  1. I've been using one pretty steadily for 3 weeks now and no problems. I love these!
  2. that's an awful article. Very easily misconstrued. "The FDA has sent letters to five manufacturers of electronic cigarettes warning that they are in violation of federal law by claiming their products help smokers quit. In order to make such claims, the e-cigarettes would need to be approved by the FDA as drug-delivery devices, the agency said. None are." That's like saying they're not worth beans and all just a big lie and if they really worked then they would be approved like they do all the weight loss pills. "No e-cigarette company has submitted an application to the FDA for evaluation or approval, the agency said, although the devices meet the definition of a drug-device product under the Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FDCA)." No ecig company has 800 million dollars to have the tests done so they can submit it. The lawyers got all the money from the only ecig company that stood a chance at affording the testing. (surprise surprise). and then they have the nerve to bring up the antifreeze crappioly .... edited to include: But hey! There's a "CHOOSE A RATING" thingie for this article at the end of the article
  3. Yes, when you open the box you'll find some prefilled carts inside individual pkgs, an extra ego battery, and an ego battery with cone, atty and blank (empty) cart on it, plus your charger, and the extra atty. Charge up one of the batteries, (it will take about 20 minutes because they arrive 3/4 charged). While it's charging, twist the cone off the other one and remove the empty cartridge. (the atty twists, the cart pops). Open a prefilled one, and pop that onto your atty. (I assume they still arrive this way). Retwist your cone cover back on and take a slow (really slow) drag. Don't inhale. Don't inhale for the first 3 or 4 drags. (the primer on the atty isn't very tasty). Now fill your mouth with the vapor, take a small inhale and blow out. (if you're like me, you'll laugh yourself in a tizzy over coughing like it's your first cig ever). If you want, you can first remove the atty, blow gently through it onto a napkin, to remove the primer. The primer is actually a good thing though... it's vg and helps to safeguard your atty from dryness and it also helps to produce a tad bit extra vapor. (remember this for later... you can prime your own with your own VG anytime after you clean it). Sounds like a lot when it's typed out. It's not really. If it tastes awful, just do some more primer puffs ( like as if you didn't get your cig lit right) and move your better tasting eliquid through the atty. Memorize how your prefilled cart looks before puffing, so you'll know what it should look like when you refill it. (no puddles, just sparkly sponge look). Refill as needed. Don't worry, you'll be checking that cart often at first lol. How's it look after 3 puffs lol. How about now after 6? 10? It's normal, and it's all good. You'll notice when the vapor drops off a little (or suddenly improves like mad), then it's time for a refill. so much easier done than said.
  4. edited to delete misplaced post. Weird. How did that happen??
  5. It's a shame that a few companies are trying to ruin it for the rest of the bunch. (hmmm, anyone ever watch an espionage movie...?) But, at least, from what I've seen, they do advertise what's in their product: http://www.e-cig.com/shopping/shopdisplayproducts.asp?id=19&cat=Healthcare+E-Liq It's not hidden... I agree it shouldn't be in there, but it's not a hidden additive... which is something many of us at one time or another secretly fret about. DIY rocks! But even then...
  6. good find Nana!! For pockets, I use a keychain buddy from msTsBakery for my batteries, atty and small ejuice. A small candy container for my prefilled cartomizers. (fire and ice round one to be precise, and an altoids tin as well for when I need to carry more) A soft eyeglass case with the foam covered cardboard divider thingie in it for resting my fully set up eGo. (easy to open velcro and it's a nice snug fit) With that said, I am awaiting my first ego zippered case and I hope it will fit in pocket. Will know any day now. I would imagine, for a behind the desk type situation, that a shaving kit bag would work great (as mentioned). You can tuck it away in a file drawer if needed. One of those would hold your PT and extra battery chargers as well... and be easy to commute with if not filed away. good luck with finding what works best for you, and be sure to share and let us know. There's always somebody in the same boat.
  7. You might like these Nana. I sure do and I'm not too excited about the regular 510 cartos. So far, so good for me. They don't produce tons of vapor, but they're consistant for when you're on the go all day. (or just don't want sticky fingers at the keyboard). Try some prefilled ones from Janty or GoodProphets etc and see if they're for you before going the extra step to fill your own.
  8. were those companies hiding their additives from the public or were they advertised for what they were?
  9. "We are interested in finding out whether e-cigarettes can be proven safe and effective," FDA compliance lawyer Michael Levy said in a conference call." Okaaay, I don't get it. In order to find one bad apple or questionable apple, one needs to sort through the entire barrel of apples. Where are the stats on all the good apples they tossed aside in their haste to find a questionable apple? Aren't they having to do "tests"? Show us the test results of the ones they tossed aside. . grrrrrr. I agree, I only want a safe as can be product, or at least a warning list for informed choices. Where's our choices? Why are they "banning" instead of just coming out with "warning: this product might make you horney, unhorney, fat or skinny, happy or sad..." like they do the mile long warnings on tv and radio commercials. dbl grrrrrrrrrrrr I better go get my old dog avatar back, she has a meaner growl than I do
  10. They need these SB's on the frontline. The battery lasts for days, the button doesn't accidentally depress in the pocket, and there is no LED light to unstealth a stealty user. They have battery holders that don't take much room in the backpack either. When my ship comes in, I'm going to send a bunch of these babies to the frontline soldiers. and a bunch of eGo's to those stuck behind the desks and steering wheels...
  11. Did you take off the empty cart and replace with a filled cart before using? (why oh why they don't include that necessary tip in the instructions I;ll never know). (don't be offended if you did, I'm just asking to be sure and also to let lurkers or newbies know to do that. I didn't do that when I got mine, and back then they were using a nice primer that even tasted ok.
  12. lol, well I'll be darned! Thanks for the tip! I've a stack waiting for me to refill later today and I'm going to try that.
  13. Kudos to Bruce at COV! He certainly went above and beyond to help you out with this. That e2 company better help him out or they'll be hearing from all of us. Glad you got one to work! Thanks for keeping us updated with this.
  14. My apologies are in order. I didn't intend for my rambling to be taken personally... it was not aimed at anyone in particular. I was trying to express the idea for in general. It's a great idea... when in the proper hands. Let's say Bluuueeeeieee ecigs uses this technique and we can get all our joye510 attys for free for life... lol... totally way out there example... but... My apologies if you thought I was talking about you or anyone here.
  15. Yep, you got it. Those who make their own mods are well ahead of the game, especially if they're also stocked up on attys, cartos, and nicotine. Hopefully someone will begin making attys full speed ahead. Carlos of Carlos Juice Box makes his own attys... so we know it's do-able. I've never seen "instructions" for it though that doesn't mean there aren't any. All the connectors and such can also be engineered in a good machine shop... but what a hassle unless you have an "in" with one. There might never be a ban. The FDA, biased senators, hate-crime fanatics, just might decide to take a hike and leave us be. But until the fight is won, we need to stock up what we can... and try to go nic free. (these pv's are great devices for allowing us to do so though, thank God).
  16. I've gotten that from dripping too... awful! with the carto's, make sure you give them a hefty thermometer shake... but be careful where it flys out to. Some cartos are quite airy and they fling an old dog stream.
  17. Really? Bummer. I had it made in the shade with our new healthy diet... cheerios, special k, shredded wheat, etc .... which meant no more cooking! off to pout with a cuppa HOT green tea :P
  18. You probably already know this, but in case a lurker or another newbie doesn't, I want to stress this point: KEEP ALL ELIQUIDS AWAY FROM CHILDREN AND PETS.
  19. How frustrating to spill a bottle! Being a spiller type B person myself, I've been setting a paper towel inside a small square casserole dish, then setting my needle, electronic screwdriver, eliquid, empty cartos and their tips, inside of it. I've had "close calls" with spills but because of the safety feature of the dish, not a drop has been spilled yet. If the safety dish weren't in place, it would be all over the house, trust me.
  20. They have the BabyJ in the works... the eGos big brother. Been in the works for quite awhile ... along with the Tesla Filter...
  21. here's a link to a thread with a video in it http://www.vaportalk.com/forum/forum/forum/topic/7500-refilling-ego-mega-cartomizer/page__pid__68511#entry68511
  22. how long does it take to charge it and how long will it hold it's charge when not being used?
  23. EGo are smart batteries .. like protected batteries. You might have one of the rare duds. I would send it back and have them send new one.
  24. Have You tried the ego mega carto? O really like mine
