  1. I'm not sure... I just do both since I'm already digging around in it. LOL. I think 'de-wicking' is probably the best of the two... since you are removing all the little extra fibers around the coil that can tend to get burnt up and leave you with a foul tasting atty.
  2. You may want to consider just buying one or two that are made that way to begin with. For example: (and I like these atty's as well... but he's out of stock right now.) http://www.smartvape...9&products_id=3 There are other places that make 'dripping atty's'... but I have not tried them since I really like the two I mentioned already. Although, it's not hard to take a pair of tweezers and do it yourself either... there are YouTube vids on how to do it all over. All it entails is removing the little metal bridge that has mesh over it. I usually split the mesh in half right at the top of the bridge... then grab ahold of the mesh down low and give it a twist... it comes right out once you do that. You then repeat on the other side of the bridge with that half of the mesh. Then, the last thing you do is gently wiggle the metal bridge back and forth and pull it out. You can also LEAVE the metal bridge in if you don't want to attempt removing it. The main thing is to remove the mesh so you can get the extra little fibers of wicking material out. This is all MY opinion obviously... and others will not agree I'm sure. I have also found that these atty's are really easy to de-wick/de-bridge also... and work great too!! http://ivape.net/ind...zer-chrome.html On another note... you can leave everything in the darn thing and drip with it as well!
  3. That's cool... I really didn't think it would be much of anything when I first saw it. But, whenever I dripped early on, I was always getting juice spitting back at me. This does fix that totally if you are one to have that issue like I did. I'll be the first to say that I didn't ever like 'dripping' either... but now that I have found my perfect setup it has become all that I do now! Once you find that 'sweet spot/setup' you will enjoy every minute of dripping, IMHO. For me, it just takes a combination of these small items to make it all perfect. LOL. I might also add that the first thing I do is 'de-wick/de-bridge' the 510 atty that I'm going to use. Right now I'm using a HH357 from Avid Vapor... and it already came that way... ready to drip. (and an awesome atty too I might add)
  4. Yes, the drip shield has an o-ring at the top and bottom which creates a void around the atty you are using... this collects the juice and when you take a drag it sucks it back into the atty! Works like a champ too I might add! The adapter is necessary to raise it just a tad so that the bottom o-ring is below the threads of the atty... so it can work it's magic. And there is no loss of power that I have ever been aware of. I also use this little guy: http://www.empiremods.com/product_p/chrryuni.htm You stick it in the atty and then add your drip tip of choice.... it raises your drip tip up a bit and that way you don't get ANY juice spitting up at you as you are using it. I use these all the time now. I hope that helps a little more.
  5. Speaking of Avid Vapor... I rec'd a 1.5 and a 2.0 ohm 'HH357' from there... and they frickin' are the best atty around IMHO. They don't really even compare to the others I've been using... but the shouldn't either when you pay that kind of money for them! I've been on the 2.0 for about a month and it honestly just keeps getting better!! I'm rockin' it at 4.5 on the LT and it's just sweet. I have yet to even try the 1.5. Glad you like your 306's!
  6. Drip shields work GREAT with 510 atty's. All you need is a '510-510 adapter' and you are set. Any leakage from the atty is contained and will then be pulled back up to be used again when vaping. I don't drip at all unless I'm using a drip shield!! Adapter: http://www.empiremods.com/product_p/510-510ads.htm Drip Shields: http://www.empiremods.com/category_s/21.htm
  7. I actually use it to EMPTY cartos that have some old juice left in them that doesn't vape all the way gone. If I want to add fresh juice or even switch... that's the best way to get the old stuff out. It really does a great job draining one... I don't ever use it to fill them however. What I do is just screw a carto (with no cap) on to a old 510 pass-thru battery with the cord... go outside and spin the hell out of it. Or you can use a long carto condom and push it on half way and spin it... then it will empty the juice in to the condom. Works great!
  8. Yep! Works like a champ too!
  9. Which is what I always try to tell people just starting out... but they always want the cig-like device first. Two weeks later they are ordering an eGo or something like that. LOL. I guess that's part of the whole process. The reason I say to start with an eGo type unit is because too many people have bad experiences with the small batts... and then go right back to analogs.
  10. It's not really a feature I guess as much as it is a protection. You don't want to over discharge batteries like that... that's why they have the auto shutt off in the first place. Just a thought.
  11. I don't recall now... I'll have to go back and watch it. I thought they were the same too... but his sure didn't shut off for him when the batt was low.
  12. About the Lava Tube... does anyone know if the clones have and automatic shut-off once the battery gets down to it's lowest voltage? I have an actual LT, and it does have this feature, but PBUSARDO's review of the clone did not have it. Just thought I would bring that to your attention if you were thinking about getting one. It's a nice feature to have I think.
  13. That means I would have to round everything up and take pics... sounds like a lot of work. Besides, I only have a bunch of 801 batts and some attys. Oh, and I have some blue foam.
  14. Well isn't that just cute.
  15. Right. I wasn't saying that I use LR on VV. Standard only on VV, obviously. Rock on Buzz Pro.
  16. Well, it all depends on what the resistance of the carto is. If you have the higher resistance cartos then 5v would be just fine. But for the most part, with 'standard' resistance cartos, I would have to agree with you. That's the great thing about variable voltage... you can easily dial it in.
  17. Not a fan of CE2's... but I haven't tried them for quite some time now... so they may have improved them. Basilray did a vid on some sort of 'tank CE2' for eGo's.. and he seemed to like how it performed.
  18. Correct. There is often a fine line when trying to get the best performance out of a carto. Too high and you start burning it... too low and you don't get any flavor at all. Takes some fine tuning... and every single carto will perform differently as well.
  19. What voltage are you using the standard ones at?
  20. And it all depends on what flavors are in the juices... some need steeping and some simply do not.
  21. I'm happy to see that you have realized your mistake and are warning others. It's never a good practice to give random people your banking information either... just a thought. I mean, these people are already charging you out the for supplies when they know darn good and well that it's a ripoff to begin with. You never know what these people could be capable of doing with your banking information! And, yes, it's much cheaper to just buy stuff when you need it... and also to buy your own juice and fill your own cartos, etc.
  22. I dedicate one drawer of my 'vape box' to LR cartos... and another one for the standard ones. The same goes with atomizers as well. Then another slot for adapters... another for drip tips... another for mod batteries... and so on and so forth. Pretty simple really.
  23. Yep, just stating the facts. I certainly didn't say that the 'cig-like batts' were 'junk' as he stated... but in all reality, IMHO and others, they are junk when compared to the eGo! So there, I said it... they are 'junk' ! Deal with it, lol.
