think their only mistake was getting caught. I'm tired of people with a sense of entitlement, rich or poor.
Speaking of poor, I'm tired of hearing people with air-conditioned homes, color TVs and two cars called poor. The majority of Americans didn't have that in 1970, but we didn't know we were "poor." The poverty pimps have to keep changing the definition of poor to keep the dollars flowing.
I'm real tired of people who don't take responsibility for their lives and actions. I'm tired of hearing them blame the government, or discrimination or big-whatever for their problems.
Yes, I'm tired. But I'm also glad to be 63. Because, mostly, I'm not going to have to see the world these people are making. I'm just sorry for my granddaughter.

Phaseman66 reacted to miatafrank in Review Of The Vaprlife Diamante
I recently purchased a Diamante from vaprlife.com. After using it for about a month now, I thought I’d write a review. Since a PV is really just a voltage and current delivery device, I’m really not going to go into anything about vapor production. That aspect always depends on what atomizer/cartomizer you are using, and the use of VG or PG juice. I will split this up into 4 sections, appearance, quality, technology, and performance.
Appearance:
The Diamante is a very clean looking unit, using many of the same parts as the Joker. It uses the same body tube, and battery cap as the joker. The top cap is very similar, but my Joker has a smooth cone shape at the very tip, and the Diamante has slight ridges at the top. The ridges aren’t deep enough to call them a drip well, but do slow stay juice down to avoid running down the side. The main difference between the Joker-AV and the Diamante is in the center section where the voltage is adjusted. The Joker-AV has a simple silver band in the middle, with a hole for the adjustment screw. That same silver section in the center is longer in the Diamante, and has a voltmeter built in, with simple up and down buttons for the adjustment. The Diamante comes in your choice of 4 body colors, your choice of 4 LED colors, and your choice of 510 or 801 fittings.
Quality:
There seems to be 2 camps when it comes to the main button on vaprlife mods. Those who like it just fine, and those who hate it because it’s small, stiff, and “it hurts my finger”. I personally don’t have a problem with it’s comfort, and find it to be a nice quality switch. The ring around the button fits nice and tight around the hole with no gaps. It is typical with vaprlife mods to see a screw on the opposite side of where the switch is, which holds the switch in. They are now putting a nylon plug in the hole where this screw is, which seals the hole and prevents anyone from turning the screw out of curiosity (which could damage the mod). I thought this worth mentioning as an improvement in quality. Beyond that, you can always expect that the pieces fit together smoothly and without gaps, which I find to be typical quality of a vaprlife mod.
Technology:
The important technology behind the Diamante is PWM (Pulse Width Modulation). This is a very efficient method of adjusting output voltage, and allows the unit to exhibit improved battery life. It does this by pulsing the output very quickly, and the duration of the pulses determine the percentage of the total battery voltage applied to the load (the atomizer or cartomizer in this case). The unit has a built in voltmeter, and those who do not have (or don’t know how to use) a multimeter will find this to be a very useful feature. The fully electronic adjustment controls utilize simple up and down buttons, which make it extremely easy to operate (no more jeweler’s screwdriver). I have seen many reviews for adjustable voltage units that say something to the affect that it would not be a good mod for the less experienced. With the simple controls that this unit has, I think that anyone could operate it.
Performance:
The PWM technology really works quite well, but if you have older 16340s that have been cycled many times, you better get a new set. Older batteries that have many charge cycles on them may cause the unit to have less battery life than it should. Get a new set and the battery life between charges will magically lengthen to a full day of vaping. I order my units with an 801 connector, and vaprlife units have a nice airflow adjustment designed into the connector. I don’t know if their 510 connectors have a similar adjustment, but this is an important feature. By adjusting the airflow, you can change the feel of the draw, and since airflow is a factor in vapor production, being able to change it can help customize the overall performance. In most regulated adjustable voltage units, the loaded voltage is typically within 0.1volt of the unloaded voltage. The built in voltmeter does not show this change. I haven’t done any further testing in this area, but I suspect that the built in voltmeter is showing the voltage as a setting and not actual loaded voltage. Since there is very little difference in these values, I doubt that this will affect performance in any way.
In conclusion, I would call this a very impressive unit with a price that makes it very reasonable for such a feature packed little beast.

I didn't read thru even the entire first post in this thread, simply because I had to stop and look in shock and awe at one particular comment. You said you think that the FDA cares about us and is in this fight for the health of the people... This is complete BS. I'm not calling you out, suggesting that you're dumb or anything at all like that. But they certainly do not care about us. If they did, there is no conceivable reason for them to do what they've been doing(seizing shipments, spreading all kinds of lies and BS about e-cigs being dangerous or potentially dangerous). We KNOW for a fact that cigarettes are TERRIBLE for us, yet the FDA allows them to be sold. Meanwhile, here comes a much safer alternative, and what do they do? They say that because they haven't been proven completely safe(wtf is 100% safe anyway?), that they should be pulled from the market until they can be proven completely safe, despite the fact that cigarettes, in contrast, have been proven 100% NOT safe, yet they're allowed to be there. This is all about money and complaints from either the tobacco industry, the pharmaceutical industry, doctors who get kickbacks, or a combination of all three.
These are NOT marketed to kids. These are NOT nicotine-cessation devices. Despite the common belief that apparently adults don't like or deserve candy, THEY DO. These are also not drug delivery devices. What about 0 nic juice? And even WITH nicotine in the juice, if this is a drug delivery device, then so are cigarettes. So is a coffee mug. So is an aluminum can. We can be ridiculous about this and start calling everything that aids you in the ingestion, inhalation, or absorption of ANYTHING a drug delivery device, or we can just end the madness and give smokers a much healthier alternative to smoking that still allows them to get the nicotine they crave. It also allows them the option to actually quit because it addresses the hand-to-mouth action, it addresses the "smoke" aspect, and it provides lower levels of nicotine and even 0 nicotine juices. There are cigarettes with lower nicotine(or at least that's what I THINK "lights," which we can't call them anymore are), but there aren't any with ZERO nicotine. And now thanks to new legislature, if one were to try smoking lower nicotine cigarettes, it's much more confusing because we can't call them lights or mediums or whatever anymore. Gums, patches, and pills have a horrible success rate. Only the e-cigarette has a success rate higher than 20%(which is probably being incredibly generous to other methods of quitting), and it wasn't even intended as an aid for quitting. That's saying something. That's powerful. THAT is why all this crap is going on, because it is so great. The FDA sees this. The FDA knows this. Doctors know this. The pharmaceutical industry knows this, and so does big tobacco. The government wants e-cigs gone because they're losing tax money. The Pharmaceutical industry wants e-cigs gone because they're competition to the gums, patches, and pills that don't work. Big tobacco wants e-cigs gone because they're competition to cigarettes, and (some)doctors want e-cigs gone because it prevents them from getting as many dr. visits, prescribing as many drugs, and in turn, getting as many kickbacks. Basically, for every person that wants e-cigs gone, they have a financial interest in their removal from the market. It's THAT simple.
And every single thing I ever hear about the FDA points to the fact that they absolutely ARE NOT for our benefit. They don't want us to be healthy. Keeping us unhealthy is what keeps their wallets full. Same goes for doctors and pharmaceutical and insurance companies.

Phaseman66 reacted to Christopher in Why We Choose To Vape....
This is probably one of the best and most interesting posts I've read so far on the forums. I have to say I agree with not only your concerns but your point of view as well. The bottom line is, nicotine is a vice pure and simple much like alcohol and caffeine. The good lord never intend that we ingest these toxins however in one way or another we have been introcuded to nicotine and over the years have become sadly Dependant. Essentially the electronic cigarette is a pacifier (or a dummy if your in the UK) for adults, it is what we use to help overcome the every day stress called life. I find it to also be a great past time. It's extremely relaxing.
That all aside I can't agree more that safety is our number once concern. It is for many suppliers, at least the good ones anyway. Why do you think Vapor Talk was one of the first liquid suppliers in the United States to add child proof caps? Because there is a very real threat of a child getting a hold of something that looks like apple juice and smells like a grape. Unfortunately there are some real "winner" parents out there and we as suppliers have to protect their children. You said you where concerned that a child may some day get a hold of juice and drink a bottle, guess what, it's already happened. (Yes you heard correct) I won't say where and what supplier was involved because it's not needed but it's happened. As far as we know, the child is fine. Luckily.
Truth be told liquid bottles in loose form will cease to exist should electronic cigarettes stay on the market for the long run. Everyone will end up using cartomizers. 2 piece units. Why? Because it's a way to not only control the nicotine levels, but it's sealed thus preventing the cotton from falling out, which of course could be eaten by a dog, cat or child.
Quality control is another major issue that is being worked on continuously. Is PG safe to vape? Let's be honest with ourselves we are on the front line of this new invention, although PG is general recognized as safe by the FDA and is used in many products such as baby wipes, vitamins etc it's never been tested in long term vapor form inhaled by humans. Granted there was a study done on monkeys for over a year, which concluded positive effects, but we really don't know the VERY long term effects. Essentially only time will tell. The general common sense assumption is, traditional tobacco is so bad that you could probably smoke tea leaves and still be better off than smoking tobacco leaves.
I think overall this product is a real step forward in helping dependent cigarette users leave traditional tobacco. Leaving nicotine however is not the ecigs best trait. The original designer of the electronic cigarette (who was inspired after his father died of lung cancer) wanted people to quite smoking with the ecig, however the units worked SO well that people instead, just replaced the delivery form. He never intended persons to use PG over a long period of time. Right now it's up to the user to have the self control to step down. Lucky this is happening more and more often, in fact ex smokers now known as vapers are starting to become more health conscious than they ever where before.
We are still in the early phases and so long as we can get the support of government agencys and watch groups we can perfect the electronic cigarette into a true NRT. Something it isn't now. Many people on the board state "I don't want to stop vaping" to me that's the nicotine talking. I think if we could make it as easy to quite as it already is to switch delivery, we could really see some massive health improvements in society. Something I one day hope we altogether can witness.
Anyway I'm getting off course here, awesome post and some very valid points.

Phaseman66 reacted to Speakeasy in Why We Choose To Vape....
Hello to all you vapers out there....
I'm a nurse who has been smoking for WAY too long. And for quite some time now I've been looking to quit smoking. It's gonna kill me if I don't.
But I have to admit that nothin' beats a smoke after a stressful day at work. And a cigarette would sure come in handy during a long, boring flight or a road trip.
Like a number of people here, I've tried several different ways to quit, and found one thing in common with all of the most popular quiting aides on the market today. The patch, the gum, inhalers, and Chantix are all forms of "nicotine replacement therapy". Doctors, pharmacuetical companies, and even the FDA agree that the best way to quit the smoking habit is to breifly replace our means of consuming nicotine, and then slowly reduce our dependency until we have effectly weaned our bodies from it. These different forms of "nicotine replacement" are much safer for us than smoking tobacco. The patch is a transdermal system of delivering nicotine through the skin. The gum is a way of comsuming nicotine orally. And although Chantix does not contain nicotine, it does contain chemicals that affect our brains in the same way in oder to trick the brain into thinking that its still getting nicotine.
The FDA is focused on stopping the terrible effects of tobacco use in our country. And the organization is determined to do whatever it takes to stop the deadly spread of it's use among our young people, as well. Thats a good thing! I'm glad that they are concerned for the safety and health of our population. For decades, the FDA has regulated manufactures and industries in order to keep us safe. I would hate to think of where we would be without the FDA. I certainly don't want my new grand child growing up to use tobacco.
The question is, do we really need another "nicotine replacement therapy"? Aren't the products on the american market today enough? Why should we endorse another means of nicotine addiction? That is what I think the FDA is trying to say to vapers. By using this product, that hasn't been studied by the FDA, are we improving our health? Or are we causing more problems for ourselves? Is it helping us to quit using tobacco? Or are we just switching our means of consumption? And by using these products, are we saying to our young people that smoking is finally safe? Will these products cause our young people to one day use tobacco in order to consume nicotine?
Let us look at the quit smoking aides we have in place right now that are approved by the FDA. These therapys have all been tested in laboratories over several years. They have all been proven to help the smoker control his/her cravings for nicotine in the hopes that the individual's willpower can keep them from using tobacco. All of these therapys have a way of delivering a safe amout of nicotine without the possiblity of overdose, if taken as prescribed. These therapys, while effectively controling nicotine addiction, have not addressed the other habit forming behaviors of smoking tobacco. They do not do anything for the feeling I get while driving to work. The behavioral need I have to do something with my hands. Almost every person who smokes will testify that there is a certain ceremony involved with smoking tobacco. A calming and relaxing feeling that acompanys the act of smoking. Tests show that smokers tend to have a higher level of concentration while smoking. And the act also has the ability to divert our attention in times of stress. I know that nothing calms me down better than a smoke break during stressful days at work. Some people might say that it's the nicotine that you need to calm your nerves, but I don't hear too many people say, "Man, I could really use some gum right now". There are also reports done by the army that show that cigarettes played a crucial part in WWII and other wars. Many a soldier who didn't smoke before combat came home with a pack of fags in his pocket. Yes, these are all examples of the feeling we get from using nicotine, but those behaviors become ingrained in us over years of smoking and are very difficult to change, even with the use of "NRTs".
After reviewing dozens of personal profiles in this forum, I have noticed one common connection between us all. 100% of the profiles I've looked at claim to be ex-smokers. Very few of us are still using tobacco, and those of us who are, are doing so much less than we used to. Vaping is continuously proving to me to be one of, if not the most effective "nicotine replacement therapys" introduced so far. Certainly the most attractive, anyway. I believe that we are on the precipus of something truly revolutionary. Our actions and our endorsment of this product could save millions of lives. It may very well be bigger than any other human rights issue to date. And I am very excited about it. But it also scares me a little. What we do and how we respond to critisism may effect future generations of americans for years to come.
I understand that the following statements my cause concern for some of our forum citizens and for many of our suppliers of this product, but I can't help but think of how beneficial this product is for quiting tobacco. And, as a responsible person, who cares about the health and safety of our communities, and our children's future, I believe that vaping should be focused on quiting not only the terrible habit of smoking tobacco, but also the weaning of nicotine dependency and the use of any nicotine products all together. The reason you choose to vape is your own. I'm not here to tell anyone that what they're doing is wrong. I believe that if you choose to vape for the rest of your life it would be a HUGE improvement to your health when compaired to tobacco products. But I also feel that nicotine is bad too. And should be considered harmful.
That being said, I feel that vaping is most likely the greatest way to stop the abuse of tobacco. I haven't heard a single report of someone claiming that vaping has caused them more harm than good, to say nothing of the effects of second-hand smoke. I have searched the web and can't find a single instance of any negative affects from vaping. The only concern than I can find, or think of, in reference to any harm caused by vaping is that of the liquid we use to refill our ecigs. Most of the liquid out there contains nicotine. Nicotine is a toxin and a stimulant. It is classified as an alkaloid. It was used as an insecticide, but because it is also extremely poisonous to man and animal in concetrated doses, it was stopped being used in this manner. Who stopped it's use as an insecticide? The FDA. These nicotine liquids can be extremely harmful if taken in large quantities. My greatest fear is that we will soon hear about a toddler who drank eliquid and died from it. Such an instance could cause this movement of ours to be outlawed.
I believe that these eliquids are what the FDA will focus it's attention on, if they haven't already. What manufactures are putting in this liquid is what will become the focus of attention. What is the nicotine content of this liquid and how do the manufactures guard against harmful ingredients? How is it being labeled? Is it being packaged in child-proof containers? These issues I think will cause our vaping communities the most greif as the popularity of this product grows. It's not the 4' tall glass water bong thats so illegal. It's what we put in it. If we encourage our suppliers to step up and help solve some of these potential problems, than we can show the FDA, and the world, that we, as concerned consumers, are not only advocates for vaping, but also aware of it's risks. The auto industry invented the seatbelt for use in cars because we, as consumers, demanded it! And our government listened, eventually making seatbelts and other safety features a requirement. There is nothing wrong with our government making safety requirements nessesary for these products, as well. I just pray that the FDA recognizes the potential this product has in saving lives, too.

Phaseman66 reacted to YayForBeer in Hey!
Just wanted to say Hi to everybody. It's officially been one full year since I bought my first E-Cig. I've stuck with the Joye 510 the whole time, and still dig it. I have my own personal stock now, and buying Vaping supplies is up there with grocery shopping, paying the bills, and walking the dog, lol.
I've since moved on to things like flavored juice, eGo batteries, fancy chargers, etc. I'm not much for modding and such (maybe in year 2) but I've found it almost as much of a hobby as it is a way to save myself from cigarettes.
Now, and I know some of you will want to smack me, I do still smoke analogs at bars that permit, and on occasion while driving to and from work. (Especially after a bad day) But the ECig has offered me one very important thing that I never had before. Freedom. I can have one, and dare I say even enjoy it, and not have another one for a week. It's the freedom from addiction. Sure I need my ECig, but at least I'm not addicted to something that's searing my lungs. However there's a great feeling of triumph in buying a pack, and literally owning it for weeks. My finances have NOTICEABLY increased. It absolutely blew my mind how much money I saved.
I can run up the stairs at work now. I got a new Apartment in October that doesn't allow smoking, and I haven't smoked a single cigarette inside. My clothes, bed, carpets, electronics all smell better. My walls aren't yellow. People at work and in my social life have told me that I don't smell like stale cigarettes anymore. I don't leave my desk to smoke anymore. And one of the best things, it's a great conversation piece! I've even got a few folks at work/friends/family using them now, and it's so good to know they'll be around a little longer because of these great products.
Anyway, I don't hang out and post here nearly as much as I should, but I'm always very busy. But It was the friendliness of this community that made me decide to go forward with vaping, and I just hope that everybody here is still doing great, and vaping it up! Here's to another year (mostly) smoke free!!
Regards,
Yay F. Beer

Phaseman66 reacted to Sharon in Straw Banana Shake Frze (Sweet-Vapes)
Blakeab84, I have to tell you that I find your review of the "other 4 liquids" to be insulting! I know that flavor is subjective, but to say that "they were far from a great tasting liquid and She also found these flavors very horrid" is far from saying that you didn't find them to be flavors that you enjoy.
And then to add more insult, you suggest that the reason maybe due to poor quality control.
"Some of your opinions" you have expressed recently on this forum, I have found to be more of a control issue on your part and I have just brushed them off. Everyone has the freedom of speech! But then you were psycho analyzing another, long standing, member, and I found it very hard to not get involved verbally. Now you have hit a nerve in me that I just can't let go of.
Since you feel comfortable expressing your opinions, with no regard as to how it is going to come across or effect other members, I am sure you will be equally comfortable with me expressing my opinion.
I know that you are interested in doing reviews for vendors, but I don't believe your review of Sweet-Vapes is going to entice other vendors to jump on your bandwagon.

Phaseman66 reacted to junk in You Sent Me Corroded Junk
Ok let me clear this up for all of you because some of you sound more confused and more upset than I was. And I was the one that spent $100 and received a defective product.
First of all, I am not a troll. I did have a troll with pink hair once when I was about 7 years old. Thanks for the compliment but I assure you I am me and not a troll.
Secondly, I did not post my picture here. In fact, I did not even and have not even, viewed the profile information or editing profile info which is usually a standard with most forums.
The reason why my picture appears here is because I own forums and have my picture at various forums and websites. Some forums automatically pull a profile pic from another forum.
I know that is strange but it does even if your user name for the forums are different. I'm not sure how that works but I suppose it some how picks up your ip address and pulls your avatar/pic from other forums.
Thirdly, I was very pleased in regards to the fast shipping. I spent almost $100 for a product as a gift to my ex husband that smokes like a tobacco barn, and is 62 years old.
He saw a movie with Johnny Depp smoking an electronic cigarette and thought that may work for him to get off cigarettes. I did my research online some what in locating these types of electronic cigarettes.
I read through some of the info at this forum about the best products to buy when starting out.
I felt I did my duty in research, found a good site to purchase a good product and even a forum with lots of info.
However, when I received the products, I was shocked and became angry. Wouldn't you be? One of the products was all corroded with what appeared to be battery acid leaking out into the plastic wrapping.
You do your research, spend time locating what you think is a trustful site with quality product, trust submitting your credit card info, spend almost $100 bucks, and receive junk.
But I will tell you what really made me mad. Sure I was upset and mad about the product. But what really made me mad was visiting the site for contact help, returning the product info, and there was NO
contact info on the store site. When clicking on HELP, it said I HAD to register at this forum before I could receive help. Now let me tell you something else, (especially to the person that posted all I had to
do was write a few lines to send the item back). HOW does a person send an item back when they do not know for sure, where to send the item back to??? The address label is very light type and even so,
not always do you return a product to the return address printed on the package. It's best to have the exact return product address so you will know you are in fact returning it to the correct place.
Fourth, YES I was having a very bad day. There was a bad storm here in Tennessee when I received the product. A huge limb fell out of a tree in my drive and crashed into one of my trucks. To top
that off, baby squirrels were crying every where that came out of that tree limb. I have 7 outside cats and my cats killed two of them and I managed to save two. So I have two baby squirrels that look
to be about 4 to 5 weeks old in a box that was starving and crying for their mother. I had to rush out to the vet office and buy bottles with nipples and esbilac formula to prevent starvation of the little
rat like critters. To top this off, I tried to get the vet office to take the squirrels, release them after they reached survival age. They refused. I called the Tennessee Wildlife Rescue Association and they
were of no help.
Have you ever heard a baby squirrel cry? It is quite pitiful. But I got them all dry, in a big cardboard box, with old t-shirts for warmth and comfort, and feeding them 4 times per day.
Fifth, I work online. I have worked online for 15 years. I know how ash holish a customer can come across to be. But I also have enough sense to know that you cannot read everything about that
person or the person's day or the person's experience by reading a few upsetting lines in an email or on a forum. I ALWAYS reply back nicely, find out exactly what problem they had, and remedy
their issue if at all possible.
Six, I can say that the store owner or Christopher (whomever that is) acted as I act when I have a customer issue....which is good.
So I will be ordering again from this store and appreciate HIS professionalism in this matter.

I can't believe a customer has to register at a forum before they can get help in returning the product.
I received the product today and it's all corroded!!!
I don't see anything on the store site that relays how to return the product, no print out return slip, nothing but to register here.
I won't be buying again and I do expect a full refund. Perhaps I should call my credit card company to deny the charge.
Absolutely horrible site, horrible product, horrible service.

I've tried quite a few myself, and have found that Awesome Vapor's "Special Roast Coffee" is the best. A very nuanced flavor that tastes like a quality cup of coffee. Just my two cents, your mileage may vary.

Believe me I'm loosing hair by the day. I cant even describe to you how frustrated we are. We had one liquid shipment due in around the 16th, it's been sitting in customs ever since. So now we have to wait for another production run (which is happening as we speak) Chinese New Year tends to put a damper on things
We do have hardware that is due to arrive Tuesday/Wednesday. That shipment contains, Black eGos, atomizers, silver eGos, Revolution kits, KR808 atomizers filled and empty. We've even got Joye Sticks on the way.
I do apologize and I know it's frustrating but I'm working night and day on China's you know what ensuring our shipments are hurried along as fast as possible

The Utah House Business and Labor Committee on Friday voted 10-4 against a
bill (HB 170) to ban the sales of most flavored smoke-free tobacco products,
which included smokeless tobacco and electronic cigarettes. The bill also
required that e-cigarette sales be made face-to-face.
Opponents of the bill said its passage would have been devastating for Utah's
former smokers who have switched to smoke-free alternatives, since these
consumers depend on the Internet for access to a variety of products,
including flavors that often make the products more appealing than
traditional cigarettes.
Among the staunchest opponents of the bill was the Consumer Advocates for

Phaseman66 reacted to DAYVAPE in Looking For Best Cartos?
Being that cartos are so much cheaper... you are going to have to expect some of the little issues with them. I have tried every damn carto out there and I STILL KEEP COMING BACK to my trusty Boge 510s!! I do have some 306 cartos on order and should be getting them any day now. I'm stoked to try them out since they need no adapters, etc. to use with my 510 fittings. I just think we are still a ways out on that "perfect cartomizer"... but I guess the only way to get there is to keep trying new versions! FOR ME, nothing performs enough better than a Boge 510 to warrant switching over yet... unless these 306 cartos have the right amount of filler to suit my needs. We shall see!
By the way... don't forget that PG based juices tend to work better in mainly all of the cartos out there. I know some folks do blends with success... I just can't speak for that since I'm 100% PG.

Mike Siegel's new study on e-cigarettes

Electronic Cigarettes Show Promise as a Smoking Cessation Tool:
New Study Finds Electronic Cigarettes More Effective Than NRT for Quitting Smoking
A new study being published online ahead of print today in the American Journal of Preventive Medicine reports that electronic cigarettes are a promising tool to help smokers quit, producing six-month abstinence rates that are better than those for traditional nicotine replacement products (NRT). In a six-month follow-up survey of 222 first-time purchasers of Blu electronic cigarettes, researchers from the Boston University School of Public Health found that 31.0% of respondents reported having quit smoking. This compares favorably to an average six-month abstinence rate of between 12% and 18% for NRT products. The authors conclude that electronic cigarettes are a promising method for smoking cessation. The study was led by Dr. Michael Siegel, Professor in the Department of Community Health Sciences at the Boston University School of Public Health.
The authors conducted an internet-based survey of a sample of first-time purchasers of Blu electronic cigarettes six months after the initial purchase. The primary findings were the following:
· 31.0% of the respondents reported having quit smoking at six-month follow-up.
· Of those who had quit smoking, 34.3% had discontinued the use of electronic cigarettes as well.
· 66.8% of respondents reported having reduced the number of cigarettes they smoked after using electronic cigarettes.
· 66.8% of respondents reported having quit smoking for a period of time after using electronic cigarettes.
· Among respondents using electronic cigarettes frequently (more than 20 times per day), the six-month smoking abstinence rate was 70.0%.
The study’s main limitation is the low response rate of 4.5%. It is possible that those who responded to the survey were more likely to have quit smoking than those who did not respond. Nevertheless, despite this limitation, the study authors believe that this is the best evidence to date on the effectiveness of electronic cigarettes for smoking cessation. They point out that this is the first survey which relied upon an unbiased sampling frame. Despite the limitation, the authors conclude that electronic cigarettes “hold promise as a smoking-cessation method and that they are worthy of further study using more rigorous research designs.”
Dr. Siegel suggested that a major reason for electronic cigarettes’ apparent effectiveness as smoking cessation method is the fact that these devices address both the pharmacologic and behavioral aspects of addiction to smoking: “While it is well-recognized that nicotine plays a role in smoking addiction, little attention has been given to the behavioral aspects of the addiction. It is the fact that these devices simulate the smoking experience which appears to make them effective as a smoking cessation tool.”
A number of anti-smoking groups have argued that electronic cigarettes should be removed from the market because they have not been shown to be effective for smoking cessation, and several states – including New York – are considering bans on electronic cigarettes. “This study suggests that electronic cigarettes are helping literally thousands of ex-smokers to remain off cigarettes,” Dr. Siegel stated.
“Banning this product would invariably result in thousands of ex-smokers returning to cigarette smoking. Removing electronic cigarettes from the market would substantially harm the public’s health.”
Co-authors of the study were Kerry L. Tanwar and Kathleen S. Wood, also of the Boston University School of Public Health.

Phaseman66 reacted to Christopher in Pro Vari Review
Well my Pro Vari finally arrived in the mail. Short review: This thing kicks some major balls. I've tried close to 40 mods now and nothing comes close to this bad boy. When I say this sets the new standard I mean it. I sort of picture all the mod makers working away, the guy that runs Provape walks over to the table, whips is wang out and says "lemme show you how this is done."
For obvious reasons I don't often review other suppliers products. But this thing is to good to pass up. I will create a video review once I get around to it but for now here is the text version.
(By the way Vapor Talk has no affiliation with Pro Vape. I paid full price for the unit the same as anyone else)
Lets start with the body
Pictures don't do the Pro Vari justice. Pro Vape really needs to get some new pictures done. The pictures on their site look like someone is trying to sell a Ferrari by posting cell phone photos of the car. It just doesn't show off the beauty of the unit. Looking at their pictures I assumed the body would be made of thin aluminum. Instead I'm pretty sure it's made from DARPA's latest bullet proof technology. It's sleek, well built and looks a lot like a light saber. The atomizer fitting is well built and has recessed top cap. If liquid does happen to leak out, it's not going to run down the unit. Although not the first to implement this, it's still a nice touch. Both the top cap and end cap are chrome in color. The body is brushed steel look.
Complaints: Minor. 1. I'd love to see this unit in black. It would look amazing. 2. Your hands smell a bit like brass afterwards but I have no doubt this will fade in time. A good cleaning with some baby wipes will remedy this. I'm really nit picking here.
The end cap
It seems minor but people often complain about the end cap on mods. IE the spring popping off, cap no screwing in smoothly etc. The cap literally screws on as smooth as a volume nob on a stereo. The entire cap covers the spring so there is absolutely no way the spring will ever pop off. It's locked up tighter than an Enron share holder.
Built in micro controller
That's right, they put a mini computer in this thing. The Pro Vari has an amazing list of little features.
On the fly voltage adjustment - You can change your units voltage from 3.3 - 6.0 in a matter of seconds using the built in digital display. Nice.
Ohm reader - There's a damn ohm reader built in. (Wonder if Radio Shack will let me return the one I already have) Not sure if your using a LR atomizer? Use the built in ohm tester to find out.
Voltage Checker - Check the currently voltage on your battery
LED on off - Turn off or on the LED
Sleep mode - Need to pack your unit and go? Put it into sleep mode and it will shut down to stop the battery from draining. This essentially disabled the button but you still have access to the LED feature screen.
All this is controlled via the built in LED screen. Slick. The screen is covered by a magnified piece of glass/plastic making it easy to read the red display. 6 quick clicks and your into the menu. 10 clicks and it turns into a stealth fighter.
The Button
Often over looked but extremely important. This is what I was probably worried about the most. The pictures show what looks like a plastic cheap button. Not the case at all. The button is large. sturdy and comfortable on the hands. It's clear and has an embed LED to show you when the unit is engaged. While only time will tell, I don't see the button going out any time soon.
Battery Life
All day. ProVari takes a single 18490/18500 battery which needs to be purchased seprate. While I haven't really tested the battery life, I did use the battery right out of the box without charging it. I ran at 4.1 volts (the happy spot for me) and it lasted well over 12 hours without an issue. This wasn't constant vaping but the battery didn't die. My guess is you'll get plenty of battery life. I'm sure other members will report on this later.
To sum it up The Pro Vari is an amazing ecig mod. With all the bells and whistles anyone could ask for and a 1 year warranty to boot, this is money well spent. Granted the price tag at $150 bucks is steep, this could easily be the last mod you ever need to buy.
Quick list of features
on/off mod
16 second saftey cut off
Short Circuit atomizer protection
reverse batery protection
battery monitor
over discharge protection
termal monitoring
microprocessor controlled
LED on/off
volt checker
on the fly voltage changing
ohm reader
hidden stealth fighter option (joke, please don't email asking how to enable this)

Phaseman66 got a reaction from JagSol in Court Says Fda Authority Over E-Cigarettes Is Limited!
Sure thing!
WASHINGTON—A U.S. federal appeals court in a decision Tuesday found that as long as electronic cigarettes aren't marketed as a way to treat or cure a disease, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has no authority to block the importation of the battery-powered products.
The U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit ruled that the FDA's powers are limited when it comes to regulating e-cigarettes.
The FDA had appealed a federal judge's ruling that the agency doesn't have the authority to regulate electronic cigarettes.
In a case that tests the reach of the federal government's regulatory powers, the FDA said it does have the authority to regulate some products containing nicotine as though they are drugs and devices, such as nicotine patches and nicotine lollipops.
In January, U.S. District Judge Richard J. Leon sided with electronic-cigarette makers Smoking Everywhere Inc. and NJoy in finding that the FDA has no authority to regulate the products and can't stop them from entering the country. His opinion came with a preliminary injunction that allowed Smoking Everywhere and NJoy to continue importing their products into the country.
The FDA has seized shipments of electronic cigarettes, which contain nicotine and look and taste like cigarettes but don't contain tar, amid concerns the products were being marketed as safer alternatives to traditional tobacco. The FDA asserted its power by saying the electronic cigarettes were essentially drugs or devices that were being imported without FDA approval. Regulating the products as drugs or devices means the companies would have to conduct extensive clinical safety testing and apply for formal FDA approval.
Smoking Everywhere and NJoy are trying to avoid that. The companies say their products are used for recreation and, unlike nicotine patches, aren't used as smoking cessation aids.
Judge Leon's decision was based on a Supreme Court case decided in 2000 called FDA v. Brown & Williamson Tobacco Corp. In that case, the court decided that allowing cigarettes and smokeless tobacco products to be marketed as drugs or devices would result in their being banned from the market.
That case "leaves the FDA without jurisdiction over these products under the FDCA's [Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act] drug/device provisions," the appeals court said in Tuesday's decision.
