  1. Me too, Mike! I really like those, they're so easy to refill. Tip it often, refill before 1/3 mark, and you're good to go. If I could remember the name of them, I'd recommend them more often lol.
  2. A huge Congrats to you for switching over to vaping!!! Sounds like you've a nice setup too. Welcome to VT!!!
  3. Dual coils work great on the regular 3.7v mods, and on the regular eGo. The Twist might do better with the single coil though. The single coil will let you raise the volt of the eGo Twist until it suits your particular flavor/juice. I would try them both
  4. LOL, yeh, ya kinda missed it in my previous before previous post. He's great about having the stuff we need in stock, including the attys themselves. A lot of the Rebuildable atty places don't have the stuff you need. If you need a new top cap or anything, you're just SOL. But Jim has it all covered. (no pun intended).
  5. Jim is the DID owner, vendor, at e-vape.gr
  6. Good deal then, you already removed it. Yeh, I wondered about my wire under the fillscrew too, at first, until I had to remove it to fill it. Lightbulb lol. It's hilarious how stumped we can be over such minor details. I still laugh at myself for feeling overwhelmed with my first eGo kit. lol You have to buy the Food Grade (304) or the Corrosion resistant (316). Either one should work. http://www.mcmaster.com/#wire-mesh-screens/=j3ye07 and even eBay has it. But I would refrain until you know exactly what to get. Shoot, one sheet will last you a year or more! Also, Jim has it on his site, plus you get free mesh when you order a DID from him. (not every genesis comes with wire and mesh, but the DID sure does. Jim's a great vendor!!!) Safest bet for now, is to get extra from Jim though. He also has clear tanks, wire, and spare nuts and posts and stuff. He's on the ball, that guy! I luckily started with the regular sized DID and was even luckier to nail it my first ever try. After hearing your tale, I'll start recommending the regular sized DID's for first timers. What a tale eh! Thanks for the Thanks you've given, & it was my pleasure to help you out. I'm just happy that you've got it going.
  7. That's great!!!! Congrats!!! The wire in the kit is 32 gauge A-1 Kanthal. You can find a roll of 200' for 11 bucks and under on eBay, Also try the 30 gauge when you find it. It's a bit thicker and easier to wrap. Another FEEDBACK on your pics concerns the wire under the fillscrew. Don't forget to trim/cut it off so it doesn't short anything out. There shouldn't be any "left over" wire, when you're satisfied with your wrap. (except a little at the top for minor adjustments/recoiling, like Rick does). Pretty soon you'll be doing all this in under 5 minutes! Buy a roll of it, an extra genesis, (hopefully a DID), and practice practice practice til it's old hat. The wick should last a few months, and the coil too. There are all kinds of threads and videos out there on the Genesis style attys. Cleaning, dual coils, dbl wicks, u-wicks, ... all the advanced stuff that will keep you busy for a good long while. It's an exciting world!!! And we are one step ahead of the stupid politicians with their ever changing laws. . Congrats!!!
  8. First feedback: by evilfrog: "If that's 32 kanthal then he should be well over 3 ohms. If it's 32 then his mesh is probably poorly oxidized and/or is shorting against the bottom" (lift the wick a hair)
  9. I think it's beautiful!!! Congrats!!!! I've shared with some friends and they're going to check it over too, and if anything is looking "off", I'll report back to you. Be sure to direct drip for the first 10 draws or so, to be sure to season that wick nicely and get the wick flowing smooth. The DID is favored for it's amazing wicking abilities. You'll see! Fire er' up!
  10. The DID's version of how to do the DID: (works great too!)
  11. As soon as we get the DID and MINI DID, we have to take it apart and put the o-rings on it. They come in a little package with, some extra 0-rings. Putting the o-rings on correctly:
  12. I'll try to take a pic today. My phone camera sucks, so don't hold your breath for a decent close up. In the meantime, though, here's a pic of the MINI DID on my purple eGO-c-TWIST. Blue eGo-PT with MINI DID (plus boot)
  13. Erros on the provari usually indicate that your wick is not properly oxidized. The wick is set in at an unNatural angle. The cap is banging the wick, because it can not miss the wick at this angle. REview the videos, notice the STRAIGHT wick, the HEIGHT of the wick, the OXIDIZED methods of the wick, and all things wick and coil related. The burning wick, as you have it set up now, is not limited to the DID. This will/would happen on ANY genesis. It's user related, not product related lol. Try try again. You'll get it!
  14. I asked around and the wick seems to be the biggest culprit. It is pulled out in such a way as to cause a huge hot spot. He really needs to redo the wick and coil. Watch the videos again.
  15. Oh my! That's a new one! I'll ask around and see what the problem is. Freaky! In the meantime, here's Scott's helpful tip using a tiny cut of tobacco paper. The paper helps newbies because it lends a hair of air space to assure against coiling too tightly. Plus it helps to protect the wick from scratches while the newbie is pushing the coils around with a toothpick. Make sure to follow every step, if using this protective measure.
  16. Sorry I didn't see your post earlier, I was out of town. The problem you're experiencing sounds like something is shorting, probably on the cap. Check list: 1. DID you Jack Frost your wick? 2. DID you trim the tank end of the wick at 45% angle and torch or trim off ALL stray ends? 3. DID you lift the wick a smidgen after inserting it into the bottom of the tank so that it no longer hits the bottom? 4. DID you trim the top of the wick below the nut height after coiling? (and remove all stray ends) The kid needs the computer back for a little while, but I will be back in a little while and post some more videos. Here is the Jack Frost method. (it's a long video, but ONLY because he takes it nice and slow so the newbie can follow every single nuance).
  17. Congrats on your purchase, and welcome to the family. You might want to pick up some 24mg juice. The 24 will give you a bigger TH. I'm not a menthol fan, but someone will be in shortly to steer you in some right directions. There's so many wonderful juice chefs out there! Actually, you might want to start a new thread titled "Top 10 Menthol Juices?" Best of luck to you!
  18. Welcome home, BluCavvy! The ego-c-TWIST is a big win, as was mentioned, as well as the new vision clearomizer thingies that were mentioned. Check out Brian's new store, TheVeteranVapor . Lots of Rebuildable Attys out now, (DID, HellFire, Zatty, etc) including bottom fed ones. (Chalise, Era). The Speroid(sp) is a brand new rebuildable carto type, but the filling never ever touches the coil itself. Great for tobacco flavors. Smoktek(sp) is coming out with a ZMAX... VW plus VV both in one. Chameleon x Dancer is a new mod with changeable outter ring skin. It's the size of an 19350 but holds an 18650 batt! So much is new, can't even begin to cover it. Have fun catching up! .
  19. Phil just did a review on the Blu if you're interested.
  20. Great news! and good to see Dr. K's research was well accepted and respected at the major convention.
  21. I received shipping notice this morning!!! Now for the 2 week travel/customs trip. Not to worry, I have a tub of Marqurieta and know how to use it. RWescler is making a tutorial series for the genny users, specifically the DID. The videos are long, but they cover everything and well worth the watch. Video #1 covers the Jack Frost method plus some, and it's the most important tutorial to get started. Soon #2 and #3 will be uploaded (they might be already! He was uploading them last night) Jack Frost method of prepping the mesh wick:
