The Post About Nothing/everything Thread
Mike replied to bamsbbq's topic in The Vape Lounge - Off Topic Chat
3 whole days without my kids. They are on a camping trip with their school. -
I have a couple of 2.5 ohms that work very well and I of the 2.0 that works well. I have very good luck with all my stuff with the exception of these clearos. I will still enjoy the ones I have that work great but I'll be looking at other options next time.

I'd feel a little funny vaping in places where cig smokers are not allowed to so I don't or just sneak a toot here or there. As for the ER, they wanted me to stick around for a while and I said I would and if they don't mind if I step out for a minute to vape. He said go ahead and puff on that right here. So I did. At the Mall where smoking has been banned for a number of years is another place where a security cop told me it was ok to use e-cigs but I've never seen people vaping there. There are very few vapers that I notice anywhere around here and rules or laws are not clear to vapers or business owners, it depends on who your talking to at the time.

I finally got a good one! I've been buying these things a couple at a time from different sites. The draw on these vary and I've had a couple that were a little stiff. I had a couple that the vapor seemed to be extra warm like blu was saying, more than a couple that were not producing good vapor or didn't seem to be wicking fast enough, etc. I just received the last 2 that I'll be getting. I would have quit sooner but I wanted to try the long wick V2. The first one I opened had a poor vapor performance and was just like most of the others. Then finally the last one works great. I used it all day yesterday and this morning and if they all could work this good I'd get these all the time. I think in all I had 12 of these and only 3 of them were quality. I still have these 3 and a couple of the less good ones and I gave the rest away. I have to think that quality control is an issue here because there is no way that all these are made equally. I love the ones that work good but I won't be getting these again. 25% success rate is by far the worst I've ever had with a product. Not that the others ones didn't work but they didn't work as well.

Those are standard resistance 510 attys made by SLB, I have had some luck with those in the past but for the most part they stink. The Joytech 510 attys are much better imo and have a sweet spot for me at 4.8v and can be cranked up higher or lower to suit your vaping needs if you have vv. For a kgo or any ego-type battery I would recomend lr attys, lr510, lr306 or lr901 for dripping. . No need for extra voltage with these attys. I have lots of different ways to set up my pv's and don't have a definate favorite.
-
I am most happy with the bridgeless lr901 and drip shield from empiremods. These attys are awsesome and the drip shield I got looks rad and it works. I made this order before I read the previous post so I'm happy to see I'm not the only one who feels this way about them. As for the Visions, well at least 1 of the 2 is working like it should. I haven't had much luck with these. Out of at least 10 I've picked up from many different vendors only 3 of them have worked really well for me.

It is very rare for me to see anyone in my area using e-cigs. I know it is gaining popularity around here and I do have several friends and family members who vape but that's about it. Also I usually work outside and don't do a lot of indoor stuff where places to vape might not be appropriate. I haven't seen anyone else in stores, malls, courthouses or hospitals vape but I do. I had a doctor in the hospital give me permission to vape in the ER, I asked first. 5 minutes later a nurse says a couldn't, 5 minutes later a different nurse says I could. It's wierd like that around here.
-
I vape just about everywhere but I do it discretely. If I'm in a store I'll take a single toot and put it back in my pocket, blow out the vapor when no one is looking and it's over before anyone knows anything. Sometimes someone might see a plume of vapor and do a double take and look confused. If I'm somewhere where people are going outside to smoke I will usually go outside with them to vape. In my county or city, not sure who's law it is, e-cigs are not allowed in work places or anywhere else that smoking is not allowed. Local businesses have been sent a notice last year of this new rule but it is not enforced or even known to exist by most people. I have never been told "you can't do that in here" but I like I said, I don't show it off. A local club owner showed me the notice he got about this when he saw me with an e-cig and in the same breath he said "but I don't care if you use it in here". Places like clubs and restaurants I don't go to much and when I do I rather vape outside anyways and hang out with the smokers.

I had to search to find someone talking about the 901. As you can see the above posts are very old. I've wanted to try the 901 since I started vaping in '09 and I finally have here in May of 2012. It was worth the wait. I picked up 2 of these lr901 attys. They are the bridgeless ones from Empiremods and I don't know if they are SLB or not since it doesn't say so in the description but these things are awesome. Lots of Vapor, more than in Ofortuna's vid, great flavor, very similar dripping experience as the lr306 that I like a lot. Use a standard 3.7 device or set your VV to 3.2 - 3.7 volts and it doesn't get much better than this. I've heard that these attys like to leak a lot but I wouldn't know because I also got a drip shild from those guys at empiremods.

At last count I have over 50 different flavorings many I haven't even got to yet. I DIY my own liquids. I have about 10 small bottles mixed up now ready to use all different flavors. I won't be making any more until I finish a bottle and I have about 4 go to flavors that I use most. 2 different versions of a cigar(backwoods sweet and cuban, Bavarian Cream(recipie from Bam), and Cookies n Cream. The others include apple pie(kitsune's recipie), Tiramisu with a little menthol, Coumarin pipe, Blueberry Cake Donut, to name a few. I make small batches so when they're gone I might re-make them or try something different. I might have a bit of a sweet tooth(my gf still calls me sweet lips) but I don't think I vape too much.
-
Hey matt, Just pick up a lr306 atty and put that on your eGo battery. Some sites will sell these with the drip tip included, you will need this. Just drip and vape. Tons of vapor and flavor, just like high volt vaping, even better imo. Another Idea is to get the twist c variable volt battery. You can set it at 4.8 volts and a standard carto or atty will hit similar to the lr306 I was talking about. I have to use the lr306 on a standard battery or at the lowest setting on the twist c because it's perfect right there and higher is too much. BTW, I think the Visions kinda suck. They need a better juice feed system and a better coil imo. I haven't had much luck with them at any setting.
-
My twist c is working good. I mostly use lr drip attys an lr ego c and they don't need more than the minimum setting, 3.2v. The lr 901 I have is a little higher ohms and I turn that one up a bit. Or if the c tank atty starts to flood I will turn it up to vape it out quickly. It's really convenient to be able to do this and to be able to use SR keeping the dial toward the high end. Still not much luck with the Vision clearos. The new V2's I have are not producing lots of vapor all the time, much like the ones I had before. I've gone through about 10 of these and only a couple of them worked well consistently. I don't think they are getting enough juice or not wicking fast enough. I gave a bunch of these away after I tried them and didn't like 'em. Looks like I'm giving these V2's away also but at least my eGo C has been working good.

Once you have an eGo battery or "clone" that has the same threads you have lots of different choices of cartos, clearos, attys, tanks, etc. that is compatible with it. These accessories can be made by Joyetech, SLB, Kanger, or other companies, usually the atty parts still come from China but there may be other makers of these items today.
-
I'm determined to make the ego c work and it does most of the time but back ups help a lot. Dripping and a simple kr808 works great for me. I've had problems with some clearomisers also but I will make them work for me also. Welcome to Vapor Talk.

http://www.empiremod...tegory_s/21.htm They fit snug on 510, 306 and 901. You'll might need an adaptor depending on which attys your using and you might want the small chrome piece to hide the eGo outer threads. They sell all that stuff too.
-
I think those are only disposable e-cigs. You buy them ready to use and one might last a few hours and you chuck em. Something like that might be good for someone who wants to try e-cigs but I doubt they are a good representation of what vaping is like. Rather than getting disposables you should probably look into rechargeable and refillable ecigs like 510, 901, kr808. I like the Volt for a cig-like e-cig. It is a kr808 and a couple of batteries, charger and 5 cartos come with the kit and some juice to refill and your good for a long time.

Here's a pic. for you. from left to right: 650 mah twist c with 901 to 501 adapter, chrome thread hiding piece, black and chrome Empire Mod hexagonal drip shield(which looks more bad *** than the pic shows) and 901 atty and drip tip 650 mah twist c with eGo c tank and such 1000 mah eGo T with Vision clearo 900 mah eGo T with EMDCC ProVari mini with extension cap for 18490 bat. with sr 510, drip tip and a cheap drip shield that is loose and looks like crap and probably will leak Volt e-cig, small auto battery My stogies are all about the same size with the exception of the Volt but good things come in all sizes and packages.
-
Ditto what Uma says. I've only used the small auto batteries and they are great for hands free vaping and I like having one or two of these with me because I alternate between this and my eGo most of the time. I like tobacco flavors in my Volt and bakery flavors in the eGo. These e-cigs are great for what they are and I was really missing them when both of my batteries failed within a week of each other. They lasted quite a while, at least 3 months so I can't complain. Got 2 new batteries in the mail today so I'll be using it again tomorrow. Smokeless Image is yet another reliable site to get vaping goodies.

I like the older lr type b tank attys and tank carts. They are bigger than ego c, holds about 3 mills, and lasts as long as any good atty does. I've used these for a 8 month stretch and never had any problems like many of us have with ego c. Many sites have these on sale because nobody asks for them anymore. The tank atty is cylindrical not cone shaped and the tank cart has a wider whistle tip. They produce tons of vapor and flavor, The lr ones are quite low res and vapor monsters on an ego battery. I'm still hoping to get the Visions to work for me. I like the shape and the no hassle but I haven't had much more luck than you've had. I get the new ones in soon. I won some emdcc's from Sweet Vapes and these might be up your ally. It's worth a try. It's like an oversized cartomiser and it takes a lot of juice. They have a funny, wide and rubbery mouthpiece that plugs into a clear tube with polly fill in it and dual coils, I suppose. They really produce Vapor. I would always swear by the type B ego tank and the ego c tank (when it works!) because you get the best flavor besides from dripping. The Elegance does give good flavor too but I've been having other issues with it.

The 650 mah lasted me all day at work from 6am to 4:30 when I got home it blinked off. Of course I haven't been using it constantly, I was too busy banging nails and cutting rafters. Last night it lasted 3 hours with me on the button constantly. Last night I got the ego c tank setup to work for me with the 50/50 blend I have. I put in a fresh lr coil and tank and it worked great last night and all day with the twist battery. I used it mostly on the lowest setting(3.2v). It was just like what I was used to. Turning it up with the lr does give more th and a vapor but doesn't help with the flavor and is not necessary imo. Last night I mainly used a gold band sr 510 atty while playing with the settings. This atty loves it at 4.8 volts and it also works well at 4 but 3.2 doesn't get it going well enough for me that's why I use these attys on ProVari or my homemade mods which are 4.8 volts. The Elegance clearos I have work well at 3.2v but even better turned up a little bit, about 3.8v, They are 2.5 ohomes and I think the lr C is 1.8 ohms and the SR 510 is higher so this is why vv makes sense. If not you need to match the ohms with the voltage your battery puts out if you want a certain type of vape. Perfect for me is a lr 306 at 3.2 but if I want a sr 510 atty to work like that i need to be in the high 4's with the voltage. Got my second twist battery today and some other goodies(first time with a 901 atty!). This one is also a 650mah but different color, I knew I would like these! The "wheel" on the bottom is much looser on this one. The first one I got is pretty tight. I chose 650 because it is the size I am used to(just like a 1000) and between that and a couple of Volt batteries they are plenty to take me through a day. Those 1000 mah twist batteries must be pretty long!

Electronic Cigarette Explodes In Muskogee Woman's Hand
Mike replied to Jeffb's topic in General Vape News
knocking over a heavy lamp. I was suspicious. knocked off decorations from the other side of the room. No way. I suppose the neighbor got woken up by a loud noise too and the other neighbors car alarm went off. Why didn't she show the refinance of the ecig? Why didn't she just put a hole in the ceiling and say it went through the roof? She would have been more believable if her story didn't make so much nonsense. -
There's a fine line when using Vision clearos at a higher voltage. Too high and the wicking can't keep up and the flavor is diminished. 4 volts is pushing it with what I have. I usually set my ProVari at 3.8 for best results and the twist c also. These results will vary with what you might be using because these come in different resistances. I have the new V2 coming and 901 atty and other SR and LR stuff to experiment with but I'm happy as a pig in **** to be using my mod attys on my eGo battery.
-
I'm waiting on new attys and clearomisers. I've been using my regular ego with lr306 and ego c tank and Vision clearos but I don't have a proper juice for the tank right now and my 306 attys are shot. The ego C tank is kinda finicky, It works OK for me at up to 70/30 pg/vg mix and not so well with more than that and I just made several batches at about 50/50. I never had these problems with the older mega tank systems but that's a different thread. The Vision clearos I have are about 2.5 ohmes, not a true lr and I wasn't quite happy with them so I was using them on ProVari at 4v. I get the same results with the twist c at 4v and I'm happy about that. I do have a couple of good SR 510 attys that I use on other 4.8 mods and and ProVari and when they are on the twist c at 4.8 the perform just like my other mods. I read a report somewhere that claims the twist battery will not output max voltage to certain dual coil cartomisers for some reason or other. I'm curious to find the setting for a lr306 which imo is perfect on a regular ego battery. I might have to set it a 3.2 The sr 510 reminds me of lr306 when I crank it to 4.8

OK, I'm jumping the gun a little bit because I just received it today but I thought I'd start this thread for everybody's personal experiences, questions and comments about the Joyetech Twist vv battery. I ordered mine Sunday, got shipped out Monday, in my mailbox Tuesday from Mike & Carol's Internet Store. They have the best prices I have seen and obviously fast service. I chose the 650mah battery for $20.99 + $2.99 shipping. 1000mah sells for $24.49. Here are my preliminary findings of my 650mah twist: It is nearly identical in size and shape as a regular 1000mah ego battery. (mabey 1mm longer and same diameter) The twist dial on the bottom has etchings that are hard to see but go from 3.2v to 4.8v. There is no click between volt settings and the dial turns about 270 degrees, 3/4 of a full turn. The light is green on the charger! First vape at 3.2 with ego c setup and lr coil: It works. A little on the light side, now at 4.8.... Definite voltage change but this thick juice isn't working well with c-tank, switching to standard 510 atty... It's working like a champ! Very nice. More to come after I play with it for a while and compare it to my ProVari mini.
