  1. Adding GP TPA's Clove, Vanilla Cupcake, and Menthol to my next list. And jotting a note to use 5% or less. Great, Thanks!!

    New to RBA's?

haha, wasn't that great seeing Phil dance and tout! Loved it. Personally, I prefer the larger wickholes, because they allow more mesh/wick, which carries more juice. Some peeps prefer the smaller. My genuine DID has something like a 3.5 wickhole, and wicks like crazy. Love it! (only found at MMVapors.com, Any other did is a cheap clone). The AGA-T+ has a small wick hole, but because it is SS, it can safely be drilled out, like Phil did his. Makes a huge difference!

    Igo-L Dripper

I've only wrapped once so far, just received it not too long ago. Yes, they gunk up fast, no matter the wire, it's the nature of the beast. But they're easy to rinse out, carefully dry burn, and you're set to go. There are tons of video's on youtube for cleaning the dripper type (silica rope) rda's. Shoot, some peeps even set them up with mesh wicks. Very versatile. If you go the SS mesh route, be sure to get the Genuine DID (the D16 is the most popular one, but they're all great). from MMVapors.com Check out the "clearance" space for "blemished" mark down ones if you aim to save a penny. If you can't yet afford the genuine, then I would recommend the AGA-T+(2) or the RSST (AC9 clone) either one. The RSST has a thin top cap, gets really hot when chain vaped, but otherwise is a great little atty! The AGA-T+/2 is usually great... every batch can be different, it's always a crapshoot, but so far, they are all vapable, workable and are touted as SS material. (don't get a did clone, you'll cuss it all the way to the bin. They are known to have crappy insulators, wobbly center posts, chrome plating over brass, and so on and so on). Oh, if I heard right, the RSST, can be refilled using the typical long nose bottle, instead of the syringe. btw. In any case, no matter which one you get, you'll love it! There's a lot to be said for self-sufficiency in times like these.
  4. Oh hey, if the list inspires a recipe from you, jot it down! I'd love to try it.
  5. Hey y'all! I'm going to try DIY again, this time using the easier method of adding flavors to unflavored NIC juice mix. The flavorings I have on hand, to date, are: 18mg Unflavored e-Liquid Nicotine Size 215ml Base PG $15.49 Cinnamon Danish Swirl by Capella Grape by Capella Irish Cream by Capella Hazelnut by Capella Marshmallow by Capella Forest Fruit Mix by FlavourArt Liquid Amber by FlavourArt Mango by FlavourArt Blueberry By Flavor West Circus Cotton Candy (signature ecx) Bavarian Cream (signature ecx) Banana Nut Bread (signature ecx) The Perfumers Apprentice: (GP) Caramel Cappuccino RY4 Double Jamaican Rum French Vanilla Banana Cream Tobacco USA-Mix I still need to pick up Apple, caramel, watermelon, juicy fruit, graham crust, cheesecake, absinthe, anise, citrus, .... and so forth. (does it ever end? lol) Before I ruin my 18mg unflavored Nic juice, I thought I'd ask you all for your input on the flavorings I have. Which ones should I toss out right this minute and not use at all? All I know is, some brands are better than others for certain flavors, and they're all criss-crossed across the board. Also, I'd really like to keep track of the "best" brand for each new flavor I have yet to buy. Recommendations are always very very welcome. I need a way to cross reference my flavors, as the list grows longer. It's already a pain to try to keep track of them. I don't know how you all do it!
  6. I wonder why the different wicks call for different types of wire? I thought it was just some kind of personal preference thing. I'll have to dive deeper into that I suppose. So, JsR, try wrapping your wick with single wire to achieve your 3.0 ohm. (guesstimating here, but I'd say about 10 wraps with the 28). Now that you have a base to go by, twist a long strand that is longer than your single strand was by 1/4 to 1/2. Good luck getting that many strands on there though! It would be so much easier to achieve this with 32gauge wire, because it starts out higher resistance to begin with. The higher the resistance, the slower the action, but for some reason the flavor is usually better (depends on the variances of everything of course). I have one genny set up at 0.8 for instant gratification, another at 1.2 and yet another at 2.5. Sometimes I like a long slow relaxing draw, sometimes I want a quick puff. The flavor, if using the same flavor, will be different in each, minor, but different. I usually use different flavors in each though. Let me ask one of my mentors your question, and I'll get back to you if/when I hear anything.
  7. haha, no, I don't mind at all. And it's perfectly great info, if I don't say so myself. BUT, that's as much mathematics as my mind can hold. Unfortunately, I really can't decipher the lower resistance wire (28g) + Twisted, plus wraps to equal 3.0 ohms. A WHOLE lot of wraps is all I can come up with... probably about 15? Rixter, can you decipher?
  8. I agree, Rixter. Trying for a 3.0 ohm coil with 28 gauge will be difficult... and even more difficult with a twisted 28. (28 is lower resistance than 32). A 9/10 wrap of twisted 28 will probably give you about a 1.5ohm. Numbers and I don't get along, so I will go back to being very silent and pretending that I didn't hear the question.
  9. Twisted wires are great, they add flavor due to the excess amount of coil for the juice to cling to. Just make sure you twist it in consistent tension and you should be fine. I use 32gauge, but others have used the thicker (lower) gauges with success. (30, 28, ) If you're not sure how many wraps you'll need for your preferred resistance, just wrap an extra coil or two then you normally do. The coils are easier to remove, impossible to add unless you recoil. The easiest way to achieve consistent tension is by using the drill on low speed.. If you don't have a chuck, you can use a coat hanger.
  10. Phil does a great job of sharing 3 various ways to prep your wick and wrap your coils. Enjoy!

    New to RBA's?

Phil has continued his homework! Here are two new vids and in the 2nd one he teaches 3 different ways to prepare the wick and coil. Both worth watching for insights. Part 1 Part 2
  12. That's a good question, and would be fun to experiment to see just how long we can boil them for. My guess would be there is no limit, because SS is built to handle. But, I don't "know". Most peeps boil for about 20 minutes, changing the water every 5 minutes. Scrub the SS with soap and water first, rinse thoroughly, then boil/change/boil/change (have a teapot of hot water handy or a revolving microwave bowl), and boil until you feel it's as clean as it's ever going to be. With that said, some don't boil at all, some boil for 5 minutes, some for 20, ... Some say that boiling oxidizes, some say it doesn't... (oxidize is always the wrong word for what we do, but it's the only word we got for now).

    Roller Mod

Good find!! Bummers they're sold out at the moment too. Atmizoo tries to put new ones up every week, so be sure to check their announcements regularly. SWEET! The Vaperev store not only has a newsletter to sign up for, but they have the "notify me when product is in" button, both found on the product itself detail page. Good luck guys!! P.S. To Ninja one, be sure to sign up ahead of time, put one in your cart or wish list, and hit that buy button as soon as you get the notification.

    Roller Mod

I believe today (Saturday) was a new batch on the shelf too lol. Go figure! If I remember right, I think Vape Revolution, in Las Angeles carries the Roller for them. I'll check tomorrow when the sun comes back up. They might have an online store now, they used to just be brick and mortar (B&M).

    Roller Mod

That is a very nice one! My next one will be the matte finish too. The polish isn't that bad fingerprint wise, (until you capture it in photo lol), and doesn't drive one ocd crazy like most polished mods do, but even so, because I already have a shiney, my next one will be matte. haha, I'll be here! or close by! (I use solar power, so I kinda keep the same hours as the sun lol). Ask away! If I don't know the answer, I'll hunt it down for ya! No problem. I love reasons to go Roller surfing.

    Roller Mod

It's everything you like about it and more, you'll love it! It's actually more popular than you hear about. You hear about the other ones more often, because they are either newer or because you can only find them on lists (like the sweet Caravella mod). Also, for a short while, they needed their updates, which put a hold on the fever. Some of the people couldn't wait for an update, while others couldn't bother with updating, and still others couldn't figure out how to do it right. Even so, a lot of the collectors now have them AGAIN... these are people who buy the newest latest and greatest, try them out, trade them (or sell them to raise the money) for the next newest latest greatest mod on the market. They are adamant about trying out every new item that comes on the market. However, selling or trading the Roller seems to always leaves regrets until they get a new one. They have become so popular, they now sell out in record time. Trust me, they're popular, especially now that the new ones all have the updates provided. Atmizoo has a facebook page where they announce the next batches to be released. You can find it also on the bottom of their Atmizoo.com page. They have a Blog on their site too, to keep peeps updated with tutorials, news, and all Atmizoo related things. They have a FAQ too, and videos, and... well, they have the best ... I mean THE BEST!! customer service anywhere ever. Plus they help posters in the various threads across the net. Which one are you going to get? Matte? Polished? Combo? Dingo? Roller? LOL, I'm so excited for you!! They are a dream to use, a real pleasure. You can't go wrong with a Roller.
  17. Very nice daily mods! I still use my Mark's Mod on Sundays, but otherwise, these are my daily mods. The Vamo I use for quick checking of resistance, and the Spinner I use for quick refills when I'm too busy to refill the gennys atm. BAM with DID20 Poldiac with Gemini Roller with Mini DID14 Vamo with IGO-L Spinner with VivaNova Soon, the Silver Bullet will be added, and one omitted, as I venture outside more. I like the SB for my back jean pocket when working outside all day.
  18. I would recommend purchasing a large 200ml bottle of 18mg non-flavored juice and a whole bunch of various flavors from various brands. (capella, FlavourArt, etc), until you find your flavor and your mix. Oh, and don't forget to have lots of extra 10ml bottles on hand... and a labeler... and some clear tape,... and a journal...

    Roller Mod

It just dawned on me that I never got around to posting Scott's review on the DINGO/ROLLER. The review is centered around the Dingo (small 18350 size without the telescoping powers of the Roller), but he touts the Roller just as highly. Check it out. Oh, and by the way, after all this time, the Roller is still my top favorite mod ever.

    RSST

The RSST is the latest clone, has anyone tried it yet? It is a copy of the AC9, except of course, it's cheaper materials. (and not as safe or long lasting I would assume). So far, I've heard that they're not good for the avg chain vaper, because the cap is thin and overheats quickly. But for the non-chain vaper, they should be adequate I would think. It's pretty costly, around 40 bucks, unless bought from a coop, for a disposable China genny, but if we like how it sets up, tastes, and what not, then journeying into the better quality original AC9 will be a confident journey I would imagine. It's worth keeping an eye on, over the months ahead, keeping track of the updates for it. Dontcha just hate it when something is touted as fantastic, but later discover all the kinks, quirks, flaws and even epic fails. If it were 15 bucks, I'd give this a try. But 40? Shoot, that's halfway to a true SS original genuine modders atty. I'm rambling here, but those are my thoughts so far. What are yours?
  21. Try putting it in an Ultra Sonic cleaner for the 3 minute run. We use those for our mesh wicks, genny cleanings, heck some are even using it to steep their juices.

    Aga-T+ (Aka V2)

haha, this just makes my day. Isn't it great being self-sufficient despite whatever the world may be tossing at us at any given moment? FDA, ANTI's, TAX man, ... you name it. Y If your flavor wanes with the twisted coil, just wrap and dangle a slice of silica rope and you're good to go again. Flavor wanes are strange, but they happen, even with the store bought (usually vapor wanes with those the worst). At least with the RBA, we can tweak, adjust, experiment, until we're happy. Can't do that with the store bought! (but, we still need a stock pile of store bought for those awful bad RBA days that everyone goes through now and then).
  23. Try running straight vg (non-flavored) through it, or you can try giving it a vodka (everclear) bath, or even a vinegar bath. (have fun getting rid of the vinegar flavor though lol).
  24. Straight from Greece at MMVapors.com http://mmvapors.com/the-temon/160-atomizer-the-temon-d16.html They arrive in 3 days with their fast shipping (20 bucks) or you can email them and have them send it snail mail for 3 bucks which will arrive in about 2-3 weeks. (a few days to get to New York, and then a week or two or three sitting in NY customs dept, and then finally, out for delivery, which takes a few hours to a few days to a week more). It has a 3ml tank I believe, plus the wickhole is a 3.5mm size! Great little atty and almost always in stock. Sign up for their newsletter while you're at the site, plus keep track of your order number for their special Lotteries.
  25. That's crazy wild, Mark!
