Really? My last lot of cartos came from vaporkings... and were a buck a piece with coupons/discount. You might want to check that out again. Even w/o coupons they run 1.79 a piece, and that's not bad. Not sure if this still works or not: VTALK15 gets an extra 15% off

You are correct my friend... you're obviously doing something wrong! Cartos DO NOT leak if filled/used the correct way. Just an FYI so you don't scare the OP away from cartomizers. LOL! Trust me... those of us that have simply given them enough time and got the hang of them , have realized that they can and do actually work... and can work quite well! And, I'm not just saying this to 'create any waves in the pool' here peeps, just speaking the truth. Perfect example: 'Kingbtheone' in above post. 'savanahrose'... cartos can and do work if you just have a little bit of patience to learn how to use them the proper way. Once you learn how to properly fill/use them they are just splendid... trust me. I would have to give Boge cartomizers:

Check these guys out... have some really nice stuff. http://www.epipemods.com/index.php

Yeah kellie, I was curious as to how well those performed. They sure look like they kick out the vapors! So you are liking yours so far huh? How well does it wick, because I know I had issues with the eGo T's. I would hate to repeat that experience!
-
Actually, you are spelling it how it's pronounced, so its all good! We won't count it against you this time.
-
BLASTED CE2 CARDOMIZERS!! Man I can't stand em!
-
Yeah, you could just go with the eGo T Kits... that way you also get the 900 mah batteries and the T-atomizers for them. Then, all you would need is some LR Boge Cartos to try, between the two methods one of them will hopefully make you happy. If not, you still have the big batts to try the cartos or regular atomizers on!
-
Nature, the 1.8 LR Boges will work just great... and you will want a drip tip for a '510/901' in whatever style/color you prefer. You can get all of this at one place... did you find a good vendor and price on stuff? Here is a good place to get them: 2.0 LR CARTOMIZERS! You should also be able to grab the drip tips there as well under 'accessories' I believe. That is if you haven't found a better price/vendor to buy stuff from.
-
Sounds like the totally awesome CE2 style cartos... you really need a syringe/needle to fill with. You should see that one of the little rubber pieces has 2 small holes in it... thats to poke the needle through and fill. What device do you actually have anyway? I see that you noticed the 2 small holes.... you are correct, thats what they are there for.

If you are mainly concerned about getting that 'reckless' throat hit then just start with a higher nic level. That is typically what gives us that kick in the throat feeling that many users look for. Also, higher voltages will give more of a kick as well. You will just need to find what works best for you. But you cannot go wrong with the eGo as already stated... and LR cartos with a drip tip! !
-
Yep, what Fran said... some LR (2.0 ohm) Boge Cartos are simply a must I think. Especially starting out... I only wish this would have been the thing I would have done in the beginning!! The cartidges that come with the kit simply will not satisfy you... and they dry up fast and often taste nasty. I personally think cartos are less hassle than 'direct dripping'... but I still 'top off' to keep the carto nice and wet, so theres not much difference there I suppose. And you could also try the eGo T tank system as well if you wanted. Thats what nice about the eGo... it's so versatile and has several different ways to be used by you. Good luck!
-
I honestly think that this is the main reason that new users complain of a 'horribly harsh hit' and that they started coughing and hacking their lungs up. So often times it is that they are using the standard battery/cartridge delivery method... and we all know that those things will dry up super fast and give you a nasty/harsh hit! A lot of times that people complain about this it is simply the cart drying up on them. Once they switch to 'direct dripping' or use a cartomizer the problem amazingly goes away. This is just something I have noticed happening to many people... and I also recalled from my n00b days when I first started vaping that it happened to me as well! Good Luck!

Scientific Evidence Vaping Causes Brain Damage
DAYVAPE replied to mcquinn's topic in General Vaping Discussion
You couldn't be more right on the money with that one mcquinn! I seriously cringe every month now when I tear that envelope open! -
By the way PADave... I, like you, also would like more of a 'fill and forget' type device now. From what I have read... I would go straight for the 'bottom feeder' mods that are out there as your best choice. There are several available.... The Reo mods, Ali'i, are a couple of the 'higher quality' ones. There is also the Old Goat mods for a less expensive alternative to them... might be worth trying before stepping in to the expensive models. I'm in the same boat... I'm ready to pull the trigger on a bottom feeder... I just simply cannot make up my mind as to which one to get. I suppose I will own several of them before this is all over with... who am I kidding!
-
Not really the best way to top off when you are ready... you are trying to avoid the center airway if at all possible. The drip tip just lines that up for a perfectly straight shot. I'd say to still 'pop the top' so you can then drip down the inside of the carto... but that's just me.

I would guess one of the things that everyone is liking is that fact that it uses a variety of battery setups. This shows what I mean: HELIX REVIEW

Yeah, if I were you I would try the eGo, along with some 'LR 2.0 Cartomizers'. You can get the good Boge brand here: LR CARTOS! With these cartos, you can refill them time and time again with the juice of your liking, then just 'top off' every once in a while with juice. Along with the cartos I would also recommend you pick up a couple of 'drip tips' also. DRIP TIPS! They really make using cartos or attys a better experience because they do get quite warm when you are using them. The drip tip will help you in that respect.... not to mention you drip right through it when using atomizers. And with cartos, when you top off with more juice just pop it off and back on when you are done, this is much easier than removing the little white mouthpiece that comes with them. Other than that... if you want to try atomizers you can pick some of those up and go that route. With atomizers it's much easier/better tasting if you 'direct drip' right on to the coil inside. That gives you 5 or 6 good 'drags' then you just repeat the process when you are ready for more. It's really a personal preference on what method you use... grab both and give them a try. The eGo is a much higher quality device than some of the really small two piece kits you see. You really want to try and stay away from having to buy prefilled cartridges for a particular device... those really don't get the job done for most people. You can really get a lot more for your money out of the eGo and either cartomizers or atomizers and your own liquid. Besides, the key is to make the transition as easy as possible. This is why I am recommending cartos for you, I just feel like they may be the best option for a new user. You can always try the other methods as well if you want. The eGo is such a versatile device you really can't go wrong. Good luck to you!

Gotvapes, Vortex Bottom Coil Cartomiser Review
DAYVAPE replied to Atari's topic in e Cigarette Reviews
I see your results are just like mine are when I use a CE2 carto. That coil setup just doesn't stay wet enough for me and my chain vaping habits. It doesn't matter what I try... it never seems to work/taste right for me. I guess if you are not a 'chain vaper' then these bad boys would work really well. Too bad for me though. Nice review! -
After nearly a year and a half... I'm ready to try out' bottom feeders' as well. I've heard a lot of great things about the Reo Mods... so I can't wait to give one a go. Now I just need to try and make my mind up on what to get... the Woodvill or the Grand, decisions decisions dangit! Of course, I go to grab one up and there aren't any available right now! And I hate waiting on vape gear... so impatient when it comes to this.
-
I dont recall that happening when I started vaping.... but I do remember alot of coughing in general the first couple of weeks. My lungs were clearing themselves of all that crap... so I was fine with that. What you are describing though sounds like the cough you get when you try to take a big long inhale only to find that it was too dry and was too harsh. I know my cousin tried it once and did the same exact thing as you are talking about... and I was wondering what was wrong so I took a drag and it was just fine. So I'm thinking that this may just be a common reaction when trying e-cigs for the first time... as it is a change from the usual smoke our body is used to inhaling. I can't comment on your e-cig...but I can comment on the ones I've used. You cannot go wrong with an eGo as a starter unit... unless you are hellbent on it looking/feeling just like a real analog. This wasn't never a big deal to me... I just wanted to quit smoking. If it is a big deal then I would recommend the Joye 510 to start with. The eGo boasts excellent battery life and has a reputable company to back that up. Besides, I think it looks BETTER than the real thing... what's so darn attractive about real cigs that we want it to look/feel like they do? In all seriousness, I think the coughing issue is only a temporary thing, just see if you can give vaping some more time and see if it passes. Good luck in your adventure.... and we're here to help if we can. We've all gone through the same exact things throughout our time with vaping.

Well, since you already like cartos then I would stick with those... grab up the eGo batt of your choice and then get some Boge LR 2.0 ohm cartos from electronicstix.com. Those are really great LR cartos! If I were you I would want the most from my eGo, and that means going with the 950 or 1000 mah battery. Yeah, they may be a bit bigger.... but you are only talking an inch or so more. Thats nothing... What particular cartos have you been using already? The Boge/silver threads just seem to be the best ones for now... work like champs on the eGo, and even better with the largest eGo battery. Or you could always try out the eGo Tank system as well.... there are a few people around here the worship them I think.... so they must be doing something I'm not aware of yet. !
-
Typically HV attys are for use one 6 volts and higher... no need to use one at 5 volts at all, just go with a 'standard resistance' atty and you will be fine.
-
Me thinks that since you've been using the Tank for as long as you have your body kinda 'forgot' what it was like to get a 'real hit' of nicotine like the carto provided you!
-
I would guess that it has a particularly lower resistance than the other ones you are using.... resulting in you 'poppin it' like you did.
