From the first time I saw your Roller, Uma, I fell in love....the clean simplicity, and functionality of this mod are unparalleled. I must own this mod!!! All the reviews I've seen (which are seemingly few and far between) have been overwhelmingly positive. What surprises me is the lack of a following for this mod. So, Uma, as an owner of both the Roller and a Poldiac - a mod known for having a devoted following - what would you say are the quirks keeping the Roller out of the same esteem that people give mods like the Poldiac, GG, and Chi-You?

Dammit....now you're making me anxious to pair up some of my geckos, LOL!!!

He should...considering how fast the reptile lovers jacked this thread, LOL!!!

Congrats on the eggs!!! Normals, or another morph?? (I'm afraid I do not know my beardies as well as my pythons, LOL!!!) Great to see all the reptile lovers coming out of the woodwork!!!

Yeah, I'm with Rix on this one!!! Though, I'd settle for plastic bottles in at least a 30 ml size. Gotta admit...the Dulcis really grew on me after a few tanks.

...and strongly tastes like chemicals. Personally, I'll pay a bit extra for quality. Though, it's just as cost-effective (if not, more so) to DIY, and you get the benefit of knowing exactly what's in your juice.

Yeah, getting an order in on their website is practically impossible. Tried a few times myself, but have yet to be successful. I know AltSmoke and Smoktek carry Boba's and Gorilla Juice. Though, I keep forgetting about that whenever I get the chance to order more juices. :p

Starter Kits vs "Custom" Set Ups for a New User
CascadianExotics replied to Nawzlew's topic in General Vaping Discussion
Personally, I believe "dry-burning" is mostly used when employing RBA SS mesh wick setups. As Tam pointed out, dry-burning a clearo is risking a burnt flavor. When I clean my clearomizer, I do the following method religiously: 1) remove, rinse, and dry the drip tip. 2) remove, rinse, and dry the tank. 3) remove the head. Remove the silicone piece. Rinse, and pat-dry the whole assembly with a paper towel. 4) rinse and dry the base. 5) re-assemble the base with the head minus the silicone piece. 6) attach the base + head to the battery / mod, and pulse-fire a few times until the internal coil and wick is dry....this takes some practice, but you'll figure it out soon enough. 7) re-assemble the clearomizer unit, and fill with your favorite liquid. 8) wait five minutes, and enjoy a vape!!! Normally, I use a paper towel, along with blowing air thorough the hollow parts to dry everything on the unit. Once you find your groove, then these steps can be accomplished in 5 minutes or less. Hope this helps!!! -
Though, the iClear appears to be highly competitive, Vision seems to put out good products on a consistent basis, so I'd go with the Vivi Nova.
-
Still plastic / polycarbonate....I'd strongly recommend using glass or pyrex for those Sweet-Tart kind of flavors.

Seems like everyone is jumping on the MT3 look-a-like trend these days.

Here's an interesting thing I read on the "other" forum regarding steeping your juice: If you can get your hands onto an ultrasonic cleaner (you can get one cheaply on FleaBay), put just enough water in so that the juice bottles barely float....you may have to band multiple bottles together with a rubber band. Remove the cap, and tip, and go through a cycle. Now, I've personally not tried this, but those who have report that this method produces the same result as if you were to simply let your juice sit for around two weeks.

K100.. Empire Clone
CascadianExotics replied to robv1978's topic in Share the Latest Vaping Products
Awesome!!! How do you like it so far? Was toying with the idea of getting a K100 kit to get kick-started into the world of mechanical mods, but I am not too keen on the look of the mod. Still a great value, so I cannot rule it out just yet... -
Starter Kits vs "Custom" Set Ups for a New User
CascadianExotics replied to Nawzlew's topic in General Vaping Discussion
That is true that the Twist has that range....in fact, I was using it at its max setting for a 3.5 ohm atty. I was more referring to how Proteus was setting his device between 3.2-3.8 for a 1.8 clearo head. Thereby making the argument that he may as well use a standard battery if he likes that resistance. Point being that even with a variable voltage device, everyone is "stuck" fiddling around trying to find something that works, until they find that magical number combination that works for them. -
Starter Kits vs "Custom" Set Ups for a New User
CascadianExotics replied to Nawzlew's topic in General Vaping Discussion
Sure you can....now, please do not take this the wrong way. But, here is an alternate perspective on variable voltage: I picked up a Twist back in late January. It worked for all of a month (only being used a handful of times) then suddenly quit working. Personally, I'm not too bent about it because it never worked right for me with any clearomizer, so I just used it for direct dripping while sampling flavors. Then again, I found myself leaving it at one setting the whole time, and decided it was pretty well pointless. The 3.2-3.8 volt range is the exact same range as a standard eGo battery runs from fully charged to full drain. Though, you cannot run it at a single constant voltage, it still works well. Understanding this, all you would need to do is get an atty / carto / clearo head with a resistance you like (you were saying 1.8 ohm), put it on a standard eGo, and vape away. At which point, you might as well get a mechanical mod, and a DCT, or RBA, and look good doing it!!! Again, please do not take this the wrong way. The whole process of finding out what works is sometimes neverending (look at pbusardo, lol), and is as individual as there are gadgets and gizmos to screw on your devices. -
The higher end mods are all made in small runs, and thus have waiting lists. Probably the best thing you can do is to check with the vendors, send emails to the makers, and go get verified at some of the other e-cig forums that have good classified sections. Oftentimes, people there place good quality mode up for sale or trade. If you live in a region where vape meets, or vapor clubs occur, you can score something that way. Good luck in your quest!!!

Starter Kits vs "Custom" Set Ups for a New User
CascadianExotics replied to Nawzlew's topic in General Vaping Discussion
A drip tip is just a mouthpiece you put onto an atomizer, cartomizer, or tank setup. Some people can drip into the drip tip itself and hit the coil on their drip atomizers, but I'm not that talented, LOL!!! Honestly, if I knew when I started what I know now (all 2 1/2 months ago)....I'd probably have told myself to do what I did anyways. There's a learning curve everyone has to go through, and no one singular magic "setup" that will work for everyone right out of the gate. Start Simple, and Upgrade Later!!!! There are a ton of setups and methods out there. My suggestion is to do your homework, and go for what you think will give you the best chance of success....even if that means waiting a month, and ordering more than what you will end up needing. You can always take your unwanted stuff, and pay it forward by giving it to someone who wants to quit smoking, and guide them through the steps. Oh, also you will need backup equipment. So, whatever you order, get double. That way, you'll never be left high and dry, ready to go back to analogs while waiting for replacement gear. -
You should be fine starting out with the Vivi Nova on an eGo. A lot of people like them, and the heads can easily be rebuilt. Some people seem to favor the clearomizers on a vv device, like the eGo Twist. Though, I personally didn't like that setup, and my Twist is now used for direct dripping only. I have a Vision 2.0 clearo (similar to the mini vivi nova) on a standard eGo 650 mAh battery, and that is prime for me. Even though I'm looking into getting a mechanical mod + genesis atomizer setup going, I love that setup so much that I'll continue to use it for my out-and-about rig. In short, its all about finding something you like, and going for it. You don't need to get a crap-ton of different gadgets to enjoy a good vape. As long as it keeps you off regular cigarettes, then there is no such thing as a bad setup.

Is nicotine an oxidant or antioxidant?
CascadianExotics replied to efreeman1980's topic in General Vaping Discussion
Thanks!! I'm definitely interested in reading the studies...it would most certainly be funny if nic were found to be an antioxidant. Oh, the controversial news stories something like that could create. Your symptoms, though, are all consistent with dehydration. Vaping will do that to you. Just drink plenty of water, and you'll be fine. -
Definitely good work, Mark!!! Hadn't thought about doing that for my PVs, as my collection is still relatively small....but, I'll get a couple from you in the future. That is, if you're still doing them by the time my collection gets up to that kind of size, LOL!!! Currently, I'm using a $2 plastic toothbrush holder from Target. The holes are elliptical, and measure around 2.5 cm across, and about 3 cm top to bottom. So, a 22mm mod should be able to fit in there. I'll let you guys know whenever I get one to test that theory...

Could you post your online references?? Maybe someone would be happy to translate them for you in this thread. Otherwise, I do not exactly get what you are asking. Or, more specifically, why? Not trying to be contentious, but curious....being a science-oriented individual, myself, LOL!! -
From what I understand, the Bolt is not a "true" mechanical mod, as it has wires from the button to the 510 connection. Same thing as the OP's Silver Bullet.... True mechanicals come as cheap as the SmokTech Telescope, the Natural (GG-like device), or the K100 (Empire replica). There are some good cheap-o devices on DiscountVapers.com if that's the route you want to go. If quality is what you're after, then the sky is the limit. Do a little research, and you will find a whole host of devices ranging from the generally available Bombshell Stingers, to the made to order Poldiac, to the coveted Caravella. Good luck!!!

What Is Your Favorite Electronic Cigarette Tastes
CascadianExotics replied to yundoo002's topic in General Vaping Discussion
Ginger's RY4 from The Vapor Room has to be my personal favorite. Though, I also like their Sweet Watermelon a-freaking-LOT!!! Most days, I put an RY4 of some kind in my clearo, and drip the Watermelon, or some other flavor, out of a standard atty on my eGo Twist. -

You won't be disappointed, Rix!!!! (BTW: their Sweet Watermelon and Raspberry flavors are absolutely amazing!!!) -
Unless you're like some people (cough *Rixter* cough), and never grew out if it.
