I think you got it. You don't have to be a mathematician to DIY but you do know how to count or measure in one way or another only to be able to make the same thing again. We all know how much a half or a quarter looks like in any size bottle and the flavor ingredients are usually less than a quarter. Especially with tobacco flavors or other strong flavors like clove, cinnamon, menthol, etc. when you only need a couple of drops per 3ml or less than 5%. My method of using twice the strength of unflavored base and filling the bottle half way first is sure fire way of making sure that the nic level will be what I want. Then a few drops of this and a few drops of that until it is 3/4 full and then top it of with VG. I don't even measure anything some of the time and I get great results. Good luck with your creations!

Uma, you can mix without a calculator once you know a few facts about your flavors and if you are always mixing the same amount. If you are making 3ml samples then 20% flavor would be about 1/2 ml or about 12 drops. When you mix a combination of flavors you still don't want to go much more than that. There are some flavors that take much less to deliver a good flavor level. As far as nicotine level is concerned, if you are using unflavored 18mg and have 20% flavor then the nic level will be 12mg in the end. If you are using a strong flavor and only need 5% then the nic level will be closer 18mg. If you want the nic level at 12mg and your only using a couple of drops of flavor then you can put a few drops of VG or PG without nic to make up the difference. An easy way of mixing so you always have the same amount of nicotine is to always use the same amount of unflavored base. So, in a 3ml bottle always use 2.5ml of base and you will always get 12ml in the end. That .5ml left over is about 20% and most flavor combos use that amount. If the flavor level is to strong then use less flavor but make up that extra space with vg. You can do the same thing with 24mg base, just only use half(1.5ml) to get 12mg in the end. Still use somewhere around .5ml of flavor and the rest vg. You can use more than 20% of flavor in some cases and in some cases less, this is just about knowing your flavors and how strong they are and you're personal preference. Multiple flavors and and single flavors can tweeked to your liking by adding more or less and it's a lot like cooking. Don't forget when you make something special that you can double, tripple, or x10 the recipe and make yourself a BIG bottle! ----and don't forget to share with us

I just made some plain banana nut bread juice and it's pretty good all by itself. I'm gonna have to take some of this and experiment with it. I made 25mls of it so I got plenty to mess around with. I think the Bavarian Cream will go well with this. I'll have to look though my stuff to find some other possibilities also.

Yeah, there are easier ways to DIY. One method I would use is to purchase unflavored PG in double the strength of what I would be vaping and when I mix I would know that I would use 50% of that in the final mix. That leaves me room for flavor and VG. ----Flavoring makes up anywhere from 5% to 25% (depending on the flavor or combinations of) and the rest can be VG. There are many other ways to DIY and other places to purchase supplies also. The VG at Walmart is good. It is sold as skin protectent, it is 99.5% pure and USB and is clearly marked as Glycerin. You can also use a food grade glycerin that you might find sold locally. Both pharmaceutical and food grade Glycerin work equally as well and there it is debatable which one is better suited for vaping. Walmart or other stores in your area might sell Cappella"s and/or Lorann food flavoring which many flavors are great for vaping. Let us know when you make a winner. I just made a good one and it's simple: 50% unflavored 24mg pg 20% Capella Banana Nut Bread 30% VG This is 12mg and 70/30 pg/vg.

Hello Eric. Welcome to VT. Vaping is an adventure and there is nothing better than leaving those stinkies behind.

The one on my android that I use, thanx to kit, is called eLiquid Recipe Manager Lite. I like this one the best, it's so convenient and easy to use.

Try this in a 3ml bottle: 6 drops of Banana Nut Bread 2 drops of Banana Cream 2 drops of Marshmallow 2 drops of Cotton Candy fill the rest (about 2.5 ml) with 18mg pg This should taste like a very sweet banana desert.

I also drilled a few holes in the side of the plastic cup holder in my truck....

rtsvapes.com is where I usually get my nic(because it was the best deal $$$ I could find) and they also have the French pipe flavor that I like.

I've seen some creative e-cig holders and carrying cases. I'd like to use this thread to describe or picture an image of what is out there. You can purchase accessories on line but the best ones are homemade. Here are a couple of mine. I still need to make a special place for my eGo on my carpenter's tool belt but my street bike already had the perfect spot.

Caramel Covered Apples 3 ml FlavourArt Apple pie (12%) 3 ml Capella Caramel (12%) .5 ml Cotton Candy/EM (2%) 6.25 ml VG (25%) 4.5 ml 100mg unflavored PG (this will make a final strength of 18mg) 7.75 mg PG (no nic) This makes 25ml of juice and it is yummy!!! I have been using 100mg to do my mixing but it can easily be converted to use 60mg or 36mg unflavored base. 100mg can be a bit dangerous so keep safety in mind if you use a strong base.

Not sure what kind of clearos you're talking about but I'm sure it's good. Vision has some good stuff. I still swear by the Kanger T2 clearos also known as eGo changeable coil clearos. To me they seem to be the easiest to fill and use and to change coils when necessary. They work equally as well with my eGo batteries, VV mods and Vision spinner batteries.

I sometimes use EM to bring out a flavor and add sweetness but I hate the taste of it when too much is added. I'm not sure how much is too much so I only use about 2% so I don't get that taste that I don't like. I wouldn't know if it would add moisture but if some DIYers think it does then maybe there is some kind of truth behind it. I only have heard it to be used to sweeten things up. Maybe a couple drops of distilled water could help also, I'm not sure but I think both are worth a try.

I make a lot of different juices for myself and I have noticed that some flavors/mixes do change, get better, or become stronger with a few days of age. Sometimes they are fine immediately after I shake them up and days later there is no noticeable change but some recopies I can definitely notice and/or can expect a change in taste after a few days. I usually do the hot water thing to help get everything "together". I'm not sure why but sometimes it does take a few days for a juice to "stabilize".

I agree that VG helps in this area and that's another reason I use it in all my juices. I tend to use everything PG based but I always use about 25% straight VG in the final mix. I don't have to add water or alcohol or anything else and that's what works for me.

Bakery flavors are a nice change of pace. Pineapple upside-down cake from Sweet-Vapes is very tasty. Other good flavors are Apple Pie, Cinnamon Danish, Bavarian Cream, and a whole lot of Coffee variations just to name a few. Also, you have to keep trying different tobacco flavors from different suppliers and you might find a few more that you really like and you know you can always go back to turkish or ry4 later. A flavor might seem different to you after a long time without it and it fun to go back to one from before. I don't know about you but I can't live with just one flavor. I usually have 2 or 3 e-cigs with me at all times not only for backup but for a flavor choice. I do vape the tobacco flavors the most but I couldn't go without some of the exotic ones. Don't hesitate to try anything, you just might like it.

Question 1. Yes, you can use different types of flavoring but not all are going to give good results. Most of the flavorings I use contain artificial and/or natural flavors, PG and not much else but sometimes contain small amounts of water, alcohol, and so on. There are some ingredients that are un-friendly to attys and cartos but I can't give you a complete list off the top of my head; for instance you shouldn't use any anything that contains sugar or honey. Most of the flavorings I use (Lorann's, FlavourArt, Cappellas, FlavorWest, Perfumers Apprentic, CK products, Tasty Puffs) are fairly strong and sometimes very strong and it depends on the flavor. A very strong flavor might only need 2%-5% in the final mix but most fall into 15%-20% range. If a flavor requires more than 25% to flavor a DIY recipe it probably is diluted to the point where it is no good for vaping. Question 2. There are flavors that add sweetness without changing the original flavor much or sometimes enhance it. Cotton candy and Marshmallow are 2 examples. Ethol Maltol(EM) is the ingredient in cotton candy and it is what a lot of us use. I've also used suclarose. I know to use these in small amounts because too much will ruin a recipe. VG may add a bit of sweetness along with more vapor, this is why I like to use some in all my juice but I prefer mostly PG. Question 3. You can get a better TH by using a bit of menthol flavoring. As for extracting your own nicotine, well that sounds like tricky business and I don't think it can be done safely without proper testing equipment and knowledge. I've extracted a tea and tobacco flavoring by heating leaves in PG but I wasn't trying to extract nicotine and I don't think that I got much if any out but I was able to get a diluted flavoring that was usable.

I prefer Kanger clearos, preferably the 2nd generation T2, aka eGo 2.4ml CC Long Wick (Changeable Coil) Clearomizer. An eGo outer thread adapter is necessary.

I like the idea of a chat room but it probably wouldn't get used very much. How about setting up a video chat for a few hours one day a week? I don't know if that is possible but if a live chat/video chat was available at a scheduled time this would ensure that a lot of members would show up.

Starter Kits vs "Custom" Set Ups for a New User
Mike replied to Nawzlew's topic in General Vaping Discussion
I've used the Twist for a long time and just recently got a Spinner. They work and feel exactly the same right down to the button and they use the same charger. The Spinner is a little smaller for same amount of mah which is a plus. Also it is much easier to read the numbers(volts) on the Spinner. The starter kit that Jeff pointed out is really good, vaping doesn't get much better than that. I use that setup regularly. -
The video chat was pretty cool and so was the old school chat room but I wouldn't say that I could use it very much.

Hi kjsjaa. It's been about 3 1/2 years for me and I'm still learning. So much much new stuff out there I can't keep up but I know what works for me. That would be a large battery and a clearomiser. I use several different kinds of both.
-
For your next battery you should look at the Vision Spinner. It is nearly the same as the eGo twist and you can use the same charger. The Vision Spinner 900mah is just a little bit longer than the twist 650mah. I personally don't like anything to long like the twist 1000mah so I always get the 650 but now that I have a Vision 900 I think I might like this one the best. Another thing is you can actually see the numbers when your trying to dial in a certain voltage.

I have decided to no longer vape.
