  1. Oh, and as an aside: The Viva's are great, they're easy to refill, and easy to change out the coil heads. But, they are not sweatshirt pocket friendly. I only use them occasionally, (I'm a ss rba fan), but every time I have used them, the tank tilts enough to come off, leaving me with empty tank syndrome, and gooey pocket. They're probably fine in a shirt pocket tho. I don't know. Just a headsup, not a deal breaker.
  2. The 2.8 ones will range anywhere from 2.4 to 3.2 ... the 2.8 is a "ballpark" guesstimate most of the time. Whenever you set one on your vamo, check the resistance first, adjust your volts to suit, (or set your watts to suit) and vape away. I would shy away from dual coils, most VV's don't like the dual coiled attys/cartos.
  3. Thanks for sharing his response! (fast and thorough too, I might add). It still seems strange to me that the switch would blow before the spring would collapse though. The switch itself should be high amped if it's not wired. I'm baffled. In any case, go with the Helix hotspring, (with extras on hand), and it should collapse before blowing the switch. Do they mention the AMP rating of the switch? haha, yes, it looks like McQuinn must have hit upon the answer. Especially because it blew without the atty attached at all. Baffling! The Kick, like you said, should definitely help to cover the touching aspect. Thank goodness we have lots of posters reading various troubleshooting scenarios. I hadn't stumbled upon McQQuinns before until now. (and I still don't understand how it could happen, but I trust his input).
  4. Hey! I found you a high end genesis Titanium atty! Hurry, while they're in stock. http://ukvapers.org/Thread-Removable-genesis-%C2%ABHYDRA-2-%C2%BB-titanium

    ohms and vamo

+1 what Robv stated. Another plus about the Vamo, is it has the resistance checker. You'll be able to check the ohms of every brand new atty and carto that arrives in your vapemail, know which pile to stack them in, send the DOA ones right back to the vendor, and vape happily away whether in VV or in VW mode. (and like Rob said, if they're all too low, the VW will change to suit for you, so no problem even if they're too low of resistance for your particular juice).
  6. Welcome to VaporTalk! Beautiful photo!! I've tried hard to capture my Roller with justice, and always end up with epic fail. I LOVE my Roller. I mainly use my D14 Mini DID on it, which is fantastic, but I hear the D16 Temon is even better and can't wait to get one of those for it. I like the IGO-L on it too. (okay, so I like everything I put on it lol). You have excellent taste, my friend. and wow, that Provari shined up beautifully!!
  7. LOL, you'll be fine. The menu is quite simple, almost instinctive. I say almost though, because when I've not used mine for any length of time I have to look it up in the manual, slap forehead, and vape on.
  8. Effer!! :P LOL, that is soooooo awesome!!!! Congrats Case!! I'm jealous today, but I'll have my day in the future and get even.
  9. You're more than welcome, it's my pleasure to share what others have shared with me over the years. No problem! The Helix hotspring is perfect! Grab a few, if you can, it's always good to have backups. I think I'll grab some for my B.A.M. next payday, to be ready for whatever comes. The Silver Bullet is considered a Semi-Mechanical mod, because it has wiring but no VV or electronics. The Stinger seems to fall into that category too. I hope they answer back soon, it would be good to hear their info.
  10. I agree, re the delrin and the looks both. I am putting this at top 10 spot on my neverending shopping list.
  11. That's a real beauty!! Ohhh nice! This would go nice with my antique brass one. Is the tip part itself delrin?
  12. Actually I do. The Kick is only human ( ) and can fail just like the rest of us. With the hotspring on your mod, you will be protected even when your Kick dies of old age. The springs are something like 2 or 3 bucks a piece, not too pricey. Being the huge 26500 mod, the SB spring should fit easily. Actually, I'd be surprised if your Stinger's spring isn't already a hotspring. You might want to ask your Vendor for info on that. It never hurts to have extra springs on hand, regardless,
  13. You might want to try using a different hot spring... Will the Altsmoke Silver Bullet ones fit in it? If the one that is in it isn't a true hot spring, it will fry your switch instead of collapsing the spring. The Silver Bullet hot spring is a good one, so is the ReosMods hot springs.

I would pick up the NiteCore Intell-charger v2 ... It's a great charger, smart, plus it can charge the big o' 26650 batteries as well as the tiny 18350 batteries without needing spacers. (and all sizes in between and then some). The Xtar is really nice too. I got my Intelli-charger at Amazon, but you can get them anywhere. Make sure it's the V2 Here's a review: http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?337187-Review-of-SysMax-NiteCore-Intellicharger-i4-V2-Charger I really don't know if the trustfire charger will work or not, until you get something better like the NiteCore V2, but, my guess is that it will. Hopefully someone who does know will be along to answer.
  15. Nice review!! I might have to pick one of these up this year sometime. I love the Empire mods, but they're so hard to get, and these are the next best thing from what I've seen and heard. Right on!
  16. Congrats on your new Vamo! They're pretty sweet for the money. Here is a link to the PDF user manual: Have fun!!
  17. What a shame! I hope he gets his act together soon and restores everything back to proper running order. DOA attys, cartos, or barely working ones, is one of the main reasons I turned to the RBA's. Even these need to be of high enough quality to literally not be considered "disposables".
  18. The 3.6v battery shouldn't be causing the short, but it's dangerously close to needing to be recharged. I only use the 3.6v during new coils time, to get the hot spots out, and then I change it out for a fresh one when ready to go. The AMPS is causing the switch to blow... there is either a short in the mod or a short in your atty or your OHMs on your atty is way too low of resistance for your mod. LR likes a lot of amps, which is why LR users usually use a mechanical mod. In fact, on most VV/VW mods, if the LR is too low, you'll get an error reading. Either shorts or too low of LR can cause AMP overload. I think you may have had a loose wire in your mod. It happens, even with the best mods out there, from time to time. I'm glad they're replacing it for you!! A true mechanical mod doesn't have wiring, but instead relies on hot springs. If the battery or atty shorts, the spring will collapse which removes the current. What mod do you have?

Nope, the Kick has it's own built in protection. In fact, the biggest complaint about the kick is how it shuts down at 3.8 sometimes. But, when you're dealing with rechargable batteries, it's not such a bad thing.

That's a valid point, to be aware of and careful about over draining the battery. Fortunately, the IMR's will drop in performance, just like the regular batteries do, which is our signal to change them out and put in fresh ones. When using IMR's it's very important to have a battery volt reader thingie to check the levels before recharging and after charging. My advice? As soon as performance drops, take it out! Even if it's still at 3.8 or 3.7... I go through 2 18650 batteries a day. The lower your ohms, the faster the battery drains. Don't take chances. The Nutz is regulated. Do a search on the Nutz (oops, hit post, forgot to add the rest of my thoughts first lol) , by Jhountz .... he somehow turns non-regulated mods into regulated ones, plus he has his own line as well.

You're welcome. Oh, and if you have an 18650 tube, check out the MNKE imr batteries.

The IMR can handle the amps, they're high drain batteries, and when they fail they don't usually explode. I use the IMR in my mech mods, but I also like to use the resettable fuse. If you use a Kick, you won't need a fuse.
  23. haha, welcome to the world of "lists" or furiously fast "F'5-ing".
  24. Different colored drip tips work nicely too.
