I love the smell of vape in the morning!
Uma replied to Thesheepdog's topic in General Vaping Discussion
Beautifully expressed, Sheepdog! I couldn't agree more. -
LOL, I haven't dropped a battery in months, but I bet as soon as I get a protank I will drop it first thing. Murphy's law and all that. I wonder if ibtanked will have new tanks for these in the future.
-
Once or twice, yes. My batteries charge differently on different wall sockets. I don't know why, but they do. I would remove the tank, press the button over and over, as if you're vaping, until the freshness is wore off. I don't know if your battery is chronically injured or not, you'll have to decide that for yourself and either keep it or toss it if it vapes correctly after the freshness is wore off. If it happens again, toss it. (in a safety bucket/can for batteries until you can drop it off at RadioShack or wherever). Maybe toss it this time. I really don't know.

Over Discharge and Mechanical Mods
Uma replied to ArnieH's topic in Troubleshooting & Technical Issues
Ah, I didn't catch that enough for it to sink in. Your safety fuse and your protected battery are probably canceling each other out. You don't need the added safety fuse with a protected battery. I would remove the fuse, the battery is already protected. -
BCarter, go to the grocers or online to a diy place or to Capella who specializes in water based flavorings (stay away from oil/butter ones). and doctor up the flavors you don't like, with a drop of menthol or spearmint. Or tobacco. Sometimes adding tobacco and letting it steep a week will make any flavor bearable... like an after dinner smoke when the meal was meh. Sometimes you just get a whole bunch of flavored tobacco you hate. lol. But it's worth a shot. I used to doctor up my tobacco flavors by adding banana or apple, and now we can buy them already doctored up. Menthol perks up a flavor. Tobacco hides a flavor. Flavor enhances a tobacco. One drop at a time. (one too many drops will take it in the opposite direction). Hope this helps with your future purchases.

Over Discharge and Mechanical Mods
Uma replied to ArnieH's topic in Troubleshooting & Technical Issues
3.0 is pretty low. That's weird that your mod didn't reduce in oomph as the battery lost it's power. That's one of the things that's great about the Mechanical mod, is that we feel the oomph lessening as the battery gets used up. By the time it hits 3.8 volts, we are pulling them out and replacing with a few hours off the charger 4.1volt battery. At the worst, we'll vape it to 3.3v but it's so wispy we can't stand it. Most of us use the IMR batteries, they are high drain, high amp batteries. Some of us also use the Resettable Safety Fuses... or a Kick. The Kick is a variable watt chip that lets us vape at our preferred wattage until the battery no longer holds enough charge to power the amps, and it will not vape until we change our battery. I use the AW-IMR high drain batteries and really like them. For my 26650 mod, I use the MNKE IMR batteries, and they rock. Genuine MNKE IMR 26650 3500mAh 3.7v Maximum Continuous Discharging Current 20 A Maximum Instantaneous Discharging Current 60 A Maximum Continuous Charging Current 6.5 A Maximum Rated Discharging Current 30 A Nominal Voltage 3.8 V Maximum Charge Voltage 4.2±0.05 V Yours is a new to me problem. I've never yet heard of a battery and a mechanical mod that can handle full power until it's drained that low. That is not good at all. You need to switch something up. I'm not familiar with your orbotronic batteries, and after reading this, I'm not sure I'd want to be! The brand might be good, but your particular battery is not. I would toss it safely and acquire a new one. What is your mod? Summary: I would never discharge a battery lower than 3.3v -
As you browse the various sites, be sure to sign up for their newsletters. They like to send out coupons via newsletters. There is also an eCig Coupon Code data base somewhere online. Just google it. GoodLifeVapor has some good flavors at super reasonable prices, to add to the list you are compiling. Just be sure to use a pyrex type of tank for any flavors with citrus, clove or cinnamon in it. (Kanger ProTank gets rave reviews for the most part). AltCig has the most ridiculously cheap prices, especially when combined with their coupon sales, which they have almost every month. I really like a few of their flavors... Irish Cream and Caramel Cappuccino, for instance. But you might hate those flavors, it's all so subjective. Best thing is to buy small samples, until you know your meh's, your wows, and your yucks.

LOL, talk about overkill! Certainly would need a good unlimited amp mod for that one, with the right batteries to match, like the IMR's.. but even the IMR's are limited. Nahhh, I wouldn't want to go there. As long as the wick hole is large enough, 3mm is great, only one coil is ever needed anyway.

That's great, and you should be fine. Just wipe it out with a twisted paper towel or tp, on a regular basis to keep the connection clean so it can perform beautifully like it was meant to. I forgot the LTv2 has an OHM meter built right in. "Atomizer Ohm Meter: The LAVATUBE Version 2 has an atomizer ohm meter built in, simply press and hold the + button for 5 seconds and it will display the ohm's resistance of the atomizer that is connected to the device." Sweet. To date, the RBA (rebuildable atomizers) are the only attys that don't dribble. (but they do condensate at the air hole). In a few months time, you'll be getting into these too, I'm sure. Just thought I'd start enticing you now bwahhahaaaa

There are so many mods out there now, it's hard to keep track of them all. Worse yet is the clones and then the clones of the clones and then the clones of the clones of the clones. My first guess, is that it's of Swan genetics. It has more swirls than the original Swan, but he might be making them with more swirls. OH, I bet Todd or Scott has a review on youtube! I think GhostModder makes a decent clone of the Swan, unlike most of the other cloners out there. Hopefully you can find the original though. They're beautiful!

I echo your helpers, they're spot on. You have in your hand right now, a 3.7volt battery. If you purchase the eGo Twist, you will now have a battery that can go lower and higher, providing you with a range of ooomph to choose from for every different flavor you have. I have the regular eGo, the eGo Twist and a Vision Spinner or two. The Spinner is a bit easier to read the dial, but I have old tired eyes. The eGo Twist is lighter and just fine for young whippersnappers like the rest of youze. Welcome to the forum, and a huge congrats to you for switching over to the eCigs.

Riva's are a clone of the original eGo, more affordable but not near as well made. Vaping for 6 hours is normal between charges, unless it's a large battery, then you should be getting anywhere from 6-10 hours. (hard to pinpoint when we all vape so differently). The sticky button is unfortunately the most common complaint with the Riva's. I would exchange it right away. They should know about the button and be more than prepared for it. When you can afford it, (which happens overnight once you realize you have enough flavors, attys, and batteries and you don't need to buy any more smokes either), I would invest in the eGo Twist or the Vision Spinner either one. That's not saying they don't have occasional quirksr, but your chances of not getting any are better. The original eGo's will last a good 6 months before needing replacement, but don't be surprised when you're still vaping them a year or more later. Sorry you're having problems, that really sux. (but that's life, even in the world of vaping. Fortunately, the Vendors and posters usually more than make up for it).

Sweet! Is the mouthpiece comfortable enough? I've often been tempted to pick one up. Congrats on your new set up!!

I got the T3 little s. Is there a T3 big S? Is the T3littleS the improved T2little or the T2bigS or just a T2 or none of the above? Is the T3bigS the improved T3littleS or is the T3littleS the improved over the T3withoutanS? Is there a doctor in the house?

Thank you thank you thank you!! I so hope the ones I just purchased for someone else don't have problems. I get T2s and T2S mixed up, I haven't a clue which ones I bought... oh wait, I can go read the nice print out complete with pictures they sent me. doh. ok. panic is leaving. breathe!

Good find!! Thanks for posting this.

All these sound-alike brands/styles, numbers and abbreviations give me such a headache. I'm so glad I discovered the RBA's a few years ago. lol. Just when I've gathered enough info on a product that's great for taking to the bar, or for getting newbies started up nicely, I run across threads and videos full of gripes and fixes. Then I have to go back to all the newbies who trusted what I had set them up with, and explain how to fix them. I hate hype. Man oh man, Why can't life be simpler? Now the eVod coils that vapers like to put on their protanks to stop the gurgling, are changing. They aren't making those same eVod coils anymore. Does this mean the fix for the protank will also be changing again? oops, I'm ranting. lol. But, seriously, when does this ever stop? I feel so sorry for the vendors too, who were stuck purchasing the promised land, only to see V45 come out within a week. Is the T2 the same thing as the T2S? Does the T2S leak like the T2? Or do I have that backwards? Is there a one that doesn't need a fix? What should I set the noobie up with? I can't go telling a newbie to take it apart and fix it with an extra silica they don't happen to have on hand... I mean, really. I''d really like some honest to goodness honest products to recommend and honestly, I don't know what they are. I didn't mean to rant in this thread, but seeing as how the FIX is a topic, ...

Right on BeBop! Welcome to the club. CE's post is spot on. Most of the wires, wicks, etc.. can be found at most vendors these days... but usually they are tiny spools at almost the same price as the larger spools you'd get off ebay or anywhere. But, they're handy for trying the various sizes and types. Any leftovers can be twisted together into a rope for a SS cable rope wick, so it's never a waste of money tbf. Some of the vendors you might have best of luck with are: Kidney Puncher Stormy's Vapor Cellar Discount Vapers and so on and so on. Also, if you know what you like and want to get humongous amounts of stuff, another good place is: The Vape Mesh Company (they toss in an extra sheet of mesh when you purchase one too, pretty cool.) Have fun!!

Jeff's correct. I got my last batch from VapingWatch. Join FB for their updates and announcements. They are committed to getting a batch out every week, of all MadMurdocks flavors, including the cutters. (I believe a precentage of his Agent Orange goes towards Vet's who suffered from that). The zero-nic cutter is strong enough to be cut with your own unflavored nic base.

Glad it helped! Yes, it's a way bit long, but all the info is worth the watch, and he painstakingly makes sure no beats are missed. Very nice video indeed.

Excellent tip tutorial CE!! The washer tip also excels on the AGA-T-+ series, for those who have those. Good note on making sure the mod is high amp enough to handle the sub-zero ohms too. That's where the mechanical mods excel. Most of the regular mods are only 2.5 amp, so be sure to check yours before using any ohms below 1.1

Right on!!! +1 what Rixter just said. The better your coils get, the better the flavor. The biggest joy is, like you said, being self reliant when it comes to your vaping habit. Heck with customs, fda, senator antz, or taxes. WTG!!! Be sure your airhole is lined up with your wick, and when you vape, make sure the airhole is facing either the floor (for SS mesh RBA's), and anywhere you discover it's a good place to be without leaking but still get a good wet hit, with the RDA's. (take note of where the airhole is when you get that perfect vape). Welcome to the whole new world of self reliant vaping. Between your DIY mixes and your DIY atty, ... all that's left is your DIY mod. (you're on your own there, I still need to learn how lol)

Any Movie/show Watchers Out There?
Uma replied to twelveday's topic in The Vape Lounge - Off Topic Chat
That is a good one, I agree. It's another I didn't catch from the Pilot on, but between Wiki and stuff, I wasn't too lost during the one season I did watch. Easy one to jump into, but not out of.
