Welcome to VaporTalk, Mike! What an awful ordeal you've been through! And, I'm afraid I'd have been in the same boat, if vaping hadn't of entered my life. It sucks to be so addicted to smoking. I'm so glad you switched to Vaping, and that you've started with the Twist! You've certainly done your research, that's a nice ecig. When I found a flavor I loved, it was easy to "forget" about having a cigarette, except for those dreaded 6 a day... waking, coffee, after eating, before bed... but one by one, they too left my life. I did, however, have to challenge them, challenge myself, and I'm still jumping up into the air and clicking my heels over quitting those lingering stubborn ones. Best of luck to you. You're off to a great start with that twist!

Wow, he's way behind. That would be handy to have extra helpers for times like these... it's hard to find someone else to fully trust for the job though, I imagine. Hang in there, hopefully yours is on deck. (up next)

Some prefilleds come with removeable caps though, like LiquidXpress, they use the regular Boge Cartos with removable caps. Just stick a kitchen fork inside the hole and yank it out. Tilt the carto, like a soda or beer cup, and slowly fill, pause, let it absorb, repeat... until it's sparkling wet. Too wet? Just shake the excess out. Too dry? Just top off some more. Good luck to you! Oh, and you replace the cap with a drip tip. Drip tips are more comfy, funner colors and shapes, and are so much easier to remove and insert after refilling cartos.

The Spinner kit that was suggested earlier, is spot on for what you need. It is Variable Volt... that means that if 3.7volts isn't doing it for you, just turn it up a notch or 2 or 5 until you find the ooooooommmmmph that is right for you at the time. Turn it back down for another juice or another time.... it's your call. Can't go wrong with a Spinner. Also, as suggested, try juice that has at least 20% VG added to the mix.

It would make for an interesting Zombie/Apopocrolypse(sp) thread... emergency supplies. I'll see if I can find some info on your bread tie idea, as I browse the forums this month. If you need 32g, don't hesitate to ask. I have plenty. (bought a spool a few months ago). Metallic Taste? That could be several reasons why. 1. The wick isn't oxidized enough and is shorting out. 2. The coil is wrapped too lose, and is causing awful flavor 3. The wick is touching metal somewhere, and shorting out. (tank, cap, edges of wick hole) 4 The next will come to me as soon as I leave the forum... Do you have a camera? Would it be possible for you to share pics of your atty setup? For super closeups, I find it easiest to take a regular decent picture. Open the pic in your gallery, ZOOM in, take a screenshot, save, and send. (unless you have a great camera that doesn't blurr the closeups).

As long as you have over 20 posts at ecf, you are verifiable I believe. But, the verifier person is gone a lot lately, and can only verify so many apps a week. This might be the problem you face? Here is the mssg: ON HOLD....Verification is on hold due to the hospitalization of my father. I will be with him in the hospital throughout his stay. As soon as I return this message will be removed and verification will resume. Please be patient and I'll get to them as quickly as I can. STATUS: Due to the increase in activity in real life, verifications will no longer be processed on a daily basis. I will attempt to process verifications 2-3 times a week, as time permits. So please allow 5 days for processing, although time will usually be less. Please do not PM or email me for status on your request, if there is a problem with your request you will be PM'd explaining the problem.

Dang! Let's all crash Krystal's for a vape tasting party. Anybody with me?

I think I love you

I completely agree with MSE. Your mod may need it's contacts cleaned, with alcohol on Q-tip swabs or something. They oxidize (ok, wrong word, but I'm not getting through to my brain that I'd really appreciate the right word here). really easy. If you need wire, I can send you a little. PM me your address.

That is one great article!! I applaud John for speaking up like he did. I hope he does another go at it early this year, before the Obama Care 50% Nicotine Tax Increase. Imagine having to pay 50% more on your medical needs just because you ate one too many salsa chips.

Right on! The best ones are yet to come. There are some doozies being created as I type. Even the Poldiac and the Caravela are going to become Hybrid-able soon... plus there are more on the horizon, like URQ's new RBA he's still perfecting which I have no doubt will also be a Hybrid before too long... In the meantime... check out Igetcha69 channel. He has reviewed almost every Hybrid out there, and RBA. Next, is JCWest and also PetServ (oh keeerap, I forget his youtube name, but he's AlmightyGod on the forums, and Dwayne on the talk shows). and more. Some of the popular hybrids are: Orion V2 Ikarus ihybrid macvillan juggernaut Zenesis silverdog etc... all hard to get though... I would go with the Poldiac, (will be back in stock tomorrow-ish, and the 3 tube special ends Feb 8) and then turn it into a hybrid when the hybrid kit is released, or keep it wild and free and buy another one later on to turn into a hybrid, or buy a different hybrid. (it's a hard hitting mechanical mod). The classies, I'm afraid, is about the only option for many hybrids. But the markup is ridiculous most of the time. Do your homework and don't pay overboard! Until more modders purchase the machines needed in order to produce quantity as well as quality, they'll be hard to come by. And all hybrids have their own quirks ... none are perfect yet,... but some almost are. I'll keep an ear out for you. Probably the ihybrid would be the best choice for you. It's the least quirkiest of the ones out there so far....

You're doing great, OP. Either one, the Twist or the Spinner is a great choice. The Spinner is larger & lasts longer in between charges, and is easier to read the numbers (except the chrome one is still kinda hard if your eyes are old like mine). The Twist, obviously lol, is shorter, slenderer, but the button placement is a little more comfortable, but not drastically so. You can't go wrong with either one, and when you're ready for backups, just pick up the batteries of the ones you want, without having to get the entire kit, but I must confess, the whole kit comes in handy for traveling and stuff, or if a charger goes bonkers on ya or something.

The Volt is a good one for being a small cig size type. I use one occasionally, like when playing xbox, etc. Congrats!!! You made a good decision! If you need more oomph later on, you'll be ready for the eGo TWIST, Variable Volt. It's still cig style, but larger, and like I said, when you need more oomph, there it is. The cool part is, you'll still find occasion to use your Volt, like I mentioned above. It'll never be a waste of money even if you do decide to later "update".

Their RY4 isn't bad, I agree. It's not Janty's, or IKV (probably), etc... but it's not bad. I really really like their Bob's Krave Kutter which is like a Ry4/555 mix. I probably already said this lol, I should take a peek at my earlier posts, but too lazy. Anyway, AltCig.com is having a superbowl 20% off sale til Monday for those who might like to try out their flavors (and for those who already love their flavors, of course). Coupon for this superbowl sale is: 49ers or Ravens either one.

The AGA-T2 (AGA-T+) is not a genuine, but it's an okay clone. It's not anywhere close to being as good as the real genuine genesis, but it is much better than the chid. Glad to hear you have yours up and almost running!! Make sure the wick is as close to the center positive post as possible, without touching, to avoid hot spots and fires. (you've figured that out, it seems, so that's good!). The lids on yours hardly ever line up, You can fix that by: 1. wet sanding the top cap. Just set the sand paper on the table, wet your end cap's bottom, and then plunk the cap onto the sandpaper. Move the cap in a circle, keeping the cap level on the paper. Test it for line up fit. It doesn't take much to take the excess off the cap, so be sure to test the fit after each circling. 2. OR. Find an extra o-ring. Put the o-ring where you thread your cap on. Flavor? The wick needs to be wet. Try a direct drip onto the wick, put your cap back on, and see if there's improvement in flavor. Sometimes the wicks need more time to season and break in. Sometimes we need a different juice. Sometimes we need a different volt/ohm... Sometimes we need to oxidize less, sometimes more.... You'll get it, hang in there.

I know right. I wish I could take it all back, have a reDO, but with active brain cells next time around.

Rosy Cheeks. I received the most glorious rosy cheeks ever. I never had those before, not ever, in my life, because I smoked steadily since age 11 (and trial runs since age 7). I always envied others who had natural rosy cheeks, and now I envy ME! lol. funny, but true. Wrinkles? Well, ... that's another story. The older I get, the more appear. mmmmm, but maybe if I changed flavors...
-
You're welcome. Also, if you save your empty bottles, you can mix a 24 with a 0 to suit your "overall" needs. Mark your new bottle, seal it with clear tape, and voila! (unfortunately not all stores carry the flavored 0-mg, but many do, so keep looking if you don't find it). haha, yes! I hear you on the complexion! I expected to get acme for the first time in my life (chemical changes in the body), but instead I got something else I'd never had before in my life. Rosey Cheeks! What a thrill that was! Because I smoked steadily since age 11 (and off and on trys since age 7), I really missed out on things I didn't know I was missing out on before. I love vaping!!
-
Congrats for switching over completely already!! Just relax, and vape as needed. If you get dizzy, just slow down a bit until you can switch to a lower nic strength. I like to have the whole variety of mg strengths at my disposal... sometimes I need stronger, like for work breaks, sometimes I need a lot less, like when chain vaping at the computer. You'll find what works best for you and your system as the days fly by. Right now, your lungs probably can't yet handle a deep inhale... it's only natural to vape more often, to compensate for that. It all evens out in the end.

I agree with CaseAce. You'll never know how many times I've written the same message out, and then deleted before sending. Some genesis attys leak like a faucet when laid down, while others do the drip, pause, pause, drip... it depends on the genny and on how it's prepped. Making sure the airhole is sky-up helps, if you must lay it down, helps prevent a lot of leaks. But they are for the advanced users. (I have a Zenesis which has in fact emptied itself in th 5 minutes it fell on it's side before I noticed, and I have 2 out of 3 MMVapors genesis attys that haven't leaked at all. I'm not saying one is better, than the other, but the way they are built and the way we build the wick and coils does make a difference!). Once you know your OHMs, Resistances, Volts, Watts, and have a stockpile of good ol' cartos and whatnots, then you're good to go ahead and begin the wonderful world of new learning curves. But, to answer the OP's post question... "Is there any system that works consistently?" I have to say, yes!!!, the genesis, once you're past the learning curves. Getting past those curves can be ... fun, or it can be extremely frustrating, or most often, both. Like we said though, they are NOT FOR The beginner!!

No no no, I meant, in a few weeks, hopefully I can send you a nicer/safer clone, like an AGA-T+ ... so you can toss out your chid. They're only 20+ bucks (avg 25). The chid is NOT citrus friendly. But, yes, it's an okay one for learning how to wrap those coils... but you will get the top coil hot spot. Don't let it get you down if you can't work out the hot spots on that chid. The insulators are rubbish, the center post hole is too large for the post, the wick hole is too far from the center post, ... it has too many "wrongs" and not enough rights. It was the Chinese's FIRST try at the Rebuildables. (might be a collector's item someday though LOL)

+1 to Dayvape's post. The SS tank in a Genesis is great for all the citrus, clove, cinnamon flavored juices. SS and glass (pryex, fused quartz, etc), are the only kind I would use with those juices. With that said... the chid/griffin/dud/did clone genesis you have is not SS! It's chrome plated brass. I don't know if citrus eats away chrome, but more than likely it does. You'll need an AGA-T+ clone ( or of course, the real genesis made out of 304/316 SS or better). I wouldn't trust your clone with Lemon. Try to pick up a glass tank for it maybe, from IBtanked or wherever. (those chids make me so angry, they do not save money!). To clean the genesis in between juices, just fill a syringe with vodka/everclear, and plunge it in there after syringing your juice out. Syringe the vodka out, squirt it into the sink, refill with clean vodka, and plunge that in there good... repeat as necessary. It will dry fast, it's alcohol base. I so wish I could set you up with a decent genesis so you can chuck your chid. Give me a few weeks, let me see what I can come up with.

It's a magical, elusive, even esoteric, guideline we foolheartedly try so desperately to follow when we are craving some really good RY4! not gonna happen when the metallic pink LTV2 keeps yelling at me too... omg

So, like, I went to IKV and they were sold out in my mg and size.... so I bought an SS Vamo at VaporBank lol. I'm only 40 bucks over my budget for this payday, no problem right. Hopefully next payday IKV will have some more in stock. Wish me luck! me and my silly distractions! why oh why can't I ever stay focused?! and on budget! Hubby's gonna disown me if I keep this up.
