Congrats! Vapor Talk is the first and only forum I joined also. I stumbled across it by chance just like how I found out about vaping in general.

Thanks everyone. I'll be sure to have myself a beer at some point to reward myself.

Three years today(give or take a day or so) I was surfing the web and came across a website selling e-cigs, e-pipes and e-cigars. I placed an order for a dse701 e-cigar, not knowing what to expect. That was the best cigar I ever had and I knew I was on to something. Next was a Joye 510 and so on. I only wish that I found this sooner. I did see one in '06 but I brushed it off cuz I thought they were just novelty items. In '09, after I received my first order, I found that I preferred vapor over smoke. It will not be 3 years smoke free for me until the end of the year but this is the anniversary I want to celebrate more because this is when it all started for me.

Some new vapers will think that they are not getting enough nicotine and it feels like something is missing. There is something missing, tar, carbon monoxide and a whole bunch of other chemicals. The ex-smoker actually craves this junk and when it's not there he can notice that it's gone. Making the switch to e-cigs IS quitting smoking and it's not the easiest thing to do but it is a whole lot easier than other ways because you can get nicotine in a familiar way. It takes a while for your body to get used to vapor over smoke. You may experience a dry throat or an intense craving for an anolog and so on. Drinking plenty of fluids helps with this and also flushes toxins out of your body. It only gets better. Less coughing, food starts tasing better, your clothes, hair, car, house will smell better and if you're wallet will get fatter. Congrats for using an eGo over a Marlboro.

I usually mix about 20ml in a 30ml bottle if I know it's a good recipie or about 5ml in a 10ml bottle for a sample. I like to leave plenty of room in case I mess up and have to add everything to fix it. Store bought, I like 10ml or 15ml if I'm not sure and 30ml if I am.

Re-stocked on VG and more flavors from my local bakery supply store. No time to DIY, maybe I'll get a chance when I'm home from work during the up coming hurricane we are supposed to get.

I ran out of Capella's Lemon Meringue Pie flavor but I get similar results using CK or Lorran Lemon oil and marshmallow. I left out the Graham Cracker crust. I'm still lovin this lemon meringue flavor. To make a 5ml @18mg/ml with a lot of lemon flavor(Lemon oil is strong, you might want to use less at first then add a drop if you need it): 2.5 ml 36mg unflavored (I always use PG) .25 ml lemon oil(CK products, Lorrann, or other) .75 marshmallow flavor (from just about anyone) 1.5 ml vg or pg without nicotine the same recipe @ 24mg/ml: 3.3 ml 36mg unflavored .25 ml lemon .75 ml marshmellow .7 vg or pg The only difference besides the nic strength is how much vg you can add but IMO 20% or less of vg is plenty but if you like lots VG you might want to get your unflavored nic in VG.

Nicotine is sold in various strengths but it is dissolved in PG or VG or both. Pure nicotine is not available and is extremely leathal. It would be more than 1000mg/ml. 100mg/ml is dangerous also and that's only 10% nicotine by weight. We recommend using 36mg for DIY mixing and vape at no more than 24mg. vape not cape. LOL. And the most fragrant flavor I had was French toast(with syrup) . My buddy said it was making him hungry.

Massachusetts sucks. At least in my county, vaping is prohibited in the workplace, public buildings, etc. per order of the board of health, just like cigarettes are. Nobody seems to know about this and there aren't a lot of capers in my area. I've had mall security tell me it's OK to use my ecig in the mall. I've had a doctor and a nurse tell me it's OK to cape in the ER and another nurse says I can't, all within one short visit. I work and play mostly outside so I don't need to stealth vape much-- I vape anywhere and everywhere I go even if I'm breaking the rules. If I get caught I'll play dumb or tell them that my ProVari is a prescription asthma inhaler. I haven't bothered or offended anyone yet so I feel that I am doing nothing wrong.

I like lr when I'm taking quicker draws. It heats up faster and gives more vapor quicker, in like 3 seconds. SR for when I relax and can take a full 5 second drag and still get plenty of vapor and much more flavor.(unless I crank my twist to the max, then I'm choking on clouds)

Why should California get all the shakes? Well, they don't get them all. Had a good one here on the east coast today. From what I've heard it was centered in Maine and could be felt to Canada in the north to at least southern New England where I am. I thought something felt strange when I was riding my motorcycle through the city this evening. It felt like I hit a grove in the pavement. I did a double take and then srugged it off. When I got to my destination my ladyfriend said "Did you feel that earthquake? I was on the couch and it was shaking!" I put 2 and 2 together and came up with 5 so I know something had happened. This is the second time I can remember "feeling" an earthquake around here and at least the 4th time I can remember that one being reported in my area in recent years.

I use eGo batteries with a couple of different types of clearomisers, eGo 2.4ml CC and Vision/Stardust. Also with drip attys, 510, 306 and 901(with an adaptor). I've had so-so ok luck with eGo T and eGo C tank setups but I wouldn't recommended them either. If you get a standard eGo battery you might want to get the lowest resistance in a clearo or atty for the most vapor. You might be able to find a kit that contains 2 batteries, a charger, a couple of clearos, etc. for a decent price. Or if there is a good deal on eGo T you can get that and a couple of clearos or attys on the side. It's all the same battery but what goes on it makes the difference. ....And then there's the eGo twist C battery which is variable voltage. You can get great vapor and flavor with many different combinations of batteries and clearos/cartos/attys. I couldn't say which is the best combo but an eGo battery of any kind is a good start.

Need Help Choosing An E-Cig - Not Mixing My Own
Mike replied to JQueen21's topic in New Vapers Forum
Change up the flavor you vape! Whether or not you DIY it's helps tremendously to vape several flavors throughout the week or each day. Each time you switch to a new or back to an old one you'll notice you can taste everything a lot better. -
My tips are not to use too much VG. 10%-25% is what I generally use depending on what I'm making. This makes plenty of vaper and it's better for your attys than using large amounts of VG. Also small batches at first and lots of patients. Flavor % is usually 20% or less and if it is not strong enough at first you can add more later but you might want to wait a day or three to see how it is after it steeps a while. You might not have to add more flavor and if you already did it might be perfumy or too strong after a few days. Remember what you did so when you make something you like you can double or quadruple the recipe.

I also use RTS vapes and ecigexpress. I also use Walmart and my local bakery supply store for VG, PG and flavors.

I would never recommend it either. When I did this I was only taking 2 or three puffs an hour and looking back at those days, even though it worked for me, I should have just vaped a medium nic level juice a little more frequently, like how I used to smoke.
-
Hey Schits, where have you been hiding? Good to see you again! I agree with much of what you're saying. Almost everything in this world is bad for you. Too much of anything can hurt you and some things are worse than others. When it comes to smoke vs. vapor, well that's a no brainer.

BTW, Welcome to Vapor Talk!

The banana split or the apple will probably be good at about 20% flavor. 80% base(24mg) and 20% of one of these flavors will bring the nic level down to about 19mg. This is a good strength, not too strong and not to week and the flavor level should be about right. To make a 5ml sample simply mix 1ml of flavor to 4 ml of base. (1ml is 20% of 5ml) As for the clove, this is a strong flavor and probably only needs half of that amount of flavor. If you want the same nic strength mix 1/2ml clove, 4ml base, 1/2 ml vg or pg no nic. If you want you can do this: 1/2ml clove and 4 1/2ml base and the overall nic will be at least 21mg. If your desired nic level is under 20mg you should be able to mix almost any flavor using 24mg base. Just remember that 80%base=about 19mg, 50% base=12mg, and make the rest up with flavor and no nic vg or pg.

I still have one standard eGo battery(over a year old that works perfectly) but now I've switched to the twist C with a clearo or drip atty. With those eGo's and my mini I am all set. The twist C batteries work great and are comparable to the ProVari when set to a similar voltage, I recommend them to anyone who wants to try variable voltage without buying this expensive mod.

I used to smoke more than I vape. At least a pack and a half and sometimes more than 2 for over 25 years so I was constantly lighting up. I do vape quite frequntly but it's a different thing now. Sometimes I'll have a few puffs and put it away for a very short time and then have a few more, etc. Sometimes I will go a couple hours without. Vaping is not allowed indoors in my city and in the eyes of the law made by the board of health e-cigs are treated just like analogs. This rule varies from town to town or county to county in my state but it is not known to exist to a lot of business owners. There are not a lot of vapers around here and it hasn't been an issue. I vape just about anywhere I go to but if it is where smoking is not allowed I do it semi-stealthfuly.

My brother has the original Provari and I have the mini. I wouldn't trade him for nothin, the mini looks and feels better.
