The Post About Nothing/everything Thread
Mike replied to bamsbbq's topic in The Vape Lounge - Off Topic Chat
"Dress" rehearsal tonight for the 4th of July bash. The Vapor Talk song didn't make the set list but I plan on playing a guitar solo using a ProVari for a slide. -
In my DIY experiments I have made 80%vg juice and it is really thick. It will clog up anything and is only good for direct dripping. Bobbas and Gorrilla juice must have some water or some other solvent to thin it because it is not as thick and works well in clearos and eGo C. The amount of flavorings in an eliquid has a thinning effect also because they usually contain pg, alcohol or water. I usually use up to 30%vg and no water or other thinners and I can vape this in any carto, clearo or tank. Store bought 100% vg juice is not really 100% and some of these liquids are thicker than others.

I have some opinions about e-cigs and they won't listen to me either..... or else they ignore me. No just kiddin'. We're all good people, fire away!

Welcome to Vapor Talk Joe.

I also think it tastes like honey and a type of fermenting alcoholic brew. I don't taste graham crackers or tobacco at all. But I do like it a lot and have been using it for an all day vape since I got it a couple of weeks ago.

A 10ml or 15ml bottle is good size to try. If it's something you really like you can turn around and order a 30ml and the smaller bottle will last you until more comes in. If it's something you don't care much for, put it aside and go back to it another time; you will use up that small amount after a while or you can do a little DIY and mix it with another flavor and create a real winner. Some sites offer sample packages with 5 or so flavors at 5ml apiece. This might be something to try also. I can't really help you with what flavors to try because it comes down to personal taste.

15 months vaping? Lava Tube, Mako Midi? Make your own eliquid? You are definitely what I think of as a noobie. Usually noobies say "What is the best e-cig? " or "Why is my eGo C drooling?" LOL. You might be new to the forum but not a typical noob. Welcome to Vapor Talk.

I can remember when a long time ago when I was using high nic juice and dripping into homemade high volt PV's and would get splash back quite often. This caused a couple of spots inside my lip or tongue to become a little raw. They were not sores or even much to talk about at all. I have to think that the nicotine made these spots raw because I was getting juice in my mouth too often. This happened to me a few months into vaping and didn't last long because I changed to a better drip setup. I don't think this is the cause of your problems at all. I just want you to know that it took an awful lot of raw juice for me to have an issue and vapor from a carto is much less tame. I suppose that some people are more sensitive to certain ingredients in e-liquid such as flavor ingredients or the base liquids but if you were a smoker without being effected this way by nicotine then that probably isn't the reason but you should ask your doc. And yes, anything is better than smoking.

I can't pick a favorite because I will get tired of it and fall back to an old favorite or find a new one. I change it up once or twice a day also and I like to have lots of choices.

What's up Duck! Don't be afraid to jump in and post. We all like hearing other people's opinions and preferences, etc. and I personally like seeing the avatars of the members who have been here for a long time.

I would never recommend any kind of ecig to someone who is not a smoker or a someone who wants an alternative to smoking. DudeMan sounds like someone who smokes on occasion and I see nothing wrong with him vaping on occasion. I would recommend a low or zero nic juice for him and any ecig or mod that he thinks will suit him. It's OK for him to have an analog or cigar just like it's OK for him to Vape. BTW, my vision is better than 20/20 and I've been vaping more than 2 1/2 years. The only side effects have been no more hacking, clean smelling clothes and vehicle, extra money, etc.

Question For Those Using Joye Batteries
Mike replied to celeryfc's topic in General Vaping Discussion
Have you tried lr attys for dripping? The lr306 has the best flavor and vapor production for me with my regular eGo battery. The Joye 2.3ohm attys I would want to use the Twist battery and twist the voltage up to get similar results. Flavor is not effected much at all unless you over do it with the voltage. My advice is to try the Twist C battery and also lr306 atty. You will find yourself using the lr306 at the lowest setting and the SR510 attys at the highest. The 650mah batteries are the size of a regular 1000mah battery but they work great. -
Question For Those Using Joye Batteries
Mike replied to celeryfc's topic in General Vaping Discussion
I just tested my eGo T 1000 mah battery: 10 seconds. I also checked to see how long I usually hold down the button: 3.5 seconds. It's my opinion that if you need to hold the button down for more than 5 seconds you should change your setup. -
I guess there's a new model number atty, or maybe it's old and I just heard of it. It's a 307. Looks like a 306, no idea why or what the difference is.

Only after I make a diy batch. Otherwise NO. I have seen printed on labels from some suppliers to "shake before use" and this might help while the the juice is fresh and not fully steeped but when it is there is no way in my opinion that it will ever become un-mixed.
-
I could go for some Midnight. That was one of my favs a long time ago. Do they have Sweet Dawn? That's a real good pear flavor, good and strong. That's all I like for fruit flavors unless it's mixed with tobacco or bakery flavors.

I would suggest that you get as many different doctors/specialists and tests done as possible. Mis-diagnosis is a scary thing and it is very common. Knowing exactly what the problem is will make correcting it that much easier and successful.

I tried really hard to blow one and it almost worked. After the threaded end broke off a battery that was in my pocket I got a little pissed off so I put it on saw horse and smacked it with a hammer. It immediately started to smoke and it got really hot. If the gases didn't have somewhere to vent I think it would have blown. I know this was not a smart thing to do but I'm a little bit nutty at times so I can get away with this kind of behavior. lol

Do You Enjoy A Lighter Vape Sometimes?
Mike replied to JustVape's topic in General Vaping Discussion
So far I've only heard of one person who occasionally vapes flavorless eliquid. Are there more vapers like this? I generally like it strong in the flavor department but a week flavor helps to keep it real but I don't think I could vape without some kind of aroma. -
There is a flavor ingredient in Bobas that reminds me of something I had before and now I know what it reminds me of. I had a juice called "sweet beer on tap" and there is something similar in these two juices. Jeffb says he tastes graham cracker tobacco and I'm not so sure about graham cracker or tobacco but I definitely taste honey and beer and also something else that I can't describe. For once I'm glad I listened to the positive reviews because I do like this stuff.

Do You Enjoy A Lighter Vape Sometimes?

I definitely need to change it up. Sometimes I crave a strong cigar type flavor other times a weaker pipe tobacco and much of the time some kind of bakery flavor. -
I also disagree with Blu's disagreement. I always put a dead eGo battery on a charger before I go to bed and take it of in the morning usually 8 hours later. Several occasions they have stayed on much longer. I have had this routine for over a year and my batteries last a long time and no explosions yet. I also do this with my Volt batteries, IMR 18490, IMR 18350, 14500, 510 and conventional rechargeable AA+AAA. The secret to this is having the right charger. Not only does the light turn green but the charging should stop when it does. Sometimes chargers will malfunction and an explosion is always possible but it has never happened to me and if it does they are in a place where damage would be minimal.(I don't charge my batteries by my headboard when I'm sleeping)

Today a pair of eGo Twists one with a broken 306 and one with a broken EMDCC. I've got to get a holster or hard case or something but at least I didn't snap my batteries in half again.
