  1. OMG!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!! Such great news!!!!!
  2. They're (N.Y.) sneaking a vote tomorrow to tax ecigs and smokeless tobacco at 94% tax increase. (read the thread I'll post for the pertinent & correct info). Email, FAX, write, call right away! http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/casaa/419722-call-action-new-york-bill-impose-95-tax-e-cigarettes-smokeless-tobacco-b-7106-a.html
  3. The Mesh Company has announced they now have a new webpage dedicated to us Vapers in order to make our shopping easier and funner. No more confusion guys! They handle mesh, wire, cable, etc, and they will give a lifetime discount to forum members. (I think every vaping forum is included, but if not, then mention ecf I guess. Most of us visit if not play there too, so it's not sneaky lol). Here's the new site: http://www.vape-atomizer-mesh.com/index.html
  4. Oh yes! The Kanger T2 is a good one too. My bad, I totally forgot to mention it. Good catch! Oh! and The Veteran Vaper is an excellent (over and beyond excellent) vendor to deal with. He'll treat you right.

Aren't they amazing Danpio! I'm going to change one of mine out this week to attempt the new SS cable method. Looks and sounds so easy to do. It's good to hear your update, I'm so glad you're enjoying it still, like I am. Speaking of wick and wire, the Mesh Company has now a dedicated website just for us Vapers!!! This will make it so much easier to pick out the right stuff, plus to shop all in one place. If you mention you're a forum member, you'll get a lifetime discount too. Here's the new FOR VAPERS site: http://www.vape-atomizer-mesh.com/index.html
  6. Like the posters mentioned above, the eCig comes in various power strengths as well as various battery life lengths. You can get wispy ones or you can get ones that will blow your lungs out. The Vision Spinner that was mentioned is one that will let you power on through from almost wispy (a little stronger than most wispys), to strong (but not as strong as a mod is that is dedicated to strong). Well worth the money. But get 2 so that you can charge one while you're vaping one. Oh, PS! Be sure to pair it with a Viva Nova V2 clearomizer thingie or an Evod or a Protank. (get one of each and see for yourself which one you'd like to get more of. The Viva has a tighter draw than the protank for instance).

!!!!!~Congrats MSE~!!!!! That's a lot of wonderful things to celebrate, I'm so happy for you!! You've been greatly missed here I hope you know. Now I feel selfish for all the foot tapping I've been doing while waiting for you show up again. (honest!). You can bet I'll get one or two of these now. I'm so glad you're liking it! I think this one might be a good one to stash away for IRL newbies who are short on atties during the apocalypse. (and of course, for me to play with too).

Right on. I'll probably be buying one sometime too then. Sounds great!
  9. Put a large o-ring over the airholes, or plug most of the holes with something like broken off toothpick or fimo or something?
  10. A short will cause an awful metallic taste. A dry wick will cause an awful painful metallic taste. You might have both problems! Try doing the Reo Squonk, to test for wicking. Cover the airhole with your finger, take a dry draw (do not press the button of your mod), suck the juice up the wick. Now take a drag. If it's good, and non-painful, your wick needs to be improved for the juice to climb. If there is still a metallic taste, there is still a short somewhere in your coil. Probably from the scraped wick. I would retorch, your wick, recoil, squonk test. For hot coil testing, see if any coils turn red when you push the button. WET coils should never turn red if there is not a short. If your wick is wet and you have a red coil, you have a short! I assume you know how to scoot the coil with a toothpick, and sort out hotspots? If not, watch PBusardo's AHA NOW I GET IT tutorial videos.
  11. oops, forgot to express the other important details of why I like an RBA. The RBA allows me to be self sufficient. This is important in times of bans, threats, financial ruin, customs hold ups, FDA and Politicians. As long as I have wire and wick, I'm good to go. The RBA is made for experimenting. I can use 28, 30, 32 gauge wires, regular or twisted, or even the Flat Ribbon wire. I can use SS mesh wick, Hemp wick, SS cable wick, Silica, Ceramic, Cotton, and Gawd Knows What Else We Come Up With To Try. The RBA can also be direct dripped as long as one remembers to replace the cap first. ouch. Okay, I think that covers it for now lol.
  12. The Viva Nova certainly is a great little disposable. It has lots of vapor, doesn't mute most flavors, and is easy to refill. I use one occasionally. Mostly though, I use the RBA type of atomizer with tank. These are built for everyday use for a lifetime. The only things that need replacing are the wire and mesh (or silica/hemp/cable/etc) and sometimes, every few years, the insulators. (I've had mine a year and haven't had to replace mine yet). My favorite is the D14-Mini DiD by MMVapors, but that will probably change after I get the D16-Temon from the same maker. That seems to be the typical reaction of those who have the entire series plus even other brands in their stable. MMVapors is the only place these are available, to date. VapeRev might carry them eventually or soon. Why do I like them? They are SS, safe for all liquids. They are easy to set up, they are always in stock (out for very short periods of time), are affordable, top quality insulators and materials, all parts are always in stock, they produce vapor like nobody's business, the cap never falls off, the maker is the sweetest guy ever, and it's just a great atty for the money. Everything is precisely drilled, it has the largest wickhole per base capital than is imaginable, the wickhole is close to the posts, the airhole is precisely drilled to line up with the wick... everything about it is topnotch. And it's not tossable. And if I want to vape real essence tobacco juice that clogs up the atty, it's easy to clean, or to recoil. Plus it's pocket friendly. The tank never separates from the body, it never leaks juice all over my pocket or purse. It can take a beating and go on ticking. It's ... made me a fangirl! I've been a fangirl for 11 months now and don't regret a single moment of it. Can't wait to get the Temon D-16 to finish my collection. haha, yeh right, finish the collection lol. The D-22 will be coming out soon too. oi!

Great points Will! Rixter!! You got yours!!. How are you liking it?? (I'm not receiving notifications to threads again grrr).
  15. They're mouthpieces that are more comfortable for use. They come in many shapes and sizes to suit. Some you can direct drip your juice through, while some are just for mouth comfort such as the whistle drip tip styles, but you can remove the DT and still direct drip your juice and then just snap right back into place.. Some let more vapor through than others do, too, because of the way the body itself is shaped. That's another story for another day though. But yes, sometimes it's the DT used, and not the atty/carto that hampers/improves performance.
  16. Yes, it will work, just not as thoroughly. Try it, and lest us know the outcome.
  17. All mods require maintenance, such as the cleaning of the contacts, springs, buttons, etc.. Rhodium plating allows you to go for longer intervals between cleanings, according to rumor. Brass is a bi-weekly chore, to assure great hard working contacts. Silver is a weekly chore, but hits the hardest out of all of the above, so well worth it. The key word, is "you". You have to be willing and confidant to clean your contacts as needed or on a schedule before as needed. The Poldiac and the Roller, both have video instructions at youtube on how to take them apart, clean, and put them back together again. Roller has a great FAQ support pages section at their site, Atmizoo.com and the Poldiac has a forum with lots of helpful people. You'll never be stuck without help from either one of them. They both have threads in many forums, with great posters The Poldiac can be bought with either silver or brass contacts setups, or you can purchase the opposite one and have both. You can also take your contacts/spring to a jeweler and have them either silver or Rhodium plated. The Roller also now offers the 3 choices (brass, silver or rhodium). Would I recommend these to a newbie? Oh heck yes! If you're not ready today, hang on to it, study the threads/video's, and be ready tomorrow. They both hit hard, are lovely to hold, and are fun to dress up or down.
  18. Salt is a palette cleanser.. eating saltine cracker, drinking milk... like the wine tasters do, sometimes helps to restore the tastebuds. Rinsing your mouth with a few tsps of salt in your water might help too. But yuck. Try the saltine with milk. Good luck!
  19. Calif situation is now CRITICAL. We need to hustle to stop this from being passed. Tell everyone you know. http://blog.casaa.org/2013/03/call-to-action-california-e-cigarette.html
  20. haha, obviously I haven't updated my rig in quite a few years. ouch. Thanks Joe, good to see you again too!
  21. I'm in shock that their car lets them charge things when it's turned off. Ours will only charge while it's turned on.

    ohms question

I agree with McQuinn. The size of the wick itself plays an important part in the equation. McQuinn's answer solves that.
