I change mine a few days after the liquid starts turning dark from the leftover funk and the flavor starts to diminish. It still produces lots of vapor but for no more than they cost I go for tasty vapor. That is usually 4 to 6 weeks though.I did the same thing with the Vision Clearomisers as they are pretty much the same thing as a Vivi.I find with the lower resistance I have to not press the button as long as I am acustomed to or I get the burnt taste.Still get plenty of vapor just a different tecnique with LR.

Welcome to the forum Izzzz, I guess it all comes down to you the vaporer....lol. Some people will change out the atty or coil as soon as the tastes begins to change, if moneys not a problem this is the best for flavor. I'm a bit more stubborn and if the attys still cranking out hits I use it till the taste is so bad or it flat out dies. Some people even clean them depending on what your using. But for the most part a lot of the attys and heads are pretty cheap and you have to figure out whats best for you. Good Luck

Welcome to VaporTalk and congrats for switching over to vaping!!

I don't change mine until either:
    1. It doesn't produce very well (weak & dying)
    2. It doesn't produce at all (dead)

The burnt taste you're experiencing is more than likely due to too hot of a coil burning your particular juice. Every flavor and mix has it's own preference ... some like a cool coil, some like it hot.

When it tastes burnt, just take it out and rinse it off good, let dry, then try a cooler setting on your mod. This is where VV mods come in real handy. If you don't have a VV mod, but if you do have wire, your can recoil it, using an extra wrap or two.
If the taste still tastes burnt, you might want to toss it, set it aside, and try another.

The Viva's readings can be sporadic. Sometimes, for instance, a 3.0 ohm coil will actually be a 1.8 or something. It happens. Just beware and prepared to switch out.

The tinted juice, is usually caused from runback... of juice that went up the hot coil and back down again into the tank several times. It's usually not anything to worry about. Discoloration is normal, especially when the vape is too hot for the juice.

    Hope this helps.

    Hello Vapor Talk community

I've been vaping for a couple of months now (easiest switch from a long running, stubborn habit ever), and this is my first post. I was hoping to get a conversation going on the subject of when it's time to change out the atomizer heads. This is the one aspect of vaping that's not super clear to me. The information I was given at the onset was that my hits would all of a sudden taste clearly and obviously "burned". perhaps my brutish pallet's to blame, but it's not been obvious to me at all. Certainly, I can tell after a while that my hits have kind of a burned taste as compared to when the attey's fresh, but it's not obviously bad to me. Is it all just a matter of taste until the atomizer head flat out dies, or is there a point before then when it's objectively wrong to keep using? What about the e-juice getting dark - is that an indicator of some kind? Intuitively, it seems like it must be, but my e-liquid starts getting dark just a few days after changing out the atomizer head. I use the Vivi Nova, and from what I've read, some people get over a month from those attey's. If the e-liquid darkening is an indicator, what am I doing wrong / differently from other vapers that I would only get 3-5 days of "clean" vaping?

I'd like to thank, in advance, anyone who chimes in with their thoughts or insights. Let's get this conversation rolling.

Vape on, my brothuhs (and sistuhs, obviously),

    -Izzz
