  1. Stossel takes on the FDA's war on vaping: http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2011/11/16/fda-is-trying-to-kill-smokers/
  2. Unfortunately, I'm analog for the drive until someone comes up with an 801 cartomizer (which is something Indy Vapor appears to have an angle on) or I can find decent fill material. I emailed the guy at strictlyejuice that kitsune linked to, but he said his plugs are too small for 801s. Brian emailed and pointed me to some higher-resistance 510 cartomizers at nhaler that might work for menthol. I'm looking in to that, too. Miatafraink, that taste in the default cart material is what's driving my mission to find an alternative - plus, it just doesn't hold enough liquid to get me to work.
  3. Ok, that's the same Fluval I bought today. I'll probably just run some juice through it without inhaling for a bit and see if it "settles down." I'll head by nhaler and see if anything's there on the 801 carto front, but do please keep me posted if you hear of anything else. Thanks!
  4. Having heard Fluval makes a superior packing material for 801 carts, I picked up some of the polyester water polishing pads today, rinsed and dried them and stuffed some into a cart. As soon as I vaped it, my throat stung and burned. I pulled the cart to see if it was melting - it wasn't, but the juice had gone very dark, almost black. Did I get the wrong stuff? Is there a toxicity issue with the polyester pads and heat? Has anyone heard if someone out there is working on 801 cartomizers? That would be ideal. 510s are just a tad too harsh for menthol.
  5. I just wanted add my own experience with the Buzz and notcigs.com. I've been vaping my Buzz on the same set of batteries for two days. TWO DAYS! And it's still going! I thought my low-battery warning wasn't functioning, but I hooked it to a meter and the voltage output is right where I set it - 4.65V. I also received the most exemplary service from notcigs - both the Buzz and the company get my highest recommendation! The Buzz with an 801 atty and Tasty Vapor tobacco menthol is the Holy Grail for a former Kool smoker! Nothing else I've tried comes even close.
  6. Thanks everyone! I appreciate the tips!
  7. Hopefully this is the correct forum for the question - if not let me know. It's stock-up time and I'm looking for a vendor that sells Joye 302 atomizers in bulk. What I mean is, you can buy 5-packs of 901s or 510s at a significant discount as compared to buying 5 individual atomizers, but I've never seen "packages" of 302s. And I'd really prefer to buy larger quantities - say 10 or 20 in a package. Can anyone suggest a source? Also, I'm only interested in Joye 302s, not "alternative" (801-type) equivalents. Thanks in advance, hope everyone's having a great day!
  8. My brother and I were raised to be independent thinkers, to be self-sufficient, and to accept responsibility for our own actions. We resent government intrusion in our lives, and deeply resent the current litigious state of American culture. We think people should educate themselves before engaging in any potentially hazardous activity, and barring that, stand up as adults and take their lumps for their own stupid behavior. We don't feel responsible in the slightest for people who fail to conduct themselves with a modicum of common sense, and don't expect to be held accountable for them. Just my two cents.
  9. OSS is alive today because our community has high-powered lawyers like Eben Moglen organizing and lobbying for us. I hate to be a downer, but if ecigs are going to survive in America, we'd better find some lawyer advocates who are willing to spend a lot of time in DC lobbying congress and refuting the anti-addiction emotionalism with scientific fact and Constitutional precedent.
  10. I'm a former Kool full flavor smoker (as well as Newports on occasion), and had difficulty finding a satisfying juice. Since you're a heavy smoker, you'll probably want a super-high nicotine fluid. The best I've found to satisfy my nicotine/menthol/throat hit need is Tasty Vapor's Tobacco Menthol in 48mg strength. It's absolutely superb. He only sells in 1 fluid ounce sizes, so if you don't like it you'll throw away a lot of juice, but it's cheap at $15 per oz. I really can't see any heavy menthol smoker not finding it satisfactory. http://www.tastyvapor.us/tobaccomenthol-eliquid-p-95.html?cPath=10
  11. They're not health promoters, they're control freaks on an anti-addiction crusade. They don't want safe alternatives, they want people with the temerity to become substance addicted to suffer. It's a Puritan thing - "Poison not thy fleshly temple pilgrim, or suffer thy God's eternal wrath!" They've mistaken themselves for deities.
  12. I'm using them on a Super Six with a 14500 battery.
  13. Maybe that's what I'm doing wrong. When I blow them out, I blow from the mouthpiece side to the threaded side. I blew the other way with an 801 once, and the whole wick assembly came out. It made me paranoid about doing that.
  14. After using a 5V PT, the 3.7V experience just doesn't cut it for me. I ordered a Super Six with an 801 adapter thinking I could vape it at 6V. However, protected CR2s wouldn't fit in it. So I exchanged the 801 adapter for a 510, and ordered some of NHaler's low resistance 510 attys. I'm not getting much joy from them. They're great for one or two drip cycles, lots of vapor and great flavor. But then they stop producing vapor, and smell and taste burnt. They continue to make noise and get warm, but nothing rewarding comes out. Has anyone else experienced this? Am I doing something wrong? TIA.

  16. GSP hands down. I also have a problem liking the guy, and also can't explain it. It's not like he's cocky or anything - there's just something about his demeanor. But he really is unbeatable at this point. One thing about that guy, he's a serious worker. He's significantly better every time he fights.
  17. I was a dedicated menthol smoker, and finding a really good juice was really hard. I'm also one of those freaks who vapes 48mg, which made it even harder. I found my Holy Grail in Tasty Vapor's Tobacco Menthol. In 48mg that stuff is the closest thing I've found to a full-flavor Kool. It absolutely rocks! Vape on!
  18. Tasty Vapor 48mg Tobacco Menthol in both the VP2 and the VP/PT. Absolutely stellar juice!
  19. Not fer me! I WANT my nicotine!
  20. I highly recommend this book on the subject. They're exceedingly rare, but worth owning. What a history lesson! http://www.amazon.com/Second-Amendment-Primer-Authorities-Constitutional/dp/B0006QSTH4
  21. I actually like a lot of different kinds of music. Rock is my staple, but I like blues, bluegrass, some (but very little) country, rockabilly and gospel. Rap/hip-hop are out. My taste in rock is guitar-driven - David Gilmour/Pink Floyd, Aerosmith, Foo Fighters, older ZZ Top, etc. Recent discoveries that rate high are Broken Records, Built to Spill, Delta Spirit, Andrew Bird (although that guy can't really be categorized) and The Big Pink. For blues the standards are Keb' Mo', Los Lonely Boys, SRV, Henry Thomas and Joe Bonamassa. I like some Christian rock, notably The Call and Third Day. Warren Zevon is way up near the top of my list, and also Wishbone Ash for a good nostalgia rush. Now you've done it - I'm going through my collection again...
  22. This is business as usual for Dave. Movies that have no effect whatsoever on my tween daughter will keep him awake for weeks.
  23. I have to disagree with you FTJoe. The word "Militia" at the time the Amendment was written was defined as every able-bodied adult. Modern political wanks are using symantics to redefine the word. It's <expletive>, IMO. The Swiss have a true militia, and it's what America used to have. We need to get back to our roots. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gun_politics_in_Switzerland
  24. <applause!> Congrats!
  25. You're in my prayers, Krissy.
