  1. As the title says, it was one month ago today I received my eGo kit, and have never looked back. I still have the half pack of Camel Wides that I was smoking while waiting for the mailman to arrive. If I make it a year, I'll be framing them, LOL!!! In celebration, I got myself a little present....I took the next step, and bought an eGo Twist, which arrived today. Holy Crap, I think I need to reduce my nicotine content, as just a few puffs left me buzzing. As pbusardo says, "NOW I get it," LOL!! Here's to another month of no smoking!!
  2. My Dulcis arrived with today's mail. So, I cleaned out and put a new head in my Vision 2.0, and will be vaping this all day. So far, it's better than that Dekang crap (though very similar). Unlike the Dekang (which was practically unvapable), I will reserve final judgement until I'm through a tank of this.
  3. You bastard!!! Mine should be arriving tomorrow or the next day....can't wait!!
  4. Back in the summer of 2010, my former roommate bought an eGo C kit, and tried getting me to quit smoking with him. Didn't put much stock in it then, as he is probably one of the most gullible idiots I've ever met regarding the latest fads and trends. The funny thing is that it actually did work for him a year or two later, and he ended up selling his eGo C to a mutual friend so he could upgrade to a better e-cig. Ever since my better half and I met, she's been trying to get me to quit smoking. As fate would have it, that same mutual friend brought his e-cig to my girlfriend's attention....and then her persistent nagging about my smoking turned to persistent nagging about getting me on the e-cig. So much so, that I started hating Stephen Dorff, and his stupid Blu e-cig commercials..... Finally, I caved and decided to make yet one more new years resolution to stop smoking. So, I started researching, got a kit, and wound up here on VaporTalk. Now I am four weeks off analogs, and feeling great!!!
  5. Congrats on taking the first step, and welcome to VaporTalk!!! If you're a pack-a-day smoker, I'd recommend around 18mg strength overall, and 24mg for those times you cannot vape for more than an hour between sessions. Though, I was about 15 cigs per day, I started at 26mg, and progressed quickly down to 12mg for my all-day vape. Everyone's experience and needs are different....YMMV. Generally, I'd suggest doing some research, and getting sample sets from a few different vendors, and finding what you like before going all-in on 30ml of juice. Hope this helps!!
  6. Picked myself up a 900 mAh eGo Twist and drip tip from Discount Vapes, and some Dulcis liquid (11mg strength), and an eGo charger from the VaporTalk store. Hope the Dulcis is worth the $5.99 shipping....though, for what I spend in shipping reptiles to and from my home, I shouldn't be complaining too much, LOL!!!
  7. Since I was in my 20's, I've always had acne on my back, chest, and upper arms. Always had good complexion until then....go figure, LOL!!! Can't day I've noticed much change overall. Maybe once I actually go long enough without analogs to let my body finally detox from over 20 years of buildup...but, I'm not betting the farm on it.
  8. Congrats on getting off analogs!!! Myself, a 20+ year smoker, I've been off them going on 4 weeks now....and yes, I vape waaaay more than I ever smoked. So much so that the 24-26 mg liquid I started with was making me sick. Needless to say, I am now at 12mg, and happily chain-vaping to my heart's content. As long as you're off analogs, and have found your perfect nic strengths, there's never such thing as too much!! My lungs still haven't recovered to the point that a good throat hit in the morning won't send me into an asthma attack, but its getting there. I'm already looking into getting a VV device (vision spinner 1300 mAh), so I'll be able to design my perfect Vaping day. Again, Congrats on 3-days off the cigs!!!
  9. "May" try it out?? More like "should" try it out....heavy emphasis on the "should." BTW, mse12....I couldn't resist, and broke into the Ginger's RY4. So far, I'm really liking it. Dulcis is next on my list.
  10. TVR has a couple of sampler packages, as well as some pretty good deals. Plus, new customers get a free 15ml bottle of whatever you want, and they'll throw in a free 3ml bottle of something with every purchase. Kinda hard to go wrong with that. Though, it's really easy to go overboard with the juice order... http://www.thevaporroom.net
  11. Wow....call me neurotic, but that's scary enough that I'll be crossing out Janty as a future liquid vendor to try out. Though, it is good news that the Vapor Talk store is re-opening. Hopefully, they won't run out of Dulcis before I get paid, LOL!!
  12. TVR juice order arrived!!! Got the 6ml taster 5-pack with Ginger's RY4, French vanilla, red bull, sweet watermelon, and vanilla coffee. Also got my free first-time customer 15ml bottle of Ginger's RY4 (mse12 better be right about how good this stuff is, LOL), and they gave me a free 3ml bottle of raspberry. All liquids are 50/50 blend in 12mg strength. Let the steeping begin!!!
  13. Either in my reptile room, or the basement rehearsal studio.
  14. Yes, I'm still just starting out....but here is my current collection anyways: (Left to right) Kanger MT3, eGo with Vision 2.0 clearomizer, standard eGo, and a standard 510 with purple LED in front
  15. That's awesome!! Glad to hear everything is going well for you so far. :p
  16. +1 for Vision products!! Recently, I purchased three clearomizers; a V2 CE6, a Kanger MT3, and a Vision 2.0. Out of the three, the Vision performs the best. The other two have been relegated to the bottom of my vape box, while I wish I had used the $$ I spent on them for a ViVi Nova....
  17. Sweet pick up!!! Like others said, get more juice, maybe a clearomizer / vivi nova / carto tank, and you'll be in business. My biggest mistake in starting out was not leaving enough budget to get a few bottles in different strengths. For the first few days, I ended up making myself sick a number of times chain-vaping too high of a strength while jonesing for a smoke. Worse yet, I was stuck with the high-strength liquid until payday, then a few more days until my juice order arrived in the mail. Congrats, again, and good luck to you on your journey towards a new (and better) analog-free life!!!
  18. Synther made a lot of good points. The manual button does give you more control. However.... Analogs and E-Cigarettes are similar in the "cigarette" part of the name only. After that, its apples and oranges all the way. Drawing on an e-cig utilizes a different technique, and requires a bit of practice. This is a big reason a lot of people return to smoking....they just do not get the hang of it, and give up before they even start. (Don't get scared just yet...this is something you will get accustomed to after a couple days, and will become practically second-nature after that.) There are some good articles on this, and "the other forum" regarding the proper inhalation technique required for vaping. The articles cover the spectrum of drawing vapor on both a manual as well as an automatic battery. In short, it is up to the end user, and the use of proper inhalation technique that make all the difference in the world.
  19. Welcome to VaporTalk!! Let me first say that there really aren't any e-juices that will taste like a true analog. Though, there are some terrific tobacco flavors out there. Believe me, after a couple weeks of vaping all sorts of delicious liquids, you really won't miss cigarettes all that much. As for an e-cig that is close to an analog, there are many options to choose from. Most commonly recommended would be a KR808 or a 510 kit. I believe both come in both automatic and manual (push-button) versions, as well as two and three piece setups. There are plus and minus aspects to both. If you like ease of setup, and no fuss with your device, then the 808 would be a good choice for you. If you like to tinker with things, then get a 510. Do some research, soul searching, and ask a lot of questions. You may find that neither will suit you, and wind up jumping feet-first into the world of Vaping, and buying an eGo kit, or a mod of some sort. This forum is filled with friendly and knowledgeable people ready to help you whenever you need.
  20. In addition to the V2 CE6 I got last week, my Vision 2.0 and Kanger MT3 arrived yesterday from DiscountVapes.com So far, I'm liking the MT3 a lot!!!!
  21. Well, let me know how those ones work out for you. As a newbie, I haven't yet had the opportunity to get too discouraged, and would like to keep it that way for some time.
  22. Welcome to VaporTalk!!! Personally, I'm only about 2 weeks free from analogs, and I vape way more than I ever smoked. My eGo is always on my person, and it feels nice to be able to take a couple hits every now and again pretty much whenever and wherever I want. "Pretty much" being the key phrase, LOL!!! I do follow all social rules regarding smoking until someone in charge tells me otherwise, and don't vape in bars at all. The last thing the e-cig community needs is the publicity of the drunk that got 86'd for lighting up inside because they saw someone vaping.
  23. Let's just say the days of being young and stupid left me with a big disdain for any hard liquor....especially that of the cheap kind, LOL!!! Now, if there were a liquid that tasted like some of my favorite local microbrews, you'd never get me away from my PV. Seriously Rix....Taste in anything; art, music, food, and e-Juice is highly subjective. Personally, I'll try just about anything once. Someone can make ten different recommendations in a row to me, and I'll try every one in succession until I find something I like, and not hold the person in question. Out of the three or four RY4's I've tried, the Dekang was the only one I couldn't stand. So, I have 30ml waiting for ya if you want to trade for a couple samples of different RY4.
  24. So, on popular advice, I ordered some Dekang RY4, and received it this afternoon. Honestly, it was pretty horrible. I am still trying to wash the taste out of my mouth!!! Smelled like cheap whiskey, and tasted worse. Fortunately, it didn't cost me much, so I'm not too put out by not liking it. Think I'll take MSE's suggestion, and try TVR's RY4.
  25. Hmm...not that I have any qualms with signing something like this. However, it really begs the question as to how "Official" this is, considering anyone can write up any ridiculous petition they want...ie: building a Death Star. Some of the petitions the white house has responded to are quite asinine, and quite frankly, a waste of our government's time. What's to say that this petition (however pertinent) will not be treated the same way as someone asking for bags of all red jellybeans? While signing this petition cannot hurt in any way, it would likely be more useful to seek other channels to get a better-written, and more official document up through the ranks of congress. Just my .02 (BTW: I already signed this....just in case :p )
