  1. Ronson lighter fluid takes it off really well!! You know... the zippo lighter fluid you can get everywhere? I used it on several the other night and it works great... just a little work with a towel soaked with some lighter fluid and you'll be good to go. Obviously, don't get any inside the carto... I hold it by the threaded end and point it down over the sink and just squirt some on it and start rubbing off. Repeat process a couple of times and there will be NO STICKY !
  2. Nice! Thanks for the link. A $1.50 each is great for how long they last for me. I switch out to a new one once everything starts brownin' up real good inside... even though it still works and actually doesn't taste bad. Often times that takes about a week, sometimes two, when switching between two the whole time. There is just nothing better than a freshly filled/clean carto though... if the dang thing vapes like it's supposed too. I seem to do quite a bit of "tweakin" with some of them. A large paper clip with an end folded out works wonders when you poke it through to create that air flow channel!!
  3. EXACTLY what I've been preaching around here!! 4.5 volts and cartos are unbeatable I tell ya!! How much is a carton of them?? He's out of stock it says now... bummer. Since I will be using nothing BUT cartos primarily, I might as well go that route.
  4. Sure did... I figured it had something to do with manufacturer marks or something. @Jeff - I think you're right considering the complete satisfaction I'm getting from them!
  5. Don't know of any sweet deals anywhere... but there is "The Buzz", "JOKEr", and probably others...
  6. You've "seen the light" too I see... nice!
  7. So I peeled the black wrap off of several 510 cartos because I like the stainless look as well. After doing so, and cleaning all the sticky off... I see something on the carto. About 1/2" down from the top there is a letter "K" actually inscribed into the metal. Anyone have any idea what this means or why it's there? I checked like 3 and they all have the same thing stamped into them. It's kind of hard to see at first... but upon further looking you can find it. Suppliers, you ever see this or know what it's there for?
  8. THANK goodness for cartos !!!
  9. Luckily, they come out as good as new after a couple of drill bits.
  10. I just love how it varies so much from one person to the next... it's great. For me, cartos are just easier to deal with, plus I like the flavor/vapor I get from them. HV and cartos is ok... but it burns up the juice too fast in my opinion. And for me, 3.7 just isn't enough voltage, but at 4.5 volts it's perfect in every aspect. Alot of people that prefer direct dripping over cartos are probably folks with 3.7 volt devices. And I would agree with them there. So they are in love with 3.7 and LR atty's. But I think alot of folks would feel different if they could try cartos at a bit higher voltage. To each their own I guess... but I sure found what I am content with. It just took me hundreds of dollars before it happened! Thankfully, variable voltage mods are out now!! Being able to adjust voltage to fit your atty or carto was a huge step.
  11. I'm not a "true DIY'er" but here's what I've been doing. Since I have alot of juices that I know I already like... I will go to those vendors and buy their juice at the highes nic strength possible and cut it with PG/VG to the "thickness" I prefer. This gives me a lot of juice for the money and I don't have to hope I like the flavor of diy concentrates. I've also been doing alot of combining of juices to make something new. This has landed me some excellent new flavors. I know it's not really "mixing my own"... but it sure gives me a lot of juice!! I also have nic concentrate, unflavored mixing juice, PG, VG, etc. Only thing I don't mess with is the flavorings I suppose. Maybe one of these days.... as it is kinda fun!
  12. And since you are happy with what you've got... I would just refill your cartos once they run out. Mine last me a long time doing it that way. I'm not a big fan of taking the time to clean them, etc. when I switch juice either. Most of what I vape is fruity anyway... so they are just fine to mix in the same carto! Often times I end up finding a GREAT mix!! Once your carto starts to under-perform... switch to a new one. Besides, they are fairly cheap anyway. Good luck my friend!! I might also recommend... the most efficient/effective way to fill or topoff my cartos is using a little syringe with a needle that you can actually poke down into the filler of the carto. (just need to make sure the needle gauge is big enough that it will suck up juice from your bottle... somewhere around a 20g) This allows you to literally "put the juice where you need it"... instead of filling then waiting for it to soak in and repeating until it's full. It's saved me alot of time and hassle in filling/topping off my cartos. This doesn't mean you have to walk around in public filling them this way. This is just my prefered home method.
  13. I know, for me, the game changer was when I finally got a variable voltage device and started dialing in cartos. Wow, what a huge increase in flavor and vapor! I'm in vaping heaven.
  14. I've drilled mine out. Just start with a nice sharp bit just barely larger than the hole is now and work your way through. Then get the next size bit and do the same, etc. The main problem is doing it in small increments. I used some pliers and a towel and held the tip in one hand and drilled with the other. No sanding needed... they come out nice and smooth. Good luck!
  15. Would your M402 battery be able to handle the LR atty though?? Needs to be over 420mah... or something like that... someone will clarify shortly. All I know is that you aren't supposed to use them on regular 510 batts because the mah rating is too low. I'm sure you can probably do it and it would work... but I think they say it can shorten the life of your battery.
  16. Not to mention it's nothing but a bunch of A-HOLES over there anyway...
  17. It makes alot of sense though. I broke out a LR 510, brand new, and dripped like 4 drops in it. Well, on the 2nd drag I got that HORRID burning metal taste that we all know too well. I really think that they need to be soaked good in juice like they said. I ended up having to drop 4 or 5 more drops into it, after the first 4, before it finally started hitting right. Still not nearly as satisfying as a carto at 4.5 volts though... not even close!
  18. Not a must... but alot easier. Otherwise, you drip in a few drops, let is soak in... then drip some more. With a syringe... you just stab it through the filler and you can basically put the juice right where you want it. This helps to get it all evenly distibuted in the carto. It's the ONLY way to fill in my opinion! And I've tried all ways of doing it. I use cartos exclusively now... and I don't even like my LR atty's anymore! I like the fact that they provide great vapor and flavor without having to count drops and make a mess of it. I have a feeling you would like them on your Joke®... you should really try em.
  19. It's no big deal... but just so you know... the wire element doesn't actually heat up a wick. It just heats up the juice that the wick has helped draw down to it from your cart, if you use carts. Just lettin' ya know... but maybe you already did and I didn't read your post right! (first post of the morning)
  20. I would tend to agree with Ben on this one... probably the high nic level.
  21. Join the club... I probably have a 10 different Twisted Tips myself! I do wish they offered a long version of them though... maybe one of these days.
  22. Ah shucks... I even have some 0 nic I coulda tried. I totally forgot I even had it... it was one of those freebies a vendor threw in one time. I'm just glad that I never had to go through any coughing spells when I made the switch!
  23. That's so strange ... I don't recall ever having a "coughing fit" when I first started vaping. I rarely cough at all since I've started vaping either... but I've darn sure had some sore throats!!! The funny thing is... several of my friends have asked if they could try one out. I get everything set up and explain how to inhale one them properly. Next thing I know... COUGHING FIT! And these people are all smokers... one buddy even smokes Marlboro Reds like they're not going to be available any more or something!! I don't get why everyone coughs up a lung when they first try it!! It must just be that different feeling of vapor vs. analog smoke? Nic strength? PG/VG? Other flavorings? Anyway, I just found it odd that SMOKERS have "coughing fits" from their e-cigs. I've never had any problems with that part... in fact, they seem even "weaker" than analogs to me.
