  1. Dimitri (VapingGreek on YouTube) recently reviewed the K100. He said it was a dead-accurate copy of the Empire Mod. So much so that his Empire tubes worked perfectly with the device. Can't remember off the top of my head where he got it, but he posted the link in the video description. $60 gets you the mod, battery, and charger. I'm definitely on the hunt for a cheap true mechanical mod or two that I won't mind screwing up should something go wrong somewhere in my newbie-ness.
  2. Must have gotten a defective MT3, because mine was good for the first half-tank, then started flooding. So, I used a thicker juice, and everything tasted burnt. Went back to a thinner juice....still tasted burnt. I know everyone swears by their MT3s, but I've had nothing but problems. Maybe I jumped on the BCC bandwagon too quickly. But, other people have had success far too often for the technology to be completely faulty. Maybe I got a bad head....but, that still doesn't fix the annoyance I've had with cleaning my unit. Maybe I just do not like wasting money... With all the new products coming out (EVOD, nano, VapeOnly BCC), I think I'll wait for a better-designed product before I jump back onto the train.
  3. Add a little bacon flavor to the Dulcis....in fact, do a separate one altogether with the bacon flavor added in!!! I'll buy both!!! :p
  4. Well, the Ginger's RY4 ran out, and so did the Nic Station RY4....which leaves VT's Dulcis running through my tank. After two tanks, I must say that Dulcis has finally made it into my permanent rotation. Now if only Christopher would make a Dulcis with a little Bacon flavor added in.....
  5. Paragon of Python...I love it, LOL!!! Gonna have to use that one. Vanilla should be ok for a plastic polycarbonate tank. I got some French Vanilla from TVR....tastes like cake batter. Don't know if its tank-worthy for me, but its a great morning vape!! I also recommend their Ginger's RY4 as a tobacco flavor....great vanilla and caramel flavor with hints of something else. Also, from what I understand, if you use a metal tank, it needs to be food-grade stainless steel. Otherwise, the "tank killer" juices will leach out minerals from the metals used in production.
  6. Rarely have I seen warnings posted by juice vendors for any given flavor that may potentially crack a tank. In fact, I can hardly find any comprehensive listings posted on forums or e-cig information sites regarding these kinds of juices. So, as a personal rule, anything that is NOT a tobacco flavor does NOT go in a polycarbonate tank. Since I'm pretty stuck on RY4's for my daily vape, I prefer direct-dripping my "change-up" flavors....makes them taste that much better for some reason.
  7. Anyone who's ever ran out of juice, or battery life....or have had a head or carto inexplicably go t*ts up in the middle of a work day, or evening social event will tell you to always have backups!!! In fact, you should always keep around backups for your backups...
  8. Though I haven't smoked in bed (let alone indoors) in many years, I do enjoy the idea that I can vape in bed without fear of burning down the house. So far, I've not yet had a midnight vape craving, but I keep my PV by the bed....just in case!!! :p
  9. Congrats, and welcome to VaporTalk, Dan!!!
  10. With so many RY4's out there, I'm gonna have to keep buying different ones, and periodically compare them to my "mainstays." After spending the afternoon switching between these lovely contestants, here is my review. (L to R: Nic Station RY4, TVR Ginger's RY4, and Dulcis) Being new to juice, its hard to have a grounding on what, exactly, makes an RY4. If they all tasted like Ginger's RY4 from TVR, or like Nic Station's version of the liquid, I could rest easy knowing I've found my daily vape without further exploration. Ginger's has the right amount of everything. Great vapor production, smooth throat hit, and a wonderfully complex flavor. Though, the 50/50 blend is a little light on the flavor, TVR has the option of adding a flavor bump. I could vape this the rest of my life, and be content. Nic Station is a vendor local to my area, and I wouldn't even bother reviewing their RY4, except that they do have a website. Sadly, it has not launched yet. They do have a Facebook page, so get on there, and demand the website be launched!!! The RY4 they sell is fan-friggin-tastic!!! Loads of warm, buttery caramel, sweet vanilla sugar, and a hint of nuttyness round out this brew. Tastes almost like that caramel corn you get from the mall. This juice has a solid throat hit, and produces thick clouds of warm, inviting vapor...especially for a PG-heavy juice. Lastly, there is VT's own Dulcis. This blend tastes more like a heavy maple syrup than the caramel-vanilla RY4 blends that I've come to love. The slightly nutty notes present give it a really balanced flavor, yet do not come off like a maple-walnut candy out of a See's variety sampler box. However, Dulcis could be labeled as a "Maple Bar," and I would not notice the difference. Like Nic Station's RY4, the vapor production is awesome, and the throat hit punches like an angry New Yorker. Personally though, I feel that the Dulcis was a lot more hype than the price of shipping for a slightly better (yet, way more vapable) version of Dekang's chemical concoction. Sorry Christopher...I love your forum, but the Dulcis is being relegated back to the Vaping box for use as a backup, or novelty flavor for when I need a change of pace.
  11. Just stopped by the Nic Station, and picked up some of their RY4. Their website still hasn't launched yet....apparently, their accountant has held them back for months despite the growing demand. Still, one of the better RY4's I've vaped thus far. Now, to take it for some side-by-side Vaping with TVR's Ginger's RY4, and Dulcis for comparison....
  12. First, a couple questions.... Are your clearomizers "rebuildable" (ie: you can change out the heads), or not? Second, do you have, or have access to a multi-meter? 4.8 volts shouldn't really be enough to pop anything. But, I'd check with a multi-meter just to make sure your clearo is, in fact, 1.8 or whatever. Honestly, everyone's vaping experience will be different. Just play around until you find something you like. Personally, I use a Vision 2.0 CE5 (aka: "rebuildable") clearomizer. Supposedly, it has a 2.4 Ohm head. However, I metered it at 3.5 Ohms. But, when I put it on my Twist, it (along with every other clearo I have) kept giving off a hot, flavorless, and slightly scorched taste no matter what voltage I had it set at. So, I put my 2.0 back on my standard eGo, and used the Twist with standard attys for dripping....which it works awesome for!!! Again, its all personal preference, and blind luck getting equipment that works like everyone else's.
  13. Starting to become a RY4 connoisseur, myself. Though, I haven't tried enough of them to become a snob just yet...but I'm sure I'll get there one day, LOL!!! So far, I like the Vapor Room juices the best out of the different vendors I've tried. If Matt over at Nic Station (a vendor local to my area) will ever get his website up and running, I'd recommend them as well....probably one of my favorite RY4's thus far!!
  14. You get what you pay for....well, maybe not always when factoring in Chinese-made stuff that was cheaply made to begin with. I recently purchased the non-Joye 900 mAh Twist from Discount Vapes. Works ok, except that the button sticks every now and again, requiring an additional press to turn the damn thing off. "Look Mom...No hands!!!"
  15. In short, the best juice out there is the one that keeps you off analogs for good....and that's all I have to say about that!!! :p
  16. Personally, I use a Vision 2.0 CE5 style on a standard 650 mAh eGo battery. Tried some other clearos, but none of the others have worked out too well for me....even with my new eGo Twist. For some reason, individual experiences with clearomizers vary greatly. I have yet to try carto tanks or ViVi Novas, but a lot of discerning individuals seem to prefer them. Guess it can be chalked up to a trial and error thing. They're so cheap anyways, you can just buy a bunch of different units, find what works for you, and chuck the rest.
  17. That explains a lot more, Rix. Toward the end of my tank of Dulcis, I was turning down the voltage because my vape was tasting scorched. So much so that I put the clearo back on my regular eGo. Went to go meter the clearo right after you posted that, and found out the battery in my multi-meter went **** up....guess I'll get it figured out when I get a new battery tomorrow. Yeah, McQuinn is right: its a miracle any of this cheap crap works at all!! I may as well just cut to the chase, and get a decent mod, a kick, and a good set of rebuildable attys. My wallet is screaming at me right now, LOL!!!
  18. Maybe if they added a little Bacon flavor to it... :p
  19. MSE to the rescue!!! Thanks for the info. Makes sense, because around 4 volts on the Twist gives me a good vape with the clearo. Guess I'll have to get a VAMO now to meter my attys... :p I can see this vaping thing eating up way more money than I ever spent smoking, LOL!!!
  20. Only 6-feet?? (Sorry..but when you own a Burm, anything under 10 seems kinda small ) I love my red tail...he's also about 6-feet. Glad you found yours a good home, though. Too many owners do irresponsible things with their Exotics, and that is all too sad for both the animals, and the exotic pet industry.
  21. Personally, I like a bit more Vanilla, but you pretty well got it!! To me, it tastes more like a strong, organic Maple Syrup....which isn't a bad way to go at all. At least it doesn't have a chemical taste, which is a huge turn-off for me. I'm still reserving judgement until I finish this tank, and further reserving that judgement until I vape a tank of well-steeped Dulcis. :p
  22. Sorry Rix....the Dekang that I got tasted way more like chemicals than flavor. Good review of the Dulcis, BTW!!
  23. Here's one for you tech-heads out there. Earlier today, I broke out a new head for my trusty Vision 2.0. Primarily to try out some new liquid, but also to give my new eGo Twist a quick test-drive. In the interest of calculating my vaping wattage at various settings, I broke out the multi-meter to get an accurate reading on the different atomizers I'm using. The standard attys (which came with my original eGo kit) that I've been direct-dripping with metered at 3.5 - 3.6 Ohms. No real surprise there. The real surprise came when I metered the clearomizer heads. They were supposed to be 2.4 Ohms (they're even stamped with 2.4 Ohm), but the meter read 3.5!!! I metered the heads alone, on the body of the clearo, and one head on the clearo filled with liquid, and properly wicked. No change. So, here's the question...multi-part, no less: -I do understand tolerances, but a full Ohm?? How can this be?? Am I doing something wrong with the meter?? -My experience with the clearo vs. the standard atty on a standard eGo battery using the same liquid (a 50/50 pg/vg blend) has been substantially different. The clearo has always gotten better vapor, throat hit, and flavor overall. I had to crank the Twist up to above 4.4-ish in order to even match the performance of the clearo. If both delivery devices are reading the same resistance, then why such drastic difference in performance?? Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me figure this out!!
