  1. This would be a warning to RUN!!!! Get out now while you still have money in your bank account!!!! Welcome to VaporTalk.....Don't say I didn't warn you....
  2. MCVapes on YouTube recently put up a two-part tutorial on getting big vapor. Even though he's gearing the video more for rebuildables, the principles are still the same. 1) Lower resistance = hotter coil 2) More air moving over hotter coil = more vapor In short, if you can figure out how to get a more airy draw off your current device (maybe use a slightly modified 510 to 510 adapter), and its resistance is in the 1.5 to 2 ohm range, you can get decent clouds off a standard eGo. If on a Twist / Spinner, you can also run more voltage until you find a balance that puts out the vapor you want without burning up the coil. May not fill the room like a mechanical mod running a .5 ohm dual coil RBA setup with a 1/8" air hole.....but, you'll get some good vapor for sure!!!
  3. Upload away!!! Please!!! I can't be the only one with critter pics, LOL!!! @Lyrical : That's cute!! The only animal we have that will outlive us is our African Grey parrot, and we aren't intending on breeding him. Also been wondering about the Bat-Beardie-Babies, myself....haven't seen either of them on recently. Maybe the thread resurrection will bring them out of their Bat Cave. :p
  4. Tameiki's statement that your taste buds will change in time is pretty dead on. More true to those who've recently quit analogs, as it takes quite a while for your taste buds (and sense of smell....remember, those two senses are endemic to each other) to return to normal. Before I started vaping, I tried a buddy's juice from a vendor who's name I won't drop. It tasted ok to me at the time. But, about 2 or 3 months after starting to vape, I tried it again. After all, it was his FAVORITE that he just ranted and raved about....I had to try it!!! However, this time it had this musty quality to it that I couldn't quite explain. Of course I didn't "know what I was talking about," according to him. But, the big difference between the two of us is that I gave up tobacco completely, while he was still smoking a few cigs every day. Now that I've been vaping for five months solid, I've tried a few things I liked in the beginning, and really can't stand the taste of them any longer. Though, now that my senses have improved some, I'm finding a whole new world of flavors that I may not have liked to start with.
  5. Carto tanks seem to be popular with variable power mod users....go to www.ibtanked.com and look around. You will not find any other quality glass, pyrex, or fused quartz DCTs for around $25 to $30. Also, the ViVi Nova tanks, and Kanger ProTank are also popular choices, and look really nice sitting on a mod.
  6. Congrats on your 45 days!!! Simple answer is that a mod is essentially a tube that takes a more generic battery. A simple, well-built mechanical will take a few drops, and some general abuse while shielding your battery. Simple to fix, simple to use, and virtually limitless possibilities once you know a bit about what you can put on or in the mod. Besides, the batteries only cost around $10 a piece, have a capacity of around 2000+ mAh, and last for a long time!!! Also, I have a thread in the Lounge dedicated to herpers here on the forum. Post up some of your beauties, and discuss herps there!!!
  7. Everyone has their preferences, and the right to their own opinions. However...... You sound a lot like my buddy that got me into Vaping, LOL!!! Absolute refusal to deviate from the known routine. He sang the same song, and refused to even so much as look at anything other than his eGo C setup (even chastised me for doing a ton of research chasing my perfect vape)....until it gave out. Now he's REALLY happy with his K100 that I recommended. In all honesty, mods...especially mechanicals...aren't that hard to use, or maintain once properly set up. Both my buddy and I work multiple jobs, go to school full-time, play music, have our hobbies (he's an avid brewer, and I breed exotic animals), and still find time to fill a carto tank, rebuild an atomizer, and occasionally clean the contacts on our mechanical mods. Not trying to bash you, or tell you to change your routine, or anything....but, it NEVER hurts to live a little, have fun, go out on a limb, and enjoy life, LOL!!!
  8. Plenty of stuff made here.... HH .357 and Cisco (sp?) spec atomizers. Precise plus and ela mods Empire mods and drip shields Zen Z-attys and Zenisis hybrids I'm sure that's not all, but its what I know of off the top of my head, LOL!!! I get what you're saying, though. And, I have my fair share of Chinese made crap in my vape box. But, I'll support Stateside suppliers and juice makers, unless otherwise impossible to do so (like getting my hands on a Poldiac :p ).

Thanks again, Uma!!!! Did anyone yet tell you that you're the life-saving goddess of the RBA section??? :p Now, off to go find a syringe locally as my needle-tip bottle doesn't reach all the way to the bottom of the tank....
  10. Like you, Patricia, the Twist I had burned out on me with a quickness. I got the stupid thing in late January / early February, and never saw much difference between the voltages. So, I left it at 4.8 and used it primarily for a standard resistance drip atty. Subsequently, it burned out in less than a month. (Could it also be that this cheap Chinese crap is....well.....crap to begin with??) Just because you like keeping things simple (much like myself), does not mean that your options are entirely limited. First, you could go with a standard eGo and low-resistance head / carto / whatever. Super compact, lots of colors to choose from, and fairly inexpensive, yet durable. (Hey, I still use my eGo setup....that thing is solid!!!) Next, you could get a mod of some sort. This option does require some research, but it opens up the possibilities. For example: since you like simplicity, get a mod with variable wattage (vamo, z-max, etc.), and figure out what setting works best for you, and that mod will deliver that wattage no matter what device you put on it (within the mod's amp limitation, of course). Or, you could get a simple electrical mod (silver bullet, or bolt) and a Kick. Set your watts, and vape away. If you don't like the color or finish options, you could go to J-Wraps (forgot the link....derp), and put a skin on your mod. Finally, there's the option of getting a mechanical mod and rebuildable atomizer.....but, this option requires a ton of research and patience beforehand, and is definitely not for everyone. But, I include the option for sake of being thorough. (Who knows.....maybe it actually will pique your interest rather than frighten and intimidate, like it does to most Vapers) Good luck in your search!!!
  11. If you have the $$ then check into the HH .357 drip attys. They're a tad pricey, but they are hand-made to tight specs and will last forever if well maintained. On a side note: I love dripping!!!! After all, it is how I started vaping. I've tried just about everything...from clearos to cartos to RBAs. Hell, I even tried those old-school cartridges that came with my first kit...an experience which promptly led to dripping. Throughout all of that, I have to admit that direct dripping is still my preferred method for experiencing flavor. It's just too bad that this practice draws a lot of unwanted attention, and is highly inconvenient when behind the wheel.

Thanks Uma!!! You're right, there is no better feeling than that of self-reliance.....except for the feeling you get when having to reduce your nic level because your new Genny setup kicks like a horse. Though, the only 6mg liquid I have is a different flavor...and I don't wanna tear down my build because its been working so good!!!
  13. About 300-ish charge cycles. Though, I've heard of some batteries lasting as long as two plus years if well cared for.
  14. Sounds like you have a lot of negative, and toxic people in your life. Sorry for being blunt, but its no wonder you cannot quit with your loved ones tearing you down when they should be supporting you during this endeavor. Even though you cannot get rid of these people in your life (coming from a toxic family myself, I do understand), you do possess the power to block them out. Do not verbally engage, because you can't win with these types of people. If there is one thing I've learned from a lifetime of dealing with my own addictions, demons, and negative people, it is that this is something that had to be done on YOUR terms. And remember, above all else, remind yourself that YOU are worth it and are doing this for YOUR own benefit...not anybody else's. As for how I quit.... Personally, I switched over to Vaping the second my first kit arrived in the mail. Like you, I never smoked more than a pack a day, so I started with 24mg for the first week (which made me hella sick). Then went right to 12, and have stayed there until recently acquiring a Genesis atty (those things will knock you for a loop when properly set up, LOL). I've also had a good group of friends around me who encourage rather than tear down....unlike my family. And, I've had this forum, and all the good people here. The membership here has helped numerous people out with everything from quitting the cigs to navigating the thousands of products being sold by hundreds of vendors. If you need anything, just ask. Someone will be glad to jump in with an answer. Good Luck, and Happy Vaping!!!
  15. Buy whichever gives you the best vape, and get an additional battery. #BackupsForYourBackups
  16. Some people really love their eVics. They are, however, very fragile. The Twist/Spinner route is great if you cannot afford to replace your unit if it drops. Not sure what VV devices out there support T3-type devices without requiring an adapter (heard one of the new Z-max versions does). But, I'm sure there is something more durable out there than the eVic. Check with Pbusardo and Grimm Green's channels on the good ol' YouTube. They both have plenty of good, in-depth reviews on Variable Power devices.
  17. It takes a couple months to really get the lungs clear. Until then, its cough-central. Keep experimenting, and hopefully your friend keeps at it. All will be right in the end!!!
  18. +1 I couldn't agree more!!! TVR is definitely my go-to vendor of choice.

First wick & coil!!!! Using 400 mesh rolled tight, with a 3/2 wrap of 28 awg. Metered at .8 ohms... : Honestly, it was a lot easier than I thought it would be thanks to you guys here in the RBA section!!!! :p
  20. Certain e-liquid flavors (cinnamon, anise, citrus, et al) will fog and/or crack the polycarbonate tanks found on most clearomizers, cheap carto tanks, and some cheap rebuildables. You shouldn't have to worry too much if you're just going to be using cartomizers. Two weeks is quite a while for an atomizer head when compared to the 4-5 days a cartomizer will "last." Even though you can get quite a bit more use out of them, you will lose flavor and performance. My best advice for sampling flavors is to get a standard 510 atomizer, and a drip tip. This is so you can drip the liquid directly onto the atomizer, and sample the flavor without wasting a cartomizer. If you do not like the flavor, simply rinse out the atty, and load a new flavor.
  21. At $39, I may have to get one!! Though, its hard get past the fact that the K100 looks like something I'd find in my girlfriend's nightstand drawer. My buddy really loves his, despite all the crap I give him about it being ribbed for his pleasure. And, to be honest, it has to be one of the best performing mechs coming out of China (next to my Sigelei #8, of course :p ). Think I'll run over to Fasttech, and see if they have the K101 body, and just toss an Octopus RDA on top of that!! :
  22. You are correct, you will not need the base. In fact, you probably will not need the whole eGo-C kit, as you could piece-meal an eGo / clearo / carto setup for around the same price. Again, look up Pbusardo on YouTube, and watch his "Beginners Guide to E-Cigs" video. Then go sift through his channel, and watch the reviews of which products are catching your eye. This is probably the best thing you could do at the moment without confusing yourself. Remember to just keep it simple for now, then go for broke once you've gotten used to the Vaping experience. Good luck!!!
  23. Christopher can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe VT juices are not Dekang. I've vaped both VT's Dulcis, and DK's RY4.....you couldn't pay me enough to vape Dekang ever again!!! Dulcis was similar in flavor, but did not have that horrible smell of cheap whiskey, nor that sickening chemical taste that DK seems to be renown for. As for the OP's original question; an eGo kit is perfect for what you're looking for. A lot of people (myself included) started there, and quite a few stay content with one. I still use mine when out in public places, as mods tend to draw a ton of unwanted attention from those unfamiliar with my chosen habit, LOL!!!
  24. The Vapor Room has a great French Vanilla flavor. They also have different options for PG/VG ratio (including 100% VG), and the option to add an extra flavor shot or two. Customer service is great, shipping is fast, and every order ships with a free 3ml sampler bottle of your choice. Plus, first time customers get a free 15ml bottle of liquid.
  25. Don't let these bozos confuse you, Grant...everyone here is too nice and helpful, LOL!!! :p The world of e-cigs can sometimes be really confusing even to the veterans. There are hundreds of vendors selling thousands of products, with more being released, tested, and reviewed daily. Knowing which one to go with is never a "for-sure" thing....no matter what the Provari fanboys on that "other" forum will try to have you believe. The best advice I could give you at this point is to not put too much pressure on yourself. You've already taken the first step towards a cleaner, healthier lifestyle by having the desire to make the switch. So, be patient and take some time to do some research, and ask questions before jumping headlong into anything. In time, all this foreign terminology you're now encountering will make perfect sense. May I suggest that before you do anything else, get on YouTube, and look up Pbusardo. His channel is jam packed with product reviews and tutorials. However, the one video of his I'd recommend as "Required Viewing" would be his "Beginners Guide to E-Cigs" that he did at the beginning of this year. That video alone should clear up a lot of confusion you may be having at this point. Welcome to the forum, and the world of Vaping!!!
